Food was pretty good. Loved the idea of refillable side salads etc. Service was fast and friendly.

The food is very tasty, but more expensive than elsewhere; you should bring plenty of time to enjoy it.

After a long wait, patience was rewarded. We had a delicious meal!

Update March 2026: Our 2nd experience with this restaurant and it was, well... unusual! Dined with 3 people, 2 of whom had to travel quite a distance. Reserve for 19:30. That wasn't a problem. We were even there at 19:00 and it wasn't full. That must have been the reason we felt rushed all evening to wolf down our food as quickly as possible. The starter and main course were placed on the table at a rapid pace. When the dessert was brought, we were asked if we wanted to order coffee in advance, because otherwise she would have to start cleaning the coffee machine right away. There was no question of a cozy, quiet chat, and it wasn't exactly a relaxed dining experience. We did have to shell out €185.50 and goodbye! If you don't mind people reserving at 19:30, then I would let them dine in peace, or tell them that having a bite to eat so "late" isn't possible; that would be my suggestion. Well, should we ever go there again, I think the rule is: please order starters, main courses, and desserts immediately. Eat this as quickly as possible and get out of there! ============================================ Actually, we wanted to go to another restaurant, but that was already full, so we went to the Stadsherberg instead. Judging by the name of the restaurant, I was a bit skeptical and thought: I wonder if it will be any good. I can tell you: appearances can be deceiving, and the opposite was true! The service is top-notch, the atmosphere is great, and the food is incredibly good!

Had a delicious lunch at Stadsherberg Kampen! The quality of the food is very good, while the prices are very reasonable and affordable. The location is beautiful, right by the city bridge, which makes for an atmospheric view. The service also deserves a compliment: incredibly friendly and hospitable. Definitely recommended if you want to enjoy a nice lunch in Kampen!

Perfect place to end the day with a delicious dinner. We had an extensive meal here with 8 people; from starters and main courses to dessert, everything was good. There was also a chef's option with every course.

We come here often. This time with the family. We found the main courses to be perfectly fine and tasty. We thought the side dishes for four people were a bit small. That is why we immediately ordered an extra portion of fries and vegetables. Otherwise, the service was prompt.

We ordered the prawns, the bread board, and the nachos, and everything tasted excellent. Additionally, we had a child with us, and the staff was incredibly friendly and child-oriented. That made the experience complete. Good service, tasty food, and a nice atmosphere. We will definitely be back here again!

We opted for the shared dining menu, where a selection of dishes is served on tiered stands. We had indicated in advance that we do not eat pork. This was supposed to be no problem. The starter was served, but the waitress walked away immediately without explaining what the different dishes were. Fortunately, the starter tasted very good. The main course, however, was a major disappointment. We received a few pieces of meat and fish that were very dry and far too overcooked. Again, no explanation was given about what was on the table. To our surprise, it turned out afterwards that pork had actually been served, despite our earlier notification. We suffered quite a bit from this afterwards. Additionally, we asked for extra sauce, because the sauce served with it was very thick and gave the impression that it had been sitting for a long time. Unfortunately, that extra sauce was never brought. The dessert was decent. The carrot cake was tasty, but the apple pie was on the dry side. Here, too, there was once again a lack of explanation regarding the dishes. As for the service, one of the blonde waitresses in particular stood out negatively. She came across as uninterested and seemed to have little desire to help us. The dark-haired waitress, on the other hand, was friendly and helpful, but unfortunately, she could not make up for the negative experience. All in all, the evening was quite disappointing for us, mainly due to the mediocre quality of the main course, the disregard for our dietary requirements, and the lack of service and explanation regarding the dishes.

After hearing several positive stories from acquaintances, I finally got to eat here. The restaurant is regularly fully booked, you see. The food and view are excellent. The service could be a bit more professional.

Lovely place for lunch 😍. Within walking distance of the station and with a beautiful view of the bridge and the water from the conservatory. We had the carpaccio and the beef tenderloin tips on bread. It was very tasty! The service was also top-notch, friendly staff and quick service. In terms of prices, they are the “normal” prices you find at many other lunch spots as well. 🤩

Very friendly and attentive service. The ambiance was appealing. We had, among other things, schnitzel with fresh mushrooms and were delighted by the number and variety of side dishes. The price/performance ratio is absolutely excellent. Highly recommended! Not to mention the beautiful view of the IJssel.

We have been there a few times for lunch, but when we got upstairs, everything was full. Tip: maybe it would be a good idea to put a sign on the one outside downstairs to indicate that it is full. That way, people wouldn't have to go up the stairs first.

I ate at your place not too long ago, but there were a few girls live in the restaurant and I personally found it came across as very unprofessional, and unfortunately, they also spoke very negatively about the guests sitting there at that moment.

Slow service + only asked about drinks twice in 3 hours. Dishes are adjusted for lactose intolerance, which does make the dish a bit sparse. The preparation is very good, but be sure to ask what they're going to adjust to your dish. The atmosphere is good, and the service is friendly but seems a bit inexperienced. Would I go again? We had a fantastic Christmas lunch. A beautiful tiered stand with delicious dishes. The service was good, and the location is beautiful. Keep in mind that you have to climb some stairs. There is a chairlift.

The service was excellent. I found the selection of pastries sufficient, although it could have been a bit more diverse. A tip for the service: check what the group is here for. We were there for a very special occasion. It would have been nice if they had paid attention to that.

I had the Burgundian plank dinner here with friends. It was very cozy and the restaurant was quiet, so we could hear each other well. We sat in the conservatory, which has a beautiful view of the IJsselkade and the IJssel River. The food was fine, but not exceptional. In any case, the food served was more than sufficient. Our dessert took a while to arrive, which we would have preferred a bit sooner. Otherwise, the service was excellent and friendly.

Very tasty food with 14 people, Burgundian planks, 4 courses. 1 person had an allergy and this was very well taken into account. Very friendly staff who regularly came by for drinks and to ask if everything was okay. We were there for an official anniversary.

It was very busy when we arrived (bus with guests), but we were helped quickly.

It was a bit narrow in the conservatory

Ik kwam om 16.45u binnen. Eigenaar (?) begon te schutteren over tafels die gereserveerd waren en noemde allemaal tijdstippen. Heel ongastvrij. Ik kon ook een tafel voor onbepaalde tijd krijgen. Ik zei doe die maar want ik blijf MISSCHIEN ook wel eten. Ik bestelde een Tripel. Kort nadat ik die kreeg werd er meteen een menukaart (17.00u he) onder mijn neus geschoven. Kort achterelkaar twee serveersters 'of ik al een keus had kunnen maken' terwijl ik bij de eerste al mijn ongenoegen had geuit dat ik helemaal (nog) niet wilde eten. Ik wilde eerst even lekker van mijn biertje genieten, misschien zelfs nog een tweede en pas daarna misschien iets eten. Ik had wel degelijk het plan te blijven eten maar ik voelde me opgejaagd en ben vertrokken. Ik voelde me niet welkom daar. Dus als je om 'borreltijd' binnenkomt, geeft direct duidelijk aan wat je bedoeling is (liefst met een tijdpad erbij!) want de eigenaar (?) voelt het niet aan. In mijn ogen is deze man geen horeca-man maar kan hij beter bij een kantoor gaan werken als planner.

Four people took the package of "etagère with various sandwiches and delicacies" for EUR 18.50 p.p. (excluding drinks). Delicious fresh bread, choice of white and/or brown and can also be supplemented on request. The small warm soup was delicious, as were the treats on the etagère. Unfortunately, we also found goat cheese with a fried crust, which is not quite to our taste. Next time let's say we have a goat cheese allergy :-) The atmosphere is great, partly due to the building and its location on the IJssel. The extremely friendly and polite staff also contributes 100% to this!

If you want good food for a normal price, then this is the place for you. It is a fantastic restaurant with a beautiful view, the meals are of very good quality with normal portions. If you want to eat here, book well in advance, because of the good food and service it is always busy and fully booked. The side dishes can be ordered for free and are very tasty.

Had dinner here with my partner. Reservations recommended. Friendly welcome, we had to hang up our coat ourselves. Cosy, albeit somewhat dark, decor which was offset by exuberant Christmas lights. Menu and first drinks delivered quickly. Only had a main course and a glass of house wine. The schnitzel was large, tasty and well cooked, the garnish with mushrooms and bacon was also tasty. Extensive vegetable garnish, good fries, some salty fried potatoes and vegetables, tasty stewed pears, the salad was soaked in a bit of sauce. House wine very good and at the right temperature. Total 60 euros for 2 people. Worth repeating

Excellent! We had the Lunch Etagere, a nice way of having lunch and getting surprised by different dishes. You might not like everything but it is a fun way to try new things! And not expensive at all. Service was very good, they regularly checked on us and were very fast. Also very good coffee ☕️ 👌 The place is very cozy and you have a nice view of the canal. They decorated the place for christmas as well which is very nice. Free parking on Sunday. Would love to come back!

Unfortunately we could not sit by the window, although this was confirmed in the email. Very disappointing!!! The food, on the other hand, was fine.

On the afternoon of November 24, we thought we would have a nice bite to eat. That idea went completely wrong. Speaking of soup, the tomato soup was very tasty, the mustard soup, on the other hand, was not what we had hoped for. The staff seemed very disinterested and stood behind the bar chatting while our order was forgotten twice. Unfortunately we also had a few children who disturbed us several times at our table and nothing was done about it. The food was also fine!

Unfortunately it was a bit disappointing. The card didn't provide anything special or surprising. Only after half an hour did we receive drinks and the menu, which put us in a time crunch and we were asked to vacate the table at the agreed time. No time to eat in peace or have dessert. Potatoes, fries and vegetables were far too little for the 4 of us and we had to ask for more three times. Unfortunately not recommended for us.

Beautiful location with a beautiful view over the IJssel if you have a good spot in the conservatory. Food, in our case lunch, was not special and quite pricey for what you get. Also, a dish was already finished at 12:30. The special children's menu is also nice, but personally I think 5 euros for 1 sandwich with chocolate sprinkles is ridiculous. We previously asked for 2 sandwiches, but then you simply pay 10 euros for 2 brown sandwiches with chocolate sprinkles, pasta or cheese. The pancakes used to be small American Pancakes, but are now 1 regular pancake. Not very fun anymore either. So yes; great restaurant for lunch, but slightly nicer dishes and slightly better priced would be good.

Ik hen eem heerlijke ommelet gegeten die ze op het terras van Cafe de Unie vanuit de stadsbrouwerij serveren. Heerlijke plek.

Ondanks dat we een plek bij het raam hadden gevraagd en bevestigd hadden gekregen mochten we weer ergens midden in het restaurant zitten om het interieur te bekijken. Erg jammer... Het eten was wel goed.
