Fort H in Muiden

Delicious food. Started around half past seven and went home at half past twelve. Service wasn't great at first, probably due to a new member of staff, but it was noticed quite quickly by the senior staff and then everything went smoothly. Nice atmosphere. Delicious dishes. Delicious wines. The staff is hospitable, friendly, cheerful and knows what they are talking about,

Beautiful place, atmospheric. Food was fine, but service could be better. Our bowl of sweet potato fries was cleared even though it was not yet empty. It was so chic to ask us if we still wanted to eat this. The staff does not exude genuine cordiality and did not give us a hospitable feeling. Shame

Het interieur is prachtig en geeft een goede sfeer, echter de kwaliteit van het eten is niet om naar huis te schrijven. Wij vroegen om een bepaald gerecht om geen zout toe te voegen, echter het was door het zout haast niet te eten. Ook voor de rest van de maaltijden gold dat het naar onze mening met weinig passie was gemaakt.

Taken a veggie burger. Frozen burger, the fries are also standard appie fries, easy to make your own fries. I am very disappointed given the appearance of the restaurant and is therefore not worth a second visit.

Mooie zaak maar van een 'mooi bord kun je niet eten'. 3 st Jakobs kussentjes voor 19 euro en 1 ervan kwam in stukken ontploft aan en de 2 anderen te lang gebakken waardoor ze rubber waren. De 'spare ribs' waren eveneens in dezelfde prijsklasse en lauw. Over de Peking Eend qua kwaliteit weinig te melden. Omdat er nergens een behoorlijke steak op de kaart staat besloten 2 van ons de Chateaubriand te bestellen. 68 euro en compleet doorbakken geserveerd, terwijl er om een medium/ well done gevraagd was. Dit was well done 'Plus'. Een tijd lang de serveerster telepatisch te bereiken maar niet gelukt. Het was zo druk dat ze aan de andere kant van de zaak verdwenen leek. Over het algemeen is alles waanzinnig duur voor wat je krijgt maar als kookkunst tot gepruts verword dan moet je je ernstig afvragen als restaurant wat er fout. gaat. Over de bediening weinig nieuws behalve dat ze mega druk zijn en het lijkt of dat er te weinig handjes zijn te midden van een slechte akoestiek. Over de keuken en de kaart niks goeds te melden: kwaliteit bedroevend en een fantasieloze kaart. Omwille van de gunstige lokatie nu 3 keer een poging gedaan maar dit was wel de laatste. Wat een beschamende keuken vertoning....

Came here for drinks on Sunday afternoon. The place was quite empty and yet we were put in an uncomfortable corner. We asked if we could sit somewhere else, this was only allowed if we could free the table within 45 minutes, so we didn't. 45 minutes later the place (and the table where we wanted to sit) was still empty. Drinks were ok.

First experience in 2023, went back in 2024 and it is still an excellent restaurant. The service is impeccable, the food is very tasty and the prices are according to the quality. Would highly recommend to anyone!

The lady serving didn't feel like it. I grabbed the menu myself after waiting 15 minutes. Then the plate was almost thrown on the table with a sigh. Also quite expensive for the quality.

In oktober hier geluncht. Mooi en sfeervol restaurant in een oude vesting direct aan de haven. Ze hebben een ruim en mooi zonnig terras. Aankleding is sfeervol, chique maar warm. Bediening zeer attent en zoals je verwacht. Op de kaart een ruime keuze aan kleinere gerechten. De bedoeling is dat je een aantal losse gerechten besteld om uiteindelijk tot een complete maaltijd te komen. Ik heb zeer lekker gegeten en kom hier zeker nog eens terug.

Had lunch here in October. Beautiful and atmospheric restaurant in an old fortress right on the harbour. They have a spacious and beautiful sunny terrace. The decoration is attractive, chic but warm. Service very attentive and as you would expect. A wide choice of smaller dishes on the menu. The idea is that you order a number of individual dishes to ultimately create a complete meal. I had a very tasty meal and will definitely come back here again.

We waren een middag op stap geweest met vrienden. We troffen gastvrij personeel aan. In een gezellige setting. Het eten was heerlijk. De prijs netjes. Een echte aanrader!

Nice restaurant in good location. Tables were very cramped and close together. We both had burgers for dinner and it was meh. Simple burger on a crispy bun. No other toppings on the burger other than one lettuce leaf. Also no garnishes. So you actually got quite little for a quite expensive price of €21. Fries were tasty.

Always good at Fort H, nice large terrace. With large parasols that provide shade and cooling. Great card for small but also large appetites. Lunch drinks and dinner something for everyone. After a walk with a friend, we decided to have dinner at this restaurant. The place looks good. Large terrace and beautiful hall. The waiter greeted us arrogantly, puffing out his cheeks and offered to sit on the terrace. The second waiter, a girl, kindly but ineptly took the order. The third waiter brought food. The entrecote was warm, it might even have been good if it had been brought when it was ready. The potatoes looked like they came from Mac Donald, they forgot the mayonnaise, and instead of stewed vegetables they got an inexpressive salad. The scallops were good. French chardonnay saved dinner. Tea in a bag, good coffee. Order price 60 euros.

Restaurant Fort H in Muiden is een culinaire parel die absoluut een bezoek waard is. Gelegen in een historische omgeving, biedt dit restaurant niet alleen een prachtige ambiance, maar ook een menu dat de zintuigen prikkelt. Onze recente ervaring daar was niets minder dan uitstekend. Een van de meest opvallende aspecten van mijn bezoek aan Fort H was de selectie van kleine (lunch) gerechten. Elk gerecht was met zorg en aandacht bereid, wat resulteerde in een explosie van smaken bij elke hap. De chef-kok heeft duidelijk oog voor detail; de presentatie van de gerechten was niet alleen aantrekkelijk, maar ook creatief. Dit maakte onze lunch tot een waar feest voor het oog en de smaakpapillen. Van delicate voorgerechten tot verrassende combinaties, elk gerecht vertelde zijn eigen verhaal en droeg bij aan een onvergetelijke eetervaring. Wat echt opviel tijdens ons bezoek was het oog voor detail dat in elk aspect van het restaurant aanwezig was. Van de inrichting tot de presentatie van de gerechten, alles leek met veel zorg te zijn samengesteld. Het personeel was goed geïnformeerd over het menu en kon deskundig advies geven, iets wat bijdroeg aan de algehele ervaring. Het is duidelijk dat hier passie en toewijding achter schuilgaat. Het personeel bij Fort H verdient speciale vermelding. Hun vriendelijkheid en professionaliteit maakten de lunch nog aangenamer. Ze waren attent zonder opdringerig te zijn, en hun enthousiasme voor het eten en drinken droeg bij aan de positieve sfeer in het restaurant. Het lijkt erop dat ze echt om hun gasten geven en ervoor zorgen dat iedereen zich welkom voelt. Conclusie Al met al kunnen wij Restaurant Fort H in Muiden ten zeerste aanbevelen aan iedereen die op zoek is naar een unieke culinaire ervaring. De combinatie van uitstekende kleine gerechten, oog voor detail en vriendelijk personeel maakt dit restaurant tot een must-visit bestemming. Dus…. wij komen zeker nog eens terug!

The food is always great, the service always friendly. One disadvantage for us, you are recently no longer allowed to smoke on the terrace, so we will not be eating here again anytime soon when the weather is nice.

Fort H was om meerdere reden bijzonder. Het is een mooie locatie, zeker als het mooi weer is het fijn zitten op het terras. De gastvrijheid is opvallend, dat maak je niet heel veel mee. De gastheer had echt belangstelling voor zijn gasten en was attent. Een voorbeeld is een fles water die eigenlijk te veel was. Hij vroeg of wij die nog wilden hebben en haalde de fles daarna weg. Het eten zag er mooi verzorgd uit en het smaakte ook goed. De kaart was uitgebreid. Met de ervaring die wij hadden, raad ik Fort H een iedereen aan.

An unexpected surprise. Excellent and fast service. The food is good, however, some of the portions were a bit small for us. The area is delightful and the weather was great to stay in the terrace. We spend an average of €25p.p.

We came here by chance to have lunch - albeit from the dinner menu. A very nice, somewhat chic place. The tables are all neatly set. It is clean and tidy. The menu was clearly explained: these are smaller dishes, so two of the vegetarian/cold/warm dishes are recommended. My friend ordered the veal steak (good as a main course) and it was delicious, a perfect piece of meat. I ordered the burrata + steak tartare. Burrata very tasty, fresh and flavorful. The steak tartare is pre-conditioned and in my opinion with too many capers. The two dishes were indeed just enough for me and were beautifully presented on beautiful plates. We ordered fries (which were perfectly crispy) and a salad was apparently served with it as standard. Very nice wine (rosé) and good hosts. Service is neat, but pays more attention to regular guests. You are not allowed to smoke on the terrace. The restaurant also looks very nice on the inside. It is a bit pricey, but considering the quality, they can ask that. Parking is free in the area, a large parking lot, but full.

The Salade Riche was Pauvre. Lots of lettuce, the 2 scallops cut in half so that they looked like 4, hardly any seafood and the upright crispy waffles look nice, but add nothing. After our comments we were given coffee on the house. Very nice.

A great restaurant. The rooms perfectly combine old and new. The tables are set invitingly and the professionals in the open kitchen prepare the food almost silently. The service is very attentive and advice is given in good English. The dishes are prepared to perfection, extremely tasty and well put together. There is an equal vegetarian option. I can only agree that these are some of the best sweet potato fries you can eat. My lamb with eggplant and garlic was simply amazing. If you fancy a successful evening, preferably in chic clothes, you should book a table straight away.

Nice ambiance, but if you only come for a drink and small snacks at 4 p.m. you won't get a nice spot but you can sit on the 'hanging bench'. Tables have already been set and they don't seem to want to set them again, it seems.

My wife and I shared a long, mid-afternoon into evening meal here. The food and flavor was all very carefully constructed and delicious. We had a great time. The space is really cool - a mix of a historic fort and modern design. Would definitely recommend a visit!

Every week I eat out somewhere. I look for restaurants with reasonable prices, surprising dishes and good quality. After many weeks of more or less disappointing visits, I was pleasantly surprised last night when I visited Fort H. The atmosphere and appearance are neat and tidy upon arrival and a bit formal but not overly so: appropriate and pleasantly formal, I would say. The service was fast and attentive and the dishes arrived quickly. We chose to have everything served at the same time. And we opted for the smaller dishes. The main courses arrived quickly. Without exception, the dishes were well prepared, beautifully presented and tasty. There was attention to details. Even after serving, the staff continues to pay close attention to our needs: neat. The desserts were also without exception beautiful, tasty and well presented. It was noticeable that the desserts took a little longer to arrive. All in all, highly recommended for a delicious meal in a beautiful location!

The place is beautiful and cozy, but the high tables are uncomfortable and too small to eat. We tried the fish and was delicious, but the rest (ribs, truffle pasta) was not worth the price we paid for it. The truffle pasta was white pasta with oil and rocket, truffle nowhere to be found or tasted, quite disappointing considering the prices. Maybe this was only my experience and a one time thing but i would not come back.

Very good atmosphere! Interesting fusion of modern and old architecture and exquisite interior design including comfortable chairs. Also pleasant ambience music and even the bathroom has a special sound design.

Veel en veel te druk. Personeel kon het ook niet aan. Gewoon overboekt ! Moesten zelf vragen om het menu na 40 minuten (!) en later om het eten. Terras heeft enorme parasollen waaronder al het geluid blijft hangen. Hierdoor is een normaal gesprek slecht mogelijk. Het eten zelf is goed. Locatie is leuk maar op dit soort dagen waarbij het zo druk is zou ik liever ergens anders heen gaan. Was om een x jarige relatie te vieren maar …. geen aanrader

The food is fantastic! The service leaves something to be desired, it started very well, with a drink on the terrace where she also tried to tempt us for an oyster and/or a plank of pata negra. But after we took a seat inside, we were hardly looked after after ordering the food. We had difficulty ordering 2 drinks (not two rounds, but 2 separate drinks). The food came quickly and the table was quickly cleared. A dessert menu and a coffee afterwards were also no problem. It was busy and all employees were certainly friendly, that's why 4 stars! Hopefully next time 5, because we will definitely be back!

On Easter Sunday we had a delicious lunch at Fort H. Not new to us, but always good. Fort H is a hospitable, cozy restaurant, a place where you will be pampered. Whether it's a regular Sunday afternoon, Christmas or Easter, the service is always fast, the food always tasty. During lunch, in addition to the separate lunch menu, you can also choose from the dinner menu, which makes the choice wide. You can opt for various small hot and cold dishes and put together your own menu. You can also opt for the classics and burgers, which are larger dishes. The wine list is extensive and offers sufficient choices by the glass. You can really customize a snack here to your own taste. We went for the oysters first; soft and full, with a tasty vinaigrette. As a starter, the tuna and sea bass carpaccio; fresh and soft. As a final course, the spaghettini à la fruits de mer and the bavette with fries; good taste. The courses are accompanied by a full Chardonnay and a powerful Primitivo. Finally, you can always make me happy with a creamy scroppino and they know how to prepare that at Fort H. We were both very satisfied, once again an “in the wimp” experience.

40 minutes cycling away from the city centre of Amsterdam, this tapas restaurant blends a modern interior with a traditional building. For lunch, you can choose between the lunch options or the tapas to share (2 to 3 per person are typically fine). Food was really tasty and service super friendly. Had lunch with seven people on a Saturday. The service was excellent and the dishes were prepared with care and tasty. Most dishes were small, so you had to order 2 or 3 per person and the bill would increase considerably. So we had a good lunch, but the price/quality ratio is not right!

Stopped here on the way from Zwolle to Haarlem. Enjoyed the attentive staff, the beautiful decoration and the delicious food. Recommended.

Rude, disrespectful service, very little food for a lot of money. The controls have shown that they have no sense whatsoever. Slightly complex menu (2 to 3 dishes equals 2 courses), so think carefully. Opted for the drinks platter for 2 people. And that was not a bad choice. A little bit of everything, including an oyster per person. The table for 2 was on the small side for the board, plates and glasses. The platter with dessert was enough for me for dinner. Beautiful restaurant. Tartare that I ordered was a bit disappointing. I would never do it as a main course again. I missed extras with the dish such as pickles, egg yolks, marinated vegetables. Duck with chicory starter, what could I say, three slices of slightly dry duck fillet and literally four leaves of chicory, I really don't think much for 15 euros.

We hebben vanavond met zijn zessen heerlijk gegeten en genoten van zowel de entourage als het eten en de bediening. Alles klopt en zorgt voor een ontspannen avond. Precies wat je wilt als je een avondje uit eten gaat met vrienden.

Tijdens wandeling door Muiden zochten we een plek om te lunchen. Gelukkig hadden ze hier nog ruimte voor een onaangekondigde groep van 10.

Fort H is voor mij een restaurant waar je nog echt als een gast word behandeld. De ene kaart is goed doordacht met fijne gerechten. Dit alles op mooie plek. Een echte aanrader als je op een heerlijk terras wil zitten in de zomer. De service is top net als de bediening. We waren daar op een heerlijke zomerse avond, hebben er heerlijk van genoten

Na een dagje Amsterdam op de terugreis hier aangekomen en wat is dit een top locatie. Zonder reserveren kwamen we met 9 personen aan en niks was te gek of teveel gevraagd. Eten was uitstekend en ook voor de kids kan er gewoon wat klaar gemaakt worden wat alleen tijdens de lunch gegeten word ipv diner. Aardig,behulpzaam en vriendelijk personeel. Als wij hier langs komen rond etenstijd tijd weten wij waar we moeten zijn.

Heerlijke onverwachte lunch, waar we zelfs in korte broek en camping outfit super welkom waren. Genieten en komen zeker terug!

Vriendelijke en gastvrije bediening, gezellige sfeer. Eten is heerlijk, maar niet megaspeciaal. De prijskwaliteit is wel erg ver te zoeken. Losse hoofdgerechten rond €25 maar het standaard concept -waarbij je drie kleine gerechtjes kiest per persoon om te delen- is gigantisch duur namelijk vanaf (!l €15 per gerecht. Dan kom je gemiddeld op €45 / €50 per persoon op hoofdgerecht en dat is het absoluut niet waard. Glas huiswijn was €7 . Lekker maar echt te duur. We zijn wel eens in betere restaurants geweest met een lagere prijs voor betere kwaliteit.

Leuke sfeer, goede en vriendelijke bediening. Eten was heerlijk.
