Very nice building the staff is friendly and will help you the ambiance is very nice the coffee is also good! Recently went to eat with my father, highly recommended also very nice view over the Waal, Anthony and Vivian we will definitely come back this is one of my favorite places in Zaltbommel! High Sharing Eastern was vandaag een groot succes. We hebben heerlijk gegeten van de 3 soorten luxe wraps, sandwich met geitenkaas en tonijnsalade, gevulde eieren, de Paasstol, sandwich krokante kip, minibroodje bitterbal, en saté van kippendijfilet. En als dessert nog een heerlijke pavlova met vers rood fruit. Vanavond hoef ik niet te eten ! En gaan we nog wel een keer doen 👍🏻

Samen met een vriendin die in Utrecht woont halfweg afgesproken we kwamen uit bij de jullie. Erg gezellige brasserie. Leuke bediening en heerlijk geluncht.

Enjoy a delicious cup of coffee here with a pastry. Pastries were shared (on the advice of the waiter) so that we could each taste what the other had ordered. You sit here comfortably and have a beautiful view over the Waal. If you can sit on the spacious terrace when the weather is nice, you will have an even better time.

Delicious soft ice cream with nuts

Boring and expensive food. Little flavor and lots of ready-made garnish for the nachos and chewy poffertjes with little powdered sugar. Old-fashioned beer list with lager, grimbergen, chouffe,... you know the drill. Too bad, basically a nice place with potential, but could be a bit more with the times in terms of menu and better quality or cheaper prices. Addition: Prices may be higher everywhere, but perhaps slightly more fresh products, especially the guacamole had no taste and the white sauce did not resemble creme fraise. A jalapeno pepper wouldn't have gone amiss and some more cheese... In terms of beers, there really is enough to be found. Isn't there a local brewery in the region? Or else from Den Bosch, Utrecht or elsewhere in the Netherlands; Kromme Haring, Vandestreek, Jopen, Uiltje, Oedipus, Van Moll,... that kind of thing. And I see that Zaltbommel has a city brewery, they put it on tap (if it is of good quality)!

Need some 'tolerance'? Come here! This location has it all! In the meantime, don't forget to enjoy the view!

The service was super nice. Only I forgot to say that my diamond hare was lukewarm. I forgot to say it, but I don't think it's possible. Especially considering the price.

Nice, attractive restaurant in a beautiful location with good price/quality ratio with an extensive menu and is also suitable for multiple purposes. We had dinner here on a Tuesday evening with 2 adults and a little one of 4. We were friendly, correct and helped as desired and the food was delicious! It was nice that there was something different on the children's menu for our little man than the standard fries with chicken nuggets => he enjoyed the poffertjes! We had a nice evening with delicious food in a cozy restaurant, so we definitely recommend it! In the summer a beautiful place to sit on the terrace for a drink and a snack with a view of the Waal.. :) There is parking on the ferry road; Depending on the time of day, this can mean paid parking, but this was not the case for us. If it is paid parking, it is less than 0.84 cents per hour. P.s.: the soup in the photos is the tomato soup for children ;)

Good food, very nice atmosphere. Large building, yet very comfortably furnished. Good value for money, so you can still eat well for little money. For a Wednesday afternoon, it's nice to have some people inside so you're not alone

Beautiful location. A real Grand Café with an atmospheric atmosphere. Price quality excellent. Service smooth but very businesslike. Missed the Brabant atmosphere a bit. But if you're not looking for that, highly recommended

Update 13-12-2024: The Bossche Bol was delicious again. Unfortunately the nachos were disappointing. 12 Euro for a portion with a meager layer of topping on a container of dry "chips" can never be the intention. Noblesse oblige. Unfortunately, the owner didn't understand this. Points off for disappointing hospitality. Hopefully better next time. Previous review: According to tradition, we visit this restaurant on the way back from holiday. Stylish and attractive interior, hospitable staff. Beautiful location on the water. Fortunately, a restaurant with really tasty espresso. Tastes good with the chocolate ball. Next time again, tradition.

A cozy place where you can eat well and even have a full evening's entertainment. Just a nice evening out with a wide choice of food, a suitable snack and a closing event. I will probably go there again myself.

Everything is well and good, but they always clean the right side of the restaurant at 9:00 PM, these are the nicest seats, at least it is not so busy there. So you are actually forced to leave your place or pay. Not very hospitable 🙂

Beautiful restaurant in a beautiful building on the quay. Good kitchen, friendly service, attractive, chic furnishings. Few fries (1 bowl for 3 pp) and no bowl of lettuce or vegetables, but that's about it.

I used to always have lunch on the way to Limburg at the Toraagbaarheid in Zaltbommel. Honoring tradition last Friday with Chantal and Pim van Roozendaal. It was delicious again. Joke van Doornik Truijens

Beautiful Cafe with a lot of history

Mooie locatie en leuke inrichting. Het eten was vreselijk slecht. Smaakte totaal niet en was zeer ongezellig op het bord gepresenteerd, leek wel of het er was afgevallen en weer terug gelegd

I've been here a few times with my nieces, a nice place to catch up and have something tasty to eat and drink in the meantime, portions are quite large and always taste just as good. You can easily park your car in the area, we come from different regions in the Netherlands and this place is within 1.5 hours drive for all of us, we will hopefully come here often.

Very disappointing experience. Upon entering we were asked not to sit in a certain section because 'business' people were having drinks there. When I asked if that section was reserved, it turned out not to be. This felt very rude and not hospitable at all. In addition, the food was disappointing: the prices are high, but the quality seems cheap. Definitely not recommended and certainly not worth repeating for us! Actually, we should have left immediately after we were not treated hospitably upon arrival.

Order was hamburger medium rare… Leek nergens op zoute hap met veel teveel peper… en bij afrekenen vroeg de bediening of alles in orde was… ( zag het bord ) de frietjes opgegeten en de burger na 2 happen laten staan.., commentaar bediening .. na commentaar dat de burger niet okee was… ik zal het doorgeven … geen excuses, geen kan ik u wat anders brengen…,pinnen ?? Zeker geen aanrader. Niet doen… personeel onbekwaam… zondaghulpjes.

I especially go for the coupe caramel 😄 But the food is also delicious. Nice place friendly staff. What more could you want? Until next time.

The carpaccio sandwich is highly recommended

Food: It was rather disappointing to order a goat cheese salad and to get a salad with 3 slices of strips of ham and only tiny balls of goat cheese. The lettuce was fine. Rucola and 2 different types of lettuce. But the goat cheese was hiding and hard to find. Service: We were seated but they did not seem to be accommodating or helpful for my friend who has muscular degenerative disease and walks with a walker . They put us in a corner with 2 tables closing us in and when we had to go to the restroom , we had to squeeze by these chairs. My friend nearly tripped but wow...nobody seemed to care. We were kept waiting quite a while just to get menus and then the young ladies kept walking past us when we were waiting to order at least 20 minutes. I even saw one blond girl look our direction but when my friend waved her down, she said oddly enough, "I didn't see you had menu's, sorry." Then, the coffee was brought but no sugar. Hmmmm. It was altogether not that great especially since the place is popular and well-located in Zaltbommel center on the riverfront. Atmosphere: Nice to experience typical Dutch Cafe Restaurant with some history. However, the food and service needs to improve.

Got sick from the mussels yesterday. Ordered mussels together with the table. His looked different and tasted different. Got very ill during the night. We were only asked once if we wanted something to drink. So main course spent without drinks. Plenty of staff walked by.

Nice service, but the dish of the day (fish) was clearly reheated and therefore not freshly prepared. With the prices they charge, you can really expect more!

A beautiful restaurant overlooking the water. It is a very nice restaurant well finished. With a lot of atmosphere. It is not just a restaurant but has multiple purposes, such as party location receptions, etc. The food was delicious and the staff was polite and friendly. Thinking along with you. Delicious Latte macchiato drunk on the terrace

The food was great. I had the Classic burger and it was Phenominal. Crispy bun and a good burger. The service was also very nice. Just very pricey.

I have been to Tolerability several times with varying experiences regarding the willingness to make something delicious vegan for me. That's a shame because I think it's a great business in a prime location and you can't keep closing your eyes to it as an entrepreneur: the world is (fortunately) becoming more plant-based. The last time I met a wonderful employee, a vegetarian herself, who put in a lot of effort to have something tasty made for me and the result was delicious! A delicious salad with a tasty vegan meat substitute, generously filled (special, not standard) and served with fries. As far as I'm concerned, it should be on the menu! That would be nice and, for example, 1 vegan snack. Response to owner's reply: Thanks for the response, I already understood that the chef(s) don't really feel like it. But who is/are employed by, right? If the menu had 1 vegan option per category (which is no more than normal in 2024), it would not be an extra wish. I have now experienced several times that it is difficult, even though your menu states 'do you have an allergy or dietary requirement....' Vegan food is a mental allergy to animal products 😉

0.5L Beer - 10.50€. No salt & pepper on the table. Service very careless.

Top Satay and delicious vegetarian lasagna

Received quickly and drinks were taken straight away. Then after waiting half an hour I asked for the dinner menu. When the food came to the table we received spare ribs instead of the ordered satay. This was quickly corrected and we still received the correct dishes.

De bediening was erg goed. Gastvrij en professioneel. Goede kaart met erg lekkere, verse gerechten. De salade met tonijn is aan te bevelen. Ook de ambiance mag er zijn. Stijlvol aangekleed, goede klimaatbeheersing en akoestiek.

Reasonable terrace to relax for a while. Very busy. When two pigeons wander between the tables, the oldest serving woman snarls at guests at the neighboring table that it is undesirable for a piece of bread to be thrown to the pigeons. The fact that this is undesirable can also be stated in another way.

Very warm welcome and service, good value for money

We had a delicious meal at this restaurant. Upon arrival we were kindly received and we were able to order immediately. I chose the tagliatelle with tenderloin tips, while my father took the diamond tenderloin. The meat was excellent: wonderfully tender and soft, truly a culinary experience. The tagliatelle was perfectly cooked and went great with the rich sauce and juicy tenderloin tips. My father's diamond tenderloin was so tender that it almost melted in the mouth. We paid €62 for our dinner, which included two drinks per person. The restaurant itself is very attractive, with a warm and inviting ambiance. The furnishings are stylish and contribute to the cozy atmosphere. The staff were very attentive and friendly, which made our experience even more enjoyable. I would definitely eat here again and recommend the restaurant to others.

The food was good, but the redfish had a bit of a bland taste. I missed some herbs or a suitable sauce. The Pinot Grigio was very tasty.

Vandaag een high tea gehad, mooie locatie! Van de high tea wel wat meer verwacht voor de prijs van €29,50 p.p. Nauwelijks uitleg bij het eten en niet heel creatief met de hapjes. ( weinig zelfgemaakt) het was wel voldoende. Thee water werd niet automatisch aangevuld, na een uur er zelf om moeten vragen. Kortom, het was oké lekker maar niet fantastisch.

Just got ice cream. I hear one boy say to the other. Keep the ice cream cups low, otherwise too much ice will go in. So I say, laughing, wait a minute, some good ice cream. So we have 2 giant cups, guess what, we're eating them in the car. Are they half empty?!!! What a rip off. 2.50 for a half empty giant cup of ice cream. This way I can also sell ice cream.

Went for dinner again, and I have to say; I had a lovely meal. Good service, beautifully laid out plate and delicious dishes! And I'm happy to see that fries are included with the dish these days. Unfortunately we came home from a rude awakening. Let's start by saying that the food was tasty. Well prepared and beautiful presentation. Then I am certainly willing to pay for the food. But to then pay €3.50 for a scoop of pepper sauce and €4.50 for a basket of (normal) fries (in addition to €31.50 for surf and turf) I think is a bit excessive. Once again, good food costs money. And of course everything will become more expensive, but because of these prices we will only stick to a drink and a snack from now on.

It was a bit disappointing. But I had contact with the owner who explained some things, which made us look at it differently. We will definitely try it there again.

Had a drink on the terrace. It was busy, but what do you expect on a sunny Mother's Day. We could wait on a kind of waiting bench until there was room on the terrace. We were already served here. Great solution!

Voorgerechten waren lekker (taartje van schaaldieren en Peking eend), maar dit werd helaas tegelijk opgediend met t entree-hapje (sushi-rol). Dit zagen we ook bij andere tafels gebeuren. Het hoofdgerecht liet lang op zich wachten. Er was kennelijk vergeten om door te geven dat we wilden eten. Mogelijk te wijten aan de wisselende tafelbediening. Vervolgens werd de tafel niet afgeruimd en toen waren we er klaar mee. Koffie, thee, rekening en wegwezen. Toen we dit aangaven, werden we vriendelijk te woord gestaan, er was begrip en excuses werden gemaakt.

Had lunch here on a rainy afternoon. The Grand Café is located on the quay and on the terrace you have a beautiful view of the Waal. The Grand Café looks neat on the inside and the service is friendly. There is an extensive menu. We had a bouncer and a savory waffle with salmon, both of which were richly topped. The drinks menu also looked good!

Pleasant welcome by friendly owner. Well organized Easter brunch used. Only for the children it could have been a little more child-oriented in terms of food. Dessert, for example, was way too big for children. But overall well organized and executed. Compliments to the staff.

Sat on the terrace for coffee and apple pie. Fine. Checking out was complicated: no employee outside, so we went inside: "Which table were you at?" No idea, should I know? While I did see that the employee had a receipt in her hand when she brought the order. Give the customer a receipt, solve the payment problem if there are too few staff.

Gelunch met een oudklasgenoot bij de Verdraagzaamheid, omdat we beiden van oorsprong uit Zaltbommel komen. De sfeer van het restaurant is gemoedelijk en het personeel is attent. Het bruinbrood met de bourgondische kroketten was heerlijk dus genoten van een prima lunch.

Personally, I think this is one of the most beautiful places in Bommel, as far as catering is concerned, wonderful to sit on the terrace on a sunny day and just watch the world go by.

Had a good experience with lunch for a group of 7 people. The staff was very friendly and The service was well maintained, even with our relatively large group: we were regularly asked if we wanted something to drink, empty glasses were quickly taken away, etc. There was a wide variety of drinks available, served with different matching glasses and garnishes. There was also a varied, wide choice for food. A good combination of tasty and quite healthy: enjoyable, but not completely irresponsible. The presentation of the dishes was nice; a nice extra. The food was above all of high quality and tasty. However, it was somewhat noisy inside due to the relatively loud music in combination with the many guests. The location of the restaurant is also certainly a plus: close to the Waal and the historic center, with several parking options nearby. The terrace is also highly recommended in the summer. The prices are slightly higher than average, especially for the drinks, but you get what you pay for. All in all, this place is highly recommended for those looking for a casual chic lunch spot.

Fraaie locatie, direct aan de Waal. Sfeervolle inrichting en vriendelijk te woord gestaan. Een royale kaart met voor ieder wat wils. Ook vegetarisch. Een puntje van aandacht vind ik dat tijdens de lunch enkele van ons een soep en een gerecht bestelden beide tegelijk werden opgediend. Dus een kop (heerlijke) soep samen met de kroketten met brood. Niet handig nog gebruikelijk. De volgende keer zullen we het los van elkaar bestellen. Verder prima gegeten.

Erg populaire plek en dat verbaast mij niet. Smakelijk en verzorgd uitziende borden met gezellige bediening waar het goed toeven is. Al jaren mijn vaste lunchplek als ik in Zaltbommel ben.

Gezellig modern café dat uitkijkt over de Waal, wij hebben er een biertje gedronken en die waren koud en de service warm.

Redelijke prijs/kwaliteit is redelijk. Boven gemiddelde kwaliteit. Zeker voor Nederlandse begrippen.
