Restaurant 1487 in Zevenaar

We dined here on August 21, 2026. The ambiance is atmospheric and neat, and it was a pleasant experience to dine in a fine dining restaurant for a change. Upon arrival at the restaurant, we were politely escorted to our table. We were “offered” a glass of bubbly. After consulting with a staff member, we opted for the 5-course chef's menu. My wife actually had 6 courses, as she also “received” 3 oysters. For the first course, I had chosen a “Steak tartare”; I would have to pay a surcharge for this, which was clearly communicated. The service was very friendly, and the explanation of the dishes was excellent. We spent over 4 hours in Restaurant 1487; in my opinion, the time between the 5 relatively small dishes is quite long. When we reached dessert, we could also choose a cheese platter instead of the raspberry dessert. It turned out afterwards that this was an additional charge, which unfortunately had not been communicated. The glass of bubbly was also on the bill, which had not been communicated. The impression was given that it was on the house. The prices are in the higher segment, and I have my doubts about whether it is really worth it all. All in all, I am certainly richer for the experience. Fine for when you have something to celebrate, but too expensive for a “regular” night out.

Saturday 4-7-2026 An evening of full-time culinary entertainment! We had a delicious meal here and thoroughly enjoyed the surprising dishes and the beautiful structure of the evening. The wines were excellently chosen and paired perfectly with the various dishes. The non-alcoholic options were also pleasant and surprising, forming a full-fledged part of the culinary experience. Additionally, we enjoyed the attentiveness and hospitality of the wait staff. A restaurant where food, experience, wine, and service come together beautifully. Absolutely recommended for a special night out!

Good French cuisine, just like I am used to in France, London, and Switzerland. I hadn't expected this in the border region near Zevenaar / Emmerich. Compliments to the chef!!

Excellent. We opted for the 5-course Chef's Menu with wine pairing. Beautiful dishes, delicious flavors, and unique combinations. The wines served were a perfect match. The service was friendly and explained everything well, even answering our additional questions. We finished with a superb cheese board they had put together. Aside from a small issue with a piece of fish, it was a truly perfect evening. So, actually 4.5 points instead of 5...but I forgive them. We went home satisfied after four hours of enjoyable and delicious dining in a pleasant atmosphere. It's great to know that a high-quality culinary restaurant has opened in the Liemers region...because there aren't many.

On Saturday, I visited this Michelin-starred restaurant for the second time. What a culinary experience! We started with a 20-year-old port and then opted for a wine pairing with the chef's six-course menu. Each dish was a work of art in itself and delicious. We finished with the cheese board and an Irish coffee. Everyone was talking passionately about the dishes, wines, and cheeses. Highly recommended!

Top restaurant, certainly not cheap but classy.

On December 24, 2025, we enjoyed the Christmas menu with a group of eight. It was the first time any of us had dined here. Our table of eight was at the back. It was a square arrangement, which was very convenient! This allowed us all to see each other and often hear each other. Excellent. The service was excellent. The service was almost always, as is customary, served from the side. Occasionally, from the front, but not often. The order of the woman/man/age was never considered. We wanted a wine pairing. In my experience, this is quite standard practice at a (very) good restaurant and at fine dining. I found the sommelier very unclear about the details of the wine pairing because he kept asking what we wanted during the appetizers. We thought we were served a different wine with each course (after all, a wine-food pairing), but he repeatedly came to ask. When we discussed the confusion with him, he looked and acted as if we were bringing up something completely strange because it was obvious, wasn't it? No: it was the height of confusion, but then it was all cleared up. Another odd thing about the wine: a few times, one of us had a dish that differed from the others (for example, no (pork) meat, no fish, or something similar), and the wine served with the alternative dish was exactly the same as the wine served with the others. The sommelier didn't mention it to the person with the different dish. I find that quite unusual. I expect a different wine for them. The second amuse-bouche: the soup, was tasty but unfortunately lukewarm, almost cold. The "Iberico" dish: An oyster was served with the Iberico rilette. The recommendation was to pair each bite with an oyster and the Iberico rilette. However, we had to use a magnifying glass to find the one tiny oyster. The Iberico rilette was incredibly delicious. The "wild prawn" dish: the fondant potato was less tender than I expected and hoped. The prawn was very lukewarm, bordering on cold. The prawn rilette with the angel hair around it was delicious. The main course, "venison": in my opinion, there were too many and too simple pumpkin preparations, which were also far too similar. The venison steak with the sauce was tender and delicious. The venison stew was incredibly deep-flavored and very tasty. The ravioli with pumpkin filling that lay on top added nothing, and the dough was too thick and hard for my liking. The dessert was delicious. The chairs were slippery and had no armrests. If you leaned back, you automatically leaned very far back and involuntarily slid off the seat. This made the backrest of the chairs very uncomfortable because you can't relax. Therefore, I sat bolt upright the entire evening (from 7:00 PM to midnight). I think that's a shame. When one of us went to pay, she politely mentioned the communication issues. She replied that they were mutual. Excuse me? My overall conclusion: * The food was delicious. I found the portions very small. The temperature was a bit off in places. The service was friendly but not always clear. * Price for 1 person with 1/2 glass of wine (I chose a designated driver package) per course and water: €125. In my opinion, too expensive for the overall experience. * Will I return? I don't think so.

Fantastic dishes that provide a taste explosion

What a fantastic restaurant! With truly surprising flavors. We both had the vegetarian 4-course menu with the alcohol-free arrangement. My partner isn't vegetarian and drinks wine, but he also chose to join me this evening because "meat, fish, and wine are very well known." With vegetarian and AV options, a restaurant can truly surprise. We sat next to the open kitchen. There was a wonderful atmosphere between the kitchen and the waitstaff. And then there's the food... My advice: just go there and be amazed. What they do with vegetables, fruit, herbs, and mushrooms... So good! And the AV arrangement was really well put together. It tasted perfectly with the dishes.

The idea of ​​fine dining is nice but the execution leaves something to be desired. We sat outside, nothing wrong with that in itself, but we are not sitting at the grand café next door on the terrace, you would expect a cushion or something on your chair. I stood up and had the imprint of the chair in my legs. In addition, there were pieces of glass everywhere on the terrace. Okay, we came on Saturday, perhaps Friday was a wild evening but... having worked in the catering industry for years, we made sure that the terrace was swept before we opened it. It is also about the business card of your shop of course. Speaking of appearance, dirty tables on the terrace are of course not allowed. During our entire visit there was a table with dirty glasses diagonally behind us, and no, it was absolutely not a busy evening. The food is nice but not special. We may be a bit "fine-dining-spoiled" but 3 cold dishes in a row is not pleasant, a pan with a sauce is nice once but not with all courses. And furthermore, the flavours were not always very much in harmony with each other. There were too often dominant elements. The serving lady was friendly in itself but it was noticeable that with no course was a wish for a tasty meal or asked if it had tasted good. There is a bit of hostess missing there. Cutlery not polished and only set on the right side. My husband got a spoon with the dessert that was actually too crooked to hold, there are still enough dots on the i that need to be worked on.

Magnificent, in short: AMAZING! Really, a hidden gem, ‘pur sang’ We ourselves come from Arnhem and we have seen (tasted) most of the restaurants and their culinary ideas here, but Restaurant 1487 is of a completely different caliber and also falls into a completely different segment. The service is fantastic and the food is unsurpassable and truly FORMIDABLE and WORLD CLASS! In short, if you are really looking for something very special, you have definitely come to the right place!!!

What a good restaurant!! We took the four-course (there were 6!) surprise menu. For this 'Sunday surprise' the chefs had created a stunningly high-quality menu from all the 'leftovers'. Flavor bombs, full of creativity, incredibly friendly service and not expensive. Also a great token of appreciation for the fact that they can cook really tasty and surprisingly vegetarian food here (it is a lot easier to do that with meat or fish). We would love to come back again!

It was our first time visiting this restaurant, but it certainly won't be the last time. On Saturday there was the chef's menu. Actually a surprise menu for us. And what kind of menu! Without exception, the dishes were very tasty and prepared with imagination. A suitable wine was served with each dish, and a compliment to the sommelier is certainly appropriate. We had a very pleasant evening and a very successful evening. Thanks to the people of this restaurant. Definitely an asset for Zevenaar.

Ik geef dit restaurant een 10! Jammer dat je niet meer dan 5 sterren kunt geven! Bij restaurant 1487 ben je verzekerd van een heerlijke avond uit. Verrassende smaken, mooie wijn spijs combinaties en geweldig personeel. We wonen niet in de buurt, maar komen voor dit restaurant regelmatig naar Zevenaar. De ongedwongen sfeer en het enthousiasme waarmee ze iedereen kennis laten maken met de meest interessante smaakcombinaties spreekt ons erg aan. Dankjewel!

We have eaten at this restaurant a number of times. We think we are experienced eaters, tasters and connoisseurs. And although the star rating may seem to be a bit lower, my partner and I think this restaurant is a great addition to Zevenaar! It is of course the criteria with which stars are given. As far as we are concerned, there is only 1 restaurant in the region with which you can compare them. And then I'm talking about Michelin star quality. Price-quality good. Refined and you feel like a guest. The modest service appeals to us. The beautiful, very extensive wine list. And the dishes: Taste, composition, color, intention good. Enjoy good food and good atmosphere

Last week we had dinner at restaurant 1487 in Zevenaar. We really had a great evening: delicious food, our dining wishes were taken into account and we received good wine to match. For this quality, the price-quality ratio is more than okay. Recommended!

Reserved a table for two. Ordered a nice bottle of Rueda for dinner. When the wine was presented it turned out to be lukewarm. A new and uncomfortable wine cooler was the cause, according to the waitress who served us. The solution offered was to put the wine on ice and wait until it reached the right temperature. After another two attempts to present the wine, it turned out to still not be up to temperature. Then put plastic ice cubes in the wine glasses that our waitress came with. I don't expect these kinds of camping solutions in a restaurant like 1487. The reaction of the manager was disappointing, after criticizing this approach as to whether we were getting a free glass of wine. Angry and disappointed, our dinner ended abruptly and we left the place. Not recommended, even though we were very curious about the kitchen.

De met zorg geselecteerde bijpassende wijnen, perfect afgestemd op ieder gerecht alsmede de bevlogen en enthousiaste bediening maken het geheel tot een geweldige ervaring! Tip. Iedere gang is een belevenis op zich. De overheerlijke gerechten worden begeleidt met steeds een andere bijpassende wijn. De verstrekte achtergrond informatie bij deze wijnen en hoe de combinatie tussen gerecht en wijn gekozen is maakt het culinaire feestje compleet

Gisterenavond voor de eerste keer en zeker niet de laatste keer gegeten. Heerlijk gegeten en top bediening. Echt een aanrader voor de liefhebber van fine dining. Vanaf moment 1 wordt je in de watten gelegd en verrast met heerlijke gerechten en verrassende amuses.

Dit restaurant verdient het om iedere avond goed bezet te zijn. Wij hebben met 4 personen een geweldige culinaire avond gehad. Zou bijna zeggen Michelin ster waardig. Dank voor de belevenis.

Een superleuke belevingsavond. Ingrediënten bijzonder mooi op elkaar afgestemd. En dat alles voor een zeer acceptabele prijs. En echte aanrader.

Ate here last night. I didn't really know in advance what to expect. But both the food and service were excellent. You will of course pay a bit more than what you are used to on average in Zevenaar. But personally I'd rather pay a little more for good food. In any case, the price/quality ratio is excellent. Most dishes were balanced, except for the eel and kimchi. The eel was a bit sparse in terms of the amount of eel and the taste was a bit mediocre. In our opinion, the Kimshi was a bit too sour and the sushi rice was too hard. But that was it. What struck us was the fact that we were sitting in an almost empty restaurant on a Sunday evening. This does not really improve the atmosphere, but of course the restaurant has no influence on that either. In any case, we had a nice and enjoyable evening!

1487 is a culinary asset to Zevenaar. We work with passion, you can taste and see that in everything. We would love to come back to these great guys!

Had a fantastic meal at restaurant 1487 in Zevenaar. Not around the corner, but worth a trip there. The 1487 team combines top dishes with great service. You can take a 3/4/5/6 course menu, but the à la carte menu is also fine. You don't eat like that very often.

Restaurant 1487, waar het Chef’s menu met het wijnarrangement een verhaal op zich is. Buiten de verrassingkjes die er óók nog in zitten, bevat het menu drie tot zes gangen, waarbinnen veel keuzevrijheid is wat vlees, vis, vegan of andere toevoegingen betreft. Waarbij je informatie van de maître krijgt bij elke gang over het gerecht en de daarbij passende wijn. Het was een bijzondere en nauwelijks na te vertellen ervaring. Zo één waar je niet te lang over moet praten maar die je moet gaan beleven!

Ik heb echt veel genoten van het eten, het service was ook fantastisch, ik vond wel dat er iets zachtere muziek gekozen kon worden, misschien meer jazz of zo iets, maar verder een fantastische restaurant!

Wij hebben gisteravond genoten van meerdere culinaire hoogstandjes uit de keuken van dit geweldige restaurant. Veel verrassende smaak combinaties passeerde onze smaakpapillen. Goede bediening, presentatie en een bijpassend wijnarrangement maakte onze avond af. Wat ons betreft voor herhaling vatbaar!!!

6 gangen menu was verrukkelijk net als de wijn. Service van top kwaliteit met geweldige drank suggesties !!! Het was puur GENIETEN, een echt aanrader. Enorm bedankt voor een heel gezellig avond.

Afgelopen zaterdag met een groepje wezen eten bij 1487. Het eten was echt perfect, net als de wijnen. De service was ook erg goed, heel gastvriendelijk. Zeker een aanrader!

We hebben hier echt heerlijk gegeten. Mooie verrassende gerechten, prachtig opgemaakt, vriendelijk personeel. Voldoende tijd tussen de gerechten waardoor je echt een hele avond uit bent. Ik vond de prijs-kwaliteitverhouding ook echt top. Een aanwinst voor Zevenaar! Leuk dat ze ook echt hun best deden voor een passend speciaal bier bij de gerechten toen mijn man daarom vroeg ipv het wijnarrangement. .

Wilde meer dan 5 sterren geven maar helaas kan dat niet.

Afgelopen zaterdag wezen eten. Het was een smaakbeleving, hadden het 6 gangen geboekt. Van begin tot het einde was het geweldig, met gewaagde maar smaakvolle combinaties. Een Heerlijke wijn heeft ons nog meer van deze avond intens laten genieten. Nee een geweldige avond , en ook een geweldige leuke en zeer correcte bediening ,echt top. Jong team is erg enthousiast en keurig, soms nog wat te gepolijst, wellicht is levenservaring dan een toegevoegde waarde (gemêleerd team qua leeftijden). Doet niet af overigens aan de fantastische smaakbeleving! Wij komen zeker terug.

In ons eigen dorp een heus upper class restaurant. Mooie ambitie met goed eten en mooie wijnen. Je kunt van een nieuwe zaak niet direct verwachten dat alles direct perfect is en ik gun ze nog mooie feedback om zichzelf nog meer te verbeteren. Gewoon omdat ze de ambitie hebben om nog meer boven het maaiveld uit te stijgen. Mooie ambiance, vriendelijk personeel en mooie wijnen. De kazen waren een hoogtepunt (voor wie van Sherry en kaas houden). Alle gerechten waren de moeite en prijs waard. Mooi punt om te.onderzoeken is of de porties niet te groot zijn. Ik zou 1 amuse meer doen en wat minder hoofdgerecht. Etaleer nog meer met de.afkomst van jullie streekproducten want daarmee zet je echt de toon. Ben benieuwd naar jullie vegetarische menu. We hebben een verrassend leuke avond gehad.

Een vrij nieuw restaurant met een jonge, enthousiaste staf. Fantastische gerechten en een uiterst attente bediening. We komen zeker terug!
