The service was very friendly and attentive. We had a birthday celebrant among us, and they handled it nicely.

Had a delicious meal. Highly recommended! Also the friendly and very patient table staff. We changed tables 3 times due to the bright sun and heat... Eventually we got inside. Everything was arranged perfectly!

Great location, food partly good: salad with fish. Less good: 2 croquettes on bread: not tasty. Servube: less good. For instance, the bread basket and the like were not cleared away after they were finished. The lunch placemats were just crumpled past them. We had to ask for them to take it away; the table was probably not very big to begin with. Furthermore, the (young) staff paid more attention to acquaintances (frequently making small talk) than to customers who wanted to order something. That could be improved.

Nice terrace on the boulevard/Waalkade. The tables are quite close together, so it is sometimes difficult to block out the conversations at adjacent tables.

The food was very tasty, but I found the service a bit lacking; a few things were forgotten, it takes quite a while to order your second drink, and not everyone gets their food at the same time. Something I find very important when going out for dinner. Beautiful building, well-decorated, nice place. It is recommended for the food, though perhaps mention in advance that you want to eat at the same time.

Judging by the responses to some reviews, the owner doesn't like whiners 😂 Fortunately, we were more than satisfied! 👌

Unfortunately, our experience wasn't great. The drinks were very expensive and small. After ordering them, no waiters came by for a while. After a long wait, we were finally able to order food, but then had to wait even longer for it—over an hour in total. The restaurant wasn't even very busy at the time. We all felt it a bit, especially in the heat. Without food, it's obviously even worse. Still, it's a nice restaurant, though.

We had a fantastic evening. Delicious food, friendly staff, and an atmospheric location. We enjoyed it!

We had a delicious meal at De Verdraagzaamheid in Zaltbommel. The mussels were excellently prepared and highly recommended. Despite it being very busy and the temperature rising, the staff remained friendly, attentive, and surprisingly quick. You can tell they are working hard without compromising on service. Additionally, the location by the water is, of course, a major plus. A beautiful view, a relaxed atmosphere, and excellent value for money make this a place you will want to return to. As far as I'm concerned, I could easily eat here ten more times this week. Absolutely recommended if you are in Zaltbommel.

I couldn’t rate this place high enough - the service was super attentive, food was great and we had a really enjoyable Sunday meal with a big group!

The only reason Food gets 4 stars instead of 5 is because one person at our table was disappointed the crispy chicken wrap was actually a heavily coated and fried chicken, reminding her of KFC (which she doesn't like). She was unaware (and so was I, actually) that crispy here means coated fried chicken.....our fault. Other wise all other person's dishes were outstanding and generous, including my salad. Great place, beautiful view, great service, amazing ambience.

We had a delicious meal; lovely dishes that all looked equally beautiful and flavorful. Cozy outdoor terrace where we enjoyed a lovely meal with friends. Friendly staff. The waiting time between courses was just right. Not too rushed and not too long. One small downside: the grey (old) terrace chairs aren't very comfortable. Definitely worth a repeat visit.

Not worth going back to. Waiters who don't seem to see the point of their job. Often pushy about getting you to drink as much as possible, too. Small portions. Also, the neighbors next to us were practically sitting on our laps, and we could hear all their conversations. We were sitting outside on the terrace. The lady insisted on sitting next to her table companion instead of across from them, which is ultimately not the intention.

We came to Zaltbommel specifically for De Verdraagzaamheid, which was known for its good coffee. Good memories from 25 years ago. So, a long time ago. And if it's good now too, we'll have a drink and a bite to eat. Unfortunately, it started off with a miss. The service was actually not good, perhaps even quite bad. One young lady was so unsuitable for the job due to her wrong attitude and lack of interest that we quickly drew our conclusions. We got out of here quickly, after tasting one cappuccino. That one was mediocre too. No reason to come back here anytime soon.

To the owner: halve the outdoor terrace; this is simply unmanageable for the kitchen and staff. Great look and good atmosphere. Have been coming here for about 10 years.

Regular customer because it's usually good, but yesterday my dining companion and I both suffered from digestive problems afterwards after eating a salmon bagel :-(.

We went on a Tuesday evening with 8 people. It was quite noisy in the area near the bar. We enjoyed our meal, however, we did miss some vegetables or salad. With 8 people, we received 3 small bowls of fries; we ordered an extra portion for which we had to pay €6.50, which I find a shame.

We are used to better at Tolerance.

For us, De Verdraagzaamheid is a lovely place to have lunch or drinks. The location on the Waalkade is beautiful, with a lovely view of the river and a cozy atmosphere in the center of Zaltbommel. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the prices are great for what you get. The menu is varied, and there is plenty of choice for a tasty lunch or drinks. Just a small tip: pay close attention to the receipt and whether the order is complete. There is a lot of young staff working there, and as a result, things occasionally go wrong. That is somewhat to be expected in a busy establishment, but it is good to double-check. Nevertheless, it is a very pleasant place with a good atmosphere where we enjoy returning.

Highly recommended! We were looking for a nice spot to eat on Saturday evening. The city center seemed so deserted, but luckily we found De Verdraagzaamheid! Super service, a nice warm atmosphere, delicious food. Truly fantastic, tasty, and good. Great prices. We stayed a bit longer, 4 drinks per person, a bread roll, a main course, and a dessert. Comfortable seating, super friendly staff, and despite the crowds due to the marathon, the staff were very attentive and the food was served quickly. It was delicious. Nice place to eat and drink with 2 rooms to the left/right of the central hall, on the quay. Prompt service. Restrooms in the basement are good but need a bit of maintenance. Cozy atmosphere and layout. Dishes and menu solid without unnecessary pretensions. A lovely place to spend time on the terrace in the sun.

The food was good but not outstanding. The prices were quite high. The service was attentive and helpful. We weren't particularly impressed with the ambiance. It's very dark, perfect for a funeral parlor. The background music was quite loud throughout.

We dined at De Verdraagzaamheid again after a long time. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality and flavors of the various dishes. The plates were beautifully presented, and everything looked well-presented, attractive, and delicious. We found the service a bit pushy, though we probably didn't mean it that way. Three or four different people at your table came one after the other to ask if you'd like another drink, if you liked it, and if you'd like to see the dessert menu. That was a bit much. As far as we're concerned, the only point of improvement. Otherwise, the atmosphere is pleasant, with a cozy atmosphere, plenty of privacy, and pleasant background music.

I'd like to share my positive experience with the restaurant I recently visited. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff. The atmosphere in the restaurant was cozy and inviting, which immediately put us at ease. Unfortunately, we have to mention that part of the menu (the Wild Game Menu) was unavailable on the evening we visited. This was somewhat disappointing, as we had come specifically for it. The rest of the menu offered a variety of delicious dishes, from which we had a hard time choosing. The dishes we ultimately ordered were beautifully presented and tasted exquisite. The chef clearly pays close attention to the quality of the ingredients and the preparation of the dishes. All in all, our experience at this restaurant was positive, and we can definitely recommend it to others looking for a nice place to eat with good food and a cozy atmosphere. We look forward to returning in the future.

Beautiful location and good food. Some of the waitstaff weren't very friendly; food was brought to the table without a word, and they leaned over guests to pass plates. The restroom wasn't clean either; after we reported it, it turned out nothing had been done about it.

A cozy and atmospheric restaurant, beautifully decorated, and with very attentive and friendly service. The starter (steak tartare) was delicious. I found the vegetable tart a bit bland/boring. The apple crumble was tasty, but unfortunately, I didn't think it was worth the price. I'd like to give it 3.5 stars, but I had to choose between 3 and 4.

Beautiful restaurant, although we would have preferred a river view. The food was very good and plentiful. I'm not a big eater myself and asked if it was possible to have just one croquette on sourdough bread instead of two. No problem at all. During our hour and a half there, I noticed that the Burgundian croquettes are often restocked. They were also very tasty, as were the chicken wraps. Fresh orange juice and a good cappuccino. The price/quality ratio is excellent. Friendly staff.

We enjoyed a delicious dinner here with former classmates from 60 years ago. You have to create the atmosphere yourself, and with 11 people gathered at a long table, it was incredibly convivial. This was due in no small part to the excellent service, but certainly also to the delicious meals we were served. It wasn't the first time the former classmates had been here. But this time, especially for us from Bali, it was a wonderful and beautiful ending to a day-long reunion.
