We stumbled into this place for a snack. Just had the fries which were hand cut and fried in front of us. The owner Ian was wonderful to visit with and had lots of suggestions for other places to visit and see during our stay.

Temporary summer employees can be difficult, the owner is in the shop back from holiday, clean shop , happy friendly place , nice music and wonderful view, such an great experience the snacks of Frites&Frites..just see for youre selve ..🥰

A nice little shop with delicious fries and very friendly service. All snacks are halal. The veal/beef croquette was much tastier than those floury things sold as beef croquettes at other places.

I didn't like it there. The gentleman wasn't very nice, unkempt, and not very hygienic. It was the first and last time.

Not the most hygienic place. Guy was coughing all over the place why holding my fries. Coughing in his hand and used that same to grab a fork and stuck it in my fries then handed it to me.

I can understand why this place isnt viral 😛 for one of the reasons, I was the second customer in line and still waited for 15 minutes to get one portion of fries. But during thosw 15 minutes I got to observe the man touching all the food with his bare hands while coughing. Then I finally got the fries and I would say they taste pretty average. Also he charged me more than what was written on the menu.

It's not a home made fries that for sure because the fries are frozen in the freezer for long 🙃 some are even expired,Also like the beautiful sauces arrange, please note that the mayonnaise, curry,and ketchup sauce the silver containers are not wash for a year or more and they keep on refilling it ,honestly because the sate sauce the containers are very dirty not washed for almost a year too and so of some of the snacks are expired in the fridge but the boss allow workers to sell it ,the place looks new but very dirty with unhygienic surroundings when you watch around carefully. Serving plates and other angles , are very dusty ,the oil for this fries are changed twice only in a year this caused myself and family to be sick for a months so I will advise the Netherlands food and drugs board to go and immediately check the foods being sold for customers because all are stored in freezer and some are expired too ,thanks I have worked there too and I know what I am saying public please go to the next joint thier Dutch snack bar it's better than the Turkish man here frites and frites ,here you might pay for your sickness tourist please avoid eating snacks here for you own good ,try check the sate sauce port when buying and all fries are in the freezer stored, I remember selling expired food for customer for 3 weeks and after the boss didn't pay me my salary too but it's all well ,public avoid snacks eaten there please.A word to a wise is enough 😀

Food not fresh smelled very dirty in the shop, fries not fresh were there last Thursday, man came with a bag of fries (just torn open) to refill it. My burger was also very dry and horrible, it was completely dirty. I CAN'T CONTINUE LIKE THIS! Get rid of this business, never again will they lie about the fries!!

Surprised this place isn’t viral! It’s def a hidden gem in the city of Amsterdam. Came in for a small fry with mayo, but ended up getting a couple different sauces - truffle mayo and curry ketchup, but there are so many to choose from. The staff was super friendly and very accommodating! Frites are deffo a must in Ams and my craving was satisfied coming in for a bite to eat here!

Nice spot for french fries and other fast food. Although the texture and taste of the fries was good, I did find them to be a bit too greasy and to not have an adequate amount of sauce on the side. Because of this I sadly I had to eat a part of the fries dry, an issue I normally don't have.

We visited Frites & frites while walking along and stopped by for a quick snack. Two very young boys were working there, maybe aged 12/13. The fries tasted good, enough salt and crisp to them. The sauces were great and many options. We paid €4.50 for a medium basket which is reasonable for back home in America. However the place is what you could expect of a quick snack bar: dirty and untidy. The tables were full of salt and crumbs but the boys were trying their best and were super friendly.

I was there today in the afternoon. There were 2 boys, 1 seemed really young, 13/14 years old and another boy who explained to him. There were no other customers, the fries were already fried in the frying basket, it was put back in the oil and received half a minute later. It was no longer tasty, not "fresh" and therefore had no taste and even though it doesn't look like that in the photo, it was just hard. I took a medium for ~4.50 but it was just a waste of money because I threw away what you see in the photo. Shame.

NEVER ORDER HERE! We ordered 1 hour in advance. After waiting 2 hours our order was canceled. We called several times, but there was no answer. Scandalous!

We walked over, but when we arrived, they were temporarily closed while their oil was warming up. Luckily, we were able to do some grocery shopping across the street while we waited! The food was excellent and the employees (owner??) was very nice! We ordered the Bitterballen with mustard and the chicken burger, all for under €15. The flavors were fantastic, and I especially loved how fresh the burger was. The pricing felt very reasonable compared to similar spots in the area!

Order fries rendang for the rendang, they will give you Mexicano as a replacement without consultation (without sauce) Laziness and several mistakes in the past ensure that I will not order from here again

Nothing special, but the fries were good. The only soda options were the zero versions. Very slow service, because the man at the register kept stopping to make phone calls. My friend and I waited a while to order and then to get our food. A family of 5 behind us was served before we were and all we ordered was fries The sink in the bathroom wasn’t connected to the pipes below, so water ran everywhere. No lock on the bathroom door.

We wanted to eat a delicious portion of fries in 2024 and were not disappointed here. Fries with sauces were very tasty and the other fried snacks didn't disappoint either... Gladly again 😁🤟🏻

For the second time, I have been disappointed by this place, and it will also be the last. I ordered a shrimp croquette but received a vegetable croquette instead. On top of that, I ordered fries for two people but only got a portion for one. The fries were clearly fried in old oil, which made them taste unpleasant. Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time something went wrong. Last time, I was even served a frozen shrimp croquette. It’s incredibly frustrating to repeatedly pay for something I didn’t receive. I paid much more than what I actually got, and both the quality and service are downright terrible. I will never order from here again. This was the final straw for me.

Frites&Frites is working on new menu with famous dilek chicken doner and has finished construction, they had to stay open within days new team best fries chicken kapsalon and mutch more , i know this place need a bit patience you will love it even more

I have now bought food there about 6 times because the quality of fries and especially the snacks is very good. But the service is really incredibly bad. There is always someone else who seems to be new. They are slow and every time I have been they have made a mistake in the order or forgotten something. You also wait at least 20 minutes even if it is quiet. The manager who is often there never helps and sometimes forgets to help new customers and is mainly concerned with peripheral matters. So very bad

Not what it used to be, the quality, speed and service used to be top. Nowadays you wait a long time, they forget something in your order, the fries are soggy and the snacks are nothing special. In addition, everything is stuffed into the containers and bags. I never actually post a bad review, but I would like to protect you from this.

Good quality for the right price and good service

My friend and I stumbled upon this place because we wanted to eat some fries. We didn’t expect much from “just” a cafeteria - but this is not just a cafeteria. The manager is really passionate about his work and you can just tell by the way he describes their assortment, like the sauces by its flavour profile or the kind of fries they use, just to name a few examples. We dined in and had such a good time. The fries were DELICIOUS and the kroket was just so crispy on the outside and insanely creamy on the inside. This is definitely our favourite fries joint in Ams West and I’d recommend it to everyone!

the food was delicious and the service was amazing. i never liked any sauces with my fries but the manager convinced me to let him surprise me and it did not disappoint. he upgraded my order to their in-house specialty: crispy fries dusted with parmesan cheese and a generous amount of both truffle mayo and andalouse sauce. my mind has been changed about sauces since trying this and i will be coming back.

A wonderful, cozy and clean establishment at a great location. The food is excellent end very tasty. For sure The Best Chips in town. The owner is a very nice and kind person. You can thruley feel the warm welcome when you step in and you can definitely taste that the food is made with love and care. I come here almost every day for a nice meal after my work. Somewhere next week a new menu with a lot of tasty food will be added. Update and pictures will follow.
