Don’t be fooled by the outside, the food is the worst I had during my entire trip. The fish was 90% batter and dry and the chips soggy. What made everything ten times worse is how disgustingly rude the staff are! Avoid this place like the plague even if you are about to pass out from hunger.

Disgusting, the owner is rude, we came in and he kicked us out and shouted that they were closed, although they themselves were sitting and eating 🤷‍♂️ horror!

The kibbeling was bland and the food was terrible. The kibbeling smelled strange and tasted awful. You didn't even get a napkin.

The kibbeling was rancid. It smelled and tasted disgusting. The grease also looked like it hadn't been replaced in six years (including the dirty edges along the fryer). If you're looking for food poisoning, this is the place to be.

The previous reviews were correct, unfortunately, I didn't read them beforehand. I got kibbeling here. It wasn't crispy, was very greasy, and smelled faintly of ammonia (indicating spoilage). I threw the whole container of kibbeling in the trash. We'll never come back here again.

If you want authentic food without any frills, this is the place for you. The price/performance ratio is excellent, and the portions were also generous. We had fish and chips, kibbeling, and mackerel rolls. The owner and his staff were very nice. We'll be back!

Had fish, fries, and salad. Very good. No complaints. Just don't ask where the restroom is. The rude answer was: "If we don't have one, we have to clean it every time." Just go and look elsewhere. So, short answer, and remember, I'm a customer! That's not how you treat people who eat at your place.

If you have been coming to the beach for several years, lunch cannot be missed. Always freshly prepared kibbeling and fries, generous portions, eat it while sitting on the bench in the sun.

Dirty, gross, old kibbeling looked like leftovers and dirty, gross, old grease. The fryer didn't look clean either, you can see the black burnt layer on the walls and on the scoops they use. They are very customer unfriendly towards people and act as if you are stealing the entire place from them. If you want to get sick, you should definitely eat here

Worst place on the planet. Don’t even try

Large portions of food for not too much money. The food tastes good. You have to have a lot of patience because on sunny days it can be very busy and you may have to wait at least half an hour before it is your turn.

Do you also love enjoying a portion of kibbeling after a lovely walk on the beach that looks even less tasty than the poop of the local seagulls? And does it give you that warm feeling when, out of nowhere, you get your face sucked off by the restaurant owner? Then this is the place to be!! ;) Enjoy your meal!!

Although this has all the reasons for a bad experience, we still keep coming back. The food is mediocre and there are really better places than this, but it is still tasty at such a level that it cannot be missed on a day at the beach.

Ended up at this place today after a walk on the beach. Ordered fried mussels and 1 herring sandwich with onions, took a seat in the restaurant. After a short wait we were able to eat. However...I have NEVER eaten such a bad herring; would certainly have scored no or at least very few points in the AD Test (if it still exists...): Dry, no typical herring flavor and fat, onions not fresh, bread soggy, dry and too big for the large of the herring - worthless! After trying once, sandwich was returned. The employee looked at me in surprise - no apology, no recognition of my complaint or criticism. The owner was also unable to reason after I expressed my dissatisfaction to him about what I considered to be poor quality and the state of affairs. Received the answer that 'it was my own problem and taste if the herring did not taste good'. No apology from him either...in fact: after a not so friendly altercation he came towards me in a threatening and intimidating manner and I had to leave his business. My friend was allowed to stay inside to eat her mussels. I have never had such an unfriendly catering experience - in 56 years! And also with years of experience in the catering industry. Owner cannot handle criticism and does not respect the opinions of customers. Maybe choose a different profession? A reason for me to NEVER go here again! Fortunately, there are better things in the area! .

What a customer-unfriendly gentleman, probably the owner. Herring sandwich...first look for herring on the sandwich. In addition, the owner neatly indicated that the herring did not taste good (very dry, no herring fat and taste). Sandwich returned. I had mussels and when I got home my stomach hurt. Normally I don't write bad reviews on the Internet, but what I experienced here last weekend is really unacceptable. After waiting in line for 20 minutes, I was allowed to leave again with my family. I had to hurry up with placing an order and if I didn't like it I had to go to the neighbors, and we came here more often to eat fish. I thought what am I doing with this again? Customer friendliness is hard to find Never again for us... I really hope they can close their place for someone else.

Kibbeling is excellent, herring less so.

I stood in line to get kibbeling and found out I was the last customer before closing time. The employee who wanted to close the line put on an apron. Suddenly, out of nowhere, he started making racist comments about hypothetical people of Moroccan descent, in private, as if it were the most normal thing in the world, and suggesting that they would attack him (he fled from Vlaardingen to Hoek van Holland , poor guy). There are better fish shops if I read it that way.

The baked shrimp are so deliciously fresh, an insider tip. The fries made from fresh potatoes are on point. And we liked the kibbeling too. Can't understand the previous bad rating of the fish snack here.

Kibbeling was lukewarm and not very seasoned Shrimp croquette sandwich was not worth a star, certainly not a Holtkamp croquette no shrimp present the owner is quite nice but the ladies are allowed to go on a course customer friendliness

The oil hasn't changed for at least a week. NEVER AGAIN FOR ME! There are plenty of things to do better and not come across as hasty. Threatening to put data online ladies and gentlemen, you see it with your own eyes. This clumsy business is run by a bunch of idiots and it shows. I can also post a review a week or 2 later after a customer visits it idiot. Suppose your brain is still in your brain instead of in your head.

Zero Customer services. Avoid at all cost. Such a beautiful beach & they spoiled it.

I would like to share my experience about the delicious kibbeling that I ate. The kibbeling was truly delicious! The fish was cooked perfectly, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The spices and batter were just right and gave the kibbeling a delicious flavor. The portion was also generous and the kibbeling was fresh and of high quality, which made the meal extra special. I enjoyed every bite and it was certainly a tasty treat. All in all it was a great experience and I can't wait to go back to enjoy this delicious kibbeling even more. An absolute must for fish lovers!

What a crappy establishment. Food was really rancid and hygiene was poor. Owner often picks his nose while preparing your meal. I read here that it seems to happen more often. Quite friendly stuff to non-Dutch speakers, asking additional questions on the order and clarifying details. Visited the place by the end of the day, frying oil wasn’t fresh - it gave burnt aftertaste to Fries and Chips. Probably the best tip here would be to check pre-cooked food and fries and if are too dark, better not to take if you are sensitive to it. Herring sandwich was good even there been some bones in fish. Fresh, simple, delicious.

Over de patat was zo ongeveer de zoutpot uitgekieperd. En heel verrassend; bovenop prima uitziende patat, maar daaronder allemaal brokjes, iets wat wiij afval patat noemen. De restanten van de vorige bestelling. Erg jammer, want tegenwoordig zijn ook de aardappels niet goedkoop. Geen volgende keer meer.

Wir haben einen Tagesausflug an das Pier "Hoek van Holland" gemacht. Am Ende unseres Strandbesuchs hatten wir dann doch etwas Appetit. Wir hielten dann bei Fish@thebeach um eine Kleinigkeit zu Essen. Es gab einmal Pommes und dreimal frittierten Fisch mit einer Sauce nach Wahl. Wir konnten auf Deutsch bestellen. Die Unterhaltung war mit einem kleinen Spaß verbunden. Es gibt die Möglichkeit innen oder außen zu speisen. Kurz um es hat jedem Geschmeckt.

Met onze kennissen heerlijke kibbeling op. De patat is ook een aanrader. Geen standaard friet.
