Erawan Thai Restaurant in Oude Stad

Thod Man Plaa isn’t special at all, but Thom Yam Koeng , Ped Phad King and Tahoe Phad Phak is tasty, friendly and good service 👍

The food is always top-notch. Lots of options, good service. Eat in at Erawan or takeout. Both too.

Finally found authentic Thai food in the Netherlands! 🇹🇭🇳🇱 Everything just came together here. The food was genuinely delicious, the service was warm and attentive, and the cozy atmosphere made the whole experience even better. If you’ve been craving real Thai flavours, this place is definitely worth a visit. One of those restaurants you leave already thinking about coming back. 😋 A must-try for Thai food lovers!

Very nice restaurant, friendly people, good food. I can highly recommend it.

Once again, we had a delicious meal at Erawan, and what lovely, attentive people! They also take their time with you, which is really nice. There is also a nice atmosphere in the restaurant; people chat comfortably without it getting too noisy.

Always delicious, I've been coming here for years, very friendly people, just as it should be.

We had a delicious meal, nice and spicy, which we love. We couldn't decide what we wanted at first because many dishes contain coriander/Thai basil, something we absolutely do not like (we lack the gene to enjoy it). With the help of a friendly staff member, we figured it out and were very happy with our choice. We enjoyed ourselves.

Delicious food - the green papaya salad was delicious!

Very tasty, authentic food, we recommend the tamarind fish 228. if you want to have some real Thai food go here

This is the best Thai restaurant in Haarlem, Amsterdam, and the surrounding area! Always super delicious! The fish cakes are highly recommended.

Had a delicious meal, pleasant service!

Lovely place, friendly service, and delicious food. It was our son's birthday and he treated us to dinner. The food was served quickly and was without exception very tasty. During dessert, the staff came to sing at the table. Very nice. Highly recommended.

Had a delicious meal and an extensive menu with specialties.

I am Thais and I tasted an authentic Thais taste here, delicious, fast service and reasonable price. ❤️

You are welcome, it was nice and quiet because it was Monday I think and the food was exquisite. Without asking, we were given a bag with what was left over. Delicious!!!!!! The portions are really big.

Experience more than 30 years in Haarlem, NL. Confirm Original Thai food can request real Thai taste🌶️🌶️🌶️

Had a good meal and pleasant service. It is just a small gesture, but a nice one: the first scoop of rice is served from a bowl. These nice people have been there for 36 years and hopefully for many more years to come.

Delicious, and even vegan dessert!

The place is very nice inside. We ordered Pad Thai, it was delicious, we all loved it

Simple restaurant, but foil excellent and fair prices

Excellent food! Extremely delicious! Kind service also :)

The food was tasty, it's just a shame that there really isn't enough rice with it. That's why only three stars.

Highly recommended. Authentic food and good service. Reservations are recommended.

The food is fine, but the service is veeeeeery bad.

Wow! This is how I remember the food in Thailand! Great Thai cuisine, with, I think, every dish you can find in Thailand! What a selection! The food was delicious, and the staff were helpful and friendly. Great hostess.

Reservation highly recommended!!! Very friendly staff. Nice food.

A gem for vegans and vegetarians in Haarlem. Friendly staff, orders arrive quickly and everything is super tasty. Great value for money also. Highly recommend

really good pad thai and cozy place. reccomend!!

We had a delicious meal, a real taste of Thailand. It was our first time but definitely not the last time.

Delicious Thai food in Haarlem, with authentic flavors and fresh ingredients that immediately stand out. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy a delicious evening. Definitely recommended for lovers of good, spicy Thai food!

I've rarely had Thai food. What caught my eye were the chili peppers on the side. Something I'm not allowed to have. But what I did have, the pork belly with bamboo, was delicious. The portions were generous. The Thai beer was deceptively delicious. Definitely a restaurant I recommend. But they've been around for over 30 years, so that speaks volumes.

Best Thai restaurant in Haarlem!

Delicious authentic Thai food. Lovely service. The host and hostess were very friendly. Sweet!

They had a special daily menu for the Christmas market. Delicious.

Great food, great service, fair prices! Definitely recommended.

We had a lovely meal served by a genuinely nice hostess.

Then you order food from them and then you don't get your order delivered at home, never order from their scammers, I didn't even get my money back

Chicken with cashew nuts simple well Delicious.Paneng chicken also excellent.Must well make a reservation.

I come here to eat very often. I love the big fish with chu-chi flavor. Not expensive 22.95, € Very busy. Well reservation needed

Delicious chicken with onions and peppers, good price and quality

Fried fish with sour curry super good. Delicious food 😋🎉

Very delicious. Very good service.

The atmosphere is great, and the staff are lovely.

The Thai papaya salad is very delicious, but the Chinese kale and crispy pork are very delicious. The crispy pork is also crispy.

Very tasty and authentic cuisine. Good, generous portions. Attentive service. I'd gladly return.

Delicious, affordable food. Nice atmosphere and friendly service. Definitely worth a visit!

It was our first visit to Erawan, and it won't be our last. Everything we ate was delicious, the dishes were beautifully presented and perfect for sharing. The location and service were excellent. We made a reservation, and it was a great idea; without a reservation, we probably would have had to wait for a table, as the place was packed. Our dinner included four main courses, four drinks, two desserts, and two coffees.

The best Thai restaurant in the Netherlands – a gem in Haarlem. I eat here regularly and every time I enjoy the authentic Thai flavors. My absolute favorites are the Tom Kha Kai and the beef salad – both perfectly seasoned, fresh, and just like in Thailand. Everything is prepared with care and love. For me, this is without a doubt the best Thai restaurant in the Netherlands. The service is always friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere is warm and cozy. It's truly my go-to place in Haarlem. This Saturday, I'm going back with a group of friends because this restaurant is too good not to share. Highly recommended for anyone who loves real Thai food! See you Saturday! Mo

Sunday evening, September 7, 2025, I picked up two som tom papaya salads from Erawan Thai Restaurant. Som tom is one of the tastiest dishes in Thai cuisine; in all my travels, the quality has always been between adequate and very good. However, at Erawan, the quality of the papaya salad was subpar; the balance of sweet, hot, and fresh was completely lacking. Too bad, Erawan Thai Restaurant, a very poor experience. Rick Scheurkogel Dear owner, In response to my review, I want to share my reaction with you. Well, why would you listen to the customer? It's much better to respond to a takeout meal by telling the customer to return from home to the restaurant with the salads, where they'll likely have to listen to all the talk about recognition and authenticity, blah blah, from a restaurateur who already doesn't listen to criticism. What a joke, but amusing to read in the comment that the customer's opinion and experience are completely irrelevant—only the one-star rating is truly addressed. We're good, we've been recognized, the owner liked it, and we don't care about your opinion, but it's lame that you're giving one star. This comment is also only worth one star!

Best Thai food I ever had in Europe!! And I’m Thai!! 🤗

Been coming here for a few years now and it's always delicious. Yesterday I decided to let the owner choose something for us. Otherwise, you often end up choosing what you already know. The dishes were superb! I'd never eaten there before, even though I've been to Thailand 15 times. I got some great tips for our upcoming trip there. Not so good. If I have one thing to comment on, it's the wine. I had a delicious jasmine tea yesterday. The wine list isn't really extensive, which isn't a problem, but the house wines do need to be good. They're not bad, but they're certainly not good either. It would be great if they'd select a few new house wines with the help of a sommelier. I'd happily pay a bit more for that.

Yesterday I ate at Erawan for a birthday, and I so regret it. We felt completely unwelcome from the start. The food was literally thrown in front of us, and when I asked for ice cubes in my drink, she yelled and made it clear she wasn't happy with my request at all. The food didn't taste Thai at all, far from it! I went to the bar to pay, and there I was asked how I liked it. I honestly told her it wasn't her fault, but that we hadn't been served very kindly by her colleague. She was completely understanding and begged me to keep coming back. After we left, our waitress chased me and tugged at my arm to come inside to explain to the manager what she had done wrong. I went inside, but I felt incredibly embarrassed, and it was an embarrassing display. We will never, ever, ever come back here again. If you want a pleasant evening and good food, I recommend you find a different restaurant.

I often get takeout from Erawan, but this time the portions were much smaller than usual. And the price was higher. Has anything changed? The taste is also a bit blander than I'm used to. The fish cakes weren't fresh. Too bad!

Very one dimensional flavors. Pad kee mao basically tasted of salt and nothing else, but was generous on the meat/shrimp. Service was friendly and quick but the food was not at all close to what Thai food should taste like.

Not authentic in the slightest. Would you like mushrooms in your pad kra pao? Even after specifically clarifying the ingredients before ordering. The food was a real disappointment.

Bad service, terrible food. They don't take responsibility for anything.

Erwan in Haarlem serves truly delicious Thai food. Fresh ingredients, bold flavors, and a warm atmosphere make it a spot worth returning to.

Great service and great food! Loved it and would definitely come back again!

Delicious food! We will definitely be back again

The Thai ladies make authentic Thai food, with Thai service. Delicious! Been great for years!

Amazing food with great ambience and courteous staff! Loved the green papaya salad! This place is a must visit on your visit to Haarlem!

Authentic Thai food. That was so delicious.

Good food good ambience, I recommend the fish with soursouce amazing(number 228)

Really good food, great service and fast even during peak times. Just make sure to make reservation during peak times.

Fantastic food and fantastic service!

i have been waiting for my order for over an hour and they will not pick up the phone i would not recommend ordering at this restaurant

Got takeaway yesterday. It was truly a taste sensation. :)

Very unfortunate, I ordered from them via uber, after almost an hour the delivery person comes with the wrong order. The management of the store itself does nothing to solve this properly. The only option is to place the order again. Not even a bag of kroepoek to make up for it. In my opinion really no style and I am very disappointed and even angry.

By far the best Thai restaurant in Haarlem with authentic Thai flavours. Been coming here for years and never disappointed.

The food was amazing but a little expensive

Good food and kind service! Amazing the coconut Thai soup 🍲

We came to celebrate a birthday and had a wonderful time! The restaurant has a very pleasant atmosphere, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. The dishes (chicken and shrimp) were large, delicious, and beautifully presented. Some of the seasoning was spicy, but in a nice and balanced way. Great experience overall – we’ll definitely come back!

Best Thai in Haarlem! A delicious menu that makes it difficult for you to choose. Very fast service and everyone is super friendly. An experience that makes you long for the next time.

Super tasty food and very hospitable service. We will definitely come back.

Ordered from my hotel room. Worst Thai food I’ve ever had. Sate was dry, pad Thai had no taste. Didn’t read the notes so no fork to eat with.

Fantastic meal! Super friendly service.

Wonderful friendly service with great food. We eat Thai often and the quality and portion size made this a memorable meal and an excellent value. Highly recommend reservations. We booked online and were sent a confirmation. We arrived at 6:15 PM and by the time we left, the place was packed.

A great place to have authentic Thai food. Very tasty combined with excellent service. You should make a reservation in advance, for this restaurant is quite busy with locals.

Cozy spot with amazing Thai food

Very good. Good food friendly people. Definitely come back again.

A bit tucked away from the main square, this is a fabulous Thai Restaurant for many years now. The restaurant was almost fully booked with reservations, so I was glad to made my own one a day before. The food was really tasty with just the right amount of spices and het. The staff members I met were also truly amazing and friendly. This was a wonderful last dinner during my visit to Haarlem.

Enjoyed delicious authentic Thai dishes for a friendly price!

Authentic Thai! Delicious food and nice, good service. And my favorite dessert: mango sticky rice!

The food is tasty, but the service is often poor. Not all tea glasses were clean. Some waitresses are a bit grumpy and some are very nice. We sat next to the entrance and it was cold. Some think they are entering a church, this could be much better.

Made a reservation via the website, had no response, did not receive the call and were full....a shame!

Had a very tasty dinner. The servers were attentive. Prices were fair. Be sure to request spicy because they tend to default to the Dutch level of spice.

Really nice Authentic Thai cuisine run by thai people. Nice service and hospitality.

Super tasty food, don't order dishes with too many peppers if you're not used to it 🌶️🌶️ Staff is busy but friendly 😊

The food is very tasty, but I must honestly say that the staff is very rushed and does not look very cheerful. You almost get the feeling that you have to continue eating so that the table can be occupied again.

We enjoyed it. The staff was particularly friendly and attentive. A great evening (18-10-2024) with delicious dishes! Worth repeating.

This authentic Thai restaurant is definitely worth a visit to eat delicious dishes. The degree of spiciness is carefully taken into account. I love curries, highly recommended.

Yesterday we had dinner with 4 people. Our reservation was not on the list, even though we did have confirmation. Still got a table. Sat near the door, which was constantly left open as the delivery people ran in and out of the restaurant. Staff was disinterested and not really friendly. Used to be our favorite Thai, now discontinued. The food was tasty by the way.

Best Thai food in the city! Service is amazing! Highly recommended to visit!

Tasty beyond expectations. It is also a delivery restaurant and they have a boring menu with a lot of numbered dishes. That doesn't really appeal to the imagination. But when the dishes arrive on the table, it becomes clear that they have a fantastic kitchen. Really delicious food.

Relaxed, authentic place with good food. Pleasant staff. The food was perfectly seasoned and there was a good selection of dishes. Mostly locals, we were the only non Dutch in the restaurant.

I’ll keep it short, this is one of the best if not THE best Thai restaurants I know.

Food was delicious. Sufficient. Excellent service. Tasteful.

Delicious to eat, atmosphere is not! But food makes up for everything!

Friendly/warm staff. When I picked up I received a bowl of prawn crackers while waiting. Unfortunately, when eating the curries, they are very watery and very salty. You taste more salt than the flavors a curry has to offer. Shame!
