Cozy place with friendly service.

Delicious chicken satay, neatly presented, could have used a bit more satay sauce. The fries were nice and crispy. The service was super friendly and fast. The only downside was it was a bit cold; we had a table by the door, and many smokers kept passing by, resulting in cold air inside.

We haven't had such a delicious meal in a long time. The service was friendly and good.

Great cafe for a drink, snack or party!

Overall, a great restaurant with friendly staff and a warm atmosphere. I wouldn't recommend the bao buns; the cabbage was old and the bun was too dry. Otherwise, the food was delicious, and the portions were very generous! I also found the service too focused on upselling.

Friendly, efficient staff. Seating is available both indoors and outdoors. Enjoy the morning sun with good coffee, breakfast, or other delicious (healthy) dishes. Easily accessible by car (limited free parking, but busy depending on the time of day). There's a small outdoor area for charging electric bikes.

Great lunch with a delicious Twaalf uur (twelve o'clock), truly delicious! The avocado 🥑 sandwich and carpaccio sandwich, I understand, were also good.

Last Friday, September 19, 2025, we dined with a group of 15 people. We had menu 2. Some family members enjoyed their meal, but the steak was burnt and not cooked medium rare. One family member also had to wait so long for his main course, a tenderloin skewer, that we were all finished by the time he received his. I didn't think that was very good. We sat on the terrace, and when it got dark, there wasn't much mood lighting. A few minor points to consider. Otherwise, we had a pleasant evening.

Friendly staff Cheerful and attentive The service is good, they pay close attention, and the DJ is regularly asked if everything is alright. In short, a fun, spontaneous place with friendly staff.

The menu is unfortunately quite limited. We always came for steak in a pan. Sadly, it's no longer on the menu. We did have steak, but we had to order fries and the like separately. The service seemed friendly, but when we had finished our meal, the waitress came and complimented us on finishing our plates and said she was proud of us...as if we were toddlers. Sad, I don't know if we'll be back...

What a beautiful place, especially on a lovely sunny day. A lovely, large terrace by the water. Friendly staff and delicious food.

Great location with a lovely outdoor terrace. We ordered several lunch dishes, but none were great. There was some noise inside due to the music and smoothie machine.

A lovely stop during my cycling trip. The cappuccino was nice and warm, and the apple pie was delicious. Plenty of space to park a racing bike with a trailer, and a child seat was available. Quick service :)

Cozy accommodation, staff somewhat hectic

Nice surroundings and a pleasant atmosphere. Conveniently located, close to the road to/from Kijkduin. The staff is friendly. The food was good. We weren't impressed by the long wait times. It took over an hour between entering and eating. But okay, probably just an unfortunate timing.

Ate at the Bonte Haas this weekend. Cozy bistro with excellent service. Good value for money. The satay and hamburger were amazing. The spareribs were tender but a bit bland — they could use a better marinade. Worth visiting again, but not for the spareribs.

Tried two smoothies – berry & tropical 🍓🥭 Both were fabulous: fresh, full of real fruit, beautifully presented and a good size! 💯 But… the price was off – menu said €5.50, we paid €6.50 🤔 That really shouldn’t happen. A bit pricey for the location, but the food at nearby tables looked amazing, so we’ll be back to try more! 🍽️✨

My wife had spicy Thai chicken, which had absolutely no flavor and was served on white bread 🤷‍♂️. I had an "uitsmijter" (what's wrong with that?). The "uitsmijter" was fried too quickly, a slimy egg, and the bread slices were piled on top of each other, which didn't make eating it any easier. I've always had delicious meals in the past, including a tasty meatball in a pan and a delicious steak with bread, but unfortunately, they don't have them anymore. Such a shame!

Beautiful location right on the water – a really pleasant place to sit. 🌞 Service was quick and friendly, and everything worked well in English too. Orders were understood and served promptly. 👍 The food was delicious, especially the apple tart and the bitterballen with spicy mayo. The cappuccino came with a mini biscuit. 💪 Ideal for families: There's a playground for children, plenty of bike parking, and clean restrooms – what more could you want? 👍 Overall, a relaxing stop – we'd love to come back! 🚲☕🥧

We thought we'd pop over to De Bonte Haas. That was disappointing. The latte glass wasn't clean, very dirty from the honey from the previous one. We received a new one without an apology. Then I ordered tomato soup, and she asked if I wanted bread with it (I hadn't received a card), and I said yes. So when it arrived, it came with bread and a separate plate full of sliced bread with butter, no knife. It looked like I was feeding the ducks. The staff didn't respond. What a bad move! Way too much bread.

It wasn't busy, but everything still took a long time. The fillet satay was dry and had very little peanut sauce on it. We were very disappointed. The waitress asked if everything was to our liking. We said the satay was dry, but nothing more than "oh, too bad" was enough.

It's not what it used to be. It's expensive now, the menu is limited, and the atmosphere is different. It's a shame, we used to love going there.

Something's changed at De Bonte Haas. The staff is a bit rushed, and serving is done at the front of the table and then passed on. The menu is simple. All vegetables and/or fries have to be ordered separately. Ordering extra fries that were half-fried was a shame. At the end of the evening, busy cleaning up, but the customer is forgotten. So, no coffee or dessert then! Perhaps fewer tables and more attention to the customer?

We had a wonderful meal on the terrace. Delicious steak with grilled vegetables. We found the latter surprising; we think many restaurants underemphasize serving vegetables. Friendly service and quite fast. In short, a delicious meal. However, we do find the prices a bit high, especially the drinks.

The drinks platter is recommended. Half a cup of soup without even a piece of bread. You have to order that extra, huh? And the latte was just like a cappuccino in a latte glass. Cost-cutting?

Very bad experience, it is nice that you can order for pick up or delivery with phone number. There is simply no answer even after calling several times, and that on Saturday at 5 p.m.,

New menu, new opportunities, you might say..we come here regularly. The July monthly menu is fine if you like mussels, only a pity that the fries were forgotten, the staff had to point it out themselves. The classics are served without a side dish (fries or something) you have to ask for it yourself. The steak pan is also no longer there, unfortunately. It is now served with limp grilled vegetables. For me that is not an improvement. Too bad, I understand that you have to change and that the prices have to be adjusted but this is too much of a good thing for us. Unfortunately :-(

After a nice bike ride, I ended up at Eetcafé de Bonte Haas with a friend, and that turned out to be a bull's eye. We sat there all afternoon, had a delicious meal and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. The service was friendly and attentive, without being pushy. It really is a place where you can relax, whether you feel like having a good meal or just something nice to drink. Everything was right: the atmosphere, the food, the location. A nice stopover and a place where I will definitely come back.

Tasty cod and the steak from the pan was delicious. The desserts were also very good: cheesecake and strawberry sundae. Smooth and friendly service.

Not a bad menu, but the Broodje Bonte Eiersalade, which we ordered today, really beat everything. One slice of brown bread (brown buns were apparently gone) with a nice layer of egg salad and a few slices of cucumber for €13. Come on guys, this slice of bread was really embarrassing, with your competitors you get significantly more bread and 'decoration' for a better price. Too bad!

June 17, 2025: we sat here under an umbrella on this sunny day and enjoyed a well-prepared lunch. I ate the "lunch hour" there, consisting of a bowl of soup (I chose onion soup), a sandwich with a croquette and a sandwich with carpaccio. In addition, a delicious fresh mint tea. All dishes tasted great. Afterwards, we finished with a cappuccino.

After a lovely trip on the water. We had made a reservation at half past six at the Bonte Haas. After the order was taken, we went to ask after two hours where our main course was. This had not been reported to the kitchen and it would take a while. Because we would be short of time, we decided not to wait for this. I thought the compensation we received for this was very minimal. So we went to the snack bar. Too bad. No Bonte Haas for the time being.

What a wonderful location! We stayed 4 days at the mini camping Zwetzone 1 km away, but cycled past this restaurant every day and it was always full. Last night of our stay we had a delicious meal here and then the customer friendliness of the waitresses! Only praise😃 delicious food, great service and wonderful seating 👏👍👍

The location is not very exciting, inside everything seems cramped, especially when crowded. Food is fine and the staff friendly.

Nice location. Don't expect too much from the dinner.

Was a hot day, drinks took about 15+ minutes. Food was okay but not special. Didn't find the staff that involved, you had to wait a long time for someone to come while there were enough walking around. The voucher was a bit too expensive for what you get. After waiting 10 minutes for a waitress to pay, I walked in. I was told you should go to my colleague. I won't come back here myself

Nice place on the Zweth, but not all the staff are equally friendly

Drankjes worden het liefst niet uitgeserveerd , uiteindelijk werd het toch gedaan Spareribs op een onmogelijk plankje geserveerd. Kregen er een vingerdopje saus bij. Spareribs waren te droog en smakeloos. Er maar zout op gedaan. Avondeten blijft tegenvallen en te duur.

Nice and cozy. Especially when the weather is nice, there is a nice terrace and playground for the children.

After two visits I am unfortunately very disappointed in the customer friendliness of the staff. The first time we were spoken to rudely by a young waitress who clearly made no effort to understand us correctly or respond in a friendly manner. Words like “what?” instead of “what are you saying?” are not what you expect in a catering business. Another bad experience today: we ordered three gin and tonics that were listed with red fruit, but they were served without. When we said something about this, we were not offered an apology or alternative. This shows little respect for the customer. For the prices you pay here, you can at least expect correct service and a bit of customer focus. The staff still has a lot to learn in terms of manners. I won't be coming back here for a while.

A nice experience in wonderful weather

Ordered a latte with an apple pastry. Coffee came fairly quickly, when I asked if the pastry had been forgotten, the waitress said that they were getting fresh apple pie? When the cake arrived I saw a wet piece of cake that had probably just come out of the freezer. It was seriously so gross. Better to say no than something so nasty

We would have liked to drink a lot and eat. Unfortunately everything was booked. We had the card to have an aperitif we are still waiting for someone to take our order. After half an hour we left without having seen anyone.

Had a lovely drink on the terrace with a glass of rose. Nice and smooth service and the chef, Lorenzo, personally brought the drink mix. A nice end to a fun weekend.

Mooie setting, ideaal met kleine kinderen aangezien speeltuintje aanwezig is. De bonte haas bestempelt haar saté als signature dish. Jammer genoeg vandaag geheel mislukt, geen kleur, helemaal dood gegaard en droog als een brood van een week oud. Ik herinner mij dat de saté vroeger op de grill werd bereid, nu lijkt het alsof een stok saté in de oven wordt bereid. Zonde, advies is saté ergens anders eten, de rest wat wij gegeten hebben kan er mee door.

Delicious food after a beautiful bike ride through the Delflanden. It was still too early in the season to eat outside, but both the spacious terrace and inside are attractive.

Stranded here after a day of dune riot. I'm always wary of the phenomenon of a cafe, but that was absolutely not necessary in this case. Good food, excellent service and a nice corner for the children

Delicious food. Had a super tasty beer called Blonde Haas. Fast and very friendly service.

We had dinner for 38 euros and gave a voucher for 50 euros. We didn't get anything back.. really had to spend the 50 euros. Normally they just deduct 38 euros and you still have 12 left. They do this by scrumpy. Good tip....just mention it on the gift voucher.

Enjoy a nice lunch with friends. Kids played wonderfully indoors and outdoors. And despite the crowds due to the beautiful weather, the staff was fast, friendly and attentive. We live around the corner here and are happy to have such a nice place nearby.

Went for the first time last weekend, drank delicious Spanish Coffee and ate a delicious pulled chicken sandwich. Nice location good atmosphere and friends staff. Enough reason to come there more often.

The five of us had dinner at De Bonte Haas on Boxing Day. The food was delicious. Staff very friendly and helpful. Cozy atmosphere. I had my doubts in advance about going out for dinner at Christmas, but this is definitely worth repeating. Thank you everyone from De Bonte Haas!!!

Delicious and cozy cafe-restaurant. In the middle of the Randstad area and yet rural. Super friendly staff and service. Food (although the menu needs updating) is very good. The monthly menus are also usually well chosen. Anyway, tasty and cozy. Feel free to try it.

Price-quality ratio is low. Staff did not seem to be in a cheerful mood and regularly forgot something to other guests. My girlfriend got cold soup. After reporting, they took the soup back to warm up. The Soup came to the table just as cold the 2nd time. A mistake can happen, but the same thing twice in a row is not okay.

Always nice to have something to drink and eat.

Visited on Saturday 21st September. A beautiful day and a packed terrace. In terms of staff, I think this was unexpected. The staff was grumpy because there were too many visitors for the capacity of the kitchen. Tables were poorly cleared. Drinks took fifteen minutes to be delivered and lunch an hour!!! This is simply not possible, and if you know this: tell the customer and give the choice to wait a long time or go to another location. The food was okay but not special. All in all very unfortunate. Maybe a silly joke, but the pace of everything does not match the name of the business. Tip for the owner: next time close half of your terrace if you have too few staff.

A quick dinner, a place was found for us without a reservation. Great atmosphere and good food. Too bad the table was sticky, it looked like it had been freshly painted. Everything else okay.

Was there by invitation, so I don't know what the quality/price ratio is, but I do know that the quality is excellent.
