Great little restaurant for breakfast and lunch. The orange juice was freshly squeezed and delicious. Scrambled eggs with crispy bacon and great toast. Absolutely top-notch.

We stopped here for a relaxed lunch after spotting a board advertising pumpkin soup. The dining room was completely full, so we grabbed a table along the canal. It was definitely chilly in November, but we were dressed warmly enough to enjoy the setting. The pumpkin soup was delicious and piping hot, exactly what you want on a cold day. Rich flavor, smooth texture, and served at the perfect temperature. We also ordered mulled wine and learned it is intentionally not very sweet. That was exactly what arrived. Pro tip: ask them to heat it extra hot because it cools quickly when you are seated outside. The fresh mint tea was fragrant and very comforting. For food we shared two sandwiches. The smoked chicken and Brie panini was hot pressed and served open faced with a generous layer of Brie. The tuna melt arrived closed but needed more time to fully melt the cheese, which the team handled immediately when we asked. Both sandwiches had clean flavors and good bread structure although the tuna melt would be even better with an open faced toast to finish the melt evenly. Overall this is a solid daytime cafe with friendly service, a classic Dutch lunch menu, and canal side seating that feels very local. Great option if you are wandering the Nine Streets area.

We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance while searching for a place with delicious food. We tasted the most delicious falafel sandwich and the most amazing scrambled egg bagel with guacamole. I highly recommend it! Yummy! 😋👌🏻 Our Saudi and Gulf brothers will love it too! It's a shame this restaurant isn't praised! 🫶🏻

Super sandwiches! We stopped at this little place after a long stroll through the streets of Amsterdam. In the summer, there are also some very cute outdoor tables. Inside, there are very few, so you might have to wait a bit. The sandwiches are really good, so I recommend it especially for lunch. Don't expect super low prices, but the quality is there and you can taste it.

Never again!!! The smallest cheeseburger in Amsterdam!!! Tourist rip-off!!! Go two streets away and get a full meal for the same price. The young waitresses couldn't help, and the "boss" wasn't available.

Wonderful little Canal side cafe. A good selection of gluten free open sandwiches. Sadly fries are cooked in the same fryer as gluten containing items so no fries. But the truffle parm steak sandwich was absolutely excellent! Tasty flavoured lemonades and great service. Would recommend.

The food and the terrace were quite disappointing. The Club Sandwich was 6 toasted white bread slices and the home made lemonade tasted like a normal lemonade.

Este lugar, cuando tenía un toldo azul, era uno de los lugares más populares y deliciosos de la ciudad! Regresé hace poco después de unos años de estar fuera, y aunque los artículos en el menú han seguido siendo los mismos, los precios son mucho más altos (de acuerdo, eso es comprensible) pero la calidad es muy diferente. ¿Qué ha pasado? Después de que llegamos a casa de nuestro almuerzo algo triste, sintiéndonos un poco engañados, miré las críticas y parece que en 2020 , las cosas cambiaron para peor. Aun así, no está mal: el servicio es precioso y la ubicación es muy buena, pero ya no es buena comida. 15 euros por solo - bien sándwiches con exiguos ingredientes. Comprador cuidado: Algunas de las fotos en línea no son como se ven los sándwiches ahora. Sería una calificación "promedio", excepto que es tan decepcionante esperar algo mejor. ¿Qué ha pasado?

We had a great time, excellent place on the canal for coffee, beer and something to eat.

I’ve been visiting Singel 404 for over 10 years, and it’s always been a quiet breakfast spot where you could enjoy really good quality food in a lovely setting. On my most recent visit, I noticed that all the different styles of bread they once offered are now gone. The portion sizes have also been cut in half, while prices have nearly tripled. I understand the impact of inflation, but I have photos from my yearly visits, and the difference in both size and price is undeniable. Unfortunately, out of principle, we can no longer support this place, which is a real shame as it has been a favourite for over a decade.

Was very excited about this place- it’s super cute. But ended up waiting for at least 40 minutes for a cold open face sandwich that also didn’t have the protein in it lol They told me they would bring the protein but never did so I got a 2€ discount. As someone who’s worked in the restaurant industry, I know it can be tough sometimes but this was very disappointing.

Nice outdoor patio area by the water. The service was good and the food was also pretty good, decent portion size but a bit overpriced. Still a nice spot to have a drink and enjoy the view.

Cozy place for a quick lunch. Large selection of sandwiches, paninis, etc... smooth service. Rather on the more expensive side, but value for money!

Toevallig liepen we hier voorbij en omdat we nog niet geluncht hadden, hebben we eerst even een blik op de kaart geworpen. We zagen dat het een Italiaans georiënteerde kaart was. En besloten naar binnen te gaan. Waar we door vriendelijk personeel werden begroet. Het zag er verzorgd en gezellig uit. Op de kaart staan naast pasta’s en pizza’s ook verschillende broodjes. Wij besloten pasta te nemen en één van mijn dochters bestelde de loaded fries. De gerechten zagen er mooi uit, het was lekker en de portie was groot. Voor sommigen van ons net iets te groot. Kortom een goede prijs kwaliteit verhouding. Deze plek zullen wij zeker onthouden, voor ons volgende bezoek aan Amsterdam.

They use to have better bread. I think they use some kind of half "volkoren" "whole wheat bread. Sandwiches are nice but missing that oomph. My sandwich had no dressing/sauce or olive oil. His was too watery due to the bell pepper and tomatoes. Service is 👌🏽. 7/10

Tenía muchísima hambre y elegí este café para comer un sándwich de pollo con bacon, para mi sorpresa el pollo era jamón cocido de pavo o pollo y la presentación no fue de mi agrado, excelente servicio y buen ambiente

I was very hungry and I chose this cafe to eat a chicken sandwich with bacon, to my surprise the chicken was cooked turkey ham or chicken and the presentation was not to my liking, excellent service and good atmosphere

Pasamos por este restaurante camino al museo de Ana Frank. Hablamos con el propietario y nos quedamos tan impresionados que, después del museo, caminamos 1 km de vuelta al restaurante. No nos decepcionaron. Mi esposa tenía lasaña y yo pizza pepperoni. Wow! Ambos acordamos que estos platos estaban entre los mejores que habíamos probado. Maravillosa pasta fresca y la base de pizza era perfecta. Seguimos compartiendo un tiramisú (¡es bastante grande!) y eso también fue genial. Vale la pena visitarlo.

A friendly owner with delicious sandwiches. The layout of sandwiches is traditional and documented in a book for chefs who must adhere to this guideline when preparing them. The quality remains optimal due to this management. 💪

Wandering around Amsterdam , we luckily found this canal side restaurant around lunch time . We sat in sunshine in front of the cafe window watching the world go by. We order a smoked salmon salad sandwich on brown toasted sourdough with avocado, red onion and a mustard mayo sauce plus a side salad , big enough to share ! It was one of the tastiest freshly made sandwiches I have ever eaten on our travels . We chose a glass of Pinot Grigio to drink and some water. The service was excellent delivered with a smile , all very reasonable priced . I would highly recommend this haven of delight . Enjoy ☺️

We were indecisive on where to eat dinner this evening, and stumbled upon Singel 404 and saw a few tables free! Staff were welcoming and friendly, and absolutely loved the pesto chicken pasta 🍝 you can choose from 3 kinds of pasta for your dish which was great. So flavourful and a decent portion! Thank you 🥰
