We had dinner at Babbels today with 9 people. What a great atmosphere, delicious food, and definitely good value for money! Every single dish was delicious and beautifully presented! The staff is super friendly, quick, and polite. The only real downside is that you don't know what to choose because there are so many tasty things on the menu. All the more reason to come back and try something else delicious. Highly recommended!

Affordable and nice, personal service

In the center of Schiedam, I visited this truly charming place, ideal for relaxing thanks to the outdoor tables with a beautiful view of the canal and the low-volume background music, perfect for a pleasant conversation. The service was impeccable: attentive, always helpful, and very courteous staff. I ordered a medium beer and some bitterballen. The beer was excellent, but the bitterballen, while good, seemed a bit too industrial or frozen compared to the decidedly more flavorful and artisanal ones I'd tried elsewhere in recent days. Overall, it remains a perfect place to enjoy a quiet drink, although the food could be a little better.

Unfortunately, we were asked to leave a table that was supposedly reserved. When I asked why there was no sign, the waitress replied that they were out of signs. A very strange way to treat customers. Thanks, but never again.

Food good. Service bad. Friendly staff though. The main course arrived after an hour and a half. Otherwise, everything took a very long time. They also brought the wrong dish. The whipped cream with the dessert was of very poor quality, very watery.

Had lunch here for the first time. We initially wanted to sit on a bench, but when I sat down, about 10 moth-like flies emerged from the cushions. Later, we sat at a small table, and the chair was so wobbly due to the pebbles that I kept thinking I was going to fall. With the Italian fries, all the fries were smothered in truffle sauce, which I can't stand. Truffle makes me nauseous, and it wasn't stated on the menu that this sauce was on them. I like all sauces except that one. I wanted new fries, but she gave me an angry look. So I just kept them, and my date ate them with the sauce, but really, I am never going there again.

We had a wonderful meal at Babbels last night. We came here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and the staff congratulated us very warmly. The service was superb, and our waiter in particular (I've forgotten his name) was fantastic. We had three courses and all three were equally delicious; compliments to Babbels for an unforgettable evening!

When I have something to celebrate with friends, I ALWAYS think of Babbels first. It's easy to get to on public transportation, the menu is varied, superb quality and the portions are generous. All of the servers are friendly and attentive, while knowing how to let the party relax and converse. I really do feel "at home" at Babbels.

We had a delicious meal in a relaxed atmosphere with excellent value for money, but it was particularly special due to the hospitable and enthusiastic service; we will definitely return here when we are in Schiedam again.

We had a delicious meal; we did miss a bit of vegetables with the food, but otherwise everything was perfectly fine. When making the reservation, I asked if they had fresh fruit for dessert due to my diabetes. It's not on the menu, but it was specially arranged, which I thought was really great! The service was super friendly and everything ran smoothly.

We had a reservation for 6:30 PM on Saturday evening; it was reasonably busy. Our drinks were brought quickly. However, it took until almost 8:00 PM before our dishes were served. We inquired several times. The food was good, roasted a bit hastily, but okay. As compensation, we received a complimentary drink and one dessert because the ice cream was too cold (my husband was eating it with his spoon). We paid the bill around 9:00 PM. The wine (Primitivo) was delicious, and the beer from the Stadshaven Brewery tasted very good too (highly recommended!). It's a shame about the long wait, but we think it was too busy and there was a shortage of staff serving. We will come back again, but not on Saturday evenings anymore :)

We have often eaten here with pleasure, but not this time. We were seated close to the bar at the high tables, which were very busy and noisy. We had to ask for everything: the menu, to order, the bill. They didn't seem to take notice of us. A no-nonsense establishment. A striking, well-balanced menu with delicious traditional (café) dishes at reasonable prices and generous portions. Very attentive, friendly, and professional service. Inside are high tables, in the conservatory there are low tables, and adjacent is a lovely, large terrace. I think it's also very suitable for (small) groups (10-20 people). We think this is a great place to enjoy a carefree meal and will definitely be back.

We've driven past it many times and finally went in and had a delicious meal. Very friendly service, excellent menu, nice atmosphere, decor, and the food was delicious! We started with bread and spreads. Simply delicious. My husband then chose spareribs with ketjap sauce and I chose sole. I tried both, and they were very good! For dessert, I had a panna cotta, which was also very delicious. The red fruit coulis was excellent! Because licking it clean is a bit strange, I decided against it. In short, we will definitely be back!

Had to ask for the menu myself. Beef tataki starter was dry. I asked for medium-rare sirloin steak, but unfortunately, it was medium and dry. The red wine sauce was cream sauce. I mentioned it to the waitress, and she came back with a strange story that it was creamy red wine sauce. My husband had mushrooms with bread. Barely seasoned (tasteless) and undercooked. Main course satay...hmmm, satay sauce was good. Not good chefs!! Deliberately skipped dessert! This is a subpar restaurant!! And we should know, since we eat out a lot! I give it a meager 6. €82.50, way too much for it.

We were invited by my sister to have dinner here. Passed by so many times I saw the place but never went there, we were very surprised about the ambiance and the friendly staff. The food was good we all had steak and fries, overall a good place to have a decent dinner. Forsure in the summer time when your able to sit outside it's wounderfull there.

A very unique red wine sauce... Come on, Babbels! The atmosphere was great, the food was delicious, and the wine recommendation was good, but don't be silly and say the red wine sauce is very creamy and the color of mushrooms... Everyone makes mistakes, and that happens, but take responsibility.

We ate here last night with eight friends. The atmosphere was wonderfully relaxed and the service was friendly and fast. The steak with gravy was delicious. The satay looked fantastic and tasted great, according to reports. One of us ordered fries and stew, which was unfortunately disappointing (the meat was dry and burnt). Still, compliments to the chef for the other dishes.

Excellent chicken satay, with excellent bread with spreads and prawns as a starter. The price-quality ratio is steep; for two people, each with three beers, it cost over €100.
