Friterie Wieck in Wijk 00 Centrum

After the Dutch Mountain Trail, I had fries and sour meat here. After a 100 km hike in three days, this was truly absurdly delicious. I enjoyed every bite. It was quite expensive, but the line showed that it was truly good. There wasn't much room to eat, but luckily we were able to sit outside on a small bench.

For me, this is the highest number of stars for a Dutch chip shop. For 5 stars, you really have to go to Belgium.

Salt is available if you want to add it yourself. Sauces are charged separately. Overall, it’s a straightforward spot for a quick snack rather than a place to linger.

When students and locals are constantly queuing, you should definitely pay attention. Everything is freshly made, very good quality, and really large portions! Definitely recommended

Looking for a quick snack during a short visit to Maastricht, I stumbled into Friterie Wieck. This offers the typical ambience and food offerings of Friterien in the Benelux countries. The fries were definitely more than tasty and are a recommendation.

Unfresh fries a little hard and flavorless mayonnaise. Correct staff. Spicy pork is not spicy. I would say ok just for food.

Not worth a second visit for me. The fries are average ok. Frikandel was ok, fleece croquette also ok. But if I ask for mustard and seriously have to pay 90 cents for it, at a price of 3 euros that's pretty wrong. Mustard goes with Bitterballen or a croquette. Paying for the sauce is understandable when it comes to fries, but not when it comes to mustard.

Bad chip shop! Bad staff..fries worthless and expensive. You ask for truufel mayonnaise and fries and you get garlic sauce. If you ask for Coke Zero, you get regular Coke. If you ask for small fries, you only get large fries.

This Friterie has home-made fries. Made with Traditional Sea Meat or Goulash. You can of course also order Snacks here. This Friterie is not big, but cozy. Definitely the place to be in Wieck Maastricht. Located from Sint Servaas bridge on the right if you come from the center.

I’m writing this review with a big smile on my face as I enjoy the fries from Friterie Wieck. The fries are perfectly cooked, and the generous portions of toppings elevate the experience. The truffle mayo fries, in particular, strike a perfect balance of rich and savory flavors. On top of the great quality of food and skillful preparation, the customer service is excellent. All in all, I definitely recommend a visit to Friterie Wieck!

Best frites in Maastricht! Good value huge portions, fries are crispy and delicious. They do loaded versions which look fantastic but i only had tartare/mayo. Highly recommended.

I was torn between 3 or 4 stars for this place. The fries were decent but felt overpriced, especially since sauces aren’t included—you even have to pay extra for one basic sauce. Plus, the fries came unsalted. While that might work for regular fries, it was tricky with the loaded fries we ordered, as adding salt over the toppings was almost impossible. It would be great if they asked whether you want salt before adding toppings to make it easier for everyone. Also, the guacamole wasn’t true guacamole—it was more like a watery guacamole-flavored sauce.

The best fries in the world, combined with the friendliest service, makes this place so amazing. My husband and I always look forward coming home to Maastricht and picking up their fries with delicious toppings, homemade kalfskroketten or frikandel speciaal. No wonder people are always lining up in front of their shop. Everything is always truly delicious!

I had Bitterballen for the first time and I'm glad I chose this place to try it. Was very tasty and fresh.

BUT I specifically asked what was on the dish and I wasn't told anything about cucumbers (I'm allergic) and when I got the food with cucumbers on it I was just looked at stupidly and the person at the checkout turned around and mocked me and made fun of me about the fact that I can't eat it and the boss also looked askance at everyone and gossiped about the customers...

At first it was really Wyck's better chip shop, but the last few times it was very weak or over-fried fries. Burgundian croquette... not very Burgundian in my opinion. Unfortunately, it is no longer necessary for me.

Fries limp, because they are swimming in the sauce. Hamburger is raw on the inside and if you say something about it, the response is that this is how it should be. Not the desired reaction if the customer prefers not to eat raw meat. I would have liked to squeeze something positive out of it, but (in retrospect) I also thought it was too expensive in relation to the quality.

After work I had to rush to get to the next appointment. So I decided to grab some fries here 'quickly'. Sour meat with mayonnaise, medium size. It took a while before it was served and I settled outside on the couch in the setting evening sun. Pleasantly warm, in the golden grazing light that rolled from the Aw Brök into Wiek. After a while the fries came. Now I'm not easily impressed by fries in the Netherlands. I usually go to Verviers or something to eat really good fries. But these fries, it must be said, are the exception to the rule. Well browned around the edges, crispy and irregular and of good size. The mayonnaise is light and sparkling in taste. The garnish with mustard seeds and pickled red onion rings fits seamlessly with the pickled meat. This can sometimes be a bit dry and heavy, and this refinement takes care of that effortlessly. Unpretentious, but refined and sophisticated when it comes to fries. The portion is more than enough for an adult and remains delicious until the end! I was in a hurry......I thought. Neatly dressed people who had finished Ramadan walked past me. I remembered how we used to celebrate the Catholic Holidays at our 'Easter best'. The pale golden light brought Brugstraat to life. Colors became more beautiful, fragments of conversations became pleasant traveling companions. How simple and beautiful it can sometimes be. I thought I was in a hurry......

You have to decide quickly so don't take your time! 2nd the oil tastes like something fishy. Very broken fries, 5 euros in Scheveningen you get very nice yellow shoe tasteful fries, here is a different country than the Netherlands.
