Never order at night!!! It clearly says double cheeseburger, and I get a regular burger. The fries tasted like plastic. Absolutely awful!

The quality of the food is sub-par, certainly for the price. The delivery boys are a menace on the road. Avoid this place.

I want to express my frustration about what my girlfriend and I experienced at Phat Fiiils very clearly. What happened there felt completely wrong to us – it was transgressive and downright disrespectful. We were just getting our food and were treated like we were worthless. When my girlfriend commented on how she was addressed, they just laughed and condescended. I find that kind of behavior truly ridiculous and completely unprofessional for a business that works with customers. As if that wasn't enough, we got the impression that some delivery drivers were speeding around on scooters without a license. It was crystal clear there was absolutely no oversight or safety. That kind of behavior is not only illegal, it's also dangerous – for them and for everyone else on the road. It just makes the whole place a mess. I'm absolutely fed up with how we were treated. You'd expect a business to take its customers seriously, but here you only get rude comments, disrespectful behavior, and total chaos. I think it's ridiculous that this is allowed to happen. I sincerely hope people know what a mess we went through there.

The food was disgusting. I ordered fries with mayo in the store. The fries felt very dry. Furthermore, it's a disrespectful establishment. I walked in and immediately wanted to leave because of the young people hanging around. They were smoking and doing drugs inside! I don't understand how the owner could allow this. I asked for a chair to sit on, and they reacted very disrespectfully. There were even mice in the store, unbelievable. A tip for all readers: if you're considering ordering this, I recommend having it delivered. I wouldn't recommend this food anyway due to hygiene concerns, but if you do order, order online!

I'm still completely stunned by what happened at Fat Phill's. I ordered food, but when the delivery driver arrived, he became aggressive because I didn't tip in the pouring rain. To my disbelief, it escalated into a physical attack. I was actually assaulted by an employee of this company and sustained injuries. After the incident, I tried calling several times to report it, but no one answered. No apologies, no contact, nothing. The way this company treats customers is absolutely disgraceful. As if that weren't enough, the food was also absolutely disgusting. The burger tasted old and greasy, and to my horror, I even found a thumbtack in my food. That's not only unsanitary but also extremely dangerous. Fortunately, I did get my money back from Thuiszorgd, but I will never order from them again and will warn anyone who wants to order from them.

Ordered twice already, even during peak hours. Food delivered quickly. Burgers super nice. So definitely 5 stars.

Cheap American style food, lots of carb, lots of fat, bad quality meat. Didn’t know they sold this crap outside the USA (except Yellow Arches, Mc,,,, still one star less). I got a Texas something. Nothing Tex style about it, no spices,. tasteless. I threw half away.

Terrible service. I've ordered from here before, and everything was always okay, nothing special. This time, the mac and cheese came with barely any chicken (two pieces, even though it's normally full). They argued with me on the phone and said someone would come by and check, only to find one piece of chicken and say it actually has chicken in it. Fine, but I won't order from here again. I'm not usually this difficult, but the way they treated me is ridiculous, even though I order from them regularly.

Normally, the food is very good. But this time it was really disappointing. The hamburger tasted a bit burnt and was completely squashed. This way, all the flavor is lost, and it was really noticeable.

Antisocial delivery drivers. I had a rude delivery driver at my door on Saturday evening who literally threw my food at me and said he was in a hurry. I didn't leave it at that so I called the store but kept getting voicemail. Yesterday I called and got someone who didn't speak Dutch, which I found strange because we live in the Netherlands. So I decided to go to the store yesterday (Sunday). There was no manager or anything so I had to leave again. The store has no responsibility at all. They kept telling me to talk to them and leave. I didn't know what was happening to me. I will never order from here again.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A hidden gem in Leiden! I had heard a lot of positive things about FatPhill's, so my expectations were high — and they were more than exceeded. From the moment you walk in, you feel the relaxed atmosphere. The staff is friendly and genuinely interested, which really makes a difference these days. But of course it's all about the food, and that's insanely good. I went for the “Fat Bastard” burger (the name alone 😄) and it was perfect: juicy meat, creamy cheese, and a brioche bun that doesn't fall apart halfway through. The fries are crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and perfectly seasoned. My girlfriend had the vegan option and was also impressed — not always a given at burger places. What I especially appreciated was the attention to detail. Everything is freshly prepared, you can really taste that they cook with love here. And despite it being a popular place, we didn't have to wait long. The price-quality ratio is very good. FatPhill's is, in my opinion, the best burger place in Leiden. Absolute recommendation for those who like good comfort food, without fuss but with character.

Was at Fat Phill’s recently and honestly? It was really good. Had a Philly cheesesteak with extra sauce and fries. Everything was super juicy, well seasoned, and just a good greasy snack that you sometimes really want. Portions are huge, you’ll definitely be full afterwards. It’s not the cheapest, but you do get a lot. And that sauce… it really makes everything better. The atmosphere is relaxed, a bit of a street food vibe, nothing too fancy. It was busy when I was there, so I had to wait a bit, but it was worth it. If you’re hungry and fancy some nice messy food without any fuss: this is your place. Not a place for a first date perhaps, but great if you want to eat with friends.

I really liked the place, I especially liked that it was halal! And the food was with me quickly. Everyone was nice to me and I liked that too.

Terrible place, completely disrupts the neighborhood with its neon signs and the owner does not want to cooperate in any way to change it. The owner did not seem bothered or sorry by the fact that since his opening A LOT of neighbors have complained and are more than annoyed by two big neon signs on each side of its façade (type of signs you do not see around this neighborhood that are super bright and turned on so late) and prevents them from sleeping. The extremely bright light goes directly into the houses. Instead of a switch that only turns off everything at once, including the sign, it would have been more intelligent to have two separate switches, this way you would have avoided annoying an entire neighborhood. Since the moment we have complained to the owner a few days back, he has left the lights on all night on purpose, despite his closing time between supposedly until 11pm. Not very client and neighbor friendly is it ? Says a lot about the restaurant…

With a minimum order cost of €35.00 I will (with my 1 person household) definitely never order here. The delivery cost from Leiden <=> Katwijk of €10.00 is way above average for delivery. Halal is not my belief and is not on my menu.

Ordered via Uber - takes an hour and a half for the food to be delivered. The sandwiches are cold and inedible. When I call them they tell me to contact Uber eats Worthless food

Horrible food! There were four of us and each had a sandwich with fries. The fries were soggy and did not do justice to the Dutch art of fries. The sandwiches were soggy, almost mushy and drowned in a cheese sauce (poor finished product). The meat was also rubbery. Unfortunately, an absolute failure.

IT GOT SO BAD! NB! It was always freshly made and lately you get chicken pieces made hours earlier, soft, not even warm. I used to come here quite often but lately McDonald's chicken nuggets have been crispier than their chicken tenders. Don't do that people. I advise everyone against this.

Solid burger joint, people work hard

This really is a mega store. Well worth the money. It's not much different from McDonald's in terms of price and this is much larger and really good quality. The pistachio milkshake is the bomb!!

There was too much sauce on my Buffalo wings. The sauce wasn't tasty either. Paid 8 euros for 6 wings. Very unfortunate.

Ridiculous price for what was delivered. Paid more than €20 for deflated mozzarella sticks, dry chicken (with black bits?) and extremely weak fries. Also tasted like old frying fat. Paid extra for plastic packaging when there was no plastic to be seen. If you do use cardboard, use cardboard without plastic. My sauces were not included (ordered 2). I read here that Fat Phillls writes that the same quality cannot be delivered when delivered compared to eating on site. That should be mentioned and mean something for the price. Worthless!!

As an American in Leiden, I figured I needed to provide my expert opinion on what Google claimed was a place serving American cuisine. With a name like Fat Phill’s (extra L at the end isn’t very American but still a good name) it’s definitely descriptive of what many Americans would eat on a regular, possibly too frequent, basis. Hamburgers are one of my favorite foods, so I’m a self-proclaimed expect on good burgers. The burger had an unusual taste. Not bad, just not what an American burger would taste like. Probably due to the different beef in use and where that beef was raised and what it was fed. Growing up in Kansas, I’ve been around cattle ranches my whole life. So maybe I’m spoiled. Anyway, the burger was okay. The bun and condiments were good. The lettuce, tomatoes and pickle looked pretty fresh. The fries were a bit soft/soggy but I was coming in probably a bit after the lunch rush and probably got fries that had been cooked earlier and just keeping warm. But they weren’t bad at all. Still good. The service was very friendly, as is all of the service I’ve experienced in Leiden. The atmosphere was nice. American hip hop music was playing, which always seems interesting in other countries. I’m not a fan of hip hop, but it definitely has a global allure for many people. Better than the American rap that was playing at a nearby clothing store. It was dropping the N-word constantly. Not something a store full of white employees would want to do in the States. Delicious burgers, real American quality, but a very unpleasant atmosphere. Eating here is really not recommended; The music was way too loud, it smelled like smoke and it was a bit of a run-down roadside restaurant. All clothes smell of grease. Ordering (home delivery), on the other hand, is great. The food is superb.

We visited for the first time, the food (hamburgers, fries, onion rings) is the best in town, excellent, delicious. We will come back again.

Overall disappointed. Quality is inconsistent especially in rushed hours. Their chicken sandwich was not crispy at all, rather mushy. Sad to day this, but KFC or MC Donald do a much better chicken burger. The delivery took twice as much as indicated on ubereats, but I'm willing to wait if I receive good food.

Dear citizens of the Netherlands!

It is really not done to charge extra money for plastic packaging per hamburger, and then ultimately simply deliver the burgers in paper packaging. If, as an owner, the excuse for this is that it contains plastic: why do you use this packaging? Then just use paper, because that's what it already looks and feels like!

We ordered 2 fries. When we got home (20-30 minute distance) the fries were not just cold but soggy. I understand that food gets cold but because of the vapor all the fries were soaked and uneatable. We just wasted 11,25 for uneatable fries and we are still hungry. The packaging or something else should be different. Once again very dissapointed and very hungry. Thank you :)
