The worst experience I've ever had in a restaurant or bar was here. I ordered poffertjes and was given a buzzer with my order number, which I promptly took to the counter and paid for (along with a bottle of water). I'm not in the habit of taking receipts because I've never really needed them before, but on this occasion I wish I did because I found plastic in the food, and the staff were incredibly disrespectful. It was a small piece of hard white plastic inside one of the mini pancakes. I felt it in my mouth and spat it out. I was so shocked by it I didn't think to take a photo, and instead went straight back to the collection point to show the lady who served the food. She took the piece of plastic and threw it away, and what followed was an absolutely awful experience. She offered to remake the order, but by that point I was completely put off the food so I asked for a refund instead. After explaining to me that the plastic could not have come from the bottle of pancake mix - which may very well be true but was irrelevant because the plastic was very much real and ended up in my mouth - I followed her to the cashier and after a brief exchange there, I was told a refund isn't possible without a receipt. I showed her the transaction in my banking app, which for some reason showed up as being from Starbucks (to be completely clear, I don't go to Starbucks so this is not a case of me getting transactions confused - this was the second of only two payments I made in the entire airport and they were about 30 minutes apart). I paid €13.40 for the poffertjes and a bottle of water. She insisted that a receipt was necessary, which I might have understood and accepted had I not been treated like a lying scumbag. It only got worse after that when she proceeded to accuse me of not paying and told me multiple times I needed to pay for the water!! I was in complete disbelief. It was exasperating and embarrassing. She did fetch the manager when she realised I wasn't just going to pay a second time and leave. The manager was far more reasonable and I had a calm, respectful conversation with her just as should have happened in the first place. She gave me a drink and some mini stroopwafels as an alternative to a refund, and I did consider leaving a slightly higher rating because of that, but the whole experience was far more stressful and upsetting than it was worth. Not a nice note to end my first trip to the Netherlands on.

Ordered latte in disposible cup, whe poured in ceramic cup and put on side counter, didn't tell me it's yours. And server other two latte to somebody in disposible cups when I asked about my latte, she told this is mine in ceramic cup. I told that I ask in disposible cup so she gave me empty paper cup. When I pourd it just filled 60% only. Taste also not like latte . Milk is very less.

Total rip off. The burger is 19 euros for a bun that’s the size of half my palm, burnt meat and ketchup. The guy just added ketchup. No preference. No tomato. And the “salad” was old and moldy. 19 euros for that. My wife’s sandwich had meat that was dry. And the service is slooooow. Polite people. But desperately in need of coffee and a motivational speech. Avoid at all costs. Go hungry. It’s better than this crap shoot.

Took 20 minutes for someone to come and serve me. To the greeters credit she spotted me and ensured a server came to me. I ordered nachos and Korean chicken. Only the chicken turned up. My drinks arrived only after I chased a server for them. The last straw was the nachos were on the bill despite not arriving. Well over an hour for somewhere that sells basically snacks and drinks, in an international airport this really is not going to work.

The reviews are way out of left field. Reading them I can only imagine people expected to have there feet kissed and hands manicured. Food came out quickly and tasted great! The croquettes were flavourful and mini pancakes amazing! My only complaint is it is a tad overpriced which is expected in an airport (and no tomato sauce) wouls recommend for a nice tasty meal.

Pretty disappointing overall. Food didn't look great to begin with and was very overpriced. I paid around 10 euros for a slice of pie and a tiny drink. Employees either chatted among themselves or were on their phones. Didn't seem like anyone wanted to be there. Had to call out to them twice to be noticed. It does have some interesting decor and is centrally located in Schiphol, so its pretty hard to miss and easy to access from any gate. They do have plastic cutlery and napkins that anyone can take. I was a little confused on if we were supposed to drop our trays somewhere or leave it on the table. You can do either. There is someone going around and cleaning tables, but there's also a rack to leave your trays. Be a good person.

The chef that served me (wears chunky glasses) is only nice and friendly when the rest of the kitchen staff are nearby. Otherwise he is rude. Extremely poor service. Wanted to see my boarding pass and receipt, whilst the person before (who was a lady and similar racial background as him) didn't need to show anything. Its better to just go McDonalds.

Horrible experience. Took 25 minutes to get food for it to be cold and overcooked. When speaking to them they then decided to talk bad about me and my partner in Dutch as we were English and they didn't think we would understand. This includes sweating about us. They were adamant that they called the pager but there was proof they hadn't. To top that no food hygiene in the kitchen with no gloves for handling food or hairnets for long hair. Cannot fault the clean staff and coffee counter staff however, they were so friendly and really helped and they put the kitchen staff in their place and made sure they redid it and supervised them personally. The cleaner who helped us brought over the food and checked it was hot which it was. She was absolutely lovely and kept checking on us. Overall unless you want overpriced, bland, cold food and rude kitchen staff. Don't go here.

Manager said they are meant to be burnt and showed me the picture. Don’t waste your money on food here. Yeah the reviews don’t lie. It’s overpriced and the food is mediocre, the staff don’t show much kindness, interest or sincerity. Expect to pay €4 for a small coffee and €3 for a treat. You can find cheaper and higher quality food elsewhere at this airport, for example at any Albert Heijn. Though the atmosphere here is very nice. I come back just for the tradition of it.

Avoid. Absurdly overpriced with an absolutely baffling ordering system. I ordered a simple omelette from the hot kitchen section and got given a plastic disc that would alert me when that was ready. I then had to go to another section for a drink and another section again to pay. The one saving grace was that the lady on the cashier was very helpful and lovely. In that time the plastic disc starting buzzing to signify the order was ready. Once I had finished paying I went to collect my order from the hot kitchen area only to be told it wasn't in fact ready yet and got told that it would beep and vibrate when my order was ready. I explained that my disc had been going off and got looked at like a was a delusional fantasist. 10 minutes later the disc vibrated again and this time my lukewarm omelette was here. It wasn't at all worth the wait. There's a McDonald's nearby. The food probably isn't great but it won't be a great deal worse than here and will be a fraction of the price.

The employees here are so unfriendly. One of the cashiers was so rude to me because I did not want a cold croissant. I ask him to please get someone to warm it up because he said he could not. He said no so I asked for a refund. He snatch the croissant out of my hand and threw it in the trash. So I asked for a refund for all that I ordered. Just had a drink at the bar, was very chill and communication with the bartender was better than at Frames where I just left. I asked for a vodka soda and the poor girl had no idea what I wanted hah but at this place, the guy asked no questions, just gave me a tumbler with the vodka and a tall bottle of sparkling water I can have later or use for a second drink. After trying to return it, so that they can replace it with a properly cooked portion, the lady that distributes the orders started yelling at me infront of everyone that that is the way they cook poffertjies and then she started having a small argument with her colleagues. Conclusion is that the staff is utterly unprofessional, I never had poffertjies and wasted €9.

The waiters had supercilious and arrogant attitudes. They were flirting and chatting even after they saw me waiting to check out. What’s worse, they started to argue over who should come and check me out. When I asked them why did it take ages to have someone here, one of them just replied “because we were talking about something important”. I was so speechless🙄 If you wanted to be treated like a customer, do not ever step into that awful place. We asked for “a burger” and we sat down and enjoyed the meal yet didn’t feel satiated, because the crafty people fed us “meatless beef”? I would really advise the managers to review the cameras (hopefully they have sound) on the 29.12 around 15:50/55. The staff, specially the girl with a ponytail on the till, have been the most disrespectful and aggressive I have come across in my travels around 55 countries. This was only after I said ‘you could have let me know’ about where to pay, as I was stood on the wrong till while all the girls were busy chatting and laughing behind the counter, ignoring. She started to raise her voice saying she just got there and If I want she’ll call security. If I wasn’t after 18 hours travel I would have insisted she did to prove how absolutely unnecessary her claims were and raise a complaint myself. I saw other customers were upset with her behaviour too. It’s a real shame to have people like that working at airports. Also, 15 EUR for a packet tomato soup and water is ridiculous. Would definitely recommend somewhere else.

If badly lit 1970s style old 'Dutch department store for tourists' vibe is your thing then you will love this place. Odd ordering system at multiple counters even leaves the staff confused and I was asked the cook if I'd paid for the food on return of my buzzing pager. Burger was some sort of meat of origin unknown but identical to the food I had had in another restaurant at the airport a previous time. Won't be back.

Staff shout at each other. Preparation takes a long time and the quality leaves much to be desired, and this is expressed very subtly. Fries seemed to have been reheated for the third time and the burger was just warm on a mug bun despite all the activities. First and last time. The wrong receipt was just corrected by another colleague, which was close to too much trouble.

Bread with omelet could kill someone so hard. Angus burger was cold and mourning. Fries were edible. Cutlery are wooden spoons. Definitely not recommended.

How super bad!! The food is disappointing, the manager shouted at the customers that they are still closed because there were no cashiers yet, staff touches the food with their bare hands, such as ham, tomato and pancakes. This will turn your stomach! You also pay a lot, but that is everywhere at Schiphol. NEVER AGAIN at Dutch Kichten!

I spent a week at the Hilton and really appreciated the Axis Lobby & Cocktail Bar! This lobby bar is stunning! The staff is very friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcomed. Like when I needed a cookie with my drink or added tasty hard apply cider after another patron introduced it to me! I especially want to say how Thijs, the bartender, made me amazingly tasty cocktails and introduced me to fruity elderflower tonic water with 1689, a mild Dutch pink gin! Martini time was always fun as the patrons as well as staff are from all over the world and provided great evening chats! Now, if I could only buy 1689 Dutch pink gin in the states because there was no duty free store at the airport!! Oh, and the TV and very comfortable seating were a nice perk!
