The best fries I've eaten in a long time! Just the right amount of crispy and a good portion for the price.

Had lunch today at the chip masters, I must honestly admit that it is much better than the previous owners. The fries were fresh, crispy and perfectly salted. There are also many gluten-free options and the menu is very diverse. The fries were delicious, definitely recommended. The owners are also very friendly, I will definitely come back

My girlfriend ordered fries here yesterday, this place used to have the tastiest fries and peanut sauce. What have they done with it now? I have no idea, but the fries were overfried and the peanut sauce had a really weird taste. It used to be the Vlaamse Reus and now there are new people in it under the name Friet masters. Piggybacking on the old name but not delivering the same quality. I won't order here again.

When I get there I'm really looking forward to peanut fries and frikandel sandwich. Placed my order and everything seemed fine Good to go. 2 minutes later he comes out and they are out of peanut sauce and sandwiches. In the end we had a nice meal, but it was a shame about the peanut sauce and sandwiches

Ordered here yesterday, what a huge disappointment. Previously this was the "Vlaamse Reus" and it is now called "Frietmeesters". I thought that only the name had changed, but it quickly became clear that these were the new owners, because their fries were not good, were limp and had a very nasty taste. In addition, the peanut sauce was not tasty at all. All in all, it's a shame that this business has taken the place of the old owners. I won't order from here again!

Today we got some fries again at what used to be De Vlaamse Reus. What delicious fries they have here. Still the same potatoes, they said. Deliciously baked. Not greasy, no small pieces. Friendly service. This is highly recommended if you want to get some fries.

Today I had fries there with my family. I took a small one and my boys and girlfriend a medium. the portions were really nicely balanced and even a small one felt like a meal. (and that in this day and age ;) The fries tasted really good, robust, well-fried and the skin on top was delicious. Staff involved and the satay sauce really tasty.. top place!

When I walked into this new place today I was more disappointed than I ever imagined. People reacted derogatorily to my choice of sauce (Chili sauce for a bamboo seems quite normal to me). Afterwards my bami disc was frozen twice on the inside. Received the money back and promised never to come back here again. It's a pity that the Flemish giant has to close for such a rubbish tent.

I used to go to the Flemish Giant and it was delicious!!! Unfortunately it has now been taken over and it is called fries masters... really not recommended!!!! During the time I was there, 2 orders already went wrong. We had 2 large fries, 1 with peanut sauce and a frikadel special. The fries were well cooked but very salty, the peanut sauce was not yet black and tasted really bad and not at all like that!!! The frikadel is in a plastic container and they only put the sauce in the corner (for that money, take the time to cut it open and distribute the sauce) I might as well use my own sauce at home! No, it's a real shame and then you have to pay money for a bag and lose a total of 14 euros. I never knew you could spice up fries and snacks like this!

Frietmeesters took over the Vlaamsche Reus in March. Unfortunately, the range has changed as a result. The chicken nuggets, for example: this was chicken fillet with a crispy crust, now that is something you can also buy in the supermarket. Pity. The only plus is that the fries have remained the same. Fries are just good. We thought it was strange that this snack bar can no longer be found on home delivery under the name Vlaamsche Reus. Now we understand why. We will not order from here again.

This was always my favorite place for fries, but after the owner passed away I was concerned about whether the quality would remain as good. What struck me most, however, is the unhygienic way of working (snacks unrefrigerated and loose on the bar/receipts) and how dirty and chaotic the whole place is (there was a knife on the floor, which staff passed by several times. The whole thing comes across as inexperienced and uninterested. .

Wow, what awful fries we ate at the Vlaamse Reus this afternoon. All small pieces and crumbs and fried way too hard in old fat and all for 9 euros! Really a waste of your money. Bad aftertaste, never again!

Kom al jarenlang langs bij de Vlaamsche Reus, het is onderdeel van een dagje Haarlem voor ons! Altijd lekker gegeten, porties zijn goed en sausjes heerlijk! Goede ligging in een zijstraatje midden in het centrum!

Vroeger was dit de lekkerste, maar het afgelopen jaar is het erg achteruit gegaan. De patat is absoluut niet lekker meer, lijkt in oud vet te worden gebakken en veel te hard. En ik had de laatste keer een hamburger die keihard was, het is dat ik al thuis was en echt geen zin had om terug te gaan maar dit was gewoon niet te eten. En dan nog is 25 euro voor niet lekkere patat en 2 burgers!

Fijne tent loop er met liefde een stukje voor om goed eten fijne sfeer en goede service is een aanrader

Ik heb heerlijk genoten van de frietjes, patat hoort lekker zout, maar niet te vet..dus ik zeg doen! Een patatje oorlog met genoeg saus dat je genieten kunt tot onderin het zakje..ja klopt er zitten veel harde stukjes onder de tuut..maarja..dat is niet anders..had trek..dus alles opgegeten 😉

Mijn patat bestond bijna alleen uit kleine, vette, harde stukjes.

Beroerd. Ik zeg het maar eerlijk. Beneden de maat voor een bovenmaatse prijs. Bakje vol met gruis en restjes die niet voor het eerst in de frituur hadden gelegen. Veel kleine brokken en stukken, weinig mooie frites. Slecht gesneden en zonder enige aandacht gefrituurd.

Vandaag weer langs geweest voor een tussendoortje-Belgisch. De eigenaar is twee weken geleden plotseling overleden, maar het ziet er naar uit dat de Vlaamse Reus blijft doordraaien. R.I.P. eigenaar. Als ik zin heb in een frietje dan rij ik desnoods om voor deze patat. Echt zonder overdrijven de beste friet van Haarlem en omstreken. Ik weet niet hoe ze het voor elkaar krijgen maar deze friet verveelt nooit. Wanneer je ook komt, altijd dezelfde super kwaliteit. En helemaal lekker met de Belgische La William mayonaise, zo eet ik hem graag, héérlijk.

Der Vlaamsche Reus an sich ein kleines schnuckliges Pommesbüdchen in einer Seitenstraße in Haarlem. Allerdings trügt der Schein ein wenig. Die Pommes waren zügig fertig und Saucen waren auch lecker, aber als ich in meine Pommestüte das erste mal nach einer Pommes griff, kam mir ein ziemlich langes Frauenhaar entgegen. Die Pommes waren oben in der Tüte sehr lecker und an sich nicht schlecht, wurden allerdings nach unten hin immer schlechter und vor allem immer härter. Ich hatte mich explizit gefreut, eine glutenfreie Frikandel zu essen, leider hatten sie diese nicht da, was nicht schlimm. Das Essen sorgt, auch nach längerem Abstand, dafür das man immer wieder aufstößt und das Gefühl von Fülle im Magen hat. Am Ende war es ein schöner Tag in der Stadt Haarlem, aber das Highlight war der Vlaamsche Reus leider nicht

Dit is voor mij de allerbeste patat zaak van haarlem . Alles zelfgemaakt . Mooie knapperige frites . Niet sjoemelen met restjes . Voldoende Maya . Ongekende goede patat . Mogelijk beste uit Nl want ik heb op mijn 60 ste aardig wat patat gegeten . Bij de westermarkt Amsterdam komt/kwam in de buurt . En vroeger in de t’s peterstraat . Maar dit is een omweg waard voor de liefhebber

Patatje oorlog besteld. Blijf persoonlijk een puntzak een drama vinden om uit te eten. Maar het nieuwe houten vorkje is helemaal een frustratie puntje..na meerdere patatjes in tweeën te hebben gehakt hiermee ben ik maar met mijn vingers tussen de satésaus en de mayo gedoken om de halve frietjes eruit te vissen en op te eten.
