When I'm lazy to cook my own Indonesian food and I'm craving for it, this place provide the most authentic Indonesian food I can find in Geleen. So I'm happy to have access to it.

We opted for a meal for two. More than enough, delicious flavor, but the balance between meat and vegetables/side dishes was a bit too meat-oriented for our liking. The staff was very friendly, open, and attentive. The atmosphere in the restaurant could use some improvement, but it's certainly not unpleasant.

I thought I'd have a tasty soto here, but it was a huge disappointment. The broth was okay, but everything else was very mediocre. Bread instead of rice, a small piece of egg, meager vegetables (not even bean sprouts), and two stray pieces of chicken. Such a shame, I was really craving it.

Very tasty, relaxed, and cozy atmosphere... Great company with laughter and tears! The food was served in a buffet format that was frequently replenished, from hot dishes to cold ones. Everything was there for a delicious meal! We will definitely be back.

We were here earlier in the evening, and I was very enthusiastic and had a delicious meal. This time we wanted lunch -> "12 o'clock snack"! Poor service; after a long wait, I had to ask someone to take our order. Huge difference in wait staff. The "12 o'clock snack" wasn't available. Fortunately, the chef was accommodating and came up with a variation. Satay once: it was cold. Not really satisfied at all. It was a disappointment, unfortunately.

The food is delicious, the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is calm and cozy. This is highly recommended; we don't eat Indonesian food anywhere else anymore. 🥰 I normally take photos of everything, but the food is so delicious that I always forget. 🙈🤤

Reasonably priced, but I don't find it Indonesian at all. The satay sauce is a real thick Dutch satay sauce (like Wijko), and the lettuce that comes with the satay is in honey mustard sauce, which doesn't complement Indonesian food at all. I've eaten at a lot of Indonesian restaurants and restaurants, but this is the most Dutch-tasting. Friendly staff, though, and the place looks nice.

Delicious authentic Indonesian food

What a terrible experience! A whole lot of staff serving, and we often found ourselves socializing around the cash register... the first round of drinks was quickly ordered upon arrival by a waitress (which was a good thing), who then presumably finished her shift, unfortunately... Despite the four staff, I had to ask for another drink myself. There was much more money to be made there... After a long wait, we finally got our main course. The food wasn't great either; the nasi and bami (fried rice) tasted awful, and the satay was lukewarm, and the chicken thigh dish was also dry. A waste of time and money!

Great restaurant. The food was delicious and well-seasoned. The Rijsttafel Batavia is more than enough for two people, and for €45 for two, it's a great price. Friendly service, too.

The food was delicious. It's not an extensive menu, but what's on it, like satay, is delicious. And you get a beautifully presented cup of coffee. And all for a very reasonable price. The menu is extensive and offers many tasty dishes.

Always top and tasty, very hospitable

We had a buffet on a Thursday evening. We initially had to sit upstairs, which wasn't very inviting. It was also inconvenient, as I had difficulty walking. The buffet was very extensive with plenty of choices. However, there was no indication of what it was, so you often had no idea what you were eating. You also had to carefully check whether it was meat or fish. We also found the flavors rather bland. The staff was friendly and quickly cleared the table and plates. But unfortunately, the buffet didn't live up to our expectations in terms of flavor. We expected more and have often eaten better Indonesian food. Or perhaps we'll return and try a dish from the menu.

We had a delicious meal from the buffet. Fantastic, what a selection! Everything was perfect, even the music. Afterwards, we were offered a glass of cendol.

Delicious rice table and it was certainly enough

We ordered the panggang menu. The dish was delicious. After dinner, we ordered tjendol, which didn't meet our expectations. There were large chunks of "coconut cream" in the tjendol. According to the woman behind the bar, this is how tjendol should be, and we were told to stir our glasses well. Our group, two people of Indonesian descent and two of their partners, know how tjendol should be. The chunks were so large that we couldn't dissolve them. Furthermore, two glasses had the chunks and one didn't. When I asked the woman behind the bar if this was correct, she reacted angrily, and after I returned to the table, I also mentioned it to other staff members. As a staff member, you should always listen to a customer and speak to them properly. The staff is very young. There were no experienced people present, so we had to wait a long time before we could order. We were here with friends who had been here before, and according to them, this was the first time things had gone this way.

We had a delicious meal from the open buffet. It was just a shame there weren't any cards with the dishes telling us what they were called and whether we could or couldn't eat them. It was also a shame that the chicken satay at Saté Indonesia restaurant was gone by dinnertime and wasn't replenished.

Had a delicious lunch here. We had Dutch cuisine, not Indonesian.

We ate once at the old building, and we had no complaints there. In the new building (more than twice as large), the food is also excellent; portions are generous and well-seasoned. The chef is super friendly and professional. However, the staff seemed clueless and had little experience. We had to wait a long time for our drinks and there was one small mistake with our order, but all in all, it worked out well. The delicious food made up for the long wait.

Nice restaurant. The food was good. Wednesdays and Thursdays they have buffet. There was a lot of choice. Especially saté and peanutsauce. Sadly there was no information about, what was in the food. I almost missed ayam ketjap because I thought it was fish. Please name the dishes and if it's ayam, babi or ikan. Optionel spekkoek or que lapis for dessert would be nice too.

We had a delicious Indonesian rice table. Everything is freshly made, there's a cozy large terrace, but also a large restaurant inside. Friendly staff. Highly recommended! Our bellies were full! On Wednesdays and Thursdays, the food is buffet-style. I'll definitely be back. The price was for two people, food and drinks. And definitely worth it!

Ended up on the advice of sister and brother-in-law. Coincidentally, buffet on that day. So ideal to try different dishes. Every dish was simply delicious.

Had a lovely meal with Mo and Luna

Satay is in the name so that raises expectations. The satay-ajam tasted ok in itself. The cubes could be a bit smaller. Then the marinade will also penetrate deeper. The satay sauce was certainly below par and not Indonesian so perhaps not homemade, including too little soy sauce and not sweet enough. You can actually see it from the color. The dish Ritja Ritja, on the other hand, was a nice surprise. The sauce was very rich and spicy enough and the amount of chicken was more than average. The service was young and lacks the element of host/hostess. There were enough staff walking around. The location is fairly new, neatly and attractively decorated and there is a nice large terrace. Parking is possible a stone's throw away on the market. Update 20-06-2025: Quick response to my review. That means that my review is taken seriously. I really appreciate that. And yes, that's right. Tastes certainly differ. Mine is based on those of different islands. Personally, I like the Balinese taste. But I will go back to taste the satay sauce again - it can vary from day to day of course - and also try another dish to see how it is.

The food and drinks etc is delicious and super tasty, And the owner is also friendly and very hospitable just like we Indian people are. Only what I find less is, the staff in the service, I don't find them really friendly and hospitable! They seem more like they don't feel like their work! For an Indonesian restaurant, I find the staff in the service less! (Especially the ladies.) They need to learn more about customers and how to receive them best and be more friendly and also really hospitable. I come from Indonesia myself and was born and raised there and the difference is there, With us it is about conviviality, eating and being together and having respect for each other and not to forget always keep smiling and positive. Good food, very nice service. Good experience. Two very small points for improvement: A little more food for the price would be nice, and a separate dish for the little ones. But in the end, top!

Delicious chicken satay eaten with Nasi goreng. You can taste that it was made on the charcoal BBQ. Satay sauce also delicious in taste. Nasi had some lumpy balls in it which did not bother me, but I did hear another customer sitting next to us. You sometimes have to "catch" staff to order something, I personally have no problem with that. We will definitely go back.

Have wanted to try it for a while and today I spontaneously and totally inappropriately dressed walked in. Food was very good and large portions. Not enough space on the table. Staff is incredibly friendly and we had a lot of fun with them, especially her. Service that remained very friendly, polite and also very professional. Compliments. I think we may not have been the easiest customers, but were treated more than nicely. I will definitely come back here.

The order was taken. I asked if there was rice with the tempeh. The answer was no, only with meat and fish. Ok, ordered a bowl of rice. Table companion asked if there was atjar and kroepoek with the sate babi? No. Ok, also ordered extra. It took quite a while before the food arrived. When it was served we got 2 bowls of white rice, 2x atjar and 2x kroepoek. I got tofu. I hadn't ordered it. It was exchanged without any problem. Tempeh was cold. I asked about it. Yes, we only serve it warm on request... ok, how should I know? The nasi was also cold. Yes, she said, it has to stay warm on the warming plate. Nice, but it turned out that it wasn't on. At the end they asked if it had tasted good. We explained about the atjar and kroepoek. Yes, the girl said, that depends a bit on the kitchen. Sometimes they give it with it, sometimes they don't. Drinks were only put down in bottles the second time, no new glass. Now I had to pay 15.50 plus 3 euros for rice while rice actually belonged with it. 15.50 for that bowl of cold tempeh was also really too expensive. Our criticisms were heard but nothing was done about it. Very unfortunate. 1st and last time for me. Had email correspondence with the owner about this review (I think). He watched the camera footage... (what???) to trace the incident and address his staff. The offer was then 2 free drinks on a next visit. Great, that 3rd person should not come along... Given the extra money we spent unjustly last time, no thanks.

We come here regularly, but only because of the good food. Today we felt like having a Soto Ajam, so of course we went to Geleen and back :) We could forget about that 'just'....... We are used to the fact that the staff is not at all familiar with each other, and sometimes just walks around like a headless chicken. Today was no different. We had to wait a long time before someone came to us, but that can happen. After we had ordered (2 Soto Ajam, and a portion of satay), it took no less than 70 minutes before the soups were on the table. 70 minutes for two soups!!!! Just before my patience ran out and we wanted to leave, they arrived with the soup, and also the satay. Without cutlery, we had to wait a few minutes for that of course. The satay was lukewarm and the satay sauce was even less than lukewarm. I didn't feel like saying anything about this because at the table next to us, things had also gone wrong. And the reaction of the employee said enough. The snack that these people had ordered at 12 o'clock, appeared to be gone, so they had added another snack without consultation. I won't go into details. The soup was nice and warm and was very tasty, that must also be said. The umpteenth experience at Saté Indonesia where you can eat very well, but the staff is otherwise below par. Little experience and perhaps a bit understaffed today, I don't know. But if you want to run a restaurant, you have to get this right first. Next time when we want to eat a soup 'quickly' we will think again :) We will just stick to the buffet next time because this is always very good.

Ate here for the second time. Now in the new building. The food taste was excellent again. Some downsides; the food was not nice and warm. The tables are far too small to put all that food from a rice table on the heating plates. Other than that, we will definitely come back.

Beautiful open space with beautiful corners and levels according to your wishes, and for people with wheelchairs also spacious downstairs. Also ideal for large groups, buffet twice a week. Wednesday and Thursday, we were there on Tuesday and had a great menu of 43, 15 choices with shrimp, meat, etc. Everything was special and prepared with care. Staff and chefs friendly, good-natured and passionate about what they did. Violent dog. Will DEFINITELY come back and promote you! Open kitchen spick and span hygienic. Toilet also smells nice, spacious and very neat. Certainly all stars where parking is possible right next to the town hall, I think it is. Located on the Grote Markt at Hema, etc. for orientation on the corner diagonally opposite. Recommended to celebrate your life after a hospital visit or just to treat yourself every day. Everything was equally tasty and surprising. Then play the fuel tourist in Belgium and you have earned 20 euros again on a regular car.

Very difficult to give a correct assessment. But let me start by saying that we ate a delicious Indian rice table. Unfortunately, things are not going very smoothly in the restaurant... this restaurant has recently moved to the new location at Markt 50. This new location is a lot larger than the former location and it was noticeable that the kitchen was not yet there. was responded to. We waited an hour after arriving for the rice table for 2 people. When we had not received anything after 45 minutes, we were told that this waiting time was quite normal. Once the food was served, everything came at once, which is a shame, because it would have been much nicer if it had been served in 2 parts. Especially because there isn't much room on the tables at all. It was also noticeable that some of the staff was quite inexperienced (everyone has to learn it somewhere, but correct training is important). And when the waiting time for a rice table is so long, it is only logical that this is reported and that something is possibly offered to nibble on while waiting (naan bread with a dip for example). Finally, it was also extremely cold in the restaurant, which did not make the whole situation any more pleasant. As mentioned in the beginning, the rice table dishes were tasty, but unfortunately our experience was a lot less good. If we go again, it will probably be during one of the buffet evenings.

If you like traditional Indonesian food you must have been here at some point, we try to go every other week, sometimes buffet and sometimes rice table, everything is delicious and freshly prepared. Affordable and delicious, what more could you want? The owner is a top chef and the hostess knows how to greet everyone in a nice and warm way. What you don't eat will be nicely wrapped. The new location is superrrrr so I just say go👍

Yesterday afternoon, November 23, 2024 at 4:00 PM, we had dinner here for the first time with neighbor Roland. Very good and nice service, all very nice people, especially hostess 'madam Jeanette' . It felt like we've been coming there for 10 years. The food was great, everything fresh. Really great from the chef. Super tasty food. Flavors are truly Indonesian and everything tastes very fresh. Service could be better. Forgot a lot, had to ask for something again regularly. Young ladies were not fast, the older lady was great and had to take over a lot from the 2 younger ones.

I would have liked to give more stars if possible. So yummy, yummy, yummy. Really wonderfully authentic. Went there for dinner with a group last Wednesday. Enough to choose from. Flavor explosion, delicious spicy Pepesan, delicious tender chicken. Will definitely come back.

We had opted for a buffet, there are about 12-14 dishes to choose from, so there is something for everyone, as I am used to, the food is excellent again, delicious, even our guests from Hoogeveen want to come back for this, if they will visit Limburg again. The food was decent! Some meals better than the others! Only on the terrace it smelled a bit as if someone had ruined the plant suit. And when we had paid and wanted to leave, the manager said very aggressively thank you gentlemen”

I had dinner here with my family and the food was the best of the evening. The service on the other hand was dramatic as we had to wait more than 30 minutes for our apple juice which tasted like urine. We eventually walked out of the shop and saw a large plant there that also smelled of urine. My son watered the plant and we walked away quietly. A little later the gentleman came out angrily and said: "Thank you Herin". I think this is also the reason to give the atmosphere and service a star. Just a bad thing!

We were at the market and smelled the satay smell. That led us to their satay stall. We enjoyed it and that led us back to their Ibu Fifi satay house. The rice table was a good choice. Everything equally tasty and authentic. The next day we got food there. It's that we live in South Holland, otherwise we would have visited more often. Enak itu! Oh yes, don't forget the cendol and the wonderful music I grew up with!

Food is less than lukewarm,dry meat. Satay was still good. Had to wait 1.5 hours. When asked whether they had forgotten us after others who arrived much later received their food, there was no real response. Portions very little. No choice in noodles, nasi etc, only white rice. No, not for us anymore

Before we finally got our food we were 1 1/2 fires away. Guests who arrived 20 minutes after us received their food before us. Complained about this and asked if they had forgotten us. We noticed that only 4 meals were delivered in an hour. Service was friendly but did not pay attention to the guests. Food was mediocre. Only the babi and ajam satay were tasty. Bacon satay was very greasy. What bothered us most was that the food was very lukewarm. After we expressed our dissatisfaction, we were offered a drink. Not for us anymore.

Leuke en correcte bediening, heel fijn ontvangen. En vooral heerlijk eten, top‼️ geschikt om als koppel te zitten en ook voor grotere gezelschappen.
