Lovely place, beautiful on the water, good service, nice menu, delicious food

Beautiful location, friendly staff. The food looked good. Didn't order anything, but the prices are no longer reasonable. Lunch is absolutely ridiculously expensive.

I'm crying in my heart that the bittern has closed for the winter again. I'll definitely be right there to visit them again in January 🥰🤩 The photos are of a chicken and egg sandwich, grandpa's meatball with fries, and a freshly made warm waffle with warm vanilla sauce.

Last night, November 2nd, we had dinner with friends at De Roerdomp for the first time. What a breath of fresh air! The first thing we noticed was the friendly and enthusiastic staff, young people with a passion for hospitality. The food was simply delicious, well-prepared, and generously sized. The owners should be proud of what they've achieved here. We'll definitely be back.

What a great place this is! It's in a lovely location right on the water and has a lovely, cozy atmosphere. I had lunch here today with a colleague, and we had a wonderful time. They have a nice and varied menu with delicious food, all at reasonable prices. The service gets 5 stars, but it really should be 6. The staff are fantastic—cheerful, friendly, and attentive. I highly recommend it, and if we're ever in the area, we'll definitely be back.

Delicious food. Friendly staff and a lovely location right on the Rottemeren lake. You can enjoy a delicious bite to eat during your walk. And afterward, take the ferry. Note that this ferry operates until the end of October and then until 5:30 PM.

Cozy little place with friendly staff. The shrimp burger is really delicious, and so is the meatball. We wanted to buy the nice beer glass, and we could for a few euros. The food arrived within 10 minutes.

We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary at this beautiful venue. Thanks in part to the professional and friendly service and a delicious buffet dinner, it turned out to be a wonderful celebration.

De Roerdomp never disappoints; I've been here several times. The staff is truly incredibly hospitable and attentive. The dishes are top-notch, top-notch.

Lovely food by the water, always delicious. But very disappointed with the service. If you're having your drink before 5 p.m. and ask for the drinks menu, and want to order a drinks platter for 5 minutes, the kitchen closes exactly at 5 p.m. for a drinks platter!!!! Even though the time isn't indicated on the menu, and we didn't get any information about it when we received the menu, otherwise we would have ordered it with our drinks. Imagine our surprise that they offer other snacks. Keeping the kitchen staff happy is more important than your customers. The owner doesn't respond and isn't very customer-friendly.

What lovely, attentive people work there. It's a very cozy spot with a beautiful view of the water. We didn't eat there, but we had coffee and pastries, but I would definitely come back for a bite. It's also fun to take the ferry there for a short trip.

Schön gelegenes Bistro / Restaurant direkt am Wasser, aus mehreren Richtungen sehr gut mit dem Fahrrad zu erreichen. Wir hatten das Glück einen Tisch auf dem Steg zu „ erwischen“ und konnten so unser Abendessen in der Abendsonne genießen. Sehr freundliche junge Frauen im Service, aufmerksam und flott. Die Karte bietet für jeden Geschmack etwas - Fisch, Fleisch, Vegetarische und auch Vegan. Wir hatten Fisch und Huhn, beides sehr lecker . Dazu gibt es eine große Auswahl an Getränken, sogar mit einer separaten Bierkarte. Insgesamt eine Empfehlung !

On a beautiful summer evening enjoy the view over the Rotte, the Prins Alexander Rowing Course and the skyline of Rotterdam. The menu offers more than enough choice for us, what struck us here was how carefully the presentation of dishes has been thought through. For example, the accompanying fries are in a paper bag so that they will not cool down too quickly, clever. In short, we had a great evening and can recommend the Roerdomp to everyone for a visit.

In de zomer rijden we altijd met de Scootmobielen vanaf de Zevenhuizerplas richting de Rotte en rijden op de linkeroever naar de A 12 en zo richting Zevenhuizen en de Roerdomp waar we altijd gaan lunchen. We komen hier al 15 jaar omdat het daar gezellig is met uitkijk op de plas en goed eten. Soms hebben we pech want dan is het stampvol ondanks dat de Roerdomp zo groot is geworden. Marlika en René

Reuze gezellig, lekker aan het water. Zeer, maar dan ook zeer professionele bediening. Heel kantvriendelijk. Super lekker eten, met verrassende combinaties.

We had an absolutely delicious meal! We started with a bread roll, which was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. For our main course, we had swordfish and the Crispy Chicken burger, both incredibly delicious! And then there was dessert, the Grand Dessert... 🤤 We'll definitely be back!

Made a reservation on Friday morning, May 9, 2025, for lunch with 2 people on Sunday, May 11 at 12 noon (Mother's Day). When making the reservation, ask the question if the weather is nice and if it is suitable to take a seat on the terrace. In the afternoon the Bittern responded that we were very welcome because they do not accept reservations on the terrace. I will respond in response to whether my reservation has been retained because I asked the question "whether it is suitable" (assuming it is full, we can take a seat inside). On Saturday afternoon, May 12, a counter response stated that unfortunately the Bittern indicated that this is no longer an option because we are full because you indicated that you wanted to have lunch on the terrace. The bad thing concerns late communication and a matter of reading emails what is written.

On Saturday, March 1st, we celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary with over 30 guests at De Roerdomp. It was an unforgettable evening. The buffet dinner was delicious and perfectly tailored to our guests' wishes. Every half hour, our fantastic waitresses, Jamie and Kim, brought delicious snacks. The ambiance of the conservatory was wonderful. A lovely and atmospheric space with a beautiful view of the Rottemeren lakes. We had a perfect evening with our guests. Thank you, Roerdomp!

The service was incredibly friendly and kind. We were warmly welcomed and served quickly. The food was delicious, except for the spare ribs, which were unfortunately a bit tough and had a lot of fat on the meat/bone. Too bad, this was the only plate that wasn't empty. Everything else was fine!

They have great food and a beautiful atmosphere. And also a beautiful area to walk. We come here more often because the food is so good.

I come here regularly, for lunch or dinner. In the summer you can sit outside here after a nice walk in the area. For dinner I like to order a steak, that is really recommended! The staff is friendly and always up for a chat.

I indicated that I was pregnant when ordering my goat cheese salad. I got a goat cheese salad with raw ham. They indicated that it was no problem to exchange it. However: it turned out to be a problem and I had to pay for the salad. Since half the world's population is pregnant with some regularity, the restaurant could take the trouble to look into this a bit more. In addition, it is not very nice to first promise something and then retract it.

Stopped for a bite to eat while walking, cozy atmosphere with a view of the lake. Pleasant service. Food (the teriyaki sandwich was okay, a bit bland for me; it needs more flavor). The menu often includes fries, croquettes, frikandel, and other items, I believe. Definitely a place I'd go to again.

Fantastic place, honest and tasty food, nice service

On Friday, November 8, 2024, my partner celebrated his birthday with lunch at this restaurant. During a previous visit, we had pre-booked a table for five people. However, upon arrival, it turned out to be taken by others. A shame. Despite this disappointment, the lunch was excellent. The service was very friendly, and the food was plentiful and of good quality. The final score for the entire group was a solid pass.

On October 27, we celebrated my 70th birthday at De Roerdomp with family and friends. It was an unforgettable birthday. The hot and cold snacks and the chicken satay that was offered at the end of the party were delicious. The team was very attentive and their enthusiasm was noticed by the entire party. The children also received a lot of attention. A separate table was set up for them. The party at the beautiful location on the Rotte will always remain a cherished memory. Peter van den Houten

Beautiful place on the water, many people came by bike to enjoy the sun and view. Wide choice of lunch dishes. Good price-quality ratio. Salmon club sandwich is highly recommended, salmon is specially smoked. But actually it all looked good, including the drinks board next to us. Parking can be a challenge.

Excellent meal salads are served here. When the weather is nice, this is of course a beautiful terrace in a quiet location. The service is also friendly and correct. In my opinion, worth 5 stars!☀️
