Nicely presented breakfast on comfortable chairs outside on the terrace where you can enjoy a wide view.

A warm welcome, the food is delicious. The service is friendly and excellent. You're also warmly thanked when you leave.

We had drinks here for the first time and had dinner with friends the next day. Delicious bruschetta, schnitzel with pepper sauce, spare ribs, and chicken satay. A bit more pepper sauce could have been served in a small container on the side instead of just a little on top. But all in all, a wonderful cafe with culinary surprises and friendly staff who make you feel immediately welcome. The owner, his wife, and his kids all work here, and they're all super nice. Highly recommended!

The first time I dined at Zwart Goud for my birthday, there were a few drawbacks. I asked the waitress if the spare ribs came with sauces, to which she replied, "Yes, they do." Then, when they were brought, there were no sauces. I ordered regular ribs but got "Korean spare ribs." My husband ordered a steak with fried mushrooms, and he got: with mushroom sauce. My son ordered a cheeseburger without tomato and onion. Three guesses what it had... tomato and onion! 😒 Luckily, the food tasted good.

It is not possible to pay by card! No VISA, no Mastercard! And they don't care! They push me to go to ATM and I wasted 20% of the bill. They didn't want to find any solution. They were not polite.

The food was delicious. The service was three stars, thanks to the three hardworking employees. Another employee was probably from out of town. She probably didn't hear what I said. What a shame.

Great food, vegetarian options are a bit limited but what they serve is tasty.

My daughter was celebrating her birthday and was wearing a "Happy Birthday" button. The staff noticed this and surprised her after dinner with a waffle with strawberries and whipped cream, accompanied by fireworks.

I ordered carpaccio on bread: it was delicious, the bread (with seeds) tasted super fresh. The atmosphere was cozy and the service was great. They even had a chai latte. The only minor drawback: the music was very loud and very loud.

The food was bad, even though no one was there at the time, and the service was terrible. I had to repeatedly ask for the waitress's attention. Very expensive for the poor service and the bad food.

Went to Black Gold for dinner today. It was absolutely delicious. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was great! Definitely deserves 5 stars!

Do not eat here! Yesterday I ordered the Burger Pulled Pork. It tasted a bit strange and was partially cold, partially warm. Not a nice burger. It should have sounded alarm bells. Back in the hotel I had the worst food poisoning I ever had! There goes my weekend...

Late in the afternoon, right up until closing time, we snacked, ate, and enjoyed ourselves. We're looking forward to staying there until 10 p.m. The food, drinks, menu selection, and especially the excellent cup of coffee were all excellent and more than enough. The atmosphere and service were superb. Definitely recommended, and we'd love to come back.

Formerly Bracke, but thankfully now the new Zwarte Goud. We were a group of seven, comfortably seated at a large round table. The decor has changed for the better: more spacious, brighter, and inviting. The service is super friendly, attentive, and flexible. We had a main course of mussels, steak, satay, and spare ribs. All equally delicious and well-prepared. Good portions, very generous but not overwhelming. Highly recommended if you want to eat in a cozy, yet very well-maintained bistro/brasserie.

Update July 2025 I've had the goulash soup several times now, and it was delicious every time. I also tried the smash burger, which I also had nothing to complain about. Update March 2025: The menu today had goulash soup on it. It was very tasty. It'll be on the menu soon. We went here for lunch on Sunday afternoon. It was already pleasantly busy, but there was still plenty of room. The cappuccino is good. There are plenty of tea flavors available. I ordered sweet meat with mayo and "thick" fries. Unfortunately, the thick fries were sold out today. They tasted great. The tuna salad my wife ordered was also excellent, except that it was quite large 😉. The service was very attentive and friendly. We will go back in the future. Update: it's -4 degrees Celsius outside, but nice and warm inside.

The food is excellent, although we did have to wait 25 minutes for a starter, which is a bit long. But definitely recommended. Friendly, well-prepared, and delicious food, so excellent chef and staff.

Very, very mediocre. Few surprising dishes. Here I am not cooked but only warmed up. And that's even bad. Only two varieties of lager/beer on tap. Won't be without reason. The high table in the middle of the restaurant is really funny. This is where the self-proclaimed 'notables' of Heerlen come together. Tracksuit level. Matter of time.....

Been there for an occasional outdoor lunch in a sunny day. Enjoyed the tuna wrap, pulled chicken sandwich and fish&chips. Staff tried their best despite it was very busy

I never write reviews out of spite, but what a ball tent this is! Spontaneously went for lunch today with 6 colleagues during the break. The place was still fairly empty at 12 o'clock. When entering, we asked if there was room for 7 people. Answer: no, but you can sit at the round table. (??) Apparently the 'host' was not comfortable with them. Almost all of us wanted a lunch platter: sandwich with soup and croquette. Because the mustard soup is really unacceptable there, we asked if another soup was allowed. Fortunately, that was allowed. Then the waitress, who was not too friendly, came. We ordered the lunch platter with a different soup. "Uh... that's actually not standard so it's €1.50 extra," she snapped. Fine, although the host had not mentioned that. 10 minutes later she came rushing back: we had to get another soup, because the one we ordered was not there. She mentioned it 10 minutes ago, but fine. Almost an hour later we still didn't have lunch. I asked if they would pack my lunch, because it was taking so long that I would miss my appointment. "No," he snapped, "that's not possible. Then I'll cancel your order." Erm.... fine?? Finally, my colleagues got their lunch around 1 p.m., but they all came back to the office with the message "never again"!!

We had reserved a table on Valentine's Day. The table was decorated very nicely and there was a very cordial atmosphere. Service was very good. We had a delicious meal!

Tried it again and had lunch yesterday. I had the crispy chicken wrap. The wrap itself was made from beets and therefore looked beautiful. Unfortunately, the taste was very disappointing. I had to look for the crispy chicken among the enormous amount of lettuce. There were exactly three pieces of crispy chicken in the wrap. The amount of green food was unpalatable. This made the whole thing soggy, as the lettuce contained a lot of moisture and the refrigerator was cold, had hardly any flavor (no dressing or anything else) and the chicken was crispy and warm. In short, it was not enjoyable. The service was friendly, that's for sure. When I indicated to the waiter that the amount of lettuce was really overdone, she nodded in agreement and said she would pass it on to the kitchen. In the photo the lettuce that came out of the wrap was left over, I had already eaten a lot of this lettuce. My partner had the club sandwich, which was decent. He thought the bread was dry and the sauce was too poor. Too bad, we used to love coming here. Unfortunately, the quality is disappointing for the price.

Enjoyed lunch here with my wife this afternoon. It was the first time for me. About time because I had not yet visited my most favorite host in the catering industry (Ken F.). Delicious lunch and great to see Ken again. I will definitely eat here again soon and then I will definitely taste the specialty beer from Geleen. Greetings René

A lot has changed in this grand café since Bracke left this building. Full of anticipation, I had a snack and a drink in good company. The dishes we were served were not photo worthy. The taste was okay, the presentation could receive more attention. I miss the inspiration in both the business and the food. By the way, I was shocked by the price for a small bottle of apple juice: €3.90 For me this was a one-time visit in this setting.

Spare ribs were cold but quickly resolved. Taste was delicious. Spaghetti scampi tasted delicious, but the portion seemed like a child's portion. Was served in a bowl. Was way too little for that price. Coincidentally, I was in town a few days later and had a nice conversation with the owner.

The former Brasserie Bracke is now called Zwarte Goud van Heerlen. A passionate owner wants to please the guests and does so with verve, assisted by the young, sometimes somewhat awkward, staff. It's great that this traditional restaurant remains a household name in Heerlen.

My girlfriend and I had dinner here for the first time today and it was also the last time. The service is not service-oriented at all: we had to wait almost an hour for two traditional sandwiches and we were not once asked if we wanted something to drink, while every ten minutes they came to say that "the food will arrive shortly." ". The salmon seemed raw even though the menu said it was smoked, the bread was bone dry and there was more lettuce on the artisan sandwich than there were wild mushrooms on it. So not recommended.

Vanavond gegeten, fijn dat je ook nog lunch kan bestellen in de avond. Ik had vlees lunch plankje, dit was voldoende lekker aspergesoep erbij en vers brood. Mijn zoon had steak, deze was goed bereid en goed op smaak. Goede kwaliteit friet en echte mayonaise ipv frietsaus. Mijn man had vegetarische chili ook deze was lekker. Mijn zoontje had een kinder borrel plankje ook fijn dat je dit kan bestellen. Vriendelijke ober al met al een aangename verrassing!

Lunch aanvaardbaar, niet WoW. Maar ik vroeg een Duvel (stond op kaart). Kreeg echter een Duvel 666. Sorry, maar dat is geen Duvel. Is gewoon een pils. Maar de prijs tartte elke verbeelding... 5.75€! Voor mij is dit onaanvaardbaar. Voor een originele Duvel is dit al zeer prijzig, maar voor een 666!!! Sorry, Ik mis Café Bracke...

Gezellig geborreld vanmiddag. Mooie zaak!

Helaas.. Vroeger bekend onder de naam 'Café Bracke' vandaag tóch eens geprobeerd voor de lunch maar helaas komen wij hier niet meer terug. Wij zijn niet de meest moeilijke personen maar: - Groot deel personeel was jong en kwam ongemotiveerd over. - Wij hadden o.a. een tosti ham/kaas: deze was van binnen nog koud en van buiten leek het alsof hij alleen in de zon had gelegen zo wit. - Tevens 2 rundvleeskroketten; de hoeveelheid brood was één plakje, doormidden gesneden. amper genoeg voor 1 kroket laat staan voor 2. voor 9,50 verwacht ik op zijn minst wel wat meer brood erbij en de salade kon je in 1 hap naar binnen werken (was dan wél weer goed van smaak dankzij de zilveruitjes). ik geloof niet in 1-ster reviews, daarom 2 voor 'de moeite' en dat de kroketten an sich wel warm en lekker waren.

Mooie zaak toppertje in Heerlen
