Cozy restaurant in a lovely village. Large terrace, although we sat inside. Nice decor. Attentive service. It was busy; they work hard. We didn't have to wait long for the food (two courses). I regret ordering a half portion of soup. In hindsight, I should have taken the whole one, because that soup tasted delicious. If we are ever in the area again, this is definitely a place to remember.

Nice place, terrible service. Nobody on the terrace, you aren't made to feel welcome, and when I ask if I can order, I'm told: "I'll be with you in a moment," even though there are two people sitting on the terrace. A little warmth and feeling welcome costs nothing and works wonders.

We had a simple but delicious lunch this afternoon, princely croquettes and, of course, the Bal Warmond Royal as always. Els served us personally with her extremely friendly approach, as if we were old friends. We felt very welcome.

As a family, we thoroughly enjoyed the delicious food, the wonderful ambiance, and above all, the service. Following the funeral of our dear mother, we were able to enjoy this with 17 people. The loving atmosphere was felt not only at the table but also all around us. Jordy, hats off to you!! You had everything under control and it ran like clockwork. Thanks to your care, there was no sadness for a moment, but a toast to life. Thank you all!!!

My husband had his arm in a sling. The staff helped figure out how we could eat the dishes we had ordered. With an extra plate and the dinner plate on top of it, it worked out.

A very charming place. I went there with a colleague for dinner and we both took the double smash burger they were offering when we went there (it was seasonal and not on the menu), and it was not only good but also huge! I wasn't expecting it to be this tall. It came with fries that were also quite good and I took some beer that was decent. Otherwise the location is very pretty, in an old school that has been reshaped into a restaurant, I really liked it. The place was rather calm which was welcome after a day of work, and the staff was very attentive to our needs. I recommend!

On Friday, May 1, 2026, I made a reservation once again for the weekly changing Old School Meal (OSM). Due to the asparagus season, I had a half portion of asparagus soup (with salmon) prior to the OSM. The OSM itself this time was a dish with picanha (rump steak, veal). A tender piece of meat prepared medium rare, served sliced. For dessert, I had one of the homemade 'desserts' presented in small glasses: a refreshing white variation on Tiramisu with apple compote, among other ingredients. Surprisingly tasty.

It was cozy at the Oude School again, just like old times, and we had a delicious meal. A quiet corner was chosen for our dog, which is very nice. The service was top-notch again!

My girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed the delicious lunch! The dog was also allowed inside, and there was a water pump for her outside. I think the music could be turned down a bit.....

First, I waited 20 minutes on the patio for service. Finally, I went inside to have an order taken. Then, a waitress told me, without hesitation, that they were too busy inside and therefore couldn't take orders from the patio. And then she was gone again. If you can't handle it, just keep your patio closed, or put up a sign saying "temporarily closed due to busyness." That way, your customers at least know what to expect.

It was wonderful once again to eat at this atmospheric restaurant in our village, with a team that did everything to make us feel welcome. Friendly welcome, pleasant interaction, very thoughtful (offering water during a coughing fit), enthusiastic recommendations of dishes, and delicious old-fashioned nasi. Super! The question 'was everything to your liking?' reminded us of a couple getting into a blazing row in a restaurant. To which the woman, in tears, replied: "No! I want another man!" Fortunately, that was not the case with us, and we could answer with a resounding 'yes' :-) Love from Liduina and Henk

Delicious lunch. A tasty soup starter (garlic spring onion soup and mushroom truffle soup) with delicious bread. The main course was fish (smoked salmon, eel, and mackerel salad with toasted bread and a Warmondse balburger sandwich; highly recommended!). A glass of Merlot accompanied it, with nice music in the background and a great atmosphere.

A truly fantastic evening! A cozy, welcoming atmosphere and the best vegetarian satay ever! They also have an extensive menu with lots of delicious things, so you'll definitely need to be able to handle the stress of choosing 😊 We'll definitely be back!

Always pleasant, tasty and good price-quality ratio and that is why it has been our favorite for many years.

We had a great meal in a pleasant atmosphere and with a nice decor. Friendly service. The main course was good value for money. Starters, desserts, and drinks were really overpriced. The price-quality ratio was out of whack. We shared the Dame Blanche for a whopping €12.80. We saw several other people sharing their desserts. A bottle of Radler was €4.15, also out of proportion, more than 4.5 times the price. Fresh mint tea was €4.10, so I definitely won't be having that again. Too bad, hence the 3 stars.

We had a wonderful meal. A lovely standard menu and some lovely seasonal dishes. It was hard to choose. Reasonably priced for food and wine.

The food is good, but the baguette with spreads has too little baguette in proportion to the spreads. This means there are always spreads left over, which is a waste. Solution: offer more baguette.

Lunch with two school friends from the Bible School, where we had lessons with Mr. Bakker. At the Old School, we had gym class with Miss Eijbergen, who marked the rhythm by tapping the wooden floor with a stick. Sweet memories, monkey bars, the climbing frames along the wall, and the rings on the ceiling... We're giggling like old times again (that was about 55 years ago). Oh yes, we also had a delicious meal 😂🤣😘👍

It's wonderful to have such a charming restaurant with a cozy terrace within cycling distance. The menu offers plenty of choice, but it's especially surprising with its exotic twists (e.g., a flavorful Moroccan zucchini soup), the various vegetarian options, and the emphasis on sustainability. The service is incredibly friendly; we feel genuinely welcome here.

The value for money is completely gone. Shame, it used to be a nice little place. The food is decent (soup of the day is mostly a thin roux with an indefinable flavor and some bacon in it, autumn salad well-filled but a bit monotonous). The service is a disaster, waiting 20 minutes with empty soup bowls in front of you and a teenager unleashing her personality problems on you. But what is really miserable is the acoustics. What a terrible racket, you can't have a normal conversation there because you are simply 50 centimeters apart. And then well over a euro per centimeter is too much money....

Nice restaurant. Even with a large group, there was still personal attention for the rest of the group. Had a delicious meal. With a small or large soup as a starter. Top service.

A very nice atmosphere, good service, and an excellent place if you have something to celebrate with drinks. Fun to eat in a very old school. Cosy decor and friendly service. Unfortunately, a bitterball wasn't available before 2:00 PM. (but a croquette was..? 😂 ) When the weather is nice, a spacious outdoor terrace is also available. Free parking nearby (municipality harbor).

Very friendly staff and great atmosphere. They moved some tables together to accommodate us last minute without a reservation & gave my niece some warm milk even though it wasn't on the menu. My mom had a great frozen latte (dark chocolate flavor) while the rest of us went for beers. Unfortunately, didn't eat there as we were planning for a meal at home, but I would like to go back.

Very good and generous food, we were bikepacking ourselves so we couldn't leave the packed bikes unattended. The terrace was not open but we could sit there. Inside was cozy messy and heated. Service is friendly not very fast but inside it was very busy.

Had a super tasty lunch at this atmospheric, cozy place. Thanks to the sun we could have a nice lunch outside on the outdoor terrace, but it also looks very cozy inside! Service very friendly and good, fast service. Difficult to choose from the tasty and original options on the menu. Incidentally, also very reasonable prices. We chose the brie sandwich. That was a very tasty whole. Tasty homemade lemonades lemon with it. Everything you get looks equally well cared for. I would like to come back here again to try something else from the menu or for dinner.

The staff were very friendly and always delicious. We wanted asparagus and were given two options: the standard one with ham and one with lamb chops. I had the standard one for €20, which was tasty but really very small: 5 baby potatoes, 3 slices of ham, and 5 asparagus spears. More like a starter than a main course. The same was true for the asparagus with lamb: tasty but really too small, and the price wasn't even mentioned: €32.50. It really wasn't worth it. The quality was good, but the quantity and the location... all in all, it was way too pricey for a weeknight meal.
