The best coffee I’ve had in a long time—rich, flavorful, and simply unforgettable. I’ve tried many places during my stays in Amsterdam, and while there are plenty of good and even excellent cafés, this one is truly the very best. The coffee tastes so good that the price feels more than fair—it’s excellent quality without being expensive. Service is wonderful, with comfortable seating available, and everything can also be taken to go. I’ll gladly return on my next visit—highly recommended!

The Café was exactly what I needed. Nice and calm. The woman at the counter was super nice and the Crossiant and Carrot Cake were delicious!

July 2025 A nice small place with a terrace. Coffee prices are good and a swift service. Of course area full in development so smart to be their already. Espresso has a slight acid taste, not too bad but for me a bit too much, could use a punch. (But taste differs for everybody)

Cosy place that is true to its name. Their coffee is good as is their decaf coffee. Highly recommend the Smokey caramel latte and iced is great too! ✨

Inconsistent quality. First time I was there I was blown away by the coffee - great milk texture and tasty balanced espresso. The 2nd visit there was disappointing, with bubbly, overly foamed milk and watery espresso. It was a different barista that day which explains the sharp change.

It was one of my favourite coffee places when I visited Amsterdam. The staff is very kind, and the coffee and carrot cake were delicious. Really liked the atmosphere, and the mirror in the washroom really gives you a self esteem boost 🥰

Best coffee I've had in Amsterdam. The coffee is truly excellent. The yogurt bowls are amazing and the croissants are also delicious. All served with a smile and a comfy seat if you need one. If this wasn't enough, the latte art skills on display are impeccable as well!

We came away for a short break and googled cafes near us - my goodness, Google found the best cafe! It has such a warm snd friendly atmosphere and nothing is too much for the staff here; they are a ray of sunshine and do the most amazing food - especially the yoghurt pot, it's so good! I forgot to mention, their prices are so reasonable and they also have their cute little dog, Scooby to welcome you (he's so calm and sweet). We came here every morning and we were NEVER disappointed. We need this cafe in the UK! Thank you, Gentle Place Cafe. 🤩🤩

Beautiful cafe and incredibly accommodating. We came the first day and came for the rest of the holiday!! My daughter loved the peanut butter latte and we all ate the yoghurt bowl in the mornings, delicious and very filling. Definitely somewhere to go if you are in the area. Super chill place, with decent coffee. The slice of lemon cake, while nice, felt overpriced for the size.

Review: I've been three times now, but unfortunately the quality of the cakes is lagging behind. The cakes are always very dry and crumble apart easily. It even feels very dry in the mouth. I would like to see a little more care and attention put into making the cakes so that they are tastier and moister. Hopefully this will be improved in the future. Featuring vegan 🌱desserts and a variety of coffee options. Due to regulations the opening hours are special so please confirm before you go ☕️This is a friendly restaurant, I hope everyone can come and support it👏

Damn did that peanut butter latte taste good! Perfectly delicious, achieving the delicate balance of nuttiness, creaminess and caffeine while keeping the sweetness subtle. The savory mushroom sandwich was loaded with well seasoned mushrooms and a gooey mix of cheese, perfectly tart and melts right into your mouth. The cafe is super nice and chill and the owner takes great care and attention to everything, and is super nice. Check out this lovely place and to get your dose of happiness and peace.

The coffee is great, the food too, the prices are fine, they have a cute dog called Snoopy, I really loved this place. The owners are also very kind and polite. Totally recommend it

Took a side trip to visit this lovely neighbourhood cafe. Flat white - best outside of Sydney. We loved the hot chocolate. The yogurt/muesli/fruit bowl hits the spot! Healthy and delicious. Extremely friendly staff. You won’t be disappointed visiting.

Wonderful specialty coffee near NDSM

We discovered this place when we went for an ultrasound nearby. And now we go there just for a good coffee and freshly baked croissants. Kimchi toastie and yoghurt bowl are also good. Maybe this place is not something that can blow your mind but it’s a place where you want to go back. Oh, and the dog is cute 😍

Absolutely my favourite place for coffee ever. Nour is very passionate about serving delicious coffees, but also involved with our new piece of north. Have you already tried the kimchi tosti or the yogurt bowl?

Super friendly owner who makes a fine flat white! This part of town doesn’t have much atmosphere but the owner clearly tries to liven up the neighborhood by creating a place where regulars come and neighbors meet.

Good coffee and very friendly service. Concerning the atmosphere, the neighborhood is newly built and still being under construction for the next 5 or 6 years. So don't expect to drink and eat in a touristic place like Leidseplein or Rembrandtplein. You must understand the history of this area to appreciate it with of course a cup of coffee in your hand.

Can't say anything other than delicious coffee and a super interested owner. He asks new guests if they are from the area and what their names are and in no time he recognizes you and addresses you by name. That's hospitality! Many catering owners can learn from this. Nour brings that little bit of warmth to the neighborhood that people need here.

Great coffee, pastries & atmosphere

We loved this cafe. The flat white and matcha latte were both delicious and well made by the barista who is also the owner. If you are hungry the kimchi toast is delicious and the baked goods too. The cafe is set out really well with outdoor seating as well as a large indoor seating area out the back for cooler days. The owner is really friendly and I highly recommend visiting the cafe if you are in the north of Amsterdam. Dogs welcome!
