De Waterreus in Wijk 07 Scheveningen

Se puede caminar directamente desde la playa o bulevar en este elegante pabellón. La amplia terraza ofrece la mejor vista de todas: el mar. Servicio atento y profesional, mientras que los platos son sencillos pero bien preparados. Los precios son justos para un pabellón de playa, después de todo, la vista es parte de lo que está pagando. En general, este es sin duda uno de los mejores pabellones de playa en Scheveningen.

Wenn es in die Niederlande geht, dann nach Scheveningen und nur ins de Watereus :-)))) Klasse location, toller Service, Drinks bezahlbar - alles top !!!!

Tijdens ons verblijf in Den Haag gingen wij dineren in restaurant de Waterreus. Het restaurant ligt aan zee in Scheveningen. Het was een zonnige dag. De bediening was vlot en vriendelijk. Het uitzicht op strand en zee fenomenaal. Het eten was heerlijk. Al met al een aanrader.

Después de comer y beber solicité un grifo de agua con mi expreso, pero me lo negaron porque “el dueño nos ha dicho que no lo hagamos”. Terminamos tomando un café en otra parte. Este era mi restaurante de playa favorito, pero es poco probable que vuelva a visitar. No es que no haya muchas opciones.

Waardeloos restaurant, was vroeger beter. Het eten is redelijk, maar te duur voor de kwaliteit. Slechte bediening (ik begrijp dat het moeilijk is om goed personeel te vinden). Na onze bestelling kwam er nog twee keer iemand langs om de bestelling op te nemen. De jongen die ons bediende had hele vieze nagels!!!! Meisje haalde onze wijn glazen weg voordat we een keuze uit de wijnkaart hadden gemaakt. De espresso is heel, heel slecht. Schaf eens een italiaans espresso-apparaat aan.

Probablemente uno de los clubes de playa más bonitos de la playa de Scheveningen. Sin embargo, el servicio es lento, el personal no está alerta y tarda mucho en reconocerlo y saludarlo como huésped. Además, tomar su pedido podría tomar un tiempo. Están charlando y comiendo en el bar, si estuvieran igual de alertas y atentos a sus invitados, esto realmente aumentaría sus ventas y la experiencia de los invitados. La comida está bien, las bebidas están bien.

Sehr schönes und eher nobles Restaurant. Dies war aber der einzige Pluspunkt. Wir Haben gefrühstückt. Platte sah schön aus. Toastbrot jedoch nicht getoastet. Vielleicht ist dies hier so? Speck schwamm im Fett. Früchte im Müesli nicht süss. Das Ganze leider eine Enttäuschung. Währen wir frühstückten putzten sie die Fenster daneben und schüttelten die Kissen der Coaches aus.

Na een heerlijke dag wilde wij afsluiten bij de Waterreus. Het begon goed, maar na het bestellen van het eten ging het bergafwaarts. Eerst lang wachten waarna er eerst 2 gerechten op tafel kwamen en 3 minuten later pas de andere twee. De twee 'rare' tournedos waren bijna doorbakken en als kers op de taart zat er nog een haar in een ook. Na het eten hebben we nog een goede 25 tot 30 minuten moeten wachten op het afruimen. Toen we de rekening wilde vragen moesten we zoeken naar personeel om aan te spreken. Al met al een duur etentje met een lage kwaliteit. Zonde

Tolle Location direkt am Strand - ideal für Zwischenstopp beim Strandspaziergang oder auch für einen schnellen Snack oder Drink.

Vraag een bonnetje en kijk alles goed na! We gingen hierheen voor een late lunch en werden eerst goed geholpen door een vriendelijke ober. Toen we de rekening vroegen, kregen we echter een oudere man die kwam afrekenen. We pinden meer dan €90, wat ons veel leek. Ik vroeg hem om een bonnetje, maar dat was volgens hem een probleem. Toen ik aandrong, verdween hij naar binnen. Mijn man keek ondertussen op de kaart naar de prijzen en kwam een lager bedrag uit. Toen de ober terug opdook met het gevraagde bonnetje, vouwde hij dat helemaal op zodat ik het bedrag niet kon zien. Toen ik de rekening toch controleerde, kwam hij ineens met cash geld aanzetten voor het verschil, omdat hij zich enkele euro's vergist had. Hoezo vergist?

Cool location with equally cool employees.

Deze plek is niet geschikt voor grotere groepen. Meer fan anderhalf uur op het eten wachten. En dan krijg je het nog zo goed als koud op tafel.

It was fine but unfortunately a bit disappointing. I arranged a menu myself. We noticed that other people were helped more quickly, so in our opinion the service could have been better. We wanted something to drink but no one agreed to it. Luckily we didn't have to wait long for our drinks and food once we ordered it. The food tasted and looked good but not very special.

We like to come here for a bite to eat, the place is beautifully decorated and has a beautiful location. The prices are a bit higher, but that is standard at the seaside and the service is sometimes a bit inexperienced or takes a little longer. But recently we shared mussels together and it was incredibly tasty and nicely served. We will definitely do that again. The gourmet is also very tasty.

Deplorable service 1h15 wait! At the first reminder, the waitress says that this will happen, but in fact, after discussion with the owner, the order had not been issued.

A beautiful sunny autumn day along the beach. Exquisite dishes, beautiful wine presented to us by an exemplary service-minded lady, SIMONE, who really provided us and our birthday guests from Drenthe with delicious food and drinks all afternoon. In all the years at De Waterreus, never before such great service. Really TOP!

Fantastic venue, pleasant staff and delicious food. Spent an afternoon for the second time with our whole family. Online reservations are easy, taking into account the customer's wishes. We'll be back!! Monique

Sunday morning breakfast buffet. Very relaxing well stocked buffet, hot cold sweet and savory. Friendly staff, we made a reservation with a larger group and got a nice spot. Easily accessible on foot and/or with a wheelchair.

After several pleasant visits, now a clear failure in the field of customer friendliness. Due to stomach complaints, I asked if something other than fries was possible in one dish. After consultation I agreed to extra vegetables, provided with as little pepper as possible. What came to the table seemed right with extra pepper (at least half). When asked if everything was satisfactory, this was reported. Was good in the system. Waiter shares this with colleagues who then turn to look at us, which my wife did not appreciate and commented on this again. Waiter insulted. To top it all off, extra vegetables were also added to the bill! Too bad because we liked coming here.

Cozy place. Friendly staff. Breakfast buffet is tasty, but in terms of choice and quality, not fantastic. The money must include water, coffee and tea.

We were here for breakfast. Very inviting both inside and outside. You immediately feel comfortable. The price-performance ratio is absolutely reasonable and the service is very accommodating. It was a pleasure to end our vacation here.

Relax in the sun, spacious beach tent with good spots. Drinks are brought quickly after ordering, food takes a little longer but what you get is fine!👍🏾

Package paid for 20, €2100 euros. Ultimately, due to cancellations, we ate with 10 people, and therefore paid for a lot of food that was never prepared. Any compensation was not possible, even a container to take away the leftover food cost €1.50 per container.. service was disinterested (except for a few servers), and it was noticeable that it was not appreciated that we asked for compensation.

Beautiful place on the beach. But all attention was focused on a table in the middle. The high society. We just walked in to order something. After 45 minutes it was served. Lukewarm drinks and a croquette sandwich for 3 people for 60 euros. No success.

Not a good experience here. After our starter was finished, we waited more than half an hour for the main course. When after many beckoning the waitress finally came to us and we asked where our food was, she said "it was coming now". That turned out not to be the case at all, because she then walked inside to order the kitchen to prepare our food. What came to the table next was certainly not worth the more than 45-minute wait. And neither does the money. It wasn't much and it was quite tasteless (apparently the kitchen had forgotten all the spices in the rush).

Enjoyed a fantastic barbecue during our family day. Everything was beautifully displayed, beautifully laid out dishes. For dessert a delicious ice cream cake with fireworks. The food tasted really delicious!

The atmosphere is great, the food tastes good but was not that special. I think the prices are very high.

From a brunch perspective: lovely. No idea what dinner or something else is like. Breakfast is a blast: fresh mint tea, pancakes, eggs, bacon, bread, pastries, croissants, you name it. Mild breeze in the relative freshness of a summer morning while sipping your cappuccino: it's difficult to beat that feeling. Staff is cool with your pace, taking care of you.

A beach restaurant with lots of visitors. Despite the very full restaurant, we were seated quickly (reservations were available and recommended on weekends). The ambience convinced us in a nice beach style which is a bit more elegant. Unfortunately the service was a bit slow. Sure, the restaurant was full, but I find 5 people in one area a bit questionable. For once there was only one of us who also served other areas. The staff were very friendly. The food was very good. The fish was tender and well seasoned.

We waited here for over 40 minutes until someone took our order. That's why we left. There was no serious response to this.

Nice location on the beach. Smooth operation. The kibbeling was delicious. Prices on the menu are just too high. Too bad there is a lady with a saucer near the toilet. That feels so touristy and cheap.

Nice place but the service is poor, unfriendly older man at the counter, there was no greeting or smile from the beginning, only at the end when he received a big tip he suddenly turned out to be able to laugh and talk.

Mooie plek maar de service is bagger, onvriendelijke oudere man in de bediening, er kon geen groet of glimlach vanaf in het begin, pas op het einde toen hij een flinke fooi kreeg bleek die ineens wel te kunnen lachen en praten.

Al jaren top zaak met lekker eten, vlotte bediening en een relaxte sfeer. Prijzen zijn hoog maar wel in verhouding. 👍👍👍👍

Good location on the south side of Scheveningen. The food is good, my wife really enjoyed the mussels, prepared the traditional way. Service was a bit overwhelmed on this busy day, but it was compensated by the great sunset.

Despite the crowds, we received good help and a delicious lunch. A quick photo isn't too much to ask. Class for these hard workers

Horrible service, aggressive waiters, especially that waitress with dark skin, she was terribly rude. Ugly atmosphere. I definitelly won't recommend.

Actually the kitchen is 'too small' for a restaurant that is too large. We waited almost an hour and a half for our food. The catch of the day was sea bass with a béarnaise sauce that seemed to have dried out a bit, as if it had been on the plate for a long time. Unlike the mussels, which were delicious. The atmosphere is fine. But it took a very long time before we could order, so in my opinion you are too big, there is a shortage of staff everywhere, then you might have to consider reducing the size of the terrace to maintain the quality.

The place is nice and located on the beach But.the.service...not.fast or efficient. Forgot our fries... we had to ask for them twice and especially then... we had to ask for them to pay... we feel that the boss is irritated that her waitress didn't do her job. But she herself, instead of smiling and giving us a few words to make us wait, speaks quickly in Flemish to another waitress... we wait there without understanding before realizing that one of them has gone looking for the original waitress to collect... it's long and without any attention. Not to mention the fries: €7 for a ridiculous mini tray In short, move on!

Location and decoration are really good, I love the atmosphere, the facilities is accessible for wheelchairs (check the pictures) they have convenient ramp. They have direct access to the beach and some places to sit on the sand with umbrellas. Compared to other places on the beach, I consider it clean, for the restaurant, terrace and toilet. Staff is efficient and helpful, some of them can be more kind. Compared to other places on the beach, I consider it pricey. I don’t see any justification for it. They serve breakfast buffet every Sunday from 9-12 at reasonable price, 14.5 euros.

Nice place, very quiet and spacious. However, it is unacceptable that you have to pay to go to the bathroom and in advance for the food which, after forty minutes of waiting, still does not arrive and they reply that you can also wait hours. The customer must be (minimally) cared for, not fleeced.

We only had a drink, but I thought the ales on the menu were quite pricey. Operation is fine.

Waterhuus is a gem! The place is lovely, and the staff is incredibly kind and helpful. Highly recommend especially the Campari Spritz!

Spent all day at the Waterreus on Sunday. We started with a delicious breakfast buffet, which was constantly replenished and everything was very tasty! Then we rented sunbeds on the beach, got take-away drinks and had dinner in the evening. The food is very tasty, the portions are good, a very nice beach bar with a cozy atmosphere and the service is very friendly!!! We will definitely come back here. Only a 4-minute walk from Q-park beach road.

Food was cold, portions way too small and especially the quality of the products is ridiculous considering the price.

After waiting for quite some time, we finally got our food. As soon as we tasted the food, we’ve noticed how cold the food was and the meat was not fully cooked, nearly raw. The fries were not really tasty as well. Overall not a good experience. Cold and expensive. One can definitely expect more from the price of 24€.

Had dinner on the terrace with three people. When the main course is served, a huge load of sand is spilled over the table and into the food. The gentleman turns his nose at this and then walks away. When we report the problem (there is a shovel of sand in the food) we are told that this is bad luck. Then we should have just sat inside. Oh yes, and whether you would like to pay 50 cents for every toilet visit. Yes, even if you are a customer. Incomprehensible.

Expensive food with very small portions. You have to pay for going to the bathroom even when you're a paying customer, which is just insane to me. Service was very slow.

We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary in a small and cozy atmosphere at Waterreus, where everyone was served a very tasty dish. We were able to redeem our Lekker en Weg VVV gift vouchers (highly recommended :-).

Shame about the bald waiter with an arrogant attitude towards dark people. That immediately ruins the atmosphere if you are looked at like junk. The waitress who spoke English came across as a sweet, spontaneous girl. The drinks and food were tasty.

Had a delicious meal at this beautiful and attractive beach pavilion with an extensive menu and very friendly service. Despite the crowds, we were helped quickly, we received our drinks almost immediately and we didn't have to wait long for our food.

A really top restaurant, I am staying at the Intel Marine Hotel for 5 nights and we thoroughly enjoyed the food here and the good service, and top marks go to the service here and the boss who arranges everything. Good food for a well paid price was all worth it. View of the sea and sunset.

Looks like a great place to have a bite to eat. Nice on the beach, plenty of shade. Food arrived quickly and tasted great. But if you are not allowed to use the toilet for free after spending 25 euros per person on lunch, I think that is a bit of a downer. So hence the slightly less positive reaction.

De view is great, the service was surprisingly good but it’s clear that this restaurant is managed by people who like to squeeze their customers for every last cent. Paying 1.50€ for mayonnaise in a Dutch restaurant is a first for me, paying 2.5€ for tapwater is also borderline and finally getting a single portion of fries if 2 people are ordering the same is for me just insulting my intelligence. It’s clear that they are not focusing on returning customers.

Fine food, but that’s expected of the price. However they really understand the concept of upselling. Which means that they replaced my fries for (simple) veggies, since their fries were not gluten-free. This, as well as the mayo, ketchup and - plain water next to a bottle of wine - were all charged extra. Couple of good reasons to not go again unfortunately, although we enjoyed the setting :).

I do not recommend. Very bad service! Waiting for our meal for more than one and a half hours spent in the sun. No willingness to compensate our time. Waiter's fault as he did not pass our order to the kitchen. We have heard from the manager it was not his fault.... Table no 217 occupied by us from 6 till 8.30 p.m..

I didn't have a chance to fully try the food because we gave up on the meal after waiting for over an hour and a half. After the appetizers, the waiter forgot to take the main course for four people to the kitchen... We were refused an amicable settlement of the matter and even faced complaints from the shift manager that it was not his fault. I definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND it, or I wish you a better service experience.
