Fika in Wijk 01 Nijmegen-Centrum

After ordering, we had to wait almost 40 minutes for a bowl of nachos; I wonder what it would be like if I ordered a whole meal..

As true Scandinavia fans who have been coming here for years, we came based solely on the name. The service was good and the coffee was tasty too. Unfortunately, the smørrebrød was served on different bread, and the prices were high for lunch, and the value for money felt a bit on the high side to us. But overall, it is a fine place to have lunch if you are in the area.

As a Danish person i definitely approve of this Cafe. The only thing missing is that the Smørrebrød is made with french bread. Real smørrebrød is made with ‘Rugbrød’/Ryebread. Otherwise it was really tasteful, and i can also respect their changes of the scandinavian cuisine into their own ways

I loved the place so much! 🥰 The atmosphere is super welcoming, cozy, and very cute. ✨ The internet also had great speed, perfect for working peacefully. 💻 The service was excellent, everyone was very friendly and attentive. ❤️ I highly recommend it and I will definitely come back more often when I come from Brazil to the Netherlands! 🇧🇷🇳🇱✨

Very tasty with a Swedish touch, outdoor seating area directly on a busy road

Such a nice cozy place to have lunch. The staff was very helpful, kind and didn't have a problem with changing the food with our preferences and bringing the English menu:) Bread was on point, desserts too. Only thing was the price, it was quite expensive for "a piece of bread." Definitely would go again!!

Nice spot for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. Fresh products. Good bread. It's nice that you can choose a different topping for each slice. Plenty of choice in fish, meat, and vegetarian options. I doubt if the Swedish meatballs were homemade: they tasted somewhat processed/artificial. The roast beef was very tasty. We found the one with avocado feta spread to be bland in flavor. The one with chestnut mushrooms and cheese was very successful. You can also sit comfortably in the garden. However, in warm weather, an air conditioning unit is on, which might be a bit bothersome.

Really nice chill place. The food was really good, had smørrebrød with shrimp salad and one with smoked salmon. The bread was filled over with toppings. Also the drinks were really good, iced tea and iced coffee was nice. And we ended the meal with a aquavit drink that was really nice! Would recommend. Sitting in the back garden was relaxing, and the servers were attentive and kind.

It was good café always. Before they were more active and fresh. Now I can clearly see that Corona time get hard on them. Bit less good stuff, and bit less care, but I hope they will be back on old Fika set-up. Love that inside office space and really nice small outside seats. Love the food here, love the coffee, and place. Ice coffee is the best. And they are improving a lot. I wrote review 1 year ago and they are already picking up better and doing goodm Price are similar to all price in Nijmegen and that is 3-4 e for coffee, cake 5 e. Love this place, love the atmosphere and hope they will bring back the old energy.

Cozy, good service and delicious food. High tea

I ordered a coffee and a Smokey Tempeh Smorrebrød for takeaway. The Smokey Tempeh had surprisingly interesting flavor combinations and came on a nice fresh slice of sourdough bread. The price was also very reasonable! I will definitely come back here the next time I am in Nijmegen, and hopefully I will have time to sit in the sunny courtyard for a while.

Fika is a truly wonderful café in a Nordic style. You can relax and enjoy the delicious specialties. The cardamom kanelbula (cinnamon roll) was still slightly warm and very tasty, a perfect match for the elderflower lemonade. The team is very friendly; I was given an English menu right away. Very thoughtful! I'll definitely be back <3

A very nice café with delicious cakes!

A truly fantastic concept, and all the food looked amazing. Unfortunately, we'd just had breakfast and only managed to eat a slice of cake, but everything looked so good that we'll definitely be back. The carrot cake was incredibly delicious, and the staff was very friendly.

This is such a great concept!!! Scandinavian influenced cafe Fika has everything you want; GREAT menu with everything anybody could want, good vibes, nice staff, ehh coffee?! I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Nijmegen. For the record I travelled over an hour to visit, so it is worth it!!

A lovely brasserie to pop into for a sandwich. The atmosphere is super warm and relaxed. I saw a few IKEA-like things on the menu, but that's about it. Nothing too crowded, just special. So, I'm very happy!

I had a really unpleasant experience at this café. The waitress was incredibly rude, she made me move to a different part of the café just because I had a laptop. Then, after I moved, she came over again and asked me to move again! It felt like she was just picking on me for no reason. To make things worse, the same waitress brought me an undercooked croissant that tasted like raw dough. What really frustrated me was that when I was leaving, I saw plenty of other people using their laptops in the exact same spot she told me to leave. Clearly, the rule wasn’t applied to everyone. Very unprofessional and unfair treatment. Definitely not coming back.

What was striking was how thoughtful they were—we got extra napkins without even asking, simply because they saw we were having pastries. A small effort, a big gesture. The coffee was well-balanced, and the cinnamon rolls were warm and fresh. Everything smelled wonderful when we walked in. The atmosphere was homey and calm, with wooden tables and friendly staff behind the counter. You feel welcome, even if you just sit with a book or laptop. A simple but lovely café where everything is perfect, down to the smallest detail.

A great concept if you'd like a different kind of sandwich. It's also ideal for sharing. We've been here twice. The second time was during the Spring Festival, and we received soft drinks in plastic cups instead of glass. Both times we had a positive experience.

Authentic restaurant dating back to the old days. Everything is neat and tidy, with a large terrace. Friendly service and good quality food. Many locals also eat here.

We had a great lunch here! Good service and great food. Having lived in Sweden, I can safely say the food here passes the test. You can pick different toppings for on a slice of bread, and there’s several vegan options. My favorite was the vegan köttbular. After lunch we had kanelbullar and carrot cake, both were delicious as well.

Unfortunately, we had to wait a bit to place our order, even though we were almost alone in the morning. Luckily, everything went smoothly afterward: the food was deliciously fresh, with generous portions and a really wide selection! We'd love to come back again if we're ever in the area.

What a nice place to have a delicious lunch and eat cake. We had smorebrod with a topping of Swedish meatballs in combination with strawberries. And spicy chicken with a delicious marinade.

Fika has been in the city center of Nijmegen for a number of years now. The nice thing is that it has not lost any quality in all that time. It is always good, fresh, tasty and delicious. Definitely recommended for a cup of coffee or a good lunch with sandwiches and/or Swedish delicacies.

Met in de gedachten dat het druk was binnen, hadden we al iets langer dan gebruikelijk gewacht op onze soep…. Na 40 min nog geen soep op tafel hebben staan was voor mij de moeite waard om ergens anders mn lunch te gaan houden. Eerder altijd genoten hier van een goed ontbijtje of lunch….

Ontzettend vriendelijk en gezellig personeel! Heerlijke broodjes, staan open om broodjes iets aan te passen naar wens. Restaurant is niet groot maar erg gezellig!

The food came 2 hours after I’d ordered it. It was quite busy and I’m sure they did their best, but they didn’t acknowledge it or apologise.

Great breakfast / lunch spot! Many vegetarian & vegan options. We had smørrebrød with vegan köttbullar & chestnut mushrooms. The Kötbullar was very tasty with sauerkraut & cranberry dip. Afterwards we also had chocolate kladdkaka, chocolate cake & a vegan stewed pear cake, which looked like cheesecake. Both were very good.

It was very busy and it is a pity that the service could not handle it well. The cappucino was cold, the espresso was particularly sour, the cinnamon roll was unfortunately no longer available (we did charge for it) but the cheesecake was perfectly fine. I have sat and eaten here before, always had good experiences. But unfortunately not this time.

Nice place with tasty food and friendly service. Delicious sandwiches with chicken and roast beef. Bonus points for the delicious drink. A point of attention for the real smörrebröd lover, the bread is not rye bread but 'normal' (delicious) bread.

The food was nice, but overpriced. We paid 24 euros for two smørebrods and two lemonades. The food was okay, but not super fresh as we expected. They had a big vegetarian selecrion, which was nice. The atmosphere was noisy and not very comfortable. We had to go to the counter to get served, because they were too busy to serve us.

Very cozy place with friendly staff. The Swedish shrimp salad bread was so tasty that I decided to order another one with ham and Brie. Food are beautifully presented and tasty (as well as the bread itself). Unfortunately the second dish had a tiny stain on the plate and a few leaves that look a little dry. So 4 stars. Otherwise I really enjoyed dining here. The food can be served tiny tiny bit of faster. Overall the cost performance is very high. It also has a backyard :) highly recommend, so I still want to give it a five star!

Eerste bezoek aan deze dagzaak ondanks dat we al jaren in Nijmegen komen. Maar we gaan zeker een keer terug! We hebben heerlijk geluncht waarbij je zelf je portiegrootte kunt bepalen. Hierdoor is er voor ieder wat lekkers te vinden, de bediening is correct en netjes. En je hoeft niet lang te wachten (althans niet op deze zondagmiddag). Het assortiment is gevarieerd. Zowel vlees, vis als ook vegan is in ruime mate aanwezig. Minpunt: het restaurant ligt bij het Faberplein, dit is niet echt in het winkelgebied van Nijmegen. Maar zeker op loopafstand van de parkeergarages en winkels. Aanrader dus!

A nice place with decent food. It can be a bit pricey, I think for everything we ordered (two breads, a cake, and two drinks) we paid around 30 euros. For normal lunch they recommend getting two breads a person, so that can get quite pricey in the end. They have games as well that you can use. The atmosphere was different in the various parts of the establishment, but overall it was an alright vibe. I'm not sure if I would return, but I also don't necessarily regret eating here.

Not the nicest atmosphere, but quite ok. You can have a delicious lunch there. Being able to reserve in advance would be a good option in my opinion (although I understand that the current method provides better occupancy).

I think this is such an hidden gem. Bringing Sweden o the Netherlands is a great idea when both countries share the “Fika” vibe. Great cardamom rolls (this was what sold me to this place) though how good they are depends on the day you visit but I find beauty in that. The open toasties are equally delicious and the portions are super nice!

A tiny slice of bread for €7.50 for an extra slice of €7.50. Very strange concept, never experienced it before. The cappuccino was lukewarm both times. Not to be repeated.

The cinnamon roll was very dry and tasteless, this was indicated and was neatly resolved and removed from the bill. The coffee tasted fine, but lukewarm. Too bad because we expected more based on the good reviews.
