Visited for the first time today, very cozy little place and good service and welcome and friendly staff keep up the good work was very satisfied and good food and coffee. Visited again today was super apple pie with whipped cream and coffee top and friendly staff the two ladies

Five stars. I am happy to give this restaurant five stars. The food was truly delicious and full of flavor. The staff is incredibly friendly, cheerful, and hospitable. The service is fast and everything is done with a smile. Truly a top-notch restaurant.

Had a delicious meal and drinks on the terrace; the eatery is in a nice location and the service is very welcoming and helpful regarding choices from the wide menu. Highly recommended!

They present themselves as a Turkish restaurant, but it didn't feel very Turkish. The beytis weren't very flavorful. I've definitely had much better ones. Sloppily rolled up and tzatziki sauce instead of yogurt. For 27 euros, it's substandard as far as I'm concerned. What I also don't think is right is that the prices in the restaurant are a lot higher than the website indicates. Inside, there was a really big tear in one of the benches opposite the bar. It gave a sloppy appearance. The toilet/sanitary facilities weren't that clean either, to be honest. Unfortunately, I wasn't interested in the desserts. I was served in a friendly and efficient manner by the staff, though!

Food fine, location very nice, but what an antisocial group on the terrace: screaming, shouting, smoking, drinking, catcalling. Truly antisocial, just kick such people off the terrace. A waste of lunch like that.

It takes a long time for the food to arrive, then it turns out that what you ordered isn't actually available, and then they don't consult you about what you want instead, but just bring you something else.

Surprisingly delicious food with a wide selection of lamb and chicken, for example on a bed of yogurt sauce with herbs from ancient Messopotamus. With a little imagination, the flavor combinations transport you to a holiday feeling on the Turkish coast.

It took a while before we were served, but it was also a busy, sunny Saturday. Ordered 2 carpaccio sandwiches with 2 glasses of wine for €39. Of course, you know you spend more on a terrace, but €14 for a mini bake-off roll with a bit of carpaccio is overpriced; otherwise, it tasted fine.

I wanted to reserve a table, and because I am a foreigner, I spoke English. A rude male voice replied that he understood me, but only Turkish, and then hung up. I would understand if this had happened in Turkey. But in the Netherlands, where English is one of the two official languages ​​and where many people from different countries live, this is rude, stupid, and disrespectful. I absolutely do not recommend this restaurant.

The view overlooking the canal is superb, the atmosphere is wonderful, and the prices are reasonable.

Very long waiting times; a toasted sandwich and chicken roll took more than an hour. I asked after 45 minutes and again after an hour, and each time I was told it was on its way. So it didn't come, so I paid for a cola and moved to the neighbors, who, despite the full terrace, were able to deliver within 15 minutes. The waitress was friendly though, and she couldn't do anything about it, but the waiter was very unfriendly—probably the owner—who spoke to me rudely and said I hadn't been waiting long yet🤪. Apparently, he doesn't think more than an hour is long for a toasted sandwich and a roll. Never again!!!

We ate here via Social Deal. It was a 3-course menu. The starter was simple and certainly tasted good. The main course and dessert were disappointing for us. My girlfriend simply had a loose bone on her plate. We ordered chicken prepared in three ways: a kind of chicken cutlet, skewered chicken, and chicken breast. All three had the same marinade, which we hadn't expected. The presentation was nice. The fries could have been in the fryer a bit longer; some pieces were still soggy. The cheesecake was very mediocre. It had barely any flavor. The place is very small, making it difficult to sit comfortably. The people behind us struggled with it too. The waitress asked them three times which coffee they wanted. A bit incompetent. Furthermore, I asked if we could sit in another room, but that wasn't allowed. The door was open and cigarette smoke was coming in, so that was absolutely not pleasant. In any case, I won't be coming back here.

The prices on the physical menu do not match the prices on the website. The owner responded to a review in July 2025 stating that the website was being actively updated. As of 2026, nothing has changed. This is misleading information. Restaurants are required to display prices clearly and transparently. See the relevant law in Book 6:193g of the Dutch Civil Code. If this is not changed, it will be reported to the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM).

Nice place and very tasty food ...

Came to Dordrecht out of curiosity, spent the whole day wandering around the city, and finished it perfectly with a beer at a great spot. See you again Dordrecht and Babylon :)

I completely LOVE this place, their little room with full windows looking over the canal and the square is Beautiful!! Their coffee and food selection is amazing! The staff is very friendly, professional, and the service is very fast! Totally recommend! Keep up with your great work guys!

We received a warm welcome from the owner. A warm shower, and he understood the romantic nature of Valentine's Day. But then the trouble began, which ruined our planned romantic evening. He forgot my starter. When my wife was halfway through hers, I asked for mine. Forgotten, indeed. So, eating one after the other isn't nice. Then we had to wait over an hour for the main course. After half an hour, I asked the waitress, who was always extremely friendly!, about the food. She went to the kitchen and said they were working on it. Ten minutes later, I asked again, asking what time it would arrive. She then sent the owner. He told me the social deal would take 2.5 to 3 hours. Well, I didn't see that in the terms and conditions. It makes me feel like I'm having to wait longer than other customers because of it. In which case, I would never have booked. Anyway, he went to inquire and said it would take 2-3 minutes. Well, it turned out to be 20 minutes! All in all, an hour after my starter. The portions were very small. No side dish, but a main course. Anyway, we managed to finish it just in time because we had to leave for a movie we'd booked. We sat there for two hours, irritated, and didn't have time for the dessert we'd already paid for. My main course, stuffed zucchini with minced meat from the oven, was delicious. My wife had something she didn't like and left half of it. But I finished it because the portions were tiny. I ordered fries as a side dish but got rice instead. And the ginger tea smelled. Dirty tap water with a stray, much-too-small piece of ginger. I only had a small sip. When we paid, the owner was only focused on his phone. Very impersonal, and such a contrast to the warm greeting. The waitress was very friendly and even offered to wrap a cake to take away. I declined because I was completely done with it. We can come back for coffee and cake, but no, they'll never see us again. He should have given the drinks free to compensate for the long wait and the lack of dessert. Anyway, the coffee at the movie was good and the movie was great, so the evening ended well after all.

A charming café with very friendly service. The place is a bit cramped and perhaps awkwardly laid out with steps and pillars. Still, the sandwiches and fries were delicious, but it was a shame that a drunken loser was constantly telling his stories at the bar next to us...

Sat on the patio in the afternoon. It was lovely to see it completely full, while the neighbor's patio was practically empty. Must be because of the cheerful waitress.

The staff is super friendly, the food took a bit of a while, but it was delicious and the atmosphere was pleasant. One downside: I think €7.50 for a Makro sandwich is a bit steep.

The food was delicious. However, if you check the website linked to this Google Maps location beforehand, be aware that you'll suddenly pay 1.5 times more in the restaurant! When you point this out to the staff, they say they hear this often, but that it's an old website (so please delete it or link the correct website to the Maps location). I looked up the new website, and it also shows prices lower than the menu. The menu prices are still being maintained, which is not customer-friendly.

We had the Mezzes. A mix of (fortunately vegetarian!) appetizers with bread. Basically, all dips. Delicious. What was striking was that the price per person on the menu (€15.50) was about 1.5 times the price on the website (€9.95)! This is why Dutch restaurants are so expensive! A mere 50% off the price. Delicious, but the price is truly exorbitant.

Cozy restaurant with super friendly service and a beautiful view of the Voorstraathaven and also beautifully lit in the evening. The dishes are particularly tasty and prepared with very good quality ingredients with herbs from the Turkish kitchen. The spiced minced meat and chicken meat from the grill are irresistibly tasty and not to forget the salads and the mezze mix as a starter. Delicious food. Once eaten, never forgotten! It had been a while so I went to Babylon again. Always delicious. You keep coming back regularly.

Never had to wait so long for a sandwich, you might as well have gone to the supermarket where you can get products and make a sandwich yourself, and then you want to order something and have to wait about 1 hour

The cocktail didn't taste like it should. Furthermore, the price online deviated from the price on the menu on the table. According to the staff, the price online was leading. Then the more expensive price as shown on the card on the table was charged. Not very neat. Definitely won't go there again

Cozy terrace and friendly service

Ordered 2 Long Island ice teas for €24.00. Way too much ice. With my own bottle (500 ml) I was able to refill it 3 times. In addition, it tasted like syrup (or it was simply watered down by the large amount of ice). Well, wouldn't recommend here. Terraces next to it are much better.

We tried meze mix, and it should be mention in menu that price for 1 person, coz in the end we paid twice more, and when I said is scam employee was so rude which made experience even worse, when we were ordering she should mention that price is only for 1 person or it should be written in the menu!, also my partner didn’t even like mezes, for me it was so so. We wouldn’t come back again.

Spacious places on a large terrace in the old center of Dordrecht. A richly filled farmer's omelette with peppers, onions and mushrooms, somewhat bland in taste. The carpacio sandwiches were delicious.

The food took a very long time, about 45 minutes before we could order and we then waited 1.5 hours for the food. Once the food arrived, it was unfortunately very poor and just not tasty. I ordered a carpaccio sandwich, I received dry bread with coleslaw on it with some carpacio and nasty sauce. My friend had the lentil soup but she also said it tasted bad. It took a very long time for everyone, the people next to us did not have to pay for their drinks because they had to wait half an hour for their food. The waiter didn't realize that we had waited much longer, which was quite unfortunate. It's a shame because it's a nice place to be.

Bij Babylon kan je genieten van de Turkse keuken tegen een scherpe prijs. Vriendelijke eigenaar en dito bediening. In de zomer beschikt het ook over een van de weinige zonnige terrassen in het centrum van Dordrecht. De flauwgevallen Imam is een van onze favoriete gerechten hier.

Just had the worst food experience. We waited one hour for our food, and when it finally arrived, it was cold. My husband ordered the Alexander kebab, which is supposed to have mixed chicken and bread, but he could barely find any chicken, and it came with just a spoonful of plain yogurt, not even seasoned. The only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one is because of the friendly waitress who served us. To top it off, on our way to the bathroom, there were random shoes and flip-flops left on the stairs. Plus it is expensive and for nothing!! I don't recommend this place at all!

Met mijn moeder en broer heb ik geluncht in dit leuke Turkse eetcafé. Het zit op een mooie locatie in het historische centrum. Wij kozen voor een tafeltje met uitzicht op het water en zagen wat bootjes voorbij komen. Mijn moeder koos voor een omelet met Mozzarella en mijn broer en ik deelden verschillende warme voorgerechtjes en dronken er nog wat bij. Het was allemaal erg lekker en we gingen tevreden weg.

This afternoon we had lunch at Babylon cafe in Dordrecht, the first and last time for us. Charging an outrageous price for a salmon sandwich and both the pistolet and the Italian roll were not fresh. As tough as it can be.

Small portions, poor quality ingredients. Ordered the most expensive sandwiches on the menu and it felt like one 12 euro meal had cost 2 euros in the supermarket.

Obviously this is a review of 1 evening of drinks, but the staff did not seem professional and the snacks were really nothing, especially cold and a lot of fat, but those few skewers were nice.

Stopped by for a few drinks and a plate of nachos. The drinks were pretty normal. The nachos were a bit disappointing with half of the chips in crumbles. Not easy to pick up when you have to eat with hands.

Bediening is prima, eten is matig. 5x broodje gegrilde kip besteld. We vragen ons af of de kip gegrild moest zijn of het broodje. Met het pistoletje kon je iemand verwonden en de Italiaanse bol was maar voor de helft gevuld met de gebakken kip. De bijbehorende friet was allesbehalve warm. Voor ons in ieder geval geen herhaling.

Delicious food! Compliments to the chefs‼️ Everything that was homemade tasted very good 🤗 "Chocolate" cake was not home-made, not a problem in itself... But tasted more like dry cake with a little jam; was waived without fuss and apologized for; all very correct. (Tip; Vanilla ice cream is fine; but maybe spice it up a bit with cinnamon or something, for example?) It was all exceptionally tasty and very well prepared! Hats off to the owner, chefs and wait staff!

Together with my husband, we were trying to enjoy the beautiful city of Dordrecht and just had a stop by in Babylon Cafe restaurant for a bite. Regretting it till the very end because of the unbelievably unhigenic conditions of their kitchen, which can offer a meal with the cook's hair in it. As if is not enough, the unfriendly attitude of the staff, who nearly tried to make us responsible of the horrible meal served.

Despite the crowds, we were offered a table for 4. Furthermore, very helpful and friendly service. The food was delicious; pizza and a pasta. What really bothered me is how unabashedly the other guests, groups of 4 or more from this region, shouted at their company all over the restaurant. As if the louder they shout at each other determines how good they are. What a crowd...

Great place, good food (Turkish of international) for very fair prices. Of maybe just for a cup of coffee, you have a excellent view on the river. Extremely friendly people. Been there 3 times ! I definitely recommend Eetcafe Babylon.

Ordered 2 pizzas with 2 people on a not too busy Saturday evening around 6:30 PM. We got a nice spot by the window, but the tables and chairs were close together so you had to contort yourself a bit. But luckily when the pizzas arrived after half an hour, they tasted delicious. Because we were a bit late, we asked if they had containers in which we could take the food. They responded kindly and came up with something. Furthermore, the atmosphere was pleasant and also somewhat cozy due to the decor.

Can't comment on the food as we asked to order some and the waitress never came back to the table. The custom service was very lackluster. Trying to conversate/smile with the waitresses was a big no, as they didn't seem interested in us, more interested in smoking outside. It wasn't a particularly busy morning (less then a third of the tables were filled) so I doubt the lack of service can be blamed on them being busy when four staff members were stood around. Coffee was okay, The only saving grace was the view over the canal.

Heerlijk gegeten, was een leuk terras op pleintje bij een leuk bruggetje. Dordrecht is een mooie stad met veel haventjes en oude gebouwen.

Door slecht weer en drukke kinderen beetje lastig om rustig te eten en dan de boeren omelet lekker maar ook erg flauw al met al toch genoten 👍

Voor mij de leukste en lekkerste terras in Dordrecht. Kwaliteit eten is altijd goed en service ook! 1000% een aanrader! Tip: mezzemix (heerlijk)

Babylon zit in het hartje van sfeervol Dordrecht op het Scheffersplein.Het terras heeft de langste tijd zon op het plein en voor een drankje of hapje voor een leuke prijs zit je daar goed.De eigenaar is meestal zelf aanwezig en zorgt ervoor dat alles soepel loopt en de klant op tijd bedient wordt.

Gezellig op het pleintje gezeten, aardige bediening en vlotte service. Aanrader is het broodje met pittige kip.

Broodje zalm met veel te veel dillesaus. Broodje kip was prima en zelfs met frites erbij. Latte machiaco was lekker. Goedkoop was het niet, integendeel. Eerder wat aan de dure kant. Toilet zag er niet zo verzorgd uit. Kraan van de wastafel zat los. Toiletpapier was niet in de houder bijgevuld en zeep was op. Bediening deed erg zijn best tijdens drukte en duidelijk krappe bezetting. Als er minder saus gebruikt wordt en extra aandacht voor de toiletruimte komt, scoren ze zeker meer sterren.

Taco s waren taai. Gelukkig heb ik m'n eigen gebit nog.

We had lunch here yesterday. We first ordered 2 sandwiches that served with 🍟. When the waiter was still noting that order, I said that we'd also like 1 portion of grilled vegetables. "Oh no, I think it's too much for you. The portion is big and you already ordered 2 sandwiches with 🍟", that's how he responded. "So, we shouldn't order this?" "My suggestion is not because it's too much for the 2 of you. But if you want I can make it". I personally have been working in horeca since 2017 in this country. I don't think it's an appropriate response to any guests. If guests order something and they can't finish what they order with any reasons, it should NOT be any waiters' problem. The guests toch still pay. The food was just ok. Nothing above the average.
