Golden Garden in Rokkeveen

The food is always good and the staff are friendly and the restaurant is beautiful and I am a regular customer.

I took home takeout in the evening. I ordered without eggs (since I don't eat meat or eggs). It turned out the food at home contained eggs. The next day (today), I called the restaurant. Instead of apologizing and resolving the issue, they told me no dietary requirements had been specified and that we could just eat the nasi. It was as if I didn't know what I eat and what I don't. Otherwise, according to the restaurant, we should have ordered vegan nasi. Apparently, they don't know the difference between vegan and lacto-vegetarian. In any case, the restaurant has no service and no manners when they tell a lacto-vegetarian to eat a dish with eggs. I can't describe this approach.

The food here is always delicious. Now that we live in The Hague, we can always eat here or get takeout.

I've been coming here for years; the food is excellent, and the service is good and friendly. The prices are reasonable, and it's no problem to take home leftovers; they're neatly put in a container. I hope to be coming here for many years to come.

Today for the first time something got nasi Golden Garden inedible beef with red was just like Goulash. The satay and peanut sauce just dirty light in the trash. You have to pay for the containers while this has been abolished by the government so extra income. Never again

Got food today, found it very expensive, compared to when you sit here with drinks. Also very unfortunate that many mistakes were made, while I had clearly stated my order. Not reachable by phone in the evening, so could not call about it. Not being careful with food is very annoying for people with allergies.

We had dinner here last weekend and it was, in a word, bad! The restaurant is full of the famous tattooed Tokkie van Zoetermeer! Tables full of Tokkies talking at a high volume! The whole birthday was ruined by our elderly! Restaurant owners are probably used to this in Zoetermeer! We won't be coming back here again! Children have learned the word K here! Apart from everything, they are way too expensive here and the food is extremely spicy!

We regularly get take-out from here and occasionally eat there. Today we wanted to eat in the restaurant at 5 p.m. When we walked in we had the choice of a small table opposite the toilets or a table for 2 opposite the kitchen entrance. The other tables were either reserved or not reserved but intended for regular customers, who were therefore not allowed to sit opposite the toilet or kitchen entrance. Those places are exclusive for... as regular customers? This is such a shame. We felt so unwelcome.

Last time the spring rolls were less good, but this time they were great as usual.

Had a delicious meal with a group of 20 people. Various dishes were put on the table for us, each better than the other. Also a nice Chinese style restaurant. Excellent service, for example by placing dishes back and forth so that everyone could taste everything.

**Disappointing experience with service** Golden Garden suddenly no longer takes telephone orders. They only accept reservations for dining in the restaurant. That's fine in itself, but the big problem is that they don't answer the phone between 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM. How should you make a reservation or know if there is still room? Especially in these times, customer friendliness should be a priority. There is enough competition. Very unfortunate, because I had better expectations from them. Hopefully they address this quickly or not. Food was always good. From now on, order elsewhere by telephone and now make reservations elsewhere for 22 people due to the anniversary.

Forgotten spring roll when picking up. Last time portion of prawn crackers. I didn't say anything about the latter because it is only small. Because I can't hear anything on the phone right now. I did pay for this. I'll call again tomorrow. For me it is too far to go back and forth quickly (half an hour). Bad!

Yesterday we got some Chinese food, as we often do, and what I noticed was that the bowls of noodles and nasi have become a lot smaller, so we actually fell short, so it's a shame they didn't mention that. Greetings from Swieten

Generous plate size, great flavour.

Tried again today, unfortunately hope is lost again. I haven't been there for a while, mainly because things sometimes went wrong with the order and because the meat dishes such as babi pangang were always very dry and stiff. Unfortunately the same thing again today. Foe yong hai with pork turned out to be with chicken when I got home and I thought I would try the babi pangang bacon, which should normally be soft meat with a crispy rind edge. That container I got (again), it was so hard baked (almost black) that I couldn't cut it, insanely hard, dry and stiff. It seemed as if everything that came back from the restaurant had been fried up quite a bit and they were literally throwing it into your takeaway container, or the chef had a problem with his eyes. If you saw the babi bacon on the table, it seems that they think that what goes out through the bags, those people will not return quickly because they are already at home. Unfortunately I do. I went back once before and didn't get my money back because I didn't have the noodles with me. Now she does, and she didn't want to give the money back for the noodles at first, what good is a bare bowl of noodles??? So I returned this because I wanted my money back for the babi pangang bacon. I've been coming there for about 15 years, but when I complained and showed her, she turned around like a leaf from a tree and the nice Chinese suddenly became not so nice anymore... If looks could kill I would have this message can no longer write. She advised me (a regular customer) to look for another Chinese person. This advice was not necessary because I already had this line of thought. Now especially after this arrogant, wisecracking and highly irritated attitude and behavior. The money was slammed onto the counter and she turned and walked away without saying anything. So people be warned. If you get food there, just like it, because if you think anything of it, she will get angry. I will indeed look for another Chinese

As so often the past 30 years or so, get a delicious Chinese meal today at Golden Garden. Order placed with the employee, wait, order ready, go home. At home the order turned out to be incomplete, barely half, so I called and it turned out that the employee had written it down incorrectly, so I was allowed to walk back, my guests were waiting at home to eat and the food I already had was getting cold. When I get there, they arrive ice cold with a receipt for 7 euros that I had to pay extra! Have they gone crazy? Because of their mistake I have to walk back and forth twice, let food I already had get cold and make my guests wait. A sincere apology and a free pack of prawn crackers for the inconvenience would have been better. So today was the last time after more than 30 years and dozens of times eating there with groups and picking up food countless times. It's a shame for this attitude to let a good customer go for 7 euros.

This restaurant has done well, both for takeaway and in the restaurant. I'll zoom in on takeout, because that's what we do most often. Order is always correct. Food is delicious and warm/hot. The ingredients are fresh and tasty. Service is friendly and correct.

A surprisingly good Chinese. I did not expect that. As a starter I had the steamed Cantonese dim sum selection which was quite standard (siu mai, har kau etc.), but steamed well. As a main course the Tiapan Babi pangang mix. I actually only saw two types: traditional Babi pangang (which was very good, by the way) and char siew (very good). I thought the ratio of pangang / char siew was very skewed. Lots of pangang, little char siew. Maybe that's because it might have also included roasted bacon? If that was the case, it didn't come out well. Benefit of the doubt. The portions are extremely generous for the price. Service smooth and friendly. Appearance/atmosphere not shocking.

The food was very tasty and well prepared. It's a pity that the waiter comes across as very unfriendly/gruff...that really makes the atmosphere unpleasant! Fortunately the lady was friendlier, which makes up for it a bit.

The location is very good, closed to supermarket within free parking space. Waiters are all very nice and speak Dutch /Chinese well, service is good for each client. The food is fine but more suitable for Dutch people, not classic to Chinese.

We had three spring rolls and pangsit goreng. The banana was not soft and mealy, the batter around the banana was very thick. We had much better spring rolls, which were filled with just a lot of bean sprouts and some chicken. Too bad we are usually satisfied, but not now.

Takeout was quite generous and tasty. I ordered the rijsttafel and it was plentiful for the following day. I would certainly come for the next times. Rating for service and atmosphere were not mention worthy, since we only sat in the waiting room

We zijn vaste klant bij Golden Garden. De prijskwaliteit verhouding is erg goed, het eten is lekker en de service is ook goed. Reserveren van te voren is wel handig want het is vaak vol (vooral in het weekend).

Met een grote groep daar gegeten en iedereen was er erg over te spreken. Alles was goed geregeld, we zaten in het achterste deel van het restaurant waardoor we een beetje apart zaten van de andere gasten.

Een Chinees restaurant zoals je een Chinees restaurant verwacht. Vriendelijk en attent personeel, steengoeie pekingeend en uiterst malse ossenhaas.

Het eten is prima alleen jammer van de grote stukken ham in de nasi als je het dunne maakt is het nog lekkerder en in de loempia mag wel iets meer andere groente meer kleuren in het gerecht (het is maar een tip) maar de korst was lekker knapperig en was wel groot top

Heerlijk gegeten en meer dan genoeg! Vriendelijke personeel. De aankleding kan wel een oppepper gebruiken. Maar het gaat om het eten en dat was erg lekker!

Weer eens een keer geprobeerd in het restaurant te gaan eten. Mmmm nee volgende keer gewoon weer halen, eten is prima maar de sfeer en bediening kan beter.

Nasi rames speciaal gehaald. Slechte kwalteit, geen lekkere smaak. Sommige bakjes leek wel soep. Enige wat lekker smaakte was het gebakken eitje op de nasi.

Uitgenodigd voor een familie etentje. Vriendelijke bediening, die ons vertelde wat de gerechten allemaal inhielden. En dan het eten zelf. Geweldig gewoon, ik heb heerlijk gegeten. Wij hadden allemal ti pan gerechten die, zoals de naam al doet vermoeden, geserveerd werden in gietijzeren pannetjes. Hierdoor bleef het eten goed warm, en kon je steeds een beetje opscheppen. Ook de toetjes en koffie na waren geweldig. We waren zo druk met eten dat er geen tijd was om foto's te maken. Al met al was het een gezellige avond met leuke bediening en perfect eten. Zeker een aanrader.
