Delicious food in a relaxed atmosphere

The café exudes warmth and coziness. I ordered a latte macchiato and a slice of chocolate cake, both of which were delicious. The staff made time for a quick chat, which made the experience even more personal. The decor was creative, with lots of plants and artwork on the walls. The soft background music made it complete. This café is a little oasis in the city.

We arrived around ten o'clock. A sandwich with (wafer-thin) bacon (or bacon slices) with mayonnaise, a real pulled pork croquette with mayo, and a meatball sandwich for my table companion, a latte macchiato, and a regular coffee... The food was okay, the bacon slices were so wafer-thin that they were a bit dry, but luckily the mayonnaise made up for it. The coffee, on the other hand, wasn't my thing. I value flavor immensely, and especially when it comes to coffee, you can get a better cup from the competition. Personally, I don't find it necessary to serve coffee with long-life milk; that "long-life" stuff always has a slightly off flavor, but maybe that's just me, because the owner told me they've been doing it this way for 15 years... and they never have any complaints about the coffee, which is possible, but I'm just critical and like good quality coffee, and this definitely wasn't that. A regular coffee machine, cup under it, press the button, and it's ready, just like in the cafeteria. I mentioned that I hadn't finished the coffee, but unfortunately, nothing was done about it (a decent shop had taken it off the bill, like I used to do when something wasn't right when I was in the restaurant business). Then I ordered a Coke Zero. I always drink it straight from the bottle, which was a good thing because the glass I received with it had a big crack and a piece of the rim missing. We'll definitely be back for dinner, but I'll just have it without the coffee.... 👊👊👊

Fabulous breakfast stop having cycled off the ferry. Small detour from the Rotterdam path was well worth it. Delicious breakfast, good coffee and super friendly service. Recommended.

A great place to enjoy a delicious meal in an informal atmosphere. The portions are generous or large. The food is very fresh and prepared with care. The staff is very friendly and attentive. You don't have to ask for anything; they keep an eye on everything. The bill was also reasonable, so definitely recommended. The only criticism might be the lack of parking. That's a bit of a disaster. But then again, the café is located in the middle of a transportation hub.

Eetcafé Westgaag knows how to treat guests like no other – old-school hospitality at its finest. Pleasant attention, without being intrusive, and a warm atmosphere you rarely encounter these days. The portions are generous, and the price-quality ratio is excellent. The staff is friendly (even towards children), attentive, and genuinely engaged with the guests. Special compliments to Charisse: she understands what hospitable service is and delivers it with flair and genuine care. In short: a top-notch place without pretense – exactly how a café-restaurant should be.

A fun place for entrepreneurs to meet. I also saw four people playing cards together. The atmosphere is good. The service is also excellent. The only minor drawback for me is the acoustics. Because the place is almost circular, and therefore has windows everywhere, the sound absorption is somewhat limited; this is especially helpful if there are people there who are slightly deaf, like me. The food was also delicious!

We come here quite often for the spare ribs. The last two times, it was disappointing; the ribs were dry, and they're normally served with a side salad, which they've cut back on. The quantity has also shrunk.

My old review edited. Previously always fine to eat but the last 2x were really worthless. Spareribs had no taste and were as dry as anything. Chicken schnitzel that was not cooked. After indicating that it was disappointing, the following response was given: "we hear this more often". Too bad that the quality is deteriorating.

Very good food, when I order there for my whole family everything tastes great. However, our last visit was unsuccessful because on Sunday this restaurant was closed which we had no idea about, although we go there from time to time being somewhere in the area. Despite this I will visit you more than once and I highly recommend it to everyone.

Geweldig gegeten alles was zoals het moet zijn! Goede porties, leuke bediening, gezellige sfeer! Kan me niet vinden in de mindere reviews, want komen hier regelmatig en hebben altijd goede ervaring. Ook als er iets niet naar wens is wordt het gewoon netjes direct opgelost.

Wij hebben altijd met tevredenheid gegeten, maar helaas was het vandaag niet naar onze wens, mij man had een broodje kip, waldcorn broodje gevraagd maar helaas was het een wit broodje. Ik had een wrap met krokante kip met wokgroenten, daar zat ijsbergsla op met een klein beetje wokgroenten en veel te veel pittige rode saus daar zwom het in. Tot overmaat van ramp gingen we afrekenen met een cadeau bon blijk dat die niet meer geldig was hij zat niet meer in het systeem. Blijk dat de mededeling op de bar gestaan heb, in januari zijn we nog geweest ook met zo zelfde cadeau bon betaald er is ons nooit verteld dat die eruit ging het stond ook niet op de cadeau bon. Wij zijn diep teleurgesteld !!!!

Gezellig restaurant maar eten is matig. Had spareribs met honing besteld met gebakken aardappeltjes. Op het menu staat “ onze vleesgerechten worden geserveerd met salade”, maar er was niets van een salade te bekennen op het bord of apart. Serveerster aangesproken daarover maar haalde schouders op en zei dat ik dat apart had moeten bestellen. Dat is niet wat er op het menu staat. Vlees smaakloos en alleen met de aardappelen erg karig voor het geld wat je betaald.

Eerdere ervaringen waren beter. Van de bediening tot aan het eten was het deze keer minder dan de vorige keer, een jaar geleden ongeveer. Bediening was wat chaotisch en duurde wat lang. Eten was minder van kwaliteit dan de vorige keer. Spare ribs waren goed gaar maar vetter dan anders. Hoeveelheid patat voor 4 personen wat aan de magere kant. Bij de desserts vond ik het ronduit verrassend dat de slagroom apart a 0,95 euro gerekend wordt. De totale beleving dat je bij Westgaag altijd goed kon voor een redelijk/ goed prijs is niet meer zo positief als dat het geweest is.

We come here regularly, but the last time we were very disappointed with the food. Spare ribs were dry, had very little sauce on them and were presented without anything on the plate, no salad or piece of vegetable which was normally always the case. Now had to ask extra for it and were charged extra. Fries were very dry, almost impossible to remove. Westgaag salad was inedible, thrown together on the plate, tenderloin tips overcooked. We were there in honor of our 65th birthday, which was mentioned in the reservation and no attention was paid to it at all. In short, it was a disappointing experience, which we are not used to at Westgaag.

Ik heb even een mededeling over iets wat me niet lekker zit,,ik leesdat als je jarig ben,de jarige een maaltijd van jullie kado krijgt,,mits je op maandag of dinsdag komt eten in de week dat je jarig ben,,wat ik hartstikke logisch vind,,wat ik niet logisch vind is dat je dan wel minstens met 3 betalende gasten moet komen eten,,ik vind dit echt niet fair,,niet iedereen heeft familie of vrienden,,en dan krijg je dit dus niet,,ik vind dat echt niet reëel,,geef dan iemand die maar alleen is of maar samen zijn ,een korting op de maaltijd!

This place is amazing, I stopped there for a breakfast after long driving. The Dutch breakfast was one of the most tasty and perfect breakfasts I have been served in my entire life. All the ingredients (bread, bacon, cheese coffee, etc.) were high quality and really nice, bread freshly baked & crunchy crusts, just sooo good 😋 The place has unique decor, is very cosy and bathroom is designed in a very modern way. My experience here was awesome and I highly recommend this place.

Nice atmosphere, but a money grab: Burger of the month tried FROM €17 is on the menu. The prices are not stated anywhere. Afterwards the bill turned out to be €21.50. So apparently they can come up with prices themselves. 4 burgers included 4 fries, we got 3 bowls of fries. I reported this, but she said that 1 bowl was slightly larger and actually counted twice. Afterwards the receipt only showed 3 fries. Mayo was not requested but was given. It turned out to be 0.75 p/s afterwards. Ordered cheesecake €8.25 hoping for a good quantity. 1 scoop of ice cream, 1 small cheesecake and 1 scoop of whipped cream. Without any questions, an extra 95 cents will be charged for whipped cream on top of the €8.25. The plates were made for 3 balls, so I think they are required to take an extra 95 cents from each customer. And then about the taste; My 22eu burger tasted a bit meh, nothing special. Certainly not for that price. My girlfriend had the Westgaag burger, which I thought tasted a lot better. The fries and twisters were definitely good. The cheesecake with ice cream tasted good but was very little for €9.20 Furthermore, the atmosphere was very good, nice surroundings and layout All in all not enthusiastic

Ondanks de (gezellige) drukte hadden alle medewerkers een lach, namen de tijd voor je als klant, alles liep gewoon gesmeerd, en het eten was goed. Kwamen heel regelmatig langs om te vragen of alles (nog) naar wens was. Vrolijke, vriendelijke, kalme medewerkers. Ik kom graag weer een keer.

"Burger of the Month - Pulled Pork Burger The ultimate taste experience! A 150-gram Angus beef burger, melted cheddar, juicy pulled pork, fresh coleslaw, pickle and tomato, finished with a creamy BBQ sauce. Citizens as they were meant to be." If you like raw meat then it is certainly a taste experience. But okay, it can happen. Waitress takes plate back to kitchen. Burger returns. Not a new freshly baked burger but the same burger that was returned which was slightly less raw but still contained raw meat and was not up to temperature. You have to look for the juicy pulled pork. This was certainly an experience, but not one to go back to Westgaag for. "Citizens as they were meant to be"? I think this chef should stop handling hamburger orders. Ugh....
