Very cozy restaurant and good food and drinks!

We have been coming here for years, but since it was taken over, actually less and less. When it is busy, it is far too noisy to have a pleasant conversation with your table companion; the tables are also very close together, so there is almost no privacy. Unfortunately, every available space is used to set up tables for guests. I also reported this to the wait staff, who are fine by the way. The staff confirmed that they are experiencing the same issues. Noise and too many tables; you can hardly walk through without bumping into other guests. We have also had better food than we did this evening.

Excellent views, food and service.

We ate here tonight; the food was delicious. Everything was delicious from starter to dessert. I had crusty bread, delicious Sticky Chicken, salmon fillet, and Dame Blanche with caramel sauce. The service was very friendly. We will definitely eat here more often. Regards, Frank and Renet

Not a very nice waiter. And weird that with your second cup of tea, you don't get a new tea bag, but they still charge the full price. 🤔

We ate with 3 people and the food is very greasy, also a lot of cartilage mixed in with the meat, and it is very expensive for what you get. In short, dissatisfied.

I got spare ribs and they were truly inedible. From the very first bite, there was a lot of cartilage in the meat. I thought it might just be bad luck, but the second bite was even worse, plus an extreme amount of excess fat. In short, it was inedible; you really can't sell this. They didn't even want to take it off the bill; scandalous.

Beautiful location, but unfortunately we didn't get around to eating. We had some drinks, but unfortunately ordering food turned out to be quite a challenge. We indicated several times that we wanted to order. But after a nod, new guests were served, but unfortunately they didn't come to us. Missed opportunity! In the end, we moved to the other side of the street. ‘t Wapen van Heusden; top-notch service and the food was superb. Highly recommended! They are clearly happy with customers 😁.

We were treated poorly. We really wanted to eat inside because I had a stroke and can't handle the crowds on the terrace. I was discriminated against because of that; I got angry and we left. We weren't allowed to sit inside. They couldn't keep up with serving. They should just hire staff during the holiday season. I found the staff rude. I will never come here again. Do I have to pay the price for having had a stroke?

Very nice place where you can enjoy a delicious meal. The staff is quick, friendly, and regularly asks if everything is to your liking. Update 25-07-2026 Went here for a drink after a lovely bike ride. I ordered a Hertog Jan Weisener and was shocked by the price. €11 for 0.5L Sorry, but I don't think that's normal anymore.

Nice spot with a view of the harbor of Heusden. Tasty sandwiches. Tasty apple pie and Heusdenaartje, a meringue pastry made with baker's dough. One downside is the price for a single Weizen beer. 11 euros for half a liter is really too much!

Only a few options in the menu, too many flyes, tasteless food, outdated atmosphere and the waitress brought more drinks than ordered.

We both had a schnitzel here: one with ham, pineapple, and cheese, and one with Parmesan, onions, and pesto. Both were great. The service was also friendly; we were able to sit comfortably in the shade even on this very hot day. Definitely worth repeating.

We had another delicious meal, and the service was top-notch. The location is amazing, but everything moves very fast; we were back outside in no time. Otherwise, highly recommended.

A real disgrace, substandard, steak not worthy of being called a steak, too small, not cooked as requested. Pepper sauce was a big blob. Fries were brought after we had already eaten. Spare ribs too dry. We will never come here again.

Probably the best view of Heusden from the terrace. Plenty of shade and there is a nice breeze. Classic Dutch food options, €8 for an Aperol Spritz. Service was very friendly and quick.

Simple cuisine but at the same time perfectly organized. Had spareribs with fries and that was really more than fine. Closes fairly early, so Cafe Kareltje is a great place to go for a nightcap.

While dining on the terrace of Eetcafé Havenzicht, which offers a beautiful view of Heusden's city harbor, we enjoyed the Kipsaté and a carpaccio salad – beautifully presented, generous portions, and delicious. The service was also very friendly. In short: We were satisfied and can recommend this restaurant.

Great location. The waitress was fantastic! Friendly and really attentive. We had a great meal. The spareribs were too dry, the schnitzel was good, and the hamburger was also good. The beers are good. This bistro is really central and highly recommended in good weather.

We were here for the Social Deal lunch walk. Bring your appetite, as the portions are regular size, not smaller because of Social Deal. The 3.5km walk is recommended. Be aware that you do have to climb a few steep steps, but it's manageable. Dogs are welcome inside the cafe! Definitely a fun activity!

Went here using a social deal, and the food was delicious. The social deal menu is a bit limited (but it's your choice), but the restaurant's menu is extensive. The staff is friendly. However, in some places, you sit right next to each other.

I had dinner here on a Saturday evening, having made a reservation in advance.

We had some soft drinks and bitterballen. The staff was friendly, and the view and location are great. It's just a shame you can't quite see over the wall. Food: 4 stars because the bitterballen aren't culinary highlights, but they were delicious.

What a lovely spot to sit! We sat on the side. You look out over the harbor, and there's so much to see. We had a wonderful time. The staff is super friendly, and the food is delicious! We thoroughly enjoyed it.

We had a wonderful meal at Havenzicht. We sat outside in the sunshine by the harbor and were served by friendly staff. The portions were generous, and the food was served quickly. Basically everything you could expect from a cafe. Definitely recommended if you're in Heusden!

With a lunch sandwich and smoked chicken fillet, you expect a crispy, freshly baked baguette with real pieces of smoked chicken. What you get is a (not fresh) sandwich with chicken filling you'd buy at the supermarket. Not only a disgrace, but also a deception, as the menu suggests. Absolutely a disgrace to the lazy and cheap service!

Ate here today, was disappointing. Chicken satay with fries, 1 stick with 1 small container of fries for 2 people. No garnish. And this for a price of € 20, - p.p.

We got a bare plate without any garnish. When I asked for a salad I got a bowl with dried cucumbers and tomato. We were not asked if we wanted something to drink. The glasses were collected. We did not feel welcome! Really a huge disappointment!!!!!! Such a shame because it costs over 100 euros for 4 people.

Service could be much better. Order is taken by mobile phone. Then picked up too late at the bar so lukewarm coffee twice. Mediocre price/quality ratio. Too bad! Owner should invest more time in training/induction of staff.

On my birthday here for lunch in a beautiful location. Still early in the season. The "bouncer Havenzicht", was excellent, large and well cared for.

Dit eetcafé bevind zich op een mooie locatie in Heusden, binnen de vesting. Je kijkt uit aan de ene kant over het gezellige marktplein, en aan de andere kant over een kleine jachthaven. De bediening was erg vriendelijk, en de sfeer goed. Het hoofdgerecht had weinig groente maar daar hebben we nog om gevraagd. Ons toetje was cheesecake en die geef ik het cijfer 4. Het was geen echte cheesecake maar meer een stuk boterkoek waar wat stroop overheen was gedruppeld. Daarnaast een mini bolletje aardbeienijs, wat qua smaak niet paste bij elkaar.

Boat in the harbor and eat at Havenzicht. What more could you want? We regularly return to the port of Heusden and have eaten at Havenzicht again. Delicious schnitzel and fantastic tenderloins fell prey to our healthy appetite this time.

We had a delicious meal here last Friday. My wife had the Entrecote, perfectly cooked as she requested. I had the spare ribs, these were also delicious, so cooked that they fell right off the bone and came with 2 extra sauces. Really great there, we will definitely see them there again on our next visit to Heusden.

We had a nice meal here. The menu is not original or extensive, but the food is just good! Nice location. Staff top!!!! We arrived just after closing time from the kitchen but were warmly welcomed after consultation. Hospitality that really makes you happy.

The service is really very bad, we are with 7 people and the waiter walks past more than 15 times in the 35 minutes that we are sitting on the terrace, he looks several times but just walks to the new guests who are sitting at a table, sorry but this is way below standard. We wanted to eat and drink here.

Tasty food, quickly served, quiet place

Well, we came from our holiday from Spain and France to Heusden. It is a beautiful town with a beautiful square with beautiful terraces. The satay is served without lettuce, so only a skewer and fries. We were used to France, where water is immediately served to the table in abundance and for free. When we asked whether tap water is served, we received an affirmative answer without mentioning the costs. It's strange if you have to pay 2 x 2.50 for 2 half liters of tap water. Unfortunately, it is normal in the Netherlands. That's why we don't eat out that often anymore.

Really a restaurant to come back to. We had a fantastic meal. My husband had a schnitzel and I had a fish salad meal. Large portions and perfectly prepared. Good house wine and delicious desserts.
