Gouden Huis Hoogeveen in Wijk 50 Hoogeveen

Had a great experience at this Chinese restaurant. Portions were generous — I couldn't finish everything, but that's a good problem to have. Service was friendly and attentive, and I loved how the food was presented right at the table. The chicken stood out especially — some of the softest, most tender chicken I've had. Everything was delicious, and the menu has so many options that I'll definitely be back to try more. And about the atmosphere here — the restaurant isn't usually crowded with people eating in, so it works well for takeaway. But if you like a quiet spot to relax and eat alone, this place is perfect.

I thought it was good for a very long time, but it's getting worse now. The spring roll used to be nice and firm and crispy, but now it's limp and has little meat. I always order ajam pangang without atjar or chicken in curry sauce without vegetables, but sometimes atjar is added anyway, or it looks just like soup because there is so much sauce in it. The egg on the bami looks like it's from a bantam chicken, it's so small. The bami nag does have more vegetables in it and they are cut a bit finer, maybe a bit more carrot (julienne cut), and onion and bean sprouts give just a bit more flavor, a bit fewer diced ham. It's expensive enough these days (like everything nowadays); everyone has to make a profit, but it has to be good. Temperature is always good. I never see any smoke hanging around and they are certainly friendly. I'm going to try it another 1 or 2 times, and if it doesn't change, I'll look for another place.

Picked up food. New owner, new name. The food tasted good, but the babi pangang, which was heavenly at the previous owner's, was a bit disappointing this time. Not that it was bad, but it's not like it used to be.

Personally, I think this is the best Chinese food in the Hoogeveen area. Tender meat, delicious flavor, and good white rice! 🍚 Always very satisfied 😊

Ordered food, received nothing (food or message) half an hour after the delivery time, so decided to call. Answer: Busy! And to every follow-up question, such as why not just a message, the answer starts with a ‘yes but…’. When can we expect the food now, then? ‘In fifteen minutes’. After another good half hour later, the food is at the door, with every sentence again starting with ‘yes but…’. Unpacked the food and there was the real disillusionment: the spring rolls were so limp they tore when picked up, and the dark brown cooking oil flowed all over the plate. The entire plastic bag in which the food had been transported was soaking wet with the same oil; the contents looked completely inedible. (Punishment for calling to say the food was ready?) Returned the food to the restaurant and asked for a refund. This can only be done by bank transfer, ostensibly for tax purposes?? However, the lady behind the counter was unable to read the bank card details, and the transaction kept failing. When I was given the opportunity to look at her phone myself to see what was wrong, it turned out she had entered the name in the bank account number field and the bank account number in the name field….! That's when her patience ran out; she was still busy! and she gave the money back in cash after all. Very bad experience, both the service and the food; we will never order here again!

Our first encounter with the Gouden Huis Hoogeveen. We had a meal delivered. A truly charming lady rang the doorbell and delighted us with a fantastic meal. A genuine and generous meal. Definitely worth repeating. No photos because it was all gone!

We have been getting babi pangang with nasi and a large bami for years, it is always delicious and enough for 2 days and I am going to order spring rolls right away. I am very curious, super good Chinese!

The food isn't great, and it lacks flavor. Lots of pickled vegetables, very little meat. The whole place is filled with blue smoke. Definitely not recommended.

Unbelievable, the food was terrible! Everything was lukewarm and tasteless. The kids' spring rolls weren't even cooked! Absolutely never coming back here again, the chicken food was so expensive (if they'd even eat it!) Absolutely unacceptable.

Delicious. The taste is great. I think the prices are too high compared to other Chinese restaurants.

We entered a cold restaurant, the whole place was blue with smoke. No one spoke to us. I got the menu at the counter and walked back to place my order. We were given soup that was partly warm, partly cold. While we were eating the soup, our food was already being brought out, and no one said a word. Not even when I said thank you; there was no reaction. The father, mother, and daughter were arguing, or having a disagreement, and were shouting at each other in Chinese. We were the only ones in the restaurant. And that was on a weekend evening. When we finished our meal, I paid, and within half an hour we were back outside. This was not something we would do again. The food was bland, too cold, and the chicken was strange. It was like white, spongy chunks.

Spring rolls fell apart on the plate because of the amount of fat. Both the nasi and the noodles tasteless. First and last time I picked up here on February 25.

Picked up for the 1st time, monthly menu and small babi pangang. Very large portions, everything tasted good. Especially chicken curry and foe yong hai very tasty, satay large pieces of chicken fillet. Definitely worth repeating.

The food was at the right temperature, otherwise tasteless or the spices were gone. Service very austere, and the whole place has a lack of atmosphere.

Not worth a star!!!! I don't know where to start. We order more than two hours in advance with a two-hour delivery time. So plenty of time. Unfortunately that is not the case because it was delivered half an hour later, not warm and not what we are used to. I called and you immediately get an angry answer that you are not allowed to order anymore. We won't be ordering here anymore. Probe of a good Chinese restaurant in Hoogeveen!

New owners and the name changed to Golden House. Great progress, great for takeaway. Paid parking in front of the door or in the rear parking lot. Quite pricey.

No delivery, waiting an hour and a half and spontaneously not available by phone

Lekker maandmenu, niet goedkoop, weinig smaken. Maar voor 2 personen genoeg.

Empty place without atmosphere, loud kids watching video's and cook/owner eating loudly. It was late but not closed, but they treated the place as it was, quite absurd way to run a business they would be better off offering just takeout. The child ringing me out overcharged me but I did not make a point of it as I wanted to leave that soul-sucking place as soon as I could. Food was edible but not great, fried rice was pretty bad and they charged me E4,50 for a small glass of flat soda. Never again.

Heerlijke maaltijd opgehaald bij dit Chinees restaurant. Super vriendelijke mensen en heerlijk eten! Aanrader.

1é kerstdag eten gehaald, dikke pluim het was heerlijk en vers!

Klein, gezellig chinees-indisch restaurant met een uitgebreide menukaart en tevens is afhaal mogelijk. Zeker genoten van de maaltijd en alles was ook op goede temperatuur en had een goede smaak.

Twee maandmenu's afgehaald. Erg lekker, ruim voldoende voor 6 personen, zeer vriendelijk geholpen.

Standaard afhaalmenu voor jong gezin, maar het was werkelijk verrukkelijk. Radang Roedjak was heerlijk, nog heel in stukken maar viel uiteen zodra je het bestek erin stak en de smaak was geweldig. De Babi Pangang was perfect, lekker zoet-zuur en krokant. Top.

Gewoon goed. Niets op aan te merken.

Een aanrader goed en lekker eten

Een Chinees zoals een Chinees hoort te zijn. Babi pangang lekker knapperig, saté lekker mals en de Bami droog. Toppie. Kom zeker terug.

Eigenaresse is zo vriendelijk en lieff, beste eten en Service... Echt 🤩 vanuit mij in elk geval, zeker een aanrader! zeker om een keer te gaan proeven.. 😋 Proeven is weten🍷eetsmakelijk alvast 🤗🤘
