Ferry in Rotterdam Centrum

Nice atmosphere, feels very safe. Only toilet queues are amazingly long. What would you think of an idea to have in bathroom avaible paper one use "stand and pee" thingys? 🤔 So everyone who needs to sit would also be able to use pisuars. Could make it tiny bit more smooth ;3 Would love to support if u d plan to make any donation to be able to make it or anything <3

Extremely rude door staff. It was as if they were trying to upset guests. Super weird vibe inside the venue. Everyone was on their phones, not talking to each other. Bizarre policy where coat-check is mandatory (and also costs money), but the place was totally empty. Overall, this did not feel like a safe and welcoming queer space.

VERY rude staff. When there is a long line at the cloakroom, they quickly give their friends their coats at the next door. For everyone his/her nose. Just super antisocial. When you say something about it you immediately get an attitude from here to Tokyo. They even waved a hand and said “so”. I came here 2 years ago with pleasure, but now... If you want a fun night out, DO NOT go to Ferry. Especially when you don't look like someone who belongs to the LGBTI+ community.

Some decent music, the drag show was short but fun!

Do not ever go to this place. Unfriendly staff, the boss is extremely ignorant, arrogant, and unwilling to help with any questions. Especially for the tourists, do not go here and if you do, make sure to watch your drinks and wallets …

Propietario - arrogante, alma oscura. Personal ignorante. Fui allí hace 3 semanas. Sé con certeza que fue drogado. Terminé desmayándome y sin recordar mi viaje. Algo me pasó y volví vulnerable, queriendo encontrar algunas respuestas para obtener la línea de tiempo de mi estado mental / físico, no los culpé por nada y fui muy amable. El dueño fue muy descuidado, arrogante y cínico, tratando de convencerme de que estaba muy borracho esa noche y que es imposible que estuviera drogado. Invalidando mis sentimientos, evitando preguntas. El camarero - totalmente no una chica chica. : ) vergonzoso, vergonzoso personal.

Ferry is most fun club in Rotterdam ! Good vibes and safe, even when I lost my phone I get it back in 2 days.

I think they kick out people for no reason and they do not explain themselves, only Dutch. Are they for real? This is very sad, we are very disappointed in their behaviour and hope they will treat people better in the future. Otherwise, would totally not recommend the place.

Sooo we went there and black girl with Tattoos on her face not let us in because we are not gays or whatever. We are friendly straight guys, visiting Rotterdam and was in clubs before like this. Not Friendly avoid this place

It's a shame that as a 34 year old you want to come in without having had a single alcoholic drink and then they say you are not allowed to enter because you are drunk. And then every alcoholic is allowed in. Idiots! Sad thing.

Leuke tent maar de in glazen wijn schenken zo zo’n klein beetje. Gewoon afzetterij. Na geklaagd te hebben zij de jongen dat het normaal was hier en wilde niet iets bijschenken. Drink geen wijn meer hier.

Fun place and nice cocktail menu

Last night a friend, two friends and I tried to have a nice evening at Ferry's, but what a drama! After waiting in line for half an hour, we were rudely turned away at the door. The woman at the entrance told us that she was put there specifically to turn away people who are not gay. This is not indicated anywhere on the website, so we had no idea something like this would happen. It is downright scandalous that a club that profiles itself as a place of freedom and acceptance excludes people based on their orientation. This feels like pure discrimination and even sexism. Everyone should feel welcome in an entertainment venue, regardless of who you are or how you identify. The icing on the cake was that we had to wait half an hour and then were pushed aside without any respect or explanation. Definitely not a club for everyone, even though you would think that inclusivity is central here. What a letdown! Avoid this club if you are looking for a place where you can be yourself, because Ferry's is apparently all about compartmentalization and exclusion.

Gisteravond probeerden een vriend, twee vriendinnen en ik een leuke avond te hebben bij Ferry’s, maar wat een drama! Na een half uur in de rij te hebben gestaan, werden we bij de deur op een onbeschofte manier afgewezen. De vrouw bij de ingang vertelde ons dat ze daar speciaal was neergezet om mensen af te wijzen die niet gay zijn. Dit staat nergens aangegeven op de website, dus we hadden geen idee dat zoiets zou gebeuren. Het is ronduit schandalig dat een club die zichzelf profileert als een plek van vrijheid en acceptatie, mensen uitsluit op basis van hun geaardheid. Dit voelt als pure discriminatie en zelfs seksisme. Iedereen zou zich welkom moeten voelen in een uitgaansgelegenheid, ongeacht wie je bent of hoe je je identificeert. Als kers op de taart moesten we een half uur wachten om vervolgens zonder enige respect of uitleg aan de kant te worden geschoven. Absoluut geen club voor iedereen, ondanks dat je zou denken dat juist inclusiviteit hier centraal staat. Wat een afknapper! Vermijd deze club als je een plek zoekt waar je jezelf mag zijn, want bij Ferry’s draait het blijkbaar alleen om hokjesdenken en uitsluiting.

Even though when we walked in the atmosphere was nice it was quickly ruined by the very bad acoustics and choice of music. It is mandatory to pay to give your jacket to the garderobe on Friday and Saturday which means it is mandatory to spend money for something unnecessary. Nothing special compared to the rest of the nightlife of Rotterdam. So much better places to spend your money for a good time.

We had a very bad experience. They forced us to give our jackets at the entrance. They say it is a house rule. Even though they do create their own rules you have to pay for it.

Don’t go here if you are looking for an anti-racist queer space or door policy. The owner does not care to have conversations about his privileges.

Zat er vanaf 20:00 Bedeling korte vrouw donker kort zwart waar maartje 38plus beveiliging houd der hand boven het hooft zeggen je bent hier vaker geweest eens in de zoveel tijd niet wekelijks..... ik ben zelf getint ..... maar als iemand van de beveiliging om tijd van swits langs alle tafels zijn gegaan ivm. De regels jassen dan had ik het geweten. Maar ik kom er niet te regelmatig om de regels te weten . Maar zonder fatsoen en overleg eruit gegooit. Donkere kleien vrouw..... staat er regelmatig ..... maar homaar dat je een bewijs mag maken van actie

Nice place to go out for an evening. The music is full of hits from the past to the present, which makes it very enjoyable. It can be very warm inside. You can only pay with money at the downstairs bar (upstairs only by debit card).

I hardly ever write reviews but i need to rn. Iam from Czech republic and i came to the club before all the fun really startet. Even at that time the place it’s a perfect place to just hang out w your friends and talk. I was there just the read my book and the place was looking awesome. What i really need to appreciate r the petformers. That’s why think the club really stand’s out, bcs there’re so talented. Iam not really into drag queens, i don’t think it’s a fun 4 me, but these one’s were so different and funny. I was laughting the whole time. 2 of them can actually sing very well and 1 is doing very original show, her way. The owner definitely knows how to run that place and i can’t wait to be there in next 2 months again bcs iam going there for Janet Jackson concert. - Michal Hummels

This tent is the best in Rotterdam, I have never had such a good time. The security/doorbitch are also super sweet. In short, go here!!!

I think the quality of the DJ'ing and the music has decreased a lot. Super boring, all same songs and setlists, no variety beyond mainstream pop. It'd be nice to have some reggaeton or other genres in between to make more variety and fun!

Altijd leuke plek, voor zowel een drankje, hapje eten of één van de leuke feesten. Ook altijd zeer geschikt voor een zakelijk evenement.

In line you are asked very aggressively if you are gay, if you say no you are forcibly sent away. The most uninclusive and violent club I have ever been to. Avoid it like the plague

PVV door policy: discriminatory, intolerant and inconsistent. Inexperienced security guards implement a militant door policy based on ever-changing rules. It means that Ferry is not a safe place for queer people. In contrast to the much longer established gay bars in Rotterdam, feeling welcome is hard to find here.

Crappy door policy. Initially refused because we were with a 'group'. A few hours later, three people stood in line for fifteen minutes (while there were two people in front of us and approximately 30 people left the building) only to be told that they were closing. Not recommended to anyone.

Yesterday I was mistreated by a security guard at the house. she wanted to force me to keep my coat in the cloakroom, saying I couldn't wear my coat. She had a very rude and unnecessary attitude, as I explained that I was finishing my drink and would leave the house.

Spontaneously together with my wife we ​​go to Ferry, I have never been before, my wife (super enthusiastic) before. When we get there we are sent back and have to take the other side of the crush barrier. So we neatly go to the other side and back again. So we are not actually coming in. On a damper evening, we wander off to another bar where we can enter.

Did not let us in, told our friends that they were too drunk when they were fully sober. Basically discriminating men based on appearance. Totally unacceptable, disrespectful and using power to feel better than other people, who are there to just to have fun

Bouncers were very rude to us, physically pushing. Not recommended, especially claiming that they are tolerant and restrained community!

If fairness and human dignity are within your values, Ferry is NOT the place to go. We came there with a group on our friends birthday. A woman on the entrance did not let us in, because one guy from our company was not sober according to her. It’s difficult to fact check, but as a matter of fact, we were all sober after a couple of light refreshments and absolutely conscious and safe to be let in. They started physically pushing my friend (who was also the birthday girl), while she was just asking why we are not let in, just to figure out the situation (as at that moment they did not say the reason yet). The authority issues of staff are outrageous and pretty much disgusting. Humiliating people by false accusations and physically offending clients is beyond the borders of acceptable. Will never ever step my foot in this club, which preaches tolerance, but practices discrimination and physical violence. SHAME!!!

You are not allowed to enter if you are with a group (6 people), you are not allowed to enter if you are straight, you are not allowed to enter if you are too cheerful. It seems like they can always find a reason to refuse you. We've been rejected here several times, which is a shame if you think you're going to have a nice evening out here.

Previous times the bar was so much more fun with iconic queer music. Now the music has become very general. If I wanted general club music I would have gone to another club in Rotterdam.

This was by far the worst and most disgusting nightclub experience - a place where behavior is out of control and personal freedom is disregarded. I've been to Ferry several times, mainly because of its LGBT+ friendly stance, and in the past, I would choose to have a drink there even on weekdays. However, last week, something really disgusting happened. I understand that most European nightclubs require patrons to check their personal belongings, but it's not always mandatory. As far as I know, Ferry doesn't charge for this service, which is friendly. However, last week when I went with my friend, she arrived late, almost after midnight, and my last subway was around 1 a.m. So, I had no intention of staying long at Ferry. Standing in line to check coats and bags, having a drink for less than 20 minutes, and then queuing again to retrieve my things just to catch the subway seemed pointless. A bartender on the second floor kept tapping my shoulder during the process, insisting I check my belongings, at least 4-5 times. I kept explaining to him that I didn't plan to stay long, and if I checked my stuff, I wasn't sure if I could retrieve them in time to catch the subway if people kept coming in. During this process, I noticed other white people wearing their jackets but not receiving any instructions. Around 1 a.m., they sent another black female staff member (medium build) downstairs. I went to check, and there were even more people than around 12:30, so I decided I had to leave immediately. I went upstairs to tell my friend and grab my bag. This black female staff member started to obstruct me from retrieving my personal belongings. I tried to explain, but she immediately asked me to leave. At this point, not only was I sure I wanted to leave, but I also decided I would never spend money here again. I said goodbye to my friend, grabbed my things, and quickly left to catch the subway. The lady kept shouting behind me, but I ignored her because she asked me to leave, and I followed her rules. I understand it's her workplace, but she didn't want to understand why I didn't want to check my belongings. When I was already on the street, the lady came out and forcefully grabbed my arm to prevent my "personal freedom and movement" and kept talking about her colleagues and what would happen next time. I told her directly, "Please mind your attitude and actions. I'm not in your establishment anymore, and you don't have the right to restrict my personal freedom on a public street, and there won't be a next time." Instead of apologizing, she called me stupid. Throughout this process, I didn't use any foul language or behave maliciously towards her; I just wanted to leave and not listen to her. Since I explained from the beginning and you chose not to listen, why should I listen to what you have to say, right? Eventually, I retorted, calling her stupid too. On my way home, I felt that such behavior in a country where personal freedom is protected by law is extremely frightening. If she wants, she can control your personal freedom or even verbally abuse you, and next time, if you don't obediently listen to her, there might be further restrictions on your personal freedom or even physical attacks. I'm writing about my disgusting experience here, and I'll never retract this review. By the way, since you're so keen on "rules," I think it's important to check every person entering the nightclub for legal age and identification :)

We had a lot of fun at the drag show! Didn't expect it to be busy on Monday evening. I had never been to a drag show before, I felt very welcome

On 31/12/2023 I decided to go to the New Year's Eve party that we had paid 20 euros each for in advance but, surprisingly, we left the bar to get cigarettes that I had left in my car and the two security gards at the door refused to let us in because, apparently, there was a rule on the ticket that didn't allow us to re-enter the bar after we had left. I checked the e-mail several times and the ticket and there was no information about this at all. Besides, we weren't drunk or anything. They simply refused us to enter the bar again and, unfortunately, we paid 20 euros each for NOTHING. I feel like it was a scam. I'm very disappointed with this situation, as I am/was a regular customer.

Nice club in Rotterdam. We were there on a Thursday evening and there was a karaoke competition. The place was quite full. The crowd was mixed. Admission was free and the drink prices were reasonable for a club. The doorman is indeed not the friendliest, but he is also not paid to be nice. 😄

Get here before 12 midnight - to avoid the lines. The crowd is younger (after 11pm) mostly 20s. People are friendly and it’s a good vibe.

Great friendly gay venue in Rotterdam. We were made very welcome as non-regulars. Visited here a couple of times with friends on a short stay to the city. The venue is a great space, very well designed for various events with a lovely tall ceiling and tasteful decor. The staff are all very attentive and we all had lovely burgers for dinner one night. Good range of drinks with speedy service. Saw the drag acts on a Monday night. Didn’t expect a venue to be full on the first weeknight of the week but it was!

Really cool interior but the people they let in after dining hours for clubbing times, are sometimes kind of weird. (Only some of course!) As in they will harass the girls that are just trying to have a good time, and security won't do anything about it. Music changes per DJ so sometimes nice, sometimes bleh! Also a friend was treated horribly here when the wardrobe personnel lost her coat. The staff then proceeded to blame it on my friend and call the police. Even the police agreed it was weird and asked why the staff reacted this way, why they were treating my friend (who was constantly cooperating) in a ridiculously antagonistic manner. Coat was found in said wardrobe on the floor afterwards, so staff was at fault.

Mooie hippe queer club. Overdag een café/winkel, 's avonds tovert Ferry zichzelf om in een club. Aanwinst voor Rotterdam! Sinds 2019 bezorgt Ferry ook z'n goddelijke burgers. Wow, ik snap niet hoe het kan maar geniet er wel van: voortreffelijke burgers, goeie patat, en goed warm thuisbezorgd. Aanrader!

Top cafe voor een spetterend avondje uit! Het is een regenboog cafe waar iedereen welkom is en je je ook welkom VOELT! Elke vrijdag en zaterdagavond wordt rond 22.00 de tent omgebouwd naar danscafe compleet met DJ en licht met een FANTASTISCHE sfeer waar iedereen kan zijn wie hij of zij is. In Rotterdam een van de leukste, zo niet de leukste plek om ongedwongen een avondje te feesten! En ja, de muziek is aan de harde kant maar voor 1 of 2 euro kun je bij de garderobe oordopjes kopen als je die niet zelf al bij had. Mijn review van 3 jaar eerder over het restaurant : Prima restaurant met vriendelijke bediening. We kwamen hier via een social deal terecht en hebben een prma hamburger op. De portie is aan de kleine kant, er worden met name weinig friet bij geserveerd, maar de kwaliteit is prima van zowel de hamburger als de friet. De bediening was vriendelijk en vlot dus niets over te klagen. De ruimte zelf is wat hol en kan daardoor lawaaierig klinken maar niet meer als ergens anders. Het sinaasappel ijsje is een aanrader :-)

Ze komen ook graag bij jullie, alleen verteld hij mij vrij vaak dat er jongens ( mannen) hem steeds lastig vallen en hem willen zoenen en dickpiks willen sturen. Toen ik vroeger uit ging stond er altijd iemand bij het toilet om alles een beetje netjes te houden. Ik zou het heel jammer vinden als ze om deze reden niet meet zouden willen komen, aangezien het toch al moeilijk is om wat leuks te vinden. Ik hoop dat u begrijp dat ik hun naam er niet bij zet. Ik hoop dat jullie hier ook iets aan kunnen doen. Mvg

I'm 100% sure this is the best club in the Netherlands. Really nice space, nice pop music on Fridays (even though the playlist is pretty much the same always) and free entrance. Definitely my favorite club in the Netherlands.

Ferry is a bar where you can be you, where you are safe to love who you love. Have some drinks and burgers or just hang out with your friends. Ferry is a friend to you when you need a friend who doesn't complain you drink too much. Ferry is just Ferry Good! ♥️

The best place in Rotterdam. I was there yesterday (Thursday), which was a Karaoke night, and omg it was amazing. Planning to go tonight too. The bartenders were so nice and helpful, especially there was a bartender I don’t know her name but she was amazing. And the drag queen named Amiri The Villain, she was amazing and very nice, everyone loved her, 5 stars for her ❤️. I had a blast, and it was my first time there since I’m on vacation in Rotterdam

The most happening gay bar in the city! Around 9pm, staff starts turning the restaurant into a proper dance floor. There’s a steady flow of young patrons it was nice seeing them enjoying their night while reminiscing our younger days haha.

Op zaterdagavond uitgegaan. Op zich een gezellige sfeer en leuke muziek, maar ook heel druk en erg harde muziek. Het doet op sommige momenten echt pijn aan je oren.

¡La mejor fiesta de cumpleaños! Celebrado con alrededor de 90 amigos, comenzó con una cena a pie para 50 personas, pasteles salados, luego una sopa de tomate recién hecha, luego vino el plato principal de mini hamburguesas de carne de res, pollo y vegetales, seguido de porciones individuales de papas fritas y verduras tempura. ¡Todo estaba delicioso y abundante! Se hizo espacio para la presentación del pastel junto con la llegada de los siguientes 40 invitados. El DJ Ruud (recomendado por Ferry) comenzó la música y aumentó el ambiente, las bebidas seguían fluyendo y los aperitivos holandeses se llevaban constantemente, ¡manteniendo a todos llenos! ¡El ambiente estaba en modo fiesta! ¡Felicitaciones a todo el personal por atender tan personalmente a las diferentes necesidades de los huéspedes durante toda la noche! ¡El mejor lugar de fiesta en Rotterdam!
