A wonderful place in Gouda where our three-year-old son had endless fun in the sandbox. Tip: bring your own sand toys, then the fun is complete. A great place with a great price for the shared dinner with meat, vegetarian, and fish dishes. It was delicious and exceeded all expectations. Definitely worth coming back!

We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary on a beautiful summer evening. The BBQ and drinks were perfectly organized, and the service was excellent. Our party was a huge success thanks to the people at Gouwestrand!

This place is clearly not set up for large groups. Everything took far too long. Some still had to eat their main course, while others were eating dessert. Hamburgers were raw inside and cold. Even after this complaint, the hamburgers came back just as raw, which also made several people sick. Other dishes also left much to be desired. And all that for a price that was not insignificant. Dishes on the menu for individual guests are also expensive. In short, bad.

I had never been here before. It is on a large site that I believe used to be a shipyard. Very informal and artistic. I had a date with someone from Gouda and I am glad she suggested this place. The entire site is worth a look but it is all about the catering facilities now. A BBQ was organised for a large group. We were sitting outside chatting but when I looked inside I really felt like joining in the BBQ in this cosy restaurant with its artistic look. The food looked good. Our bitterballen were also delicious with the white wine. We were the only customers sitting outside but were still visited regularly to see if we wanted anything else. The price was really friendly. For 2 teas, 2 wines and a portion of bitterballen they asked something like €22. That deserved to be rounded up to €25. Children can play outside if you bring them.

Nice restaurant in a surprising environment. Small beach nearby which is super fun for kids. The food is tasty and lots of variety, also vegetarian and vegan! Friendly staff.

Service was attentive and accurate. It took some getting used to the layout of the menu. You have to put together your main course yourself. I will definitely come back in the summer, possibly by boat.

Cozy restaurant in an industrial and informal atmosphere. You immediately feel at home in this place upon entering because of the atmosphere and friendly service. You can choose a 3-course or 4-course dinner. If you prefer that, it is also possible to opt for “shared dining” per dish you order. And you can choose only a specific (main) dish. We opted for a 3-course dinner and thought that was enough. I chose Beef Tataki, Cauliflower Kara Age and GOLDasphalt garden for dessert. All dishes that are a taste surprise! Recommended!

Good food in an industrial environment. Uncomplicated atmosphere. The center of Gouda is easy to reach with a small foot ferry. Large parking lot.

Great surprise for us Gouwenaars! Get out of the well-known center and to this place just across the water. Really delicious food, large portions, good price and a very nice vegetarian offering, which I can really recommend. 'This was really good. The carrot tartare and cauliflower tempura and the watermelon sushi are really delicious. Tasty beers and very attentive and observant service. Really great!

September 2024 Nicely hidden just outside the city centre. No worries you can take the boat (€ 1,00) to cross the water. A real nice place constructed partially out of sea containers. Very well priced, reflects in the dishes but nothing wrong at there prices. Little understaffed it seemed, so walk inside for extra order if they don't come to the terrace. Lot of locals, almost a meeting spot. Pretty big and make a reservation if you come for dinner.

Had a delicious meal at Gouwestrand this evening. What a nice place to sit on a beautiful late summer evening. I had flammkuchen de oudwijker and my partner loaded nachos. They were large portions and very tasty.

It was a nice festival, but very expensive.

Nice city beach with ample parking or you can go there with a ferry. Check what time the last ferry ride back to the other side leaves. Tasty and beautifully served food.

This delightful haven is very much a secret spot until you have discovered it. A retro chic container styled restaurant complete with a beach and volleyball court is shouting Summer is here! Dog friendly is a bonus point here too! The menu is interesting and caters for just about everyone. We went for the three dishes per person getting six different appetising dishes for lunch. Wow what a feast for the eyes and tastebuds too.

The location is beautiful but may be out of the way for people. Don't let this stop you from eating here. It's not only fun during the day when the weather is sunny. The terrain is exciting to explore. The view of the Old Town is beautiful and the food exceeded our expectations. We opted for share dishes. It looked beautiful, the prices were great and the food was good. Be sure to try the fried cauliflower and the dish in the photo. A kind of American carrot filet (forgot the name of the dish) This restaurant deserves more guests than there were when we ate here. You can take the ferry until 6 p.m., so take your bike and cycle back. Or come by car. You can easily park here.

Cozy atmosphere and friendly people, food is delicious. We have been sailing past it for years and our tip would be better or more advertising from the water.

Christmas Eve 2023 was celebrated in the Gouwestrand. A delicious 5-course Christmas menu. Nice atmosphere with live music. Even did a little dance! We will definitely be there again Christmas Eve next year!

Met het team van Leenapk wezen eten. Van te voren gevraagd of Bert voor de gelegenheid voor ons spare ribs wou maken. OMG wat was dat lekker, deze meneer kan echt koken. Fijne sfeer, bijzondere biertjes, lekker drankjes top avond gehad.

Mistakes with orders. Menu items served differently.

Geweldig restaurant! Ontzettend fijne sfeer binnen en zeer vriendelijk personeel. Het eten was uitzonderlijk lekker en het shared dining concept is echt een aanrader.

Ik ben dol op deze plek! Het is de perfecte plek om te ontspannen en te genieten van het strandgevoel, zelfs in het binnenland. De sfeer is ontspannen en vrolijk, en het uitzicht op het water is prachtig. Daarnaast heeft Gouwestrand ook een geweldig menu met heerlijke gerechten en verfrissende drankjes. Het is de ideale plek om te genieten van een zonnige dag met vrienden of familie! 🏖️🌞

Beach club style at the river. Nicely done, good and friendly atmosphere. Outside area looked also really fun, but we were there after 2000 in autumn, so no beach lounging. Staff was friendly, but had a limited job responsibility. Talking together and getting the place ready for the next day was more important than serving us. Starters were good, especially the vegan 'bitterballen'. Thereafter all went wrong. We got meaty burgers instead of vegetarian burgers. Fries were fatty and not really baked through, probably the oil was not hot enough. The dish with sweet potatoes and peanut sauce had no sweet potato and no peanut sauce. Fries and a kind of sriracha sauce instead. Complete swamped in fatty sauces, in fact. Asking for the bill was fine, but again we had to go and get the bill as no one would come. Pricy for the quality. Beer selection ok, by the way.

Het eten was heerlijk en ook aardig personeel. Heel gastvriendelijk en een gezellige sfeer.

Voor gezinnen met kleine kinderen perfecte locatie. Er is een strandje gecreëerd waar kinderen kunnen spelen en ouders drankje kunnen drinken en ze tegelijk in de gaten kunnen houden. Hebben binnen gegeten in ongedwongen sfeer. Eten was prima.

Delicious food and such friendly service. It’s a bit of a walk out of town on weekdays but on weekends they have a boat to carry you across the canal.

Hele leuke plek in Gouda. Maakt niet uit of je vegan, vegetariër of vleeseter bent, het is allemaal te krijgen en goed. Leuke sfeer, goede bediening lekkere biertjes op de tap van Oedipus. Ik wil daar graag wonen maar dat mag niet van mijn vrouw.

Zondag avond 21 september hier met 4 personen gegeten. Heerlijk buiten in de zon. Wat is het leuk gewordenen wat een leuke menu kaart. De keuken is helemaal opnieuw ingericht met de nieuwste apparatuur. We hadden alle 4 een ander hoofdgerecht en alle vier heel tevreden over de kwaliteit. Het was heerlijk en de bediening was uiterst vriendelijk en attent. Hele goede prijs kwaliteit verhouding…Jullie zullen ons zeker snel weer terug zien. Chapeau!!

Op een uniek plekje uitkijkend op Gouda, op het Goudse strand aan de IJssel genieten van heerlijk verrassende gerechtjes, die er heel mooi uitzien. Aardige bediening, sympathieke eigenaar, dus een aanrader en niet alleen voor een hapje eten maar ook voor een borreltje! Wij zijn fan!

Nieuwe buren. Een bezoek meer dan waard. Heerlijke gerechten. Ook voor Vega genoeg te kiezen. Mooie smaken. Ze gaan mij hier vaker zien.
