Reserved at 19:30. On arrival no table available and had to wait. Not a problem in itself, but at 20:15 still no table available. After much insistence we got a table, but had to ask for drinks, ask for the menu, etc. Very poor service. Also, a lot of what was on the menu was no longer available. What was still there was certainly tasty, but that is to be expected for the price. The bill was on the high side. In short, NOT TOP.

Ordered a satay, for that price it should have some French bread!!

I highly recommend this restaurant. They also offer a few other dishes, such as the local tournedos, satay skewers, etc. The Iberico with black garlic sauce 👌😋 Also the Flat Iron Steak Top... although it could have used a bit more meat, but otherwise highly recommended 👍 The outdoor area is decorated in a cozy boho style, and the interior is old-modern and cozy. The staff is quick yet very friendly and attentive. They also accommodate individual requests regarding the food, and in my case, they were fully fulfilled 👍 Reservations are definitely required, but no problem using Google Maps.

Yesterday we had a delicious meal at the Taveerne, a cozy restaurant where dogs are also welcome! The service is nice and enthusiastic. Food and wine were fantastic! A small point of attention is the cheesecake. This turned out to be “disassembled” and that was not indicated on the menu. All in all we had a great evening and would definitely come back here!

Beforehand was fine, satay was too tough. Tournedos fine, dessert fine, was also adjusted to taste, service messy, only received 1 meal. Atmosphere inside is fine. Not completely satisfied this evening, but good to try again.

Nice tent! Delicious food and excellent service. My carpaccio had an ingredient that was not on the menu, but I didn't like it. I got another one without any fuss. Good and attractive restaurant in De Koog. Excellent attentive service and delicious food. Carpaccio was very tasty, as were the spare ribs and sole. Lots of space due to the unexpected top floor.

We arrived on time for our reservation, but then had to wait another half hour before we could be seated at our table. The starter was then served quickly, but this happened even before the bread, which apparently had not come through properly. The wait for the main course then took another hour. Although the food was excellent and the service friendly, the service really left a lot to be desired.

It's been a long time since I had such a tasty vegetable dish in a restaurant. Celeriac steak, with porcini bread gravy. Garni of crispy oyster mushroom, roasted carrot and Jerusalem artichoke. 💕🫶🏻

Great quality for the price. Sits in the middle of De Koog. The dishes were well presented and taste good. Tempura gambas is well recommended, super nice fusion with yellow curry. Sliptong well seasoned and fresh! Good ambience and service is great, fast personnels and very friendly.

Terrible service. We came here to eat with a stroller. We were assigned a high table, so our baby couldn't stay in the stroller. Another family saw us walking around with the baby and graciously offered to switch tables so the baby could sleep in the stroller while we ate. We thought this was a good idea! So we prepared to change tables, but the terrible waiter didn't think this was a good idea. Very unfriendly, he started complaining to us and the other family about the change. No one understood why this was a problem. When we asked for an extra chair, he even said that there were no extra chairs available in the restaurant. Yet another family that sat next to us at a table had 2 too many chairs at the table and offered us - also surprised by the embarrassing behavior of the waiter - a chair from their table. We had to wait 2 hours for the food, luckily with a baby who could sleep comfortably in the stroller thanks to the other family. But 2 hours is extremely long…. In the meantime, we heard the angry waiter make some inappropriate comments to children from yet another family in this restaurant, making a little too much noise for his taste. All in all, the guests in that restaurant were much more hospitable than the service, and we had to wait a very long time for our food. We won't be back, and I don't expect the other witnesses to this inhospitable behavior either! 👎👎👎

What a nice restaurant where they know everything about hosting. Top! Nice welcome, also for our dog, for which a place was immediately made available. Fantastic meal in a beautifully decorated restaurant for Christmas. Highly recommended.

The food was good, but not exceptional. What was exceptional was the attentiveness of the employees. The terrace is also extremely cozy, even in cold times. This means that a next visit is definitely recommended!

Ate fish (slip soles and cod with wild mushrooms - surprising). Nicely prepared, you pay extra for the fries. Wine is fine, but by the glass it is on the expensive side. The service is friendly and attentive. Nice tent but a bit pricey in some respects.

What a great place, cozy, cozy, very friendly service and great food. So ALL the ingredients for a dinner out. What was particularly striking was that even though it was full, you could talk normally to each other at the table. The cozy and attractive interior absorbs sound very well. We will definitely come back here.

The restaurant is beautifully and comfortably furnished! However, the reserved table wasn't ready at the agreed time so we had to wait. We also had to wait over 1.5 hours for the food. However, there was a small compensation for this. Overall, the waiters seemed very hectic and awkward. Overall, the food tasted delicious! Due to the long wait times and hectic service, we won't eat there again.

In this very cosy and warm atmophere a very tasty texels lam we had for dinner. Very butter smooth and delicious tast en tasty vegetables. Just enough food too not over eat your self and a good red wine. Dessert a flameble crème brulee For Kids a small dinner card.

The food was okay, but we probably had a bad day with the service. The young people were very dynamic, but somewhat haphazard. The water order didn't come, the beer order unfortunately didn't come either. Supplement was forgotten. Ask for dessert or coffee - none. Unfortunately there was no apology either. There is still room for improvement. You'll definitely get it.

Our first evening in Texel we chose this restaurant because of the good reviews we found online. Upon arrival we received a friendly welcome and there was still a spot available outside by the fire, the service was good from start to finish and the food was also good ◡̈

You simply must have visited the Taverne! Great cuisine, very hospitable and very nice staff! We enjoy coming back here every year.

We ordered a mushroom pasta and lamb shank. Leave it alone after 4 bites of pasta. The "sauce" was water and tasteless. The fries we received were lukewarm, the new ones had fallen into the salt pot. The lamb shank was fine in terms of meat, only the gravy was tasteless pure melted butter. Plate of pasta was taken back. Only to be told at checkout that this was simply calculated because we had eaten some of it. Poor girl at the counter had to report this to us. Owner did not intend to compensate anything. Very special. I have worked in the catering industry for years and this is not a service or way of handling a justified complaint. Bad thing. Unfortunately we won't be coming back here again. Atmosphere is great and nice music. It is not the service's fault, they are only the messenger.

Food is of excellent quality. The spareribs in particular were excellent. Very friendly service until you indicate that something is not entirely to your liking. The atmosphere changes and the customer is no longer king. Even rude with an aggressive undertone. It's a shame that the customer friendliness suddenly stops.

NEVER eat. They will return an incorrectly received drink, but it will remain on the bill. If you say anything about this, you will be treated aggressively, without a solution. The food was also bad. The food itself is delicious, unfortunately the prices are exorbitant and even fries cost extra, the dish is only served with vegetables, the cooking level was not met either, ordered medium and received bleu. But the spare ribs were very tasty. Service was nice but we also overestimated or miscalculated.

We went there for the first time yesterday because of the good reviews. And we really liked it. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We had lamb, great, spare ribs, so tender, pasta with mushrooms, so delicious and the salad with burrata. I also had green asparagus, mmmmm!!

Well, just absolutely fantastic.

We're going on holiday on Texel again. I love this island. Today we ate in De Taveerne for the first time. We would go there again and again. The staff was very, very friendly, the food was really delicious. The atmosphere is very nice and cozy. We ate pepper soup, a tapas platter for 2, leg of lamb, spare ribs and Thai curry. I can only recommend it and we will go there again.

We had a delicious meal here. Texel Leg of Lamb is highly recommended and well stewed and the meat was tender. White chocolate mousse was also wonderfully light and not too sweet. All staff were attentive and friendly. Recommended!

Good piece of meat, too bad the chef has no idea how to cook a tournedos medium. If you indicate this, you will be given the option to bake them a little further... seriously? And I have already read several comments... people come for a nice evening of food. We are not on the run. The only thing that matters is the speed to get the customer away as quickly as possible. 40 minutes for a starter and main course is clearly too fast. So fast that your food isn't even cooked!

Really good food, very nice and courteous service! The side dishes ordered should definitely be served with the skin course. They came later when asked. So work a little more on organizing the kitchen/service. That's the only reason 1 star less. Otherwise highly recommended. Mega paella, meat and fish dishes!
