The delicious scampi was an excellent start to an excellent menu. Whether fish or meat... Everything was very appetizingly prepared and had delicious side dishes. The crowning glory at the end: vanilla ice cream with eggnog. We'd love to come back.

We can 100% recommend this restaurant. It was very busy, but the staff were always attentive and very friendly, with no sign of stress. The food was also absolutely delicious and prepared to perfection. We had a starter, main course, and dessert to celebrate the occasion.

Eating in a cozy, homely atmosphere. Friendly staff. Good food for a good price. You see us eating delicious food here several times a year. When they know you have something to celebrate, they think along with you. For example, by having fireworks with dessert.

Food: Excellent!!! Special praise goes to the chef; the meat, especially the spare ribs, was an absolute feast for the palate. The taste was delicious and the meat was super tender, so there was no endless fiddling around trying to remove it from the bone. We'll be back :) Greetings from Germany

Staff and food were all excellent. Something the owners could and should do something about is the acoustics which are truly abominably bad. People think they are so important that they have to talk very loudly so that everyone has to experience their "interesting" lives. Especially parents of children who are also there (screaming, yelling and all) and also our eastern neighbors the Germans. In my opinion 75% of the visitors are deaf.........I don't understand why everyone has to talk so loud, look at your partner and talk calmly and watch for a miracle your partner understands what you mean and what you are talking about........

Food and Service was this year by far not so good as it was last year or the year before. The value for money was on a low level. We had to wait for a long time to get our first drinks and later on they have forgotten 2nd orders for drinks as well. We came in on May 1st in the evening. There are other restaurants in the vicinity which have a much better service and food quality.

The main courses are, as always, perfect and of the best quality Unfortunately the side dishes (vegetables and salad) were without much taste. We always enjoy coming back

Fantastic and personal welcome from Owner Rachel. The food is always top notch, well prepared and served with personal attention and friendliness. Always a repeater for us. This time we were close to a large group of 10 people, which caused some noise pollution for us. Perhaps it is also due to the acoustics in the conservatory. What we continue to find disturbing is the presence of dogs in the restaurant, especially if they squeal and touch you.

A culinary highlight in Scharendijke! Our visit to the Eethuis Schouwen in Scharendijke was a complete success. The stylishly furnished inn offers a pleasant atmosphere and is complemented by extremely friendly, attentive service. The starter - a cleverly prepared beetroot tartare with feta foam, fresh herbs and balsamic vinegar - was a real treat for the eyes and palate. For main courses we chose a delicately fried sole wrapped in bacon and a perfectly balanced surf & turf. Particularly noteworthy: Side dishes such as fries, salad or vegetables could be ordered free of charge - a service that is rarely found today. The desserts were also a dream: a fantastically creamy tiramisu and a delicious ice cream with chocolate, refined with homemade eggnog - a sweet conclusion at the highest level. The whole thing was accompanied by original cocktails, a highlight in terms of taste and appearance. Eethuis Schouwen completely convinced us - we will definitely come back!

Extremely positive experience. The Dutch can do gastronomy. And how! Service top, warm, attentive, sooo nice. Food also very good. There are still a few foods on the menu that we really wanted to try, but unfortunately we're leaving tomorrow, but next time we're in the area it's an absolute must to come back here. Nice little restaurant in this small place. We came across it through the Google recommendation in Maps, since we were nearby, we decided to eat there at short notice, even if we hadn't made a reservation. We were there shortly after the restaurant opened and were able to get a table for two people in the restaurant's winter garden. The small but fine menu leaves nothing to be desired. My wife chose Surf & Turf (beef fillet and prawns with truffle mayonnaise) and I chose a breaded schnitzel gratinated with onions and cheese. As a side dish there was mixed salad, warm green beans and we chose sweet potato fries. Everything was super tasty and special mention should be made of the super crispy fries. In addition to a good wine list, there was also a beer list with a wide selection of regional beers. Also enough non-alcoholic drinks. The tiramisu served for dessert was, according to my wife, the best thing she had ever eaten. It was absolutely delicious and obviously homemade. The service was very good and they also spoke good German. A visit is really recommended. In the season and on weekends, a reservation is certainly recommended, because today (Wednesday) all seats were reserved except for the two small tables in the winter garden. There was still a cozy atmosphere in both the guest room and the winter garden and the service carried out its tasks professionally!

A wonderful, small, and truly value-for-money restaurant with excellent cuisine and great staff. We went there twice in five days and will be back on our next vacation. Absolutely delicious! A very nice atmosphere... the waitresses were very friendly, asked several times if everything was OK and the very, very good food was served very quickly. You could order side dishes free of charge and the menu was very clean and tidy. You don't get overwhelmed by too many dishes. A restaurant to feel good.

Really nice restaurant and very friendly service staff. Unfortunately, there isn't such a good review. We ordered monkfish once and the daily special, veal fillet with pepper sauce, twice. The fish dish was very good. Both portions of veal fillet tips were rich in terms of side dishes. Unfortunately the meat was really tough and I complained about my portion. The really friendly waitress took my plate and after a while came back to our table with the comment that this was brand new fried meat. Unfortunately only a very thin part of the edge was ok and you could almost “tenderly” say the rest of the meat was just as tough as before and most of it went uneaten, unfortunately. When clearing away the waiter asked and couldn't understand that most of the meat was still on the plate. Original sound: The first dish was veal, the second time the beef was used, which was also used in the “Surf and Turf” dish...Fun fact: There was zero visual or qualitative difference. Anything can happen. BUT: The full price was charged for veal fillet, no sorry, no offer of a “goodie” in the form of dessert, digestif or even a discount. Too bad!

Super friendly service, food tastes good. You can even order extra vegetables and fries, which are included in the price. We will come back regularly to enjoy an evening!
