Everything was good here. The fries were delicious and the kibbelinge were good! Good service! Nothing to complain about☺️

I absolutely do not recommend this fish shop. The staff is unfriendly and unprofessional. When I walked in, I was barely helped and felt unwelcome. I also noticed that they were rude and disrespectful to customers of foreign descent.

Unfortunately, the market had just ended, so my heavily pregnant wife and I decided to have some fish here. A large plate outside with portions of kibbeling (cod), squid rings, etc., was available for €9, with the menu options (including fries and salad) starting at €16. We decided to sit inside, but the atmosphere was immediately grim upon entering. The waitress returned with the wrong portion. The owner, who was also the chef, found this ridiculous and spoke loudly about the 'ridiculous' guests who were probably mistaken. Anyway, while another guest was paying, the owner asked if we knew what we wanted. Sure enough, two portions of kibbeling. "Yeah, we're out of those. They're only available until 5:00 PM." It was 5:30 PM, and he didn't really get it. So we ordered one kibbeling menu to share (I wasn't very hungry). I tried anyway, asking if we could have some extra kibbeling. It's not about the money, but we weren't necessarily craving a full menu. "Well, everyone always has to have something special," was the answer. Meanwhile, I used the restroom and glanced at the open kitchen. I shouldn't have. How he even got his HACCP certificate is a mystery to me. Hygiene was certainly nonexistent that day (food buckets literally on the floor, products that should be actively refrigerated weren't in the refrigerator, and the restroom doors were open opposite the open kitchen). I also wonder if the place had ever been mopped. After less than five minutes, he brought the kibbeling menu with the extra portions of kibbeling. I secretly laughed a little to myself. So I got my single portion of kibbeling after all. The laughter quickly faded, because it tasted absolutely awful. Very bland, and after seeing the kitchen, I quickly finished eating. For €16, I would have expected a bit more kibbeling. After less than 10 minutes, and with half of the food still uneaten, we quickly left. Now we just have to pray we don't get sick.

Racist owner and waitress. Absolutely horrible experience. Never visit this place unless you want to spoil your mood . Me and my mom went there. We needed to use a toilet so I asked the waitress if there is a toilet inside and she replied that yes but only if we are customers which was totally normal. We were hungry so we decided to come back and order fish and chips at the restaurant. Later when I went inside I saw that they have a board where it was written “1 euro for toilet for non-customers” I was a bit confused that why did the waitress lie to us that toilets are only for customers. But what happened next was even worse. We received one set of fork and knife for two of us. When I went inside to ask for a second set, the owner asked 1 euro from me just to use cutleries. I couldn’t believe what he was saying and I asked him back if what I am hearing was correct . He and the waitress was like no problem you can take the cutleries. I have been living in the Netherlands for 6 years and never have I received such horrible racist treatment.

You don't get a receipt if you pay in cash! Unfriendly man and woman, both rude. Deserved a cold shower!

Owner is simply rude and arrogant. Please do not go here as the guy deserves to fail

I had kibbeling with fries and salad. I've eaten a lot of kibbeling but then I knew I was eating fish. Not here. Too expensive for what you get and absolutely no taste. Better to get kibbeling at a market.

The food was quite good, but the service was rather so-so.

Dirty food moldy the fish is really old which made me seriously ill! They are also very disrespectful to foreigners who walk by or sit there. They should be happy that there are people coming to eat at all because the fries were incredibly greasy!

Absolutely unacceptable. Not only was the food disgraceful; served cold, undercooked, and completely lacking in flavor but the owner’s behavior was even worse. His racist and disrespectful attitude was appalling. I can’t help but wonder if he only feels emboldened to treat young women this way, or if he’d dare to speak like that to a group of men. Either way, his conduct was cowardly and disgusting. No one should be subjected to such dehumanizing treatment. This place should be avoided at all costs.

Very rude staff. Asked us to sit down. We asked for a drink menu and we're swiftly and rudely told "No". Picture of the man below- He needs to learn some manners. The restaurant was empty, which doesn't surprise me.

Food/kibbeling was just OK, The owner was extremely rude/nasty. No one should go there to be subject to such horrendous treatment from a restaurant.

First time in Delft. We randomly chose this restaurant, me and my wife didn't want to eat to much so we first order one dish, and a guy who I guess was the owner reacted very un polite, and rude, told us, one order was not enough, that we must order at least 2 dishes and if we don't , we can go other place...... It's a shame people like that, with their behaviour ruin the experience of being in such a beautiful place. And at the end when I asked for the bill, he asked for cash, that the machine was damage and cannot accept cc payments...... Food was very tasty but the service ruined the whole experience. I won't recommend anyone to visit this restaurant

Super fast and delicious. And cheap!

We asked for lekkebekje but due to a misunderstanding (language) we were served ordinary fish and chips from the menu. Food was nice and service fine. A busy restaurant. We ate outside overlooking the market square, a pleasant end to our holiday.

At first we thought we would enjoy something simple to eat at the market. Speak no or limited Dutch. Me, my boyfriend and my daughter already got our food. But not my bonus daughter, she just wanted fries. In between we saw all kinds of other dishes being served, which of course also include fries... we came there to have a nice meal with the 4 of us and not 3 did and 1 didn't yet. Had to ask 3 times where it was, it would always come like this. She ate with us because otherwise it would be very sad. But food wasn't tasty but her fries were even worse. And we asked for mayonnaise, it had very strange specks in it and didn't taste like mayonnaise either. So we didn't eat everything and people looked strange and angry that we had left so much left. So never go here. 4 stars for the atmosphere and not because of you, but because the market is simply pleasant. But better find something else to eat where you get good food for a better price where you are treated well and not like some other dog.

We found out this restaurant while walking randomly in the city of Delft. So we were not influenced by comments, positive or negative. The restaurant has just 5 tables inside but many tables in the outside terrace in a beautiful city surrounding. The staff was nice and helpful. The menu may look "small" but this is local food, and extremely tasty. We were also served two big glasses of beers which fit perfectly with the food. The price is low, especially compared to other restaurants with similar geographic situations. In brief : we're really happy, and we'll be back! 😁😁😁❤️

Awful. Really awful. You don't re-fry fish and chips! Obviously leftovers from the day before. Heard that the owner's attitude is that his customers are tourists, so they'll only ever be there once, so he doesn't care...

Words can't describe how bad it is

This fish and chips restaurant was horrendous. I firmly believe that no one looking around in Delft should EVER come to this restaurant whether you are a tourist or not. Starting with the food and drinks, the overall performance was horrible. One of my relatives who ate at the restaurant asked for a simple diet coke, and when the owner gave it to our table, it was completely flat and tasted horrible. We soon realized that this was because the waiter didn't even open up a can of coke, but instead gave the coke from an old bottle. This is completely unacceptable as we paid hard-earned money to get absolute crap. Moving to the food, the price was horrible. There was barely any fish in the fish and chips, nor fries. The owner insisted that their food was the best in town, but as my family and I walked around the town, we saw dozens of other places with way better food at a better price. Additionally, their food wasn’t anything exotic or hard to find, and my dead grandpa could do a better job frying the calamari. Finally, the customer service was downright horrendous. My family tried to make small talk with the owners about the football game that was going on, and when we did, even after eating the horrible food, they insisted that their OWN country’s team should lose because their business would “increase”. I mean just look at this restaurant. They want business by any means WITHOUT putting the effort into making any good food. The other conversation that we had with them were not different either. They said to never live in America for no reason, and complained about literally every aspect of the USA also. I could have found hundreds of other good restaurants with better customer service than them. Moral of this story is, NEVER EAT HERE.

Ordered food and drinks, nothing special just water, sparkling and still. The water arrived before the food. The glass bottle had rust on the beginning of the bottle and the sparkling water had a weird black particle floating inside the glass. The utensils were unclean. I did not want to make fuss about it but it did made me uncomfortable. My fiance however tried to reason with them and to cancel the order because if the water is in this condition, one can only guess the quality of the food. In any event we couldn't cancel so it ruined our day and we still paid 30+ euros for the grand honor of not eating and not even drinking water. The staff is unfriendly.

I went with my fiance to this place, at first everything seemed nice. We asked for some fish and chips and a schnitzel, and 2 waters, one still and the other one sparkling. The still water came in a bottle that was rusty and the sparkling one came already in a glass. Apparently this glass had something black in it and it was dirty. I went inside to talk about this and the owner reacted very unfriendly and told me i can not cancel the order and he went out with the plates and threw them on the table my fiance was sitting, more than that they did not change the glass of water and related to the bottle they wiped it with a napking telling me that the water is fine. We had to pay cause they obliged us, we did not eat or drink anything from there and we are sure that we will never go there again. The portions are really small and they look like the food was frozen, also the fish had something green on it....not a very good idea if you wanna spend more than 30 euros for some frozen fried food

We visited Delft for the first time and stumbled into this restaurant by chance. My mother enjoyed the kibbeling(quality was very good!) and I had some beer at the beautiful market place. The two owners (husband and wife I believe) were super friendly, very fast and we had a good talk. Please don’t be fooled by the bad reviews, we enjoyed the place very much!

We decided to eat at this restaurant with 8 people and we loved it. The waiter and also the cook was very friendly and brought the dishes right away. The food was delicious!! I recommend it.

Good food, good service and great location

Very well eaten! Kibbeling with fries were very tasty. Also a vanilla ice cream for dessert. The owner was very friendly. It's a snack bar, not a restaurant. Small menu and the atmosphere is rather simple but clean and friendly. Gladly again.

The food (Kibbeling with fries) tasted good, but the portions were rather small. A few isolated fries had “lost their way” onto the plate. The service was okay, as was the location. Right on the market square and at the Nieuwe Kerk. But we would no longer visit this restaurant and eat our kibbelings somewhere else.

Very rude owner!!! We politely asked how big a dish was and then said that maybe a dish That would be sufficient and that we could possibly order a second one later. He says in a very unpleasant way that he doesn't stay busy, hospitality and customer friendliness are hard to find! I will definitely come back again, but this time for something different ;)

Asked for napkins, owner said to go inside. I went inside and he threw a box if tissues to/at me. I asked for an actual napkin and he said for conversation costs double “Americans always want to talk about nothing.” He was alone at the dinner rush, and I need to take Euro cuteness into account. So I felt he was rude, but I’m pretty sure he didn’t. I will give the benefit of the doubt. Middle of the road food at city center prices.

Wspaniała świeża ryba, tańsza niż nad polskim morzem ;) Super klimatyczne miejsce w Delft.

Eher ein Imbiss als ein Restaurant. Ca. 10 Gerichte, die in der offenen Küche zubereitet werden. Vermutlich Tiefkühlware, die aber sehr gut ist, schnell serviert wird und lecker schmeckt. Die Preise sehr günstig. Der Betreiber ist freundlich, hat ein Schwätzchen über und kommt freundlich rüber. Wer also schnell und günstig essen möchte, wird hier gut bedient.

Wir waren dort und habe Fish and Chips und nen Bier getrunken. Der Gastgeber war sehr nett. Das Essen war schnell fertig und hat ganz gut geschmeckt. Die Fisch and Chips wurden noch mit einer Remolade serviert und einem kleinen Salat. Es gab insgesamt ca. 10 verschiedene Speisen auf der Karte. Wer mal Bock auf was schnelles hat, kann hier gut was schnapolieren 😁

Le hasard a bien fait les choses, Arrivée à 11 personnes, l’accueil était agréable, ce monsieur nous a trouvé la place pour déguster un bon plat. Je me suis régalé avec le fish &chips, et mes voisins de table se sont tout autant régalé 🥰🥰🥰

Lekker eten en een vriendelijke gastheer. De plates met kibbeling was erg lekker. Aanbevolen!

Een aanrader op de markt! Het lekkerbekje is sappig en krokant (de frietjes natuurlijk ook) en de salade wordt verrijkt met o.a. perzik en nootjes! De vis wordt in de open keuken ter plekke klaargemaakt en dat vergt het nodige van de eigenaar en kok. En toch ziet hij kans af en toe n vrolijk babbeltje te maken met zijn klandizie. Goed en gezellig tentje dus !
