We had a wonderful meal, delicious spareribs and leg of lamb. We mentioned that we wanted to share a starter, and they kindly accommodated us with extra plates. The desserts, crème brûlée and Pastel de Nata, were also delicious. The service was quick and courteous.

I ate here twice this week on Texel! It was so delicious and so cozy. It's not cheap, but it's definitely worth it! If you enjoy a cozy atmosphere and delicious food, it's definitely recommended!

We've been coming to Texel several times a year for at least 15 years, but we'd never eaten at De Taveerne before. This was our first time, and definitely not our last. The food was delicious and lovingly prepared, the restaurant is cozy and tastefully decorated, and, not unimportantly, the hospitality of the two brothers who escorted us to our table and served us kindly. Thank you, and we'll definitely see you again.

Last night I had dinner with seven people to celebrate my birthday, and I felt so special! The table was decorated, with balloons, a birthday card, a glass of bubbly, and someone sang for me! I felt truly special ❤️ and...we all had a wonderful meal and drinks (but that's perfectly normal at the Taveerne).

I went to texel island and has heard alot about the texel lamb. I was interested in trying lamb cooked in the Dutch style and it topped the expectation. Booked the restaurant via Google and enjoyed the food. Side dish order isn't necessary as the portion is good.

Delicious, super friendly staff, and a friendly atmosphere. Dogs are no problem. We'd gladly go again.

We arrived with nine people for a lovely dinner. We were treated extremely rudely by a staff member who put our reservation in the wrong time slot. Instead of moving it back a day as we requested, they moved it back two hours earlier (and we have the reservation details in our email). Instead of an apology or a simple "sorry," they immediately attacked us and acted extremely rudely. They didn't even try to find a solution. It was a very strange situation; we were completely stunned. It's clear: we won't be back.

The service was very friendly, but we won't be coming back.

I don't write reviews often, but I often eat out and visit nice restaurants. This place gets a 10+ from me; I've never had such tender spareribs. If you're on Texel, definitely stop by! The staff is great, and more importantly, the food is fantastic!

We arrived relatively early (5:30 p.m.) and it was still very empty – when we left around 7:30 p.m., all the seats were taken! The staff were really attentive and friendly. A clear menu with dishes that made it hard to choose! We will definitely come back to try the other dishes – the tournedos and sole are highly recommended – and the seasonal vegetables were "a poem"! We truly spent a wonderful evening in a cozy atmosphere and are already looking forward to our next visit!

Delicious food. Spareribs cooked so tenderly, falling off the bone, deliciously spicy. Bavette was super tender. The atmosphere inside is great. It's a shame that the items on the windowsills are very dusty and many items have a Christmas feel to them. The service is friendly.

We had a very pleasant evening at the tavern. We sat outside in late summer; the fires between the tables and the blankets made it very cozy. We had a paella where the rice was barely visible among the seafood – very filling, very tasty, and a reasonable price for the food. Highly recommended!

Hello, we had reserved a table for 7:00 p.m., received a friendly welcome, and were given a nice table by the window. Ordering was quite quick, but unfortunately, it took 1.5 hours to get our food. We think that's too long. When we politely asked, the waitress reacted very rudely, saying she was just doing her job and not in the kitchen. We think this could have been handled differently. The food was okay, but we certainly won't be coming back.

Unfortunately, the evening that started fantastically, had a very disappointing ending! We arrived at the reserved time and had been offered a drink before a table was free near the heaters outside. After three minutes, there was already a table free for us. Starters were super delicious, so was the wine. Also, my husbands salad was great. I had the Curry with chicken. The Curry itself was amazing. But as you can see in the pictures, the chicken was almost completely RAW and uncooked. Red-pinkish meat. I could not eat that. After dinner, I claimed that to the waiter. All he did was putting a knife in it and having a look in his face of “you overreact”. He did not even come back with the bill but sent a colleague along. We then claimed it again and he also did not care. They did not even remove the 5€ (!) extra fee for the chicken. Sadly, the service was extremely unsatisfying.

The restaurant is very large, which unfortunately makes the staff superficial. Very long wait times. The leg of lamb was very good, but unfortunately, everything else on the plate was a disaster. My wife's curry was apparently good. If you ask and mention this, the staff become unfriendly. A real shame.

This is my first ever review in my entire life. The experience was, simply put, terrible, terrible, and terrible. My companion and I only ordered gambas and paella, but we had to wait over two hours for the paella to arrive. What's worse, a table that arrived after us had already finished their meal and left before we even got our food. I can't help but wonder if we received such service because we were the only Asians in the restaurant. Even after waiting for such an incredibly long time, the paella was so tasteless that it almost made me sick. As you can see from the picture (if provided), I couldn't even touch the rice; I just ate the seafood on top and left. We paid 102 euros for just one dinner during our vacation. I truly question whether this was a justifiable price for such a disappointing experience. It was completely unacceptable.

I'm generally very apprehensive about ordering spare ribs. You have your own local store in your town/city that no other can compete with. But the spare ribs from De Taveerne are truly delicious! I'm normally a fan of spicy food. But these are simply delicious. You pick up a bone and the meat stays there—what do you mean, cooked?! Tender, delicious. It was truly fantastic!

Unfortunately, only 1 point for the food. My beer had a foot bath, and it dripped all over my dress. I ordered the curry with chicken. In the sauce, I could find two dark pieces, maybe mushrooms, and a few green pieces, maybe spinach. Otherwise, the sauce was thin, albeit tasty, with no other recognizable ingredients. The meat, which cost €5 on top, was okay except for a few bones, but over €23 for the dish, no, that didn't satisfy me.

Reserved at 19:30. On arrival no table available and had to wait. Not a problem in itself, but at 20:15 still no table available. After much insistence we got a table, but had to ask for drinks, ask for the menu, etc. Very poor service. Also, a lot of what was on the menu was no longer available. What was still there was certainly tasty, but that is to be expected for the price. The bill was on the high side. In short, NOT TOP.

I highly recommend this restaurant. They also offer a few other dishes, such as the local tournedos, satay skewers, etc. The Iberico with black garlic sauce 👌😋 Also the Flat Iron Steak Top... although it could have used a bit more meat, but otherwise highly recommended 👍 The outdoor area is decorated in a cozy boho style, and the interior is old-modern and cozy. The staff is quick yet very friendly and attentive. They also accommodate individual requests regarding the food, and in my case, they were fully fulfilled 👍 Reservations are definitely required, but no problem using Google Maps.

Yesterday we had a delicious meal at the Taveerne, a cozy restaurant where dogs are also welcome! The service is nice and enthusiastic. Food and wine were fantastic! A small point of attention is the cheesecake. This turned out to be “disassembled” and that was not indicated on the menu. All in all we had a great evening and would definitely come back here!

The starter was then served quickly, but this happened even before the bread, which apparently had not come through properly. The wait for the main course then took another hour. Although the food was excellent and the service friendly, the service really left a lot to be desired.

Terrible service. We came here to eat with a stroller. We were assigned a high table, so our baby couldn't stay in the stroller. Another family saw us walking around with the baby and graciously offered to switch tables so the baby could sleep in the stroller while we ate. We thought this was a good idea! So we prepared to change tables, but the terrible waiter didn't think this was a good idea. Very unfriendly, he started complaining to us and the other family about the change. No one understood why this was a problem. When we asked for an extra chair, he even said that there were no extra chairs available in the restaurant. Yet another family that sat next to us at a table had 2 too many chairs at the table and offered us - also surprised by the embarrassing behavior of the waiter - a chair from their table. We had to wait 2 hours for the food, luckily with a baby who could sleep comfortably in the stroller thanks to the other family. But 2 hours is extremely long…. In the meantime, we heard the angry waiter make some inappropriate comments to children from yet another family in this restaurant, making a little too much noise for his taste. All in all, the guests in that restaurant were much more hospitable than the service, and we had to wait a very long time for our food. We won't be back, and I don't expect the other witnesses to this inhospitable behavior either! 👎👎👎

The food was good, but not exceptional. What was exceptional was the attentiveness of the employees. The terrace is also extremely cozy, even in cold times. This means that a next visit is definitely recommended!

What a great place, cozy, cozy, very friendly service and great food. So ALL the ingredients for a dinner out. What was particularly striking was that even though it was full, you could talk normally to each other at the table. The cozy and attractive interior absorbs sound very well. We will definitely come back here.

The restaurant is beautifully and comfortably furnished! However, the reserved table wasn't ready at the agreed time so we had to wait. We also had to wait over 1.5 hours for the food. However, there was a small compensation for this. Overall, the waiters seemed very hectic and awkward. Overall, the food tasted delicious! Due to the long wait times and hectic service, we won't eat there again.

In this very cosy and warm atmophere a very tasty texels lam we had for dinner. Very butter smooth and delicious tast en tasty vegetables. Just enough food too not over eat your self and a good red wine. Dessert a flameble crème brulee For Kids a small dinner card.
