I'm on holiday with my wife and mother-in-law and we're having dinner here today. We can only say it's perfect, tastes very good, even better than very good. The atmosphere is very cozy, the service is superb and very friendly, and we would recommend it 100%.

Just a fine restaurant. Friendly staff and the schnitzel was really delicious. It did take quite a while for the food to arrive, though, but that might have been because we were with a large group.

My husband had a Wiener Schnitzel and I had a chicken cordon bleu with gypsy sauce. That tasted delicious. The fried potatoes were limp and greasy. And the accompanying salad consisted only of a bowl of lettuce leaves. No cucumber, tomato, or dressing. We also asked for a bottle of still water, received a carafe of tap water, but still had to pay €6 for it. The menu was at least 5 times smaller compared to last year. You would expect that more attention would be paid to the presentation and the overall quality, but unfortunately, that was not the case.

Super cozy restaurant with nice staff and amazing food.

We were there today (Tuesday) and had a fantastic meal. The pork knuckle was definitely super, and that sauerkraut 🤤. I would love to have the recipe for that! Due to a sick leave, the service was understaffed, but you couldn't tell in terms of time! Definitely worth a visit!

Years ago, I had a lovely meal here with my family. But now I am shocked by how the quality has deteriorated. As a German, I really think this is unacceptable. We ordered flammkuchen three times, but it looked more like pizza with some kind of filo pastry? Flamkuchen is supposed to be made with crème fraîche, ham, onion, and cheese. On the flammkuchen, we got salami, ham, and cheese. It literally tasted like pizza. My mother got something completely different from what she had ordered, and it was clear that the cook probably couldn't handle so many guests. It's a shame; it used to be a really good German schnitzel spot.

I was able to get in here on short notice. The food was pretty good, but unfortunately, the schnitzel was overcooked. The thickness wasn't really reminiscent of a schnitzel either. On the other hand, the vegetables and fried potatoes were delicious, and the sauce with the meat was also quite flavorful. My tip: Go to Germany and see what a good schnitzel should look like and how to cook it, and if you adapt that, you'll be a true Gaststube!

The schnitzels are okay. Quite good. The service was friendly. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere. It's a shame the Kaiserschmarrn was gone and isn't homemade.

We waited over an hour and 24 minutes for our food. When it finally arrived, we expected to be able to enjoy it, but unfortunately, we were very disappointed. The gypsy sauce tasted more like whiskey sauce and tasted completely different than expected. The schnitzel was dry, and the Brussels sprouts were burnt. To be fair, the fries were good. This was a one-time visit for us; we won't be back.

We ate here again, and it was okay. But the last time we were there, we got a nice, large cutlet, and now we got a small, thick one. That was a disappointment. I preferred the old concept to the current one. The Brussels sprouts were way too hard, which was a shame. But all in all, I was satisfied.

Not a full house, and that on a weekend. That's a bad sign. The food tasted good, the portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable. But two hairs in my food ruined everything.

The food was very poor. I had a chicken satay, which was simply a whole chicken breast fried in a white sauce with a little peanut butter in it. My friend had something different, but the common denominator was that we both had stomach aches. The service was friendly and cheerful.

My partner has been wanting a delicious sweinehakse (swine chop) like they used to in Austria for years. Finding a restaurant that serves it isn't easy. But lo and behold... that Gaststube in Joure. We drove there... we'd made a reservation in advance. Upon arrival, it had an Austrian atmosphere, but it wasn't crowded. We took a seat and ordered an appetizer, soup, and our main course: sweinehakse (swine chop) and a mixed grill. After a short wait, we had a white mustard soup and a watery goulash soup. No, not what we expected. You can't mess up the bread, but a mustard soup that doesn't taste like mustard—how do you manage that??? After the soup, we had our main course: a mixed grill, consisting of a piece of pork, chicken, or beef served with a sauce of your choice. Our findings: the meat tasted like nothing, or in other words... it had a peculiar flavor. The satay sauce was cold and the gypsy sauce was watery. Even the fries didn't taste like fries, and the potatoes were burnt on one side. The mayonnaise... nothing to complain about!!!!! And then the reason we came...the pork chop...was burnt...had hard crusts. The staff politely asked what we thought of it. Unfortunately, we couldn't keep our opinions to ourselves, so the pork chop wasn't on the bill. But people...let's be honest. This shouldn't be called a restaurant. The quality is lacking. Just bring on Gordon Ramsay. Maybe then the chef will realize that what he puts on the plates shouldn't be on the bill. I can't imagine him liking flavorless meat with cold satay, can you?????

The two of us just had a wonderful meal here. Delicious meat, fast service, and a great atmosphere. We'll definitely be back.

Very nice people and incredibly delicious schnitzels with a wide variety of options. Of course, there are also many other great things to eat here.

We were very satisfied, the dishes were very tasty and sufficient.

One star is still too much; the food is awful, and then you wait an hour and a half for it. Two waitresses were serving, one of whom was downright rude (here's your plate, it almost got thrown at you) and didn't know anything. The schnitzel wasn't what we ordered; it had pineapple on it. When we brought it up to the waitress, we were told it was the chef's fault. It wasn't her fault, and other people ate it that way. The mixed platter, which cost almost €50, wasn't even worth half that. (See photo below) Two measly chicken wings, two very small pieces of pork tenderloin, one schnitzel that didn't look good, one spare rib, and two bratwursts. When we asked if anyone knew, her manager came over. She admitted that the platter should have had more meat, said the platter would be removed from the bill, and extra meat would be added; we would also get drinks on the house. We agreed and started eating. The tiny pork tenderloins were the only tasty meat. The schnitzel we hadn't ordered was so dry you could have made a shoe sole out of it. The person who ate a few bites of it now has an upset stomach. The bratwurst, they weren't even cooked and were absolutely disgusting, to put it mildly. We paid for the drinks and the schnitzel, and we didn't need the extra meat either. We definitely don't recommend this restaurant to anyone unless you want to die, after already starving from the long wait. Absolutely beyond words.

We sat on an empty terrace for lunch. First, we waited over 20 minutes for our drinks; we hadn't even received the lunch menu. After another half hour, the waiter asked if we'd made a choice, but we hadn't because we didn't have the lunch menu. After ordering (two schnitzels, a burger, and a flambée), we received this food after an hour and a half. This food should have been ready in 20 minutes, maybe 30. We're not one to complain and waited patiently, but this was even too much for us. The quality of the food isn't worth the wait, especially the plain flambée.

Thick cut, little lettuce, small bowl of fries.

The chicken schnitzel wasn't tasty, but it had a sauce that should have been gypsy sauce. The lettuce wasn't fresh and tasted slightly spoiled despite the dressing. The cauliflower florets didn't taste like cauliflower. Such a shame!

The food was delicious, the selection is truly enormous. They have no fewer than 74 schnitzels.

You can eat well here. There are many types of schnitzels to order, and delicious! You can order other food. The atmosphere inside is very cozy. Because of the German music you are in Germany during the sitting.

Had to wait a long time yesterday for tasteless food for 5 people. We just have no words for it. Really not recommended! Such a shame!

Had dinner at the Gaststube on Sunday. Ordered drinks, got the menu and placed an order. After waiting quite a while I got the message that the vegetarian schnitzel I ordered was no longer in stock... I asked for an alternative, the only vegetarian thing I could order was pasta. We should have left, because this was a very bad alternative! When paying, the vegetarian schnitzel was simply charged, after which I reported this and got 6 euros back. Very expensive for a plate of pasta that wasn't even cooked properly!

A few weeks ago we also ate here but left disappointed. But we came back anyway and luckily it was as usual. The food was delicious. Luckily it was as we were used to. Compliments to the staff. Just been back to the Gaststube and unfortunately it was not as usual. First of all they had an event menu with limited choice, which is understandable if you expect it to be busy at an event. But then you have to guarantee the quality of your products. I politely reported this that the food was not as we are used to from the restaurant, the schnitsel was not really tasty but very warm so I thought it had been heated up in the microwave, I reported this to the staff member and he guaranteed me that this was not the case so I accept this from him. The fries were also not really tasty, the salad and mustard soup were so that is a plus for the food. They offered to make a new schnitsel, but we did not need this. The staff also offered drinks. We didn't need this either. I have to say that they tried to solve it nicely, but we didn't need this. I wanted to tell them that they have to continue to guarantee the quality, which is very important regardless of a possible event or crowd. I hope it will be better next time

The food was really excellent, a lot for an affordable price. The service was not good though. First of all, even inside you are still in the smoke from the terrace and the staff could not handle it all, they visibly did their best which I could really appreciate, however the owner should have roasted at least one more. It resulted in almost 1.5 hours waiting for the main course (waited half an hour just for the menu) drinks that were forgotten. Half drunk men on the terrace which made a lot of noise. It is a combination of restaurant and outside in nice weather a regular pub.

Met stip op nr 1, maar dan van de slechtste eetervaringen ooit. Lang wachten, goulashsoep was als rundvlees bouillon en vreselijk zout, de mosterdsoep was echt veel te veel mosterd. De Duitse biefstuk was geëxplodeerd op het bord, zag er niet uit. En smaakte ook niet. De wiener schnitzel leek en proefde geenszins naar de Duitse wiener schnitzel. We waren vol verwachting, zijn vele Duitse Stubes gewend. Het was een grote teleurstelling. Het was lang wachten en de bediening mag ook wel iets spontaner en gezelliger. Nee…….helaas…….één keer maar niet weer! Was ook het geld zeker niet waard.

After a brief consultation with the chef, the friendly lady at the counter told me exactly what I could eat, what I could not eat and why. Service with a big plus! We have now returned for the third time and still have good, cozy and delicious food 😀

We were eating in “Die Gaststube” with a group of 8 people. We were warmly welcomed and given a table quite spontaneously. At first glance, the restaurant has a classic German ambience that seems quite inviting. Food: From schnitzel to steak to ribs and wings, we ordered a number of things from the menu. Unfortunately, the schnitzels were very greasy and side dishes such as the fried egg were slightly burnt, but the steaks, ribs and wings were quite good. Unfortunately, we only got four side dishes with our meals in the form of fries and fried potatoes, so unfortunately not everyone was full. Service: Due to a small language barrier, there were unfortunately some incorrect orders or the orders were initially recorded correctly but then issued incorrectly. In addition, we had to wait a very long time for our food, over an hour's wait.

Restless food was fine but the tzatziki was thin and not good

De site ziet er beter uit dan dan de stoelen zitten en het eten lekker is. 1,5 uur moeten wachten op voorgerecht, nog langer op het hoofdgerecht. Kip was niet gaar, vlees smaakte niet van het gerecht samen delen vlees platte. Spareribs waren ok en braadworst waren ok zo ook de mosterdsoep! Hadden wij nu maar eerst de reviews gelezen. Het restaurant was echt niet druk maar het wachten des te langer. Tot nooit weer ziens.

We were in the mood for a snitzel, but how they are prepared is debatable. Our snitzel just came out of the pan. A bit soggy. Taste was fine. I think if you fry the snitzel in the Austrian-style fat, it will be/become attractive.

Kies in ieder geval niet de tafel naast (of eigenlijk in....) de speelhoek mits je de ouders bent van de spelende kinderen. Mosterdsoep was voldoende en prima Surf en Turf als voorafje €12,95 was oké. De 3! gebakken cocktail-garnalentje waren taai, salade had geen dressing of olie. De carpaccio: het vlees was prima, véél gedroogde tomaatjes en zonnebloempitten ipv pijnboompitten. Schnitzel was prima maar het gebakken eitje boven op was helemaal "zwart" aan de onderkant. Niet verbrandt maar vieze boter/vet?? Ik weet het niet maar het zag er iig niet smakelijk uit. De gevulde champignons met parmezaanse kaas kun je beter overslaan....smakeloos. De jongen achter de bar moet toch echt eerst leren om een biertje te tappen. Bij onze buren moest er een gerecht terug naar de keuken omdat het nog koud was. Waarschijnlijk een prima tent als je met je voetbalteam gaat.

Cozy tent, food is tasty, sometimes a bit too sparse (there is no mushroom to be seen in the mushroom schnitzel, only a single one in the sauce. Dame blanche is tasty but is more of a children's ice cream with vanilla ice cream and (cold) chocolate sauce and whipped cream in a coupe. Cup of tea was half full. The side dishes were very tasty, good fries, potatoes, lettuce and Brussels sprouts. Service is friendly.

Guest reviews looked good, as did the menu, but everything took a very long time. A lot of pepper in the goulash soup, snitzel and cordenbleu were just undercooked, a shame, the arugula also came straight out of the water, not a second time for me.

We ate delicious schnitzels and the cordon blue were also delicious. Dessert was chocolate lava cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. There was more than enough to eat such as fries, cartons and salad. We ate our fill of delicious food.

Was gewoon niet lekker dikke vette schnitzels sliptongen allemaal vet en in oude olie gebakken en niet eerst de olie/boter op temperatuur laten komen. Ze moeten echt eerst eens in Duitsland in de leer gaan en dan terug komen hoe het wel beter kan. En het duurde meer dan 1 uur voor dat we het eten opgediend kregen.

Yesterday we were able to sit down for dinner late. Great food for a great price! Tip: the crust of the schnitzel could have been a little crispier. The meat was wonderfully tender, so it was delicious!

Echt heerlijk gegeten, schnitzel platte voor 4 personen met frites en garnituur, luxe brood vooraf en ijs toe. Was ruim voldoende, goed warm en smaakvol. Komennhier zeker terug.

Grote ballentent! Ten eerste duurde het eten meer dan 2 uren en toen ook nog het verkeerde. Werd niks gezegd, toen de rest het al lang en breed op had werd het goed gerecht gebracht. Inmiddels was de honger over en konden ze het weer meenemen. Salade bestond uit een rucolamelange zo in het bakje gegooid met wat dressing (nog gezocht om komkommer/tomaatje maar tevergeefs) groenten bij de schnitzels leek op gebakken soepgroente. Bier tappen was ook niet hun sterkste kant, duurde een kwartier per halve liter en was lauw. Uiteindelijk daar ook niet voor betaald en na een gesprek met de kok ook wat van de totaalprijs afgekregen. Mijn advies; ga er niet eten!!!

Had dinner tonight at the Gaststube. What a delicious meal we had. We will soon have top staff again and no, that is not for sale. If you ask for something, they are ready for you right away. And the price there is great!

Ordered a vegetarian schnitzel, too bizarre for words...€21.50 for this.

We gingen met onze ski-vakantie vrienden hier naar toe om het warme Duitse/Oostenrijkse gevoel op t zoeken. Helaas viel dit niet te meten met de kwaliteit die we daar gewend zijn. Snelheid van serveren en vooral de kwaliteit van het eten viel erg tegen. Schnitzels waren zo door gebakken dat je het gevoel had dat ze van rubber waren. Het leek alsof er weinig coördinatie en aansturing was, jammer want het ziet er erg leuk uit….

Schnitzel te klein, sausjes uit een pak, aardappeltjes en groente waren op. Niet van tevoren aangegeven. Geen aanrader.

Beautiful and original furnishings. Choose from many different schnitzels. Food and beer at reasonable prices and then an extra room in the back with a bar and Dart boards, where you can watch Feyenoord and/or Formula 1 on a big screen.

Lots of choice of schnitzels. The difference is just a bit unclear. For example, there are several schnitzels with bacon and egg and sometimes onion. You can't see what the difference is on the map. I had the Bayrische Schnitzel (chicken). Was very tasty. Delicious Weiɓ beer on tap. More choice in German specialty beer would have been nice.

You cannot order a burger, because she doesn‘t find the burger on the checkout. The chips are not coming on the plate for each, instead they come with a big bowl of chips for everyone. The service is also really bad. She didn’t understand me, she doesn’t speak English, and you cannot order something without pork, for example. Very bad.

Didn't have reservation but was given a table, food served quickly. Ordered the cream sauce and it was thick and lumpy, that's really only complaint. The broccoli with cheese was amazing

If you enter an almost empty restaurant, you can expect to be served quickly. That is not self-evident in Die Gaststube. When we walked in on Monday evening at 7 p.m., people were still eating at two tables; they would then pay and leave. Only one table of 4 people was still waiting for the food. 7:00 PM We (3 people) took our seats. 19.10 We were hungry after a day of cycling and ordered “unlimited ribs and wings”. 7:25 PM The only other people who still had to eat, the 4 people at the table next to us, were served their food. Two of them would order dessert at 7:55 PM. 8:05 PM We got our first portion of ribs and wings. 4 chicken wings and a piece of spare rib consisting of 5 ribs per person. The wings were tasty, the ribs were not or barely marinated and not varnished, so they were dry and had very little flavor. 8:15 PM We ordered a second portion. 8:30 PM The 4 people next to us paid and left. At that moment we were the only people present in the entire restaurant. The terrace had also been empty for a long time. 21.05 Our second portion of ribs and wings was delivered. Same amount as the first. We would definitely have liked a third portion, but we really didn't feel like having to wait another hour for it in this setting. This was by far our worst restaurant experience during our holiday. They will never see us again at Die Gaststube!
