They were at their home base this weekend, and the fries were unbelievably delicious! Truly the best I've had in years. And the guy was super nice, too. Fan!

The fries/chips were delicious and fresh. Excellent👍🏼 The grumpy man taking the order can't smile or be friendly. It's a shame. It also creates a poor atmosphere.🙄

These were perhaps the best fries I've ever had. As someone who's a big fan of crispy fries, I thoroughly enjoyed them. They were still thick fries, but they were truly deliciously crispy around the edges, which I much prefer to those thick fries that are simply soft (but that's a matter of taste). You can see the potatoes in the kitchen, and it's also clear that the fries and snacks (I had a croquette myself) are of excellent quality. The prices are a bit higher than you might be used to paying for fries, but compared to other snack bars and large fast-food chains, it's actually quite reasonable considering the quality and the fact that it's all homemade. So, it's not for every day, but it's still very much worth it if you're craving really good fries.

Frituur van Gogh in Amersfoort is one of those places that makes you happy. I stumbled upon it while walking through Time to Momo and then saw nothing but praise on Google. And rightly so, as it turned out. The fries were just right – crispy on the outside, soft on the inside – but the real surprise was the cheese soufflé. Without exaggeration: the best I've ever had. Full of flavor, perfect texture, and not that usual soggy feeling you often get. It was pleasantly busy, with a pleasant atmosphere and super friendly people behind the counter. You can tell they enjoy what they do. If you're in Amersfoort, don't miss this place. Have fries and a cheese soufflé at Frituur van Gogh – it sounds simple, but it's a little moment of happiness. Absolutely recommended.

This branch is way better than the other one. It tastes perfect, so well seasoned. The staff were super friendly.

The Frituur Van Gogh fry shop has made my heart swell. I love the portion sizes and the gigantic selection of sauces. A little warning: I've now felt the pain of a thousand suns on my tongue after biting into the cassouflee. However, this means that every order is prepared individually for everyone. Waiting time took 1 hour while it was not busy. I asked for fries with mayonnaise and ketchup but only got carrying back. The floor was completely wet and I almost fell. The staff did not know Dutch so do not come here.

This one is much better than the other Van Gogh further down! Tasty fries and the snack bar is also nicely designed. Proud owner of a Tata, can't wait for the harvest festival, :)

The best fries in Amersfoort and far beyond, who knows, maybe even in the Netherlands. Certainly not cheap, I think it's worth it, especially when I say that it is the best fries in the Netherlands. Fortunately, it is good not to eat fries every day, otherwise it would no longer be affordable. I also think the homemade snacks are a nice concept, but that doesn't mean that I immediately like them better than factory snacks. In this case I say it is wonderful that Van Gogh still performs a beautiful craft.

Van Gogh. always fresh from real potatoes. And you can taste the difference. Whenever I'm in Amersfoort we stop by.

It's really a snack stop and for grabbing fast Dutch snacks. I like their fries. Their small portion of fries is really enough for normal adults. Their fries are cut from potatoes and fried directly. You can watch them do that. Their sate or peanut sauce is different to the most peanut sauce you find in the other snackbar. You can seat inside or outside. And they have many interesting postcards which you can read and take with you.

Perfect fries, but waaaay too salted. Which isn't too surprising considering how the deep-frier threw a cup of salt into the bowl of fries before handing them over. Truffle mayonnaise has that truffle taste, but the mayonnaise was a little too sour, even for vegan mayo. Tried the vegetarian croquette on bread. Tasted more like a bad bamischijf than a crocquette. Not a fan.

Delicious chip shop with quality products. Lots of homemade products and you can taste that. The staff is extremely friendly and serves with a smile. It's worth enjoying your delicious meal here!

Trek in een kroket. Vond hem aan de erg stevige prijs, 3.25. Maar men zegt 100% uit eigen keuken. Prima verder lekker smeuïge kroket. Harde korst. Met goed draadjes vlees. Hapte heerlijk weg. Voor de mosterd moest ik trouwens ook betalen. (Nog niet eerder ergens mee gemaakt) Verder

Top fries and top snacks, very friendly, and nice that they try new snacks in addition to the regular range. The keierbal is very tasty.

Exactly what a chip shop should be: large French fries cut directly from the potatoes in the store, first fried cool, then set aside and finally fried hot so that they are fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. There are many different sauces, but you should just eat them straight out of the paper bag. The beef croquette is also wonderful: creamy meat wrapped in a crispy dough. You have to control yourself to wait until it cools down enough so you don't burn your mouth. Apart from the food, the staff is very chatty and has lots of good tips. Simply great!

For me, Van Gogh is part of the Amersfoort experience. Delicious, good fries and especially the new snacks (keierbal and lange jan) are very inventive and tasty. However, it remains a bit pricey.

The potatoes are delicious but the wait is long. And I would like more tables.

A really nice place, they have good food and nice people. Yvette from above was right, REALLY the tastiest in the whole of the Netherlands. I personally didn't like the cheese soufflé very much. The fries and the rest are good, it's a good snack bar, but it's a shame they didn't have slush puppies

Never had better fries. When I'm in the corner, I always try to swerve over to these great fries. The chips are also recommended.

Nice layout, excellent fries but downright ridiculous prices. 1.75 for a dollop of truffle mayo which wasn't even enough for a large bag. 6.50 total and wasn't even much. Quality was fine but that's all, I expected much better given the reviews.

Shrimp croquette was still frozen on the inside. Also no shrimp found in the croquette. Crust was very thick, the salpicon mealy and tasteless. I don't understand what is so good about this.

Didn't really expect much but omg their fries were absolutely delicious. The perfect crunch and perfectly cooked inside.

No cash payment, only debit card payments. I find ignoring legal tender to be scandalous and a reason to never get a snack here again. We sat there for a while and we noticed that of the ten customers, six or seven wanted to pay in cash. I wish them many PIN failures in the near future, at least they won't see us there anymore. Update: I would like to leave the owner's comments on a customer's opinion to the reader's discretion.

I love the fries but they have become very expensive and the young people are too busy with each other.

Top class fries. Large portion perfect for two to share. Yum. There is a small bench seating area inside too so you can enjoy which sitting down.

Patatje gehaald maar had mij er meer van voorgesteld. Vond t ook aardig aan de prijs om eerlijk te zijn. Verder de eigengemaakte snacks niet geprobeerd. Het regende en binnen is er weinig plaats dus waren snel weer weg. De allerbeste patat blijft toch die van Bram Ladage in Rdam e.o.

Voor een ambachtelijke portie patat of kroket moet je hier zijn. Patat wordt van vers gesneden aardappelen gemaakt en de kroketten worden uit plaatselijke producten die je zonder mosterd eet.

Heerlijke patat, van een kampioen! Om je vingers bij af te likken. Een gezellige sfeer verdiend verbetering. Zeker de moeite waart om te bezoeken als toerist.

Echt top verse friet, goede kwaliteit aardappel en goed gebakken. De betere sauzen (vlaamse mayonaise, andalouse, pickels....)erbij en dito snacks.. Alles met een zeer vriendelijke en vlotte service we zijn gewoon gelukkig geworden van een frituur bezoek 👍👍 bedankt

Yes, I know, it's a cafeteria. But it's not a normal one. It's the one with the best Friet you can imagine. Not frozen, as in many other but fresh cutter potatoes. Well fried. The people working are busy but do have time for each client. I do recommend theire Friet and the beef crocette. They make them self as well and taste very good.
