Just like old times, ate the delicious fries with stewed meat with good friends. As far as we are concerned, still the best fries in Zeeland.

We stopped here for lunch after a stroll through the city. The atmosphere is charming and cozy. The fries are made fresh from whole potatoes – no frozen fries like at a chip shop, everything is freshly prepared, and you can taste the difference! We'll definitely be back!

It was a little disappointing for me. We got fries to go but they were unsalted and a little too overcooked for my liking. It was really hard to eat unsalted fries for me. I‘m feeling kinda sick now. The staff was really nice. But we had to wait till our order was taken and the people making the food looked a little overwhelmed by all the orders. Price is very fair. 3€ for the small size

The food is good. The atmosphere gives a rushed impression, possibly due to the crowds and the warm weather. The ladies are very friendly. Specifically, a young man with glasses, sort of a walking ‘coloring book’: very curt because the customer didn't know the menu by heart? I will definitely go back again to eat the excellent fries.

Unbelievable! My friends and I went here to eat something at the (way too expensive) chip shop. We all ordered something and after about 15 minutes it arrived, except for my burger which arrived later and was “almost ready”. My fries were cold, the rest was pretty okay though. Then, exactly 12 minutes after they brought the food, I still hadn't received my burger, so I went to ask where it was. Then, after 2 minutes, I got it and this is what I got for €6.10. Unbelievable, not recommended!

Ugh, what a filthy place, really bizarre. Used toilet paper even on the floor, also at the bar and in the kids' play area.

The service was friendly and tried their best, but waiting over an hour for fries and a frikandel was a real pain. The ordering process was a disaster. You had to queue up yourself, right in the middle of the restaurant amidst the busy traffic... The server interrupted the order mid-take to make an espresso I'd ordered, and then wrote down the wrong orders in the rush... The fries were practically unsalted, even though there was a salt shaker on the table... Otherwise, the fries were good, but just fries, and the frikandel was very good... Overall, it was simply too crowded and hectic for a quick bit of fast food. The price-performance ratio, however, was reasonable.

The best fries! Delicious food, comfortable seating, and the staff were incredibly friendly! It was incredibly busy, but nothing was too much trouble for them! The house stew is highly recommended—yummy! We'll definitely be back. And soon, too. Delicious! It's a lovely atmosphere, and it definitely doesn't feel like a chip shop.

Not worth the money at all. Cheese croquette cold, so-called artisanal shrimp croquette but without a single shrimp in it and still €5.60, shashlik for €4.80 and completely burnt, 2 bags of fries with mayo and ‘stew’ but the fries were sharp / small / ROCK-HARD and almost cold when they finally brought them, meat croquette tasteless, Bavaria in a dirty glass so instantly headless, and all that for €43.50 for 2 people. Money completely WASTED! Save yourself the misery and trouble and just pass this place by.

Went on a recommendation from a friend, and did not regret it. The food was great, very fresh and I did not have to wait long. I would recommend the frietjes met stoof (fries with braised meat), it was delicious.

I stumbled upon this little snack bar in Umbrella Alley quite by chance. From the outside, it looks rather unassuming, and I almost walked right past it. The pleasant surprise was all the greater. The fries were simply outstanding. Perfectly crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and tasted exactly as you'd want them to. I've eaten fries in many places, but these are definitely among the best I've ever tasted. For me, this place is a real hidden gem and a must-visit when in Middelburg. The service was also excellent. The staff were consistently friendly, cheerful, and attentive. You immediately feel welcome and can tell that they value customer service. The wait was short, the quality of the food was superb, and the price-performance ratio was absolutely fair. Anyone visiting Middelburg shouldn't miss this little shop. Easy to overlook from the outside, but a real culinary highlight. I would come back anytime.

Had a tasty meal, prompt service, lots of choice

A lovely spot tucked away in a hidden alley (sheltered by colorful umbrellas ☂️) to enjoy delicious variations of fries. It's simple – you order at the counter, and your food is brought to your table – served in metal holders. There's a choice of various sauces and sides. The selection of drinks is extensive (they even still have cola in small glass bottles 😊). The restrooms are gender-neutral.

We came here because of the good reviews, but were unfortunately a bit disappointed: - The food is (mostly) just as good as in all the other fast-food places; it just looks a bit fancier. The location on the street, for example, is very nice! - The homemade fries weren't any better than "regular" ones, and we got the impression that the fries at the bottom of the bag were older, double-fried ones, and only the top ones were fresh. - There were two mix-ups with our table neighbors when we ordered, and when we asked about it, the staff was rather rude. - The frikandel arrived without the typical serrated fork and had to be practically squashed. - Napkins weren't handed out, and there weren't any outside either. - One glass was decorated with dish soap and (still) dirty at the top. - There was no soap in the restroom. - The menu was partially incorrect: We ordered "3-kazen Bal 2 st." but only received one. Upon inquiry, they explained that one of the counters is now larger, which is why there are no longer two. - If you're outside, you have to go inside to order, and no one comes to let you know. That's perfectly fine, but a sign would have helped. This place could be so much better if they implemented more professionalism!

Delicious, fresh fries, a wide selection of sauces, and a very nice little backyard terrace.

The atmosphere here was always very good and the staff very friendly. Unfortunately, things have changed and it has become more businesslike. In the past, you always got a refill of your sauce if you asked for it. Now I had to pay another €1.70 for that tiny bit of extra sauce. That really detracts from the relaxed atmosphere that always prevailed there.

A cult classic chip shop with a somewhat quirky menu. They serve fries (of course), burgers, and a few other dishes. The food is tasty and the prices are fair. Plus, the atmosphere is incredibly cozy. It gets really crowded during peak hours.

Great fresh fries made from fresh potatoes. The atmosphere was very nice, but loud because the place was packed. Service was also okay, but due to the large crowd (people were lined up all the way to the street), it felt like a conveyor belt service... still, I'd gladly come back.

Unfortunately I can't agree that the fries are among the top ten in the Netherlands. I love fries but this was a really average experience, no wow effect. I had a garlic dip that the chef gave me from a plastic container, bought, not homemade. I rate the fries 5/10

The quality has noticeably declined. The fries are too crispy and dry. The tables aren't cleaned. It's a real shame. My old review from nine years ago: Delicious fries with all the trimmings: croquettes, frikandels, and various sauces. You can sit comfortably at the front by the alley, inside, or in the back courtyard.

Screaming children. Overpriced food. And staff who tell you to find another table, in a rather rude manner, even though it wasn't reserved for half an hour and you're still eating.

No trip to Zeeland is complete without a visit here! As always, very good and delicious!

Yesterday I was at a friend's house, and she suddenly got a craving for fries. Because it was raining constantly, I thought I'd call in the order, but after calling twice, I figured I'd go ahead and leave. When I entered the shop, the two men weren't really busy, so I said, "It's not that busy," and yet you don't answer the phone after calling twice! " According to the man, they hadn't heard anything... but anyway, I placed my order, and after sitting there for 15 minutes, I heard the two men grumbling and cursing... something was wrong with the system... I had to wait a bit... Because one of them had already wrapped up my fries, he said I had to restart everything... After waiting another 10 minutes, I asked if I could get my money back, which I didn't get... I did get a €3 refund for my Mexicano that hadn't been cooked yet... The fries, he said, were still warm, and so were the sausages... But after sitting there for half an hour, I'd had enough! And with the fries already wrapped up for over fifteen minutes, I cycled to my girlfriend's... and there I discovered that the fries were cold because of the cold sauce and onions! For someone on welfare, fries are a lot of money! So in short, I spent €20 on fries, which were cold and not really tasty anymore. I think the service was terrible!! The bags of fries went in the trash. Too bad, guys. I don't know if I'll ever come back to you again... because, as I said, €20 is a lot of money for someone like me, and that's what ends up in the trash!! If you'd like to give me my money back, I'd be happy to! And I'd also like to compliment the service! Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures, but you can't tell from a picture that something is cold.

If you want good fries, this is a recommended place. Depending on how you're feeling that day, they're among the best I know. Delicious side dishes can be ordered from the extensive snack selection. We've been customers for years. Update 2024: Unfortunately, the quality has been inconsistent lately! Hence, 1 point deduction.

Located in Middelburg's most beautiful alleyway, with a flower-covered roof, is this cozy fries shop with freshly made fries and a variety of delicious sauces, burgers, and other dishes. The owners are super accommodating and attentive to each guest. The service is excellent, and you feel very comfortable there. The prices are reasonable too, great 🍟

A super nice place to sit, on a side street, albeit without the sun. Delicious fresh fries and a cheese pudding with a beer. Fairly priced for the Netherlands, even if the beer prices are a bit high. Order and pay inside. The fries are served afterwards. A definite recommendation, as they're super tasty, fresh, and hot.

Auf der Suche nach den besten Frietjes in Middelburg, bin ich vor einigen Jahren schon mal bei BT‘je Anders gelandet. An damals konnte ich mich aber nur schwer erinnern. Einzig: Lecker war es. Also nochmal. Die Pommes werden täglich aus frischen Kartoffeln vom Bauern aus Westkapelle gemacht und regelmäßig als Beste in Zeeland ausgezeichnet. Zurecht! Neben den üblichen Bekannten aus der Fritteuse, findet man das ein oder andere (selbstgemachte) Highlight auf der Speisekarte. Eben doch ein bt‘je anders. Aber zurück zum Wesentlichen: die Pommes sind hervorragend und in meinen Augen die besten in Zeeland. Einziges Manko ist, dass die Sauzen nicht einzeln serviert werden, sondern einfach uba die Frietjes drüber. Trotzdem: Unbedingte Empfehlung. Empfehlung: Huisgemaakte Frietjes, Sauzen (Andalouse, Joppie), Frikandel, Kipsaté, Kipcorn, Viandel, Vegan Kroket, Shaslick, Kaastengels

We were very surprised with such a cozy snack bar, although they do have to do something about those rickety folding chairs. But otherwise the fries were super tasty and the service very good.

Bacon burger €6.50 for a white bun with less than half a slice of bacon and just a drop of sauce. The fries were really good, but they do NOT make up for the bacon burger. DO NOT order a bacon burger!!!

Helaas te veel harde frietjes. Echt een tegenvaller. De niet harde friet was wel lekker. Niet echt voor herhaling vatbaar.

After a long time we went to bt je anders again. We had ordered 2 x pork tenderloin satay. When the food was served, 1 portion of satay was burnt and the other almost dried out. We did receive 1 new portion (3 skewers) but it was mediocre. Very little meat on the skewers and too spicy satay sauce. The satay costs 8.50 per portion. Too expensive for what is delivered. In addition, I find a small cone of fries war which costs 5.00 on the expensive side.

De frietjes zelf waren lekker en goed krokant gebakken en de stoofvleessaus was top. Maar op deze locatie (Nederland) en voor deze zaak zouden de bitterballen véél beter mogen, de mayonaise zou ik hier ook artisanaal verwachten ipv uit een pot (niet zó moeilijk te voorzien). De bediening was ook wat aan de onvriendelijke kant omdat onze 'Belgische' manier van bestellen niet overeenkwam met het plaatselijke woordgebruik. Er zou dus nog een pak meer uit deze zaak kunnen gehaald worden.
