What a lovely place De Vier Broers is! From the moment you step inside, everything is just right: a great atmosphere and the music is perfectly tuned for a cozy dinner. The service deserves high praise; attentive, friendly, and genuinely hospitable. And the food was truly fantastic! You can tell from everything that it is prepared with craftsmanship and passion. So good, in fact, that I will definitely be back soon to try a tasty grilled meat dish. Highly recommended!

BEAUTIFUL CAFE RESTAURANT IN THE SQUARE OF THE CHURCH OF OUR GOOD LADY. NICE INTERIOR AND COMFORTABLE SPACE. WITH A SEMI-OUTDOOR AREA WITH A GLASS CEILING THAT CAN ALSO BE USED AS A PRIVATE SPACE FOR A LARGE GROUP. WE WANTED TO STAY FOR FOOD, BUT THE KITCHEN OPENS AT 5, SO WE LEFT. RECOMMENDED FOR COFFEE AND FOOD.

We ended up sitting on the terrace here because it was completely full elsewhere. De Vier Broers isn't what it used to be. An uninviting terrace with an awful lot of trash on the ground, including even a gnawed bone on the ground next to me!! Yuck!! The plastic flowers in a small vase nowadays look cheap and shabby. The food is okay, but nothing special. The meat on the skewer really could have been a bit more tender. Compliments to the boy with the red curls. He served us in a pleasant, friendly, and cheerful manner!

Very good steal restaurant in the old town part of Amersfoort where they serve great meat dishes. Friendly staff. Pit/Grill Master grills your meat to perfection. Highly recommend!

Super nice little place, tasty burger and served quickly. A bread roll on the house beforehand, you don't see that very often anymore. Great spot!

Just grabbing a drink on the terrace. It took a long time, no logic. They walked by to clear up but didn't take our order right away. We thought about ordering some bitter garnish but gave up. It wasn't that busy anyway. A shame, because the location is nice.

They truly specialize in delicious meat, grilled on the Josper. As a result, the prices might be a bit higher than average. Additionally, there is a wide selection of various beers on tap and in bottles, fine wines, and soft drinks. There is plenty of seating inside and also a lovely terrace.

Had a delicious meal! The atmosphere was cozy and pleasant. Nice staff, and the Tomahawk steak for two was amazing! The starter was also surprising and was very well received. We will definitely be back! Unfortunately, the second time was a bit disappointing; the same starter was really different this time and not worth the price (meat tasting). The Tomahawk steak, however, was good again!

It was fun….. Not We had to wait 20 minutes for our drinks and we waited for 1 hour for lunch and it was yuck. I had salmon salad I thought it was going to be good but no it was only the same salad and we had to get our own forks and while the other people got is right away. Disappointed 😕😕

Spent a Saturday evening here with six adults. We reserved and our table was ready on time. Restaurant was busy. I wanted a basic gin martini and was told it was unavailable and I could only order from the 2 martinis on menu or I could order a gin & tonic (I'm not a tonic drinker). Server had to be asked 3 times to bring water to the table. I changed it up to wine. We ordered apps to share which was good and our main dishes. My steak kebab was tasty and a couple people ordered salmon which they enjoyed. Unfortunately one person ordered a steak that contained lots of grizzle. We then shared desserts. The chocolate lava cakes were very small but the cheese plate generous. I went to the bathroom and saw a beautiful bar area...you know...the one that couldn't make a gin martini. For that reason, I do not recommend this restaurant.

Great beer selection, and we loved the starters and the dinner itself. The staff was friendly and polite. We had burgers and kebabs for main courses, and a meat and vegan starter. The sauces were excellent. Goat cheese with avocado tartare and mango sauce was a great combination. Thank you so much!

The food was delicious, but very expensive for what you get. €160 for 2 people, which tasted decent, is a bit pricey. Certainly not bad, but considering the price and quantity, not recommended.

We went out for dinner on Christmas Day. We sat down at 6 p.m. and ended up leaving at 9:30 p.m. without a main course. We had to ask for drinks, sandwiches, the menu, and the appetizer. After a while, the waitstaff ignored us because they themselves were embarrassed by how long it was taking. Finally, two hours after arriving, we received an appetizer. The two of us who came in were clearly given priority; throughout the evening, several tables were occupied by other guests several times, while we didn't receive any food. After 2.5 hours, I asked how long it would be, and a server said, "10 more minutes." After 15 minutes, I asked again. Another server said it would be another 20/30 minutes because they hadn't even started yet. It's unacceptable to have to leave after 3.5 hours just because you don't get any food. We finally ended up at McDonald's at 10 p.m. Disappointed!

Great interior, but the service needs work. Food takes a long time (50 mins for a burger) and is average at best. Be careful with the check: the waiter misheard my order, took the wrong item back, but forgot to remove it from the bill. I can only recommend this place for drinks and snacks, not for dinner

The daily special (venison steak with wild mushroom sauce) is not to be missed, I have no idea why I haven't been here before... and why it's so quiet here.

The food here is truly excellent, and its central location makes it a wonderful restaurant to dine at. I chose the meat tasting menu for my main course, which is 100x more delicious than it sounds. It's a bit pricey, but well worth it. The service is very prompt and incredibly friendly.

Had dinner with three people. The place is called "De Vier Gebroeders" (The Four Brothers), because they had to have four brothers sit on my burger before I got it. Bone dry, just like my short-nosed dog's skewer. Anyway, not recommended.

It's a great place if you're looking for a quick bite to eat and then move on. The food was good, but the service could be much friendlier and more welcoming. It's okay for a quick bite, but I wouldn't go there for a casual evening out.

Easy menu You can choose between 3 appetizers and 3 main courses And dessert. Very tasty. The beer menu is clear and excellent. Tasting platter and lots of Belgian beers. The atmosphere is great. I say just go for it.

Cozy and delicious food and drinks

Had a fantastic experience. A charming restaurant in the beautiful historic center of Amersfoort, which is larger than you'd think from the outside. The restaurant has two entrances: one through the bar on the side street and one from the square. Friendly and professional staff, and well-prepared dishes. My husband's skewered meat had the perfect texture, and my beetroot risotto with truffle was delicious. Thank you!

Those who sow sparingly will reap sparingly. Wow, a beer poured with 8 cm of foam, a bavette with 3 small pieces of vegetables, and one small portion of fries for two people. The smallest cappuccino I've ever had. People in the hospitality industry. Sky-high prices and getting less and less!!!

A cozy place with very friendly service

My wife and I enjoyed a delicious lunch on Saturday, September 6th. It was lovely in the sunshine with some shade. There are some lovely spots to sit in this beautiful part of Amersfoort near the Lang Jan. The food and drinks were excellent. They let you enjoy your lunch at your leisure. The service was friendly and efficient. I highly recommend sitting down "in my Amersfoort, where I myself was now a tourist."

We went to dinner at De Vier Broers with seven people. The food was quite good, but considering the prices, I expected more. We constantly had to ask for everything ourselves. Whether we could see the menu, order drinks, etc. Then it took 10 to 15 minutes each time before we got our drinks. We were seven men celebrating someone's birthday, so you can imagine we finished our drinks faster than we waited, which we found very annoying. Then we had to go through a lot of trouble asking if we could order drinks. Then, things were forgotten several times. Finally, we ordered desserts, and again, a few were forgotten. The whole table finished their dessert, and two people were left to eat theirs unsociably while everyone else had already finished. In short: It took a long time (it wasn't super busy), the price-quality ratio could be better, but we had a pleasant evening (but that's more the company than the restaurant).

The food is not ok. Tried 2 separate dishes (Risotto & Libanese) and only the fries were ok. It was one of the worst culinary experiences of my life.

Ended up with a burger, but had 3 different, really nice beers from the area. Big, nice patio with big umbrellas that covered us from the rain. Highly recommend this place!

You can't call pressing a ready-made supermarket burger a smash burger; it's a very misleading term. It's just a tasteless, ready-made burger patty. Plus, you'll be bombarded with bird droppings on the patio.

We understand that prices are rising, but we found €34.50 for a bavette smaller than your hand rather meager. And if you then ordered fries to satisfy your appetite and they still didn't arrive after coffee, it left an aftertaste that we felt didn't match our previous excellent experiences at De 4 Broers. But paying around €100 for two and then leaving without a full stomach isn't what we think you're aiming for.

Very friendly staff! We had reservations for a Latin party, and the weather was nice, so everyone sat outside and a table was set up right away. The food was delicious.

I can't judge the food and atmosphere. It's because I can't give 0 stars, but what a bad service. After more than 20 minutes we left. Especially after we saw that people who came later than us were helped and we were then again skipped.

Ate here for the second time. The first experience was quite positive. Some long waiting times, but the friendly staff made up for it. The second time we unfortunately had the same. It really took quite a while before someone came to the table and that also applied to the dishes. We all three had a carpaccio roll as a starter. The taste was fine, but really an overkill of lettuce. Which made the entire dish quite bland. This comment was clearly not appreciated by the face of the host. The skewer was really delicious. All in all a mediocre experience and for the amount we had to pay, I would have expected better.

Look for new staff. Reserved at 18:45 of course neatly reported. Waiter says find a nice spot. Nice to sit outside. Literally in front of the entrance on the terrace where the staff constantly walks by. After more than 20 minutes no drink offered or menu card so just left, and had a nice meal at Hete Kolen. (just around the corner) so also recommended for everyone to go there. There neatly helped, good food and good service, and also gave €20.00 tip there. In short, go to Hete Kolen instead of de Vier Broers, unless you are on a diet.

Special experience at the Vier Broers today. The service had forgotten to place our order for the starter, so the main course came first. We have never experienced this before. We were not even asked if we wanted to change the order. We quickly discussed whether we wanted to do this. Some of our group still wanted the starter. So today we ate the starter after the main course. As compensation, we got a free drink. That was nice. For the money, you can eat better elsewhere. Disappointing.

Disappointing experience at 4 Broers Unfortunately, my visit to 4 Broers in Amersfoort was quite disappointing. The crab cocktail tasted downright nasty, the lamb dishes were dry and the carpaccio had no taste at all. The entrecote and bavette were also bland and tasteless. Only the diamond hare was tasty – that was the only positive thing about the food. In addition, I tried to use the perfume machine in the men's toilet. After entering €5, nothing happened. When I reported this to the bar, I was told that the machine was from an external party and that they could not do anything about it. On top of that, I also got a smart-alecky remark: "Thank you for your 5 euros." Very unfriendly and unprofessional. To make matters worse, another customer tried the perfume machine again later – with a different perfume and now €7 in it – and again it did not work. Apparently this is a recurring problem, which is not being addressed. Fortunately, there was one bright spot: Roan from the service. He was sociable, friendly and made sure the drinks were on the table quickly. Compliments for his service - he is the only reason this review is not completely negative. All in all a very disappointing experience. Beautiful location, but that alone is unfortunately not enough to come back again.

The service was not friendly and especially slow and careless. Too bad because we used to come here often. For example, they forgot the wine with the dish, luxury dessert came much later than the coffee, some laughing, sarcastic handling of our limoncello was lukewarm. Ok, it was a busy evening but despite the many staff it was just chaotic. Plenty of space to organize this more efficiently and effectively (weren't the owners there?).

We celebrated our wedding at De Vier Broers and it was truly fantastic from start to finish! The reception took place at the atmospheric Onze Lieve Vrouwetoren in Amersfoort, which was beautifully decorated. The champagne, the music and all the details surrounding it were perfectly taken care of by the team at De Vier Broers. Then we cut the cake in the Herenkamer and had a nice drink. That moment was also arranged down to the last detail. After the drinks we enjoyed a delicious dinner. The food was delicious and I felt very well cared for by the staff. Due to my allergies, my meal was specially adapted — and that was done with so much care and attention. The staff were incredibly sweet and attentive; I really wanted for nothing. What a great team! Many thanks to everyone at De Vier Broers for making such a beautiful and warm day possible. Highly recommended!

Ordered coffee and a Radler, they didn't have these anymore. Changed choice to a Coke, had to wait almost a full 20 minutes for this. When it finally arrived, immediately asked for the bill, had to wait a long time for this too. Went inside to pay myself.

It was before my birthday, we had a nice beer tasting. It was very cozy inside. We were generally served quickly. There are nice people working inside. The snacks were tasty and the beers were also very tasty. It was very big inside. You can also eat out there. And upstairs you can also rent a room. The 4 brothers did a good job!!

RIDICULOUSLY bad experience! Ordered two simple main courses. Waited half an hour, nothing came. Waited for an hour, nothing came. Sat outside at De Vier Broers and the sandwiches were delicious! However, it took a very long time to be helped. The service was just fine.

The food is good, the tomato soup and sandwiches are deliciously prepared and worth 4 stars. The service, on the other hand, sucks. 40 minutes before lunch order was taken. Then 50 minutes to serve a sandwich. Soup without a spoon... can happen. Indicated whether we can still get that spoon. Oh yeah sure, apologies. Then it is not delivered and 15 minutes later you have to ask again. Finally, I ordered a glass of water several times, which was finally served after 30 minutes. We have had better experiences here in the past. So maybe it was because we were there on a Sunday afternoon?

And then the staff: great how the young people do their best! You really feel like a guest there!!!! Great if we're in the area, we'll definitely go there.

The food was nice. We asked for dry-aged tomahaw but it wasn't that intense as it should be but it was really good cooked. The service on the other hand was a complete disappointment. One hour to take the order from our table and the drinks. The cutlery wasn't in place before we were sitted and we had to go and pick up the menu's before we order. The only time that the waiter was really fast was once we asked for the bill.

Man,man,man, I'm not amused and that rarely happens! After waiting quite a long time upon entering an almost empty restaurant, we were vaguely assigned a spot, when we sat down we clearly saw that it was a table where people had eaten and the table had not been set out and cleaned! Our host was extremely slow and although he was friendly he clearly did not feel like helping us this evening, we ordered cocktails which took 40 minutes and it was only after 20 minutes of ordering that it was indicated that the chosen drinks could not be made, but she made up for it with a huge full glass of drinks. We asked for a carafe of water no fewer than 3 times and it never came. There was a young blonde girl behind the bar who understands how it works and immediately helped us with water, missing plates and informed the slow server to set up cutlery for us. By the way, while making the cocktails, the girl was constantly licking the syrup with her left index finger and then grabbed the syrup bottle, shaker and glasses without washing her hands. Quite dirty! We eventually indicated that we wanted to have dinner and after asking twice we asked another host for the menu. We had to wait more than an hour for medium rare tomahawk, meat was nicely cooked as requested, just a pity that the garnish on the board where the meat was on was cold, which unfortunately did not improve the purees. The slow clerk was very quick when it came to the bill, within a minute he was ready with a pin machine and was so quick that he had entered the amount incorrectly.
