I have been coming here for months and the service is always great. However, I’m now almost 9 months pregnant (35 weeks), and I asked to go to the toilet since it was urgent and they told me that it was only for clients. I think it’s shameful when an establishment doesn’t allow a heavily pregnant woman using the toilet. Very disappointing.

A very unfriendly experience. Upon entering, the employee didn't look up or around from his laptop. He was sitting right at the front of the shop by the door, mind you, so he could have seen and greeted me immediately. However, there was absolutely no welcoming atmosphere or warm reception. Because I really needed to go, I walked towards the toilet. After this, I was addressed curtly and told that this was not allowed. The employee said: "It says so on the door," to which I replied: "Oh sorry, I didn't see that." Only when I indicated that I wanted to buy a cappuccino was it suddenly allowed. I ended up buying the cappuccino for my toilet visit, but by then the atmosphere was already completely ruined by the employee's grumpy attitude. Unfortunately, there is not a shred of hospitality to be found here.

I don’t recommend the iced lattes. The coffee had an odd taste of freezer ice. Stuff not in a good mood.

We went inside here with my daughters to have a cup of coffee and end our day in Nijmegen on a pleasant note. Unfortunately, from the very first moment, we felt completely unwelcome. Upon entering, the man who I believe was the manager and the staff just stared at us without greeting or helping us. It wasn't until I asked myself if we could sit on the terrace that anything was said. That immediately gave us an uncomfortable and unwelcome feeling. When the coffee was brought, we had to pay immediately. I asked why, since you normally pay afterwards. The answer was: "Otherwise, people just walk away without paying." That felt very strange. We even joked about whether we looked suspicious, but that wasn't responded to. Meanwhile, the manager was walking around visibly grumpy and was busy with the company dog, which he even put on a chair that customers would soon have to sit on. Very unhygienic! The low point came when my daughter asked if she could use the toilet. Someone called out sternly: "For guests only." My daughter replied that she was a guest. Then the manager and an employee smiled at each other. When I indicated that I didn't think that was polite, the employee said that she "sincerely didn't know we were customers." I found that hard to believe! I am not someone who easily thinks of discrimination or racism, but the way we were treated gave me that feeling. Maybe they treat everyone like that, but to us, it felt as if a judgment had been made about us immediately. We eventually left with an unpleasant experience and €11 poorer for two cups of coffee. It is a real shame, because we would have liked to end our day in Nijmegen on a pleasant note. In any case, we will not be coming back here.

I went to this place in the morning, because I wanted to get a matcha, but the place I originally wanted to go had the wrong opening times listed on google maps. The man who was working there was very kind and I really liked the atmosphere of the place. I had no idea it existed, so will definitely come back here. When I do come back though, I definitely will not be getting a matcha, and I don’t recommend anyone else gets one either. The fact that my matcha (iced strawberry matcha latte for €5,60) was done within a minute, was the first red flag. The second one was the fact that the matcha barely looked green; more a yellowish soft green. And the final red flag was that the drink tasted simply like strawberry milk. The strawberry milk was nice, but I wanted a matcha, and it did not taste like that even a little. I’m sure their coffee is better, and the pastries looked really nice, but the matcha is a hard pass. Lovely place besides all that.

Fine place, if it weren't for that guy Marcel. Terrible guy who manages to suck all the atmosphere out of the place with his awful work ethic and disrespectful way of communicating. That anyone ever hired him for this job is beyond me. As soon as Marcel gets fired, I will change this review and maybe even drop by again sometime :)

I had a really bad iced coffee here, and the toilets were dirty. Very unpleasant experience.

Marcel, your Doppio Espresso Nijmegen is unhygienic and unpleasant. Your dog leaves hair and dirt behind on the sofas and cushions where guests sit. As a result, the sofas become greasy and dirty. Flies are buzzing around the food and drinks. You speak ill of other guests out loud. You are very unkind and treat your staff poorly. The coffee tastes like burnt milk. The pizza I bought from you was very dry and burnt in several places, sparsely topped for a vegetarian vegetable pizza, and the whole thing was a sloppy failure. You respond to Google reviews in a way that only makes things worse and reveals your true personality. This is your business, Marcel. Never coming back.

The service here is abnormally bad. After waiting 30 minutes for coffee and pastries, you get a grumpy waiter at your table. Coffee lukewarm, pastries dry and way too expensive. I would advise everyone to go to another place that at least offers service and quality to guests.

Delicious coffees and other drinks. They also offer delicious pastries, muffins, and more. A wonderfully relaxing place in the heart of Nijmegen with excellent service. Beautiful interior and a spacious store.

This place is insanely bad, with the beautiful location in the centre of the city you would at least expect to be served a drinkable cup of coffee, or at least to be met with some acceptable customer service. The workers are all in a bad mood and most of all the owner who is a horribly sad man. Waiting for 30 minutes to get a cup of coffee and then to be met with a horrible mood of the owner and workers, bah. Definitely do not recommend!!!

I have never encountered such filthy stuff. Tables are sticky, everything looks dirty and unkempt. I also saw mouse droppings on the floor. Very disappointing and expensive too.

I can't judge the food and certainly won't, but the amount you have to pay for a simple toilet visit, and with so much trouble too... I mean, I understand that you don't want just anyone in your restroom and that you expect something in return, but 3.60 for one pee is a lot of money. And on top of that, unfriendly staff—or rather, one who calls people customers. I didn't know I had walked into a brothel to pee. Otherwise, the toilet was nice and clean, but please work on customer friendliness and being considerate of your guests, because then the people who come to you are guests instead of customers 😉 but thanks anyway for giving the most expensive pee of my life 😊 I can laugh about it now, too.

A very bad lady took our order. We had ordered 2 vegetarian Italian toasted sandwiches. We had to wait 45 minutes for it to be ready :(. We had to catch our train and when it was ready, the ham and cheese toasted sandwich was served twice. Very bad service and luckily I checked it!! :( . We did get our money back but really bad service!! And we also asked twice if it was vegetarian and then that girl said yeah yeah only tomato vegetarian. So this was not the case. I used to come here all the time but now I'm never coming back!!!!!!!!!!!!

The coffee is on average more expensive that any other place we have been in Nijmegen. However, this was not the case fot the bad review. They charged us a glass of tap water! Its the first time in all of the countries I have been and in Netherlands that we got charged for tap water. Unreasonable practice

Horrible people, we felt so unwelcome here, the workers were visibly annoyed that they had to do their job. Look at the owners replies to the bad reviews and that will tell u everything about this place.

Had one of the most wonderful lemonades I've ever tasted. It was perfectly balanced, with the lemons cut fresh. Very spacious outdoor seating area, and dog friendly.

Unfortunately, my 5-year-old daughter is having trouble with potty training. So, just popping into town for a fun time is a big step and a challenge. It is precisely at that moment that things go wrong. I walked inside and politely asked if I could use the toilet to help my daughter. The answer was very short and blunt: NO, only for guests. Okay, not just for a fee either (which was fine too). The answer remained short and blunt: NO, and she went back to work. What a huge damper on just a little shopping trip with your daughter.

I went here last Saturday, and it was a complete disappointment. What a difference between what this place could be and what it is now. Everything looks dirty and unkempt. Sticky tables, a filthy floor, and a general impression that cleaning isn't a priority here. And then there's that dog… a filthy dog ​​that walks around the place without a trace of shame, even lying on chairs. In a place where food and drinks are served. Honestly, I'd rather chew on a lead pipe than go anywhere near that filthy creature while I'm supposed to be eating something. But the absolute worst part is the owner himself. The man, Marcel, behaves like a rude, incompetent person. No professionalism whatsoever, just rude and disrespectful behavior. Instead of minding his business, he openly gossips about customers. I could hear people being talked about as they walked in or passed by. It creates such an uncomfortable and hostile atmosphere that you just want to leave as quickly as possible. It's a shame, because the location is great and the business theoretically has potential. But as long as this attitude persists, both in terms of hygiene and customer service, it's simply not a place you'll return to. My advice: move on; there are plenty of better alternatives nearby. For me, one star is enough. If I could, I'd leave a negative rating, but unfortunately, that's not possible.

It's a pleasant place, but it's outrageous that you're being accused in front of your eyes. Accusing people of not paying their bills, and then even with proof of payment, they still insist it wasn't paid. In the end, they even overpaid. I'm a bit less happy about it now.

The staff is incredibly mean to each other. They're constantly correcting each other, and the atmosphere is disgusting. I wouldn't be caught dead here. Much more pleasant to pour boiling water directly down my gullet and then snort the ground beans than ever get coffee here again.

I am a regular customer. It is my favourite caffe in Nijmegen. The service is always amazing, the stuff is very friendly and kind. The coffee and food are always amazing. And the best part is Sam. The most adorable pug I’ve ever seen. Always a pleasure to come here!

Dirty shop looks like the dog that walks around there anyway dirty if you're dealing with food a dog in the shop, vulgar woman the man who works there is rude and talks about the customers who come in with that woman that I could hear, the atmosphere is dull stupid and unkempt, while I write this they are again talking about someone who is now walking by. So a shop that has all the potential in terms of location also stupid so ruined and then that dog that really can't be right now is lying on one of the chairs again my advice walk past there is enough around the shop. Yesterday my husband went there to buy coffee and orange juice. He paid €10! But the drink wasn't good. In the evening, he vomited and had a stomach ache. He went to the checkout service, and they said, "You can do whatever you want." I give the checkout service zero!

I had to go to the bathroom really badly, but I wasn't allowed to. I would never order anything there for that reason.

A year ago, my girlfriend and I went for a cup of coffee. It was nice outside on the patio. When the waitress (a new young woman) brought our drinks, she spilled the latte all over me. My pants, bag, our newly purchased items, and my phone were completely covered in coffee. She clearly didn't know how to behave and quickly gave us some napkins. When I was paying, I confronted the owner about this, and he asked, "What do you expect from me?" Well, an apology would have been nice, or maybe not having to pay. The reason I'm still talking about this a year later is that I have to go to Nijmegen soon and I'm still shuddering at how we were treated. So customer-unfriendly!!

Very unfriendly establishment. We drank over €30. The waitress changed every three minutes and pushily asked for more. When we indicated we didn't want to order more, we were asked to leave the terrace because we had to keep drinking. This was the manager's order. This woman refused to explain or discuss the matter. We had to leave. A perfect example of how not to treat customers. I'd advise you to visit a different address or terrace. I hadn't even been on the terrace for an hour. According to the owner, it was three hours??? I should have bought a different watch. We drank almost €30 in that hour. Seems like a fair amount to me.

Coffe was with fly inside, after I did ask for change, really nice waitress offered help, but behind bar, the bartender or owner, fat white hair guy with glassess put my old coffe to new cup. Moment I saw it I did leave coffeeshop. Area is nice but local dramaaa.

I had a disappointing experience at Doppio Nijmegen. I ordered an iced matcha, but they brought me a hot one. When I told them it wasn’t what I ordered, instead of making a new drink, they just added ice to the hot matcha and handed it back to me. As expected, the ice melted almost instantly, and I was left with a lukewarm matcha — definitely not what you want on a hot day. On top of that, the milk had been steamed, which completely ruins the flavor and texture of an iced matcha. It tasted awful. I politely asked if they could make it properly, but they refused and acted visibly annoyed that I was asking.

Nice place to have a drink or eat. We had a breakfast platter here a long time ago, which we liked very much, it was extensive and tasty. Yesterday we thought we'd do that again. Breakfast board was no longer the same as it was back then. I thought it was a bit disappointing for that price. The food is delicious and there are few places where they have such tasty croissants. When we were there, another customer was very rude and intimidating to the 2 employees. Really incredibly sad, but respect how calm they remained. I read in other reviews that they don't find the owner friendly, which I really don't understand. Every time I met that gentleman, I found him very friendly and kind. All in all a nice place to drink/eat!

Nice Cafe with poor sound acoustics. You hear the steam pipe of the coffee machine continuously. Ultimately, if you stay there for more than 15 minutes, the atmosphere sounds more like a constant noise. The sound waves are given free space in this practically closed space. Don't get me wrong folks, a really nice Cafe, nice seating area. The noise ruins the atmosphere. You ignore what does not affect your home environment and when you work there it will probably come across differently. So the guests sitting there don't realize it, but if the noise in their residential area were like this, they would complain. As a manager I would have done something about it. Doppio in Nijmegen is an amazing place for a coffee break. The staff is super friendly and attentive, and they really make you feel at home. Their coffee is top-notch, and the cozy atmosphere with stylish decor makes it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a wonderful cup of coffee.

Kom vaker bij Doppio, maar deze kenden we nog niet. Helaas viel de lunch ons tegen. Bediening was vriendelijk en toiletten schoon. Dus daar niets op aan te merken. Wat wel aandacht behoeft, is de smaak van de lunchgerechten. Alles is vrij smaakloos en met kleine ingrepen veel smakelijker te maken. Ook is niet alles even warm en vinden we sommige gerechten vet. Verder vinden wij het zeer vreemd dat een huishond door het restaurant wandelt en ook op de banken/kussens ligt (dat alleen al, maar helemaal waar gasten zitten). En dan zijn wij nog wel hondenliefhebbers. Andere gasten schoten aan de kant toen de hond op de bank sprong gezien zij honden eng vonden. Concluderend kunnen wij zeggen: andere Doppio vestigingen zijn in alle opzichten beter en hygiënischer (geen huishond).
