De Wethouder Food & Drink Club in Wijk 10 Denekamp

It was our first time eating here, but definitely not our last. It was so delicious. Everyone was friendly and very attentive. Everything was so incredibly delicious.

I’m extremely disappointed with my experience at De Wethouder. The staff, particularly the person in charge, displayed outright racism by refusing to serve us for no valid reason. It was clear that we were being discriminated against, which is unacceptable in any establishment, let alone one that claims to welcome customers. No one should have to face this kind of treatment in 2025. If you value respect, fairness, and inclusivity, I strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere.

We were a bit disappointed. Food is average, not very special and no special flavor combinations. Also found a large piece of plastic in the food, it seemed to us as if the meat had been heated up in the plastic and cut open on the plate. All in all quite expensive for what you get. Wouldn't go again.

I enjoyed the first course of a 3-course walking menu at De Wethouder. The sushi was delicious, and also the bread with butter tasted very good. The waiter was very friendly and took his time to expkain everything.

Enjoyed a 3-course surprise menu on the terrace as a h/p guest of hotel De Schout. It was excellent! Literally surprising, varied and very tasty. Highly recommended. It was busy and the music was a bit too loud for us.

What an evening. After a few negative experiences in our hotel (de Schout, next to the restaurant), the owner and staff ended our stay in Denekamp in a more than pleasant way. People are hospitable and the food is a more than pleasant surprise. Thank you for this wonderful evening

Quality is good. The service can be better and faster. But the price of a small glass of wine (8.20) really does not fit in this region. Turnoff.

Pleasantly surprised by a great evening at De Wethouder during a weekend away! Beautiful place, beautiful decor, nice staff, cozy and delicious food. We thought it was the best sushi we have ever eaten. The baobuns and cocktails were also great. Highly recommended! If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely go back.

Very antisocial to charge 15.90 for a portion of nachos the size of 2 handfuls of chips with a little cheese and japaleños. Furthermore, a beautiful building and a good atmosphere.

We arrived with a reservation for a Friday evening with three people. When we entered we were waiting to be led to the right table, the bar staff said that a colleague would help us later. When we sat at our table it took a while before someone came to us to take drinks and give us the menu. The wine was tasted first and then poured with the rest, which was very neat. The wine was tasty. When ordering the food, we were advised to first share 4 dishes and then order another round if necessary. The food was okay, not necessarily special. The dishes were nicely prepared. After we ordered the second round it took a very long time before we got it. The sushi we finally got was very tasty. Afterwards we ordered coffee, but it never came. When someone from the service came to check what we had ordered, we said that we didn't need it anymore. All in all we had a pleasant evening together. We recommend ordering the sushi and the verdejo, the wine was very tasty.

Weekend getaway: we certainly won't be coming back for drinks and food 2 evenings in a row... but this place is so nice that we couldn't do anything else. The food is super tasty and for a very small price! The cocktails are just right.. not too sweet, not too sour! A place to pass on and remember for the future!

Although I am normally not a fan of shared dining concepts, we really had a fantastic evening! Tomas, the sommelier, ensured that everything was arranged down to the last detail; perfect wine and food combinations, the correct order of the dishes we have chosen and tips where necessary. And compliments to the kitchen for the dishes, all of which were deliciously prepared.

Lekker gegeten, fijne concept om te delen. Echter was de uitleg hiervan niet direct uitgelegd. Prijs/kwaliteit is super. Gezellige sfeer en muziek.

Mooie terras op een mooie plein, goede kaart met veel keuze, vooral vis & vlees. Goed service!

The service was friendly and attentive and the food came fast. Would definitely go back again.

Bediening slecht. Geen tijd/aandacht voor de klanten. Mensen zaten in een soort serre buiten/binnen te roken en die rook/stank trok naar binnen. Bier was veel te koud. Sloeg gewoon dood in het glas. Alles wat we bestelde duurde heel lang of pas na twee keer vragen kwam het een keer.. zat gewoon geen leiding in het hele verhaal.. heel veel personeel maar het liep totaal niet.. jammer inrichting en pand ziet er fantastisch uit..

Wij hebben genoten van een culinaire avond bij ‘the first floor’. De gerechten waren verrassend en heerlijk, net als de wijnen die onder begeleiding van Leon met passie werden aangeboden en perfect bij de gerechten pasten. Wij komen zeker terug! Wat een topavond!

Top plekkie om in fijne informele sfeer te genieten van allerlei wereldgerechtjes. Mooie formule, heerlijk uitgewerkt. We gaan snel weer.

Was op de zaterdag best wel druk. Wij kwamen een half uurtje voordat de keuken sloot binnen maar er was ze niets teveel om een goede hap eten op te dienen. Zelfs het toetje werd nog na 10u opgediend. Absoluut een top bediening.

Een mooie ambiance met geweldige gerechten die geserveerd worden door vriendelijk personeel. De bediening houdt goed bij of je nog wat wilt bestellen. We hebben heerlijk gegeten en gedronken.

We hebben hier een fantastisch "celebration festival" gevierd. Alles was werkelijk top! Complimenten voor de organisatie, het eten en de bediening.

Helemaal TOP culinair en super bediening. Je wordt echt in de watten gelegd door deze vakmensen

Een wereld Menu genomen verschillende hapjes maar het verblijf in Japan was wel een lang ,, vooral veel sushi, maar wel goed gemaakt. Binnenkort maar een weer bezoeken maar wel een ander menu.
