Eet-Lokaal Café, Restaurant & Zalen in Zevenaar

I've eaten here several times over the past few years, and it's always excellent. The ingredients are sourced locally as much as possible and are organic. Many of the ingredients also come from the Sevenaer estate, which is located behind the restaurant. The service from Pablo and his team is warm, friendly, and genuine. The food is delicious and honest. The atmosphere is fantastic. My conclusion: The price-quality ratio is excellent. Highly recommended.

Today I had lunch at Eet-Lokaal in Zevenaar. I had made an online reservation through their website in the morning and duly received a confirmation email. However, upon arrival, my name couldn't be found in the system. After showing the email, the owner came over immediately and resolved the issue politely: "We still have plenty of tables, just come with me." It was a pleasant solution, without any hassle. We chose to sit in the café area – the restaurant was quite full. The staff was young, friendly, and polite, although it was noticeable that they lacked some experience in their demeanor and the way they asked questions. I ordered the Black Angus burger with Kaastobbes truffle cheese, pickled red onion, and rustic fries (€19.50). I started with a bread board. The bread was very tasty, and the dips were good, though not exceptional. The burger itself was excellent – ​​clearly homemade and not frozen. The burger fell apart a bit, but that just confirms that it was fresh and traditionally prepared. The fries were excellent: not overcooked, just right, with a great mayonnaise. The food was served on a wooden board. It looks attractive, but honestly, it's a bit impractical: the grease from the burger dripped off the board onto the table, and if you're not careful, it ends up on your clothes. A regular plate would have been more appropriate. In terms of atmosphere, I found the café area rather simply furnished: wooden tables and chairs, and a large rug under the center table. It feels a bit bare, without much decoration or warm details, although that perhaps suits the rustic character of the location. In short: A nice lunch spot with good food, a hospitable owner, and friendly service. There are some minor areas for improvement in service and presentation, but the food makes up for a lot. For a tasty lunch with local products, you've definitely come to the right place.

It's wonderful to have discovered a restaurant like Eetlokaal. Everything about this restaurant is perfect. An excellent menu with plenty of choices, service that truly knows its trade—because that's what it is—the ambiance and decor are perfect, with things like real plants on the tables, and a price that's reasonable for what you get. Last week we ate at Eetlokaal for the first time. My meal wasn't good. I ordered four large prawns in herb butter and pearl couscous. That can be very tasty, but getting four medium-sized, dark brown prawns that are also tough with a flavor that certainly doesn't resemble melted herb butter, but more like... and then charging €35 for it, I find it rather excessive. Incidentally, the rest of the plate was the same color. I really don't understand why they even gave it a Gault@Millau award.

The service was excellent, and you felt genuinely welcome. The prices are indeed a bit higher, but it's worth it!

We went to Eet-Lokaal for high tea. We enjoyed the charming terrace. The dishes were all delicious. We actually expected a bit more in terms of quantity.

We had a delicious three-course meal in a beautiful location. Portions are reasonable, but I can imagine it might be too small for big eaters. We had to wait a very long time for everything, starting with our first drink. We ended up sitting at the table for about 3.5 hours for a simple three-course meal. The staff is very friendly, but could pay more attention to the guests.

We received a very friendly welcome on Saturday evening with 16 people without a reservation! They set up a table on the first floor especially for us. We enjoyed a delicious meal made with local produce, and everyone returned to Enschede feeling very satisfied. In short, a wonderfully hospitable experience.

Leuke sfeer en super personeel, wat ons alles kon vertellen over de verschillende gerechten, wijnen en bieren. Helaas viel het eten tegen. De porties waren erg klein en ik heb thuis nog een zak chips opengetrokken. Volgens mij is de kok bang om te veel zout te gebruiken, er zat niet heel veel smaak aan. Jammer, want er zat duidelijk wel heel veel moeite in en de borden waren heel mooi opgemaakt. Voor een borrel zeker voor herhaling vatbaar, maar niet voor een diner.

We unexpectedly came across this gem on the way back from holiday. Extremely friendly and attentive service, delicious and honest food and drinks. It was very busy when we arrived, but a spot was found. We were warned that it could take longer due to the crowds, but in the end it wasn't too bad. A small error in the service was promptly picked up and resolved. The garden looks great, but the weather was not right to sit there. At least a reason to come back again! A small disadvantage is parking, but there is little they can do about that.

We celebrated our wedding last Friday at Het Eet-Lokaal with a 4-course dinner for 21 people. Pablo and his team took care of us completely and arranged everything down to the last detail. Highly recommended!

This restaurant is located diagonally behind the Andreas Church, which is adjacent to Huis Sevenaer. It is a fantastic place with a courtyard, where you will not want to leave once you have your plate and your drink. The menu is not very extensive, but it has nice sandwiches and salads. I chose the latter, with oyster mushrooms, quinoa and tahini sauce. I didn't think that dressing was very successful, it lacked a contrasting taste. In my opinion, balsamic vinegar would make a better combination with the mushrooms. But the service was friendly and the atmosphere in the garden was lovely, so it was definitely worth it.

Fantastic service! Super nice location and extremely good service. We had an anniversary dinner here with various allergies (celiac disease/nuts). I have celiac disease myself and have never experienced such a hospitable, caring and careful experience. The owner was extremely involved and there was a very pleasant atmosphere. I can highly recommend this restaurant!

After a day of walking, we were surprised by the delicious food. We sat outside in the garden. The staff was friendly and helpful and knowledgeable. We will definitely come back again.

We hebben eind november 2023 hier gegeten. Een wild menu hadden we. Alle gangen waren heerlijk. Ik kan het alleen maar aanraden, dat als je echt lekker wilt eten, je dat hier kunt doen. A la cart of menu alles is lekker!!! En al het eten komt uit de buurt. Ik kom graag snel weer langs voor een heerlijke maaltijd!!

Feestje in het Eet Lokaal gehad, de dranken en de hapjes waren keurig verzorgd en voor een ieder wat wils. Sfeer en aankleding is erg goed verzorgd. Aan de menukaart te zien een Restaurant waar je de wat aparte Streekproducten kunt eten.

Heerlijke (wild)recepten met regionale producten. Het verrassingswildmenu is een echte aanrader.

Wat een feest om hier aan te mogen schuiven. Lekker lokaal eten, op een schitterende historische locatie in een informele, Liemerse sfeer, tot stand gebracht door een flexibel team onder de inspirerende leiding van Pablo van Dick en zijn partners. Zeer geschikt voor groepen zoals de reunie van klas V6D van het Liemers College 1981!! Namens deze hele groep: dank voor een prachtig avondje!

De lunch die we hier nuttigden was in twee woorden “THE WORLD!” kom hier gauw weer terug.

Het Eet Lokaal is een bijzonder restaurant waar je kunt genieten van heerlijk eten met producten uit de regio en ook prachtige kunst kunt bekijken!

Het restaurant werkt met lokale, biologische producten. Dat vind ik uitstekend! Wij maakten gebruik van het luncharrangement: kaartje voor het filmhuis en eet-totaal plank (proeverij uit de regio). De prijs hiervan is prima en er wordt rekening gehouden met allergieën. Het assortiment op de plank vonden wij alleen niet heel bijzonder. Veel salades, weinig verrassend. Met bijv. een stukje quiche, Flammkuchen of zo (minder salades dus) zouden wij het zeker voor herhaling vatbaar vinden. Via mail op een maandag een reserveringsaanvraag gedaan voor de donderdag erop. Woensdagmiddag nog geen bericht ontvangen of de reservering akkoord was. Reden wellicht, omdat het restaurant op maandag en dinsdag gesloten is? Dus woensdagmiddag zelf nog maar eens hier achteraan gebeld. Zou fijn zijn als de mail op de "gesloten" dagen wordt gelezen en beantwoord. Als de reservering nl. niet mogelijk was, konden wij wellicht ook niet meer elders reserveren voor de lunch i.v.m. de bezetting aldaar. Ik had eerder als eens met een vriendin gebruik gemaakt van de "lunch eet-totaal plank". Als opmerking gaven wij aan de serveerster mee, dat er wel erg veel "sla" op de plank lag. De serveerster zou dit doorgeven. Ik vond het dus jammer om te zien dat dit nog steeds zo was. De anderen uit mijn gezelschap vonden dit ook. Voor ons dus geen herhaling van deze plank.

Vandaag voor het eerst hier wezen eten. Onze vrienden waren al vaker geweest. Maar wat hebben we lekker gegeten. De charcuterie was perfect. Het hoofdgerecht deed hier niet voor onder. En alles lokaal. We komen zeker terug.

Buitengewoon heerlijk gegeten op een idyllisch plekje in Zevenaar. Vriendelijk personeel met verstand van zaken. Het eten was fantastisch! Volgens mij werken hier de beste chefs uit de regio, oprecht een echte aanrader!

Prachtige plek in Zevenaar! Erg mooi hofje in een oude binnenplaats van een pand. Lekkere lokale gerechten. De soepen zijn echt heel erg lekker! De gerechten zijn goed al wisselt de hoeveelheid ervan per gerecht dit is dan ook de enigste aantekening voor deze plek.

Heel aardig personeel in een prachtig pand dat smaakvol is ingericht. Mooi cappuccino die een mooie melkschuimlaag had. Er werd voor me zelfs de route opgezocht om te fietsen.

Ik had het verrassings menu 5 gangen genomen en het was heerlijk, de smaken werken goed samen en het eten werd duidelijk uitgelegd, ook waar het vandaan komt. De eigenaar neemt de aandacht voor elke gast en probeert je ook te leren kennen. De sfeer voelt alsof heerlijk in de tuin zit en geniet van het leven. Wanneer je ernaar vraagt bieden ze bij de gerechten ook matchende wijnen waar ze echt verstand hebben van wat ze schenken. Als je in de buurt woont of de regio goed wilt leren kennen moet je hier zijn!

De moederdag high tea was heerlijk. De hapjes zeer smakelijk en fijne vriendelijke bediening.

Privé hier al vaker gegeten en is altijd goed bevallen. Zo ook de 25 jaar in dienst bij de zelfde werkgever van mijn partner hier gevierd met 15 (ex) Collega's en hun mee laten genieten van de mooie en lekkere gerechten gemaakt van lokale producten.

Het kwaliteit van het eten is een onvoldoende. De biefstuk was erg droog van smaak en het portie lamsvlees waren enkele kleine stukjes. De aardappelpuree bijvoorbeeld was erg vlak van smaak. We hadden, gezien de recensies, meer van het eten verwacht.
