Yesterday I was at a friend's house, and she suddenly got a craving for fries. Because it was raining constantly, I thought I'd call in the order, but after calling twice, I figured I'd go ahead and leave. When I entered the shop, the two men weren't really busy, so I said, "It's not that busy," and yet you don't answer the phone after calling twice! " According to the man, they hadn't heard anything... but anyway, I placed my order, and after sitting there for 15 minutes, I heard the two men grumbling and cursing... something was wrong with the system... I had to wait a bit... Because one of them had already wrapped up my fries, he said I had to restart everything... After waiting another 10 minutes, I asked if I could get my money back, which I didn't get... I did get a €3 refund for my Mexicano that hadn't been cooked yet... The fries, he said, were still warm, and so were the sausages... But after sitting there for half an hour, I'd had enough! And with the fries already wrapped up for over fifteen minutes, I cycled to my girlfriend's... and there I discovered that the fries were cold because of the cold sauce and onions! For someone on welfare, fries are a lot of money! So in short, I spent €20 on fries, which were cold and not really tasty anymore. I think the service was terrible!! The bags of fries went in the trash. Too bad, guys. I don't know if I'll ever come back to you again... because, as I said, €20 is a lot of money for someone like me, and that's what ends up in the trash!! If you'd like to give me my money back, I'd be happy to! And I'd also like to compliment the service! Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures, but you can't tell from a picture that something is cold.

If you want good fries, this is a recommended place. Depending on how you're feeling that day, they're among the best I know. Delicious side dishes can be ordered from the extensive snack selection. We've been customers for years. Update 2024: Unfortunately, the quality has been inconsistent lately! Hence, 1 point deduction.

Located in Middelburg's most beautiful alleyway, with a flower-covered roof, is this cozy fries shop with freshly made fries and a variety of delicious sauces, burgers, and other dishes. The owners are super accommodating and attentive to each guest. The service is excellent, and you feel very comfortable there. The prices are reasonable too, great 🍟

Very tasty and absolutely freshly cut French fries in a nice ambience

A super nice place to sit, on a side street, albeit without the sun. Delicious fresh fries and a cheese pudding with a beer. Fairly priced for the Netherlands, even if the beer prices are a bit high. Order and pay inside. The fries are served afterwards. A definite recommendation, as they're super tasty, fresh, and hot.

We've been here twice already, and the atmosphere is really nice and the homemade fries are delicious.

Auf der Suche nach den besten Frietjes in Middelburg, bin ich vor einigen Jahren schon mal bei BT‘je Anders gelandet. An damals konnte ich mich aber nur schwer erinnern. Einzig: Lecker war es. Also nochmal. Die Pommes werden täglich aus frischen Kartoffeln vom Bauern aus Westkapelle gemacht und regelmäßig als Beste in Zeeland ausgezeichnet. Zurecht! Neben den üblichen Bekannten aus der Fritteuse, findet man das ein oder andere (selbstgemachte) Highlight auf der Speisekarte. Eben doch ein bt‘je anders. Aber zurück zum Wesentlichen: die Pommes sind hervorragend und in meinen Augen die besten in Zeeland. Einziges Manko ist, dass die Sauzen nicht einzeln serviert werden, sondern einfach uba die Frietjes drüber. Trotzdem: Unbedingte Empfehlung. Empfehlung: Huisgemaakte Frietjes, Sauzen (Andalouse, Joppie), Frikandel, Kipsaté, Kipcorn, Viandel, Vegan Kroket, Shaslick, Kaastengels

Bacon burger €6.50 for a white bun with less than half a slice of bacon and just a drop of sauce. The fries were really good, but they do NOT make up for the bacon burger. DO NOT order a bacon burger!!!

We were very surprised with such a cozy snack bar, although they do have to do something about those rickety folding chairs. But otherwise the fries were super tasty and the service very good.

Helaas te veel harde frietjes. Echt een tegenvaller. De niet harde friet was wel lekker. Niet echt voor herhaling vatbaar.

After a long time we went to bt je anders again. We had ordered 2 x pork tenderloin satay. When the food was served, 1 portion of satay was burnt and the other almost dried out. We did receive 1 new portion (3 skewers) but it was mediocre. Very little meat on the skewers and too spicy satay sauce. The satay costs 8.50 per portion. Too expensive for what is delivered. In addition, I find a small cone of fries war which costs 5.00 on the expensive side.

Well, nice place with nice stuff, but the concept just doesn't work. The fact that it is self service could be clearer and the tables are a bit messy because of this. Nice beers and good snacks

Top tasty fries or chips just what you want 👌 perfectly cooked and plenty of choice in snacks - own satay chicken / tenderloin recommended and peanut sauce top. Come there for years and quality remains - delicious also with Belgian beer on tap. Detour / walk / cycle more than worth it 🍀

De frietjes zelf waren lekker en goed krokant gebakken en de stoofvleessaus was top. Maar op deze locatie (Nederland) en voor deze zaak zouden de bitterballen véél beter mogen, de mayonaise zou ik hier ook artisanaal verwachten ipv uit een pot (niet zó moeilijk te voorzien). De bediening was ook wat aan de onvriendelijke kant omdat onze 'Belgische' manier van bestellen niet overeenkwam met het plaatselijke woordgebruik. Er zou dus nog een pak meer uit deze zaak kunnen gehaald worden.

Besides the food which was ok, I have to say the service was poor. The waitress doesn't say hello, thank you or goodbye. We say hello no answers, I said goodbye 2 times, the second time insistent and she just ignored me. The gentleman in the kitchen was polite enough to respond. A smile costs nothing but apparently the smiles of the young lady are reserved for people she knew. It's deplorable to treat your customers with such rudeness.

Sehr sehr gute Frittenschmiede, die wissen was sie machen. Sehr zu empfehlen. Nicht günstig aber sehr frisch und sehr lecker. Pommes direkt aus frischen Kartoffeln. Frischer geht nicht. Der Rest….. frittieren können die Holländer alle, aber die können es besonders gut. Sehr große Auswahl

You can't call crunchy pieces of potato fries, the prices on the menu don't match what you have to pay and half of what's on the menu is gone or can't be ordered... No, just walk a little further because this is nothing. Or is this what you mean by 'different'?

It is as if the potato reaches its utter perfection here, unfolding all its hidden nuances and presenting them to the palate in a gentle crescendo. This is where true potato lust ignites, a deep longing for this golden pleasure. The selection of sauces resembles a palette of impressionist colors, each a masterpiece in itself, waiting to ennoble the golden canvas of the fries. But here is a small blemish on this otherwise enchanting taste experience: the fries are not served in protective bowls. It can happen that the artful distribution of the delicate sauces does not always achieve the perfect harmony that one would wish for this heavenly dish. Nevertheless, despite this small aesthetic drawback, the visit to Frietboetiek BT'je Anders remains a feast for the senses. A place that is etched in my culinary memory with 4 out of 5 stars - a wonderful example of how something truly special can arise from something simple.

The fries are tasty, but the price is high. What I don't like is that you have to stand in line to order. This is of course not a problem, but when it is busy there is quite a queue. The space for this is actually too small. I noticed that (presumably) the owner sometimes looks quite angry when he has to pass by. They created this themselves. If you don't like this, think of something else!

At Frietboetiek Broke Anders in Middleburg I tried traditional Dutch fries for the first time with mayonnaise, curry and onions on top. They tasted wonderful. I also had a cheese kroket that was delicious as well as a veal kroket. Eating at this restaurant was a good introduction to traditional Dutch snacks!

The name of this chip shop doesn't live up to it. You don't see the 'little bit different' on the menu. It is a standard card with a few 'home made' products. The snacks were dry and the home made stew sauce was very little in a paper container. A lot of money for the quality. We sat next to the empty soda crates at the front of the window. This was also not removed while eating. It is an authentic building in a very nice street.

The fries were incredibly tasty, all made from fresh potatoes. Super crispy and yet juicy. That's how I love it. Good value for money. The sauces were also very tasty. If I could have, I would have given ten points here too!

Looking for tasty fries with a thick dollop of mayonnaise? (Or one of the other many sauces). Then look no further and go to frietboutique! It is always busy and cozy and there is a nice play kitchen for the children. The tables also change quickly, so is it busy? It is definitely worth having a little patience🥳🤗

The food was very tasty and we didn't have to wait too long despite the large order. Unfortunately the special didn't taste that good, but everything else did. It's very comfortable to sit in the alley at the front. Unfortunately there was a misunderstanding when ordering, one fries and two sauces were missing. When we asked about it, the staff was unfriendly and unreasonable. Overall, still recommended.

Ik wilde even snel voor mijn werk een frietje halen, er stond een rij van 4 mensen voor mij maar na een kwartier stond ik nog steeds als 3e in de rij. Engelse Medewerkster ging op het gemakje vragen hoe ze een cappuccino moest maken, wat je wel hoort te weten lijkt me. Ben na 20 min weggelopen omdat ik bijna te laat kwam op mijn werk. Daarna doorgelopen naar de frietkraam op de markt en binnen 2 min stond de friet op tafel. Ik snap dat het druk kan zijn maar 20 min wachten om alleen nog maar te bestellen is ronduit belachelijk!!!

We have known this shop for years. No longer an insider tip. The best fries are here!! The burgers are also very tasty. We like the ambience in every season. Employees are always very friendly too. We like to come here to refresh ourselves after a day of shopping. Highly Recommended!

One of the best ways to eat delicious Friet in Zeeland. Plus, it's nice to sit in and it's quick, even though it's always full.

Went for a quick lunch. The place sits between an ordinary snack bar and a lunch spot. Same for the pricing. More expensive and more extensive menu than a snackbar but with the same ambiance and cheaper prices compared to a lunch spot. We shared a burger, croquettes (2 small chorizo) and a portion of fries, together with an 'uitsmijter' that is a typical lunch item not found in many snackbars. You order at the counter and they bring your food out. That is why it can be a bit cheaper than other spots, less serving people. They at first forgot my coffee but I got a new one later (they actually made the coffee, but never brought it that is why it was cold and they had to make new ones) all in all we payed around 40 euros which is a lot for a snack bar but not so much for a lunch spot. So a good concept here in the city.

Sad!! After many years of enjoying eating here, the tide has unfortunately turned. You always excelled in the quality of the fries, sauce and snacks. The fries are still okay, but the tasty Belgian mayonnaise has been replaced by a sour-tasting fries sauce ?? The frikandel also no longer has any quality and fries "stew meat" ??? You now get a tiny paper container with a watery sludge without any pieces of meat that taste like soy sauce....just gross! It looks like the remainder from the gravy pan that has been completely eaten and scraped out, adding a little water with a dash of soy sauce. It's really a shame folks...I never minded that you weren't cheap because you offered quality...but that's...GONE...unfortunately.
