Grand Café Staal in Wijk 01 IJmuiden-Noord

Gelukkig was het geen enkel probleem dat we een half uur eerder kwamen dan afgesproken. Lekkere koffie, smakelijke lunch en we kregen alle tijd om bij te praten met de familie.

Op 27 maart 2025 hebben we een receptie en diner gehad vanwege mijn pensioen. Beide waren zeer geslaagd. De ruimte was uitermate geschikt. De hapjes en drankjes waren prima. Het diner was erg lekker. Het was allemaal zeer gezellig. De bediening was ook uitstekend. Wij komen graag nog eens terug.

Was gisteren 5 april op een thema eten, Kreeften menu 3 gangen. Het was weer voortreffelijk eten. Goede bediening. Kom er graag.

Recentelijk heb ik genoten van een uitstekende maaltijd in dit restaurant. De ruime opzet van de zaak zorgt ervoor dat je geen last hebt van andere gasten, wat de algehele ervaring prettig en ontspannen maakt. De menukaart biedt meer dan voldoende keuze wat dit tot een aantrekkelijke optie maakt voor zakelijke diners. Het is de ideale locatie om een gesprek af te ronden, maar ook gezellig om met je gezin te eten.

Gezellig restaurant, vriendelijke bediening maar weinig eten voor veel geld. De geitenkaassalade als hoofdgerecht (€16,75) had het formaat van een voorgerecht, bij de zeebaars voor €23,50 moet de patat apart besteld worden. De glazen wijn waren mininmaal gevuld.

Genoten van een heerlijke avond. Vriendelijke bediening en een heerlijk kerstmenu. Het restaurant was sfeervol ingericht en een mooie keuze uit verschillende gerechten

Gisterenavond voor ons schouwburgbezoek gegeten bij Staal. We hadden aangegeven dat we op tijd weg moesten en daar werd goed rekening mee gehouden. De bediening was vlot en heel vriendelijk. Én, niet onbelangrijk: we hebben heerlijk gegeten! Omdat we wat ouder zijn eten we niet meer zo veel en nemen geen voorgerecht. Maar de ossenhaasspiezen waren voortreffelijk en met die lekkere friet erbij hadden we ruim voldoende.

This is a great spot for a tasty and filling lunch. I had the Vegetarian 12 uurtje, which is cup of soup, a sandwich with a veggie Dutch croquette and an open sandwich with brie. It was fresh, tasty, and enough for lunch and dinner. Fries are great too.

Wat een leuk en gezellig restaurant. Vriendelijke vlotte bediening. En heerlijk eten! Gerechten zien er smaakvol uit. Ook lekkere warme stoofperen.

I had salmon fillet there and my friend had veggie burger. And we had fries with that. These were the tastiest fries and salmon I have ever eaten. So I can recommend Aufjefenfall.

Nice food and drink tent, but the food is on the expensive side

My husband, mother-in-law and I were very curious about Staal. Made a reservation via the website and my mother-in-law had checked the site to see if dogs were welcome. There was nothing to read about that so we just went there with the dog. Upon arrival it was immediately stated that dogs are not allowed in the restaurant, but they are allowed on the terrace. However, unfortunately there is no terrace weather anymore, so we unfortunately left. It might be useful to report it online, otherwise we would have left the dog with a sitter.

Were with a large group of 17 people. Had arranged a separately composed menu. Choice of 3 dishes for each course. We had a really great meal. And everyone got to eat at the same time, well what more could you want?

We had a lovely lunch there, I had made a reservation and asked for a table by the window because I came with a lady of 90+ and then a little light is nice... While it was so busy... we had a beautiful place for the window👍 the food was delicious.. very tender satay meat 👌 Personally I thought it was a bit pricey, but the quality was great!!

Heerlijke koffie met appeltaart, gezellig blijven zitten en daarna ook weer lekker geluncht met vriendinnen, vriendelijke bediening! Alles top

Very nice restaurant with good food for a reasonable price. The staff are very friendly and attentive. We were able to sit on the terrace overlooking the street, where there was plenty to see.

Delicious food. A high tea for 6 people with grandma from IJmuiden. Very nicely decorated. Coffee and tea in abundance. The mint was washed well and the ginger was great on the stick. Best so far. Service was good. Will definitely come back. Thanks.

Stopped in after crossing the ferry and had an excellent lunch. The grilled goat cheese, fig, and mixed nuts salad was outstanding.

Customer and service oriented to an elderly man of 84 years who ordered without having seen the menu and therefore received a double portion. Problem was solved, bill adjusted, win-win.

Service is fast and spontaneous...but the flamkuchen were very tasty! And what a cool place!

Ate at Staal for the first time. What an absolute top tent. The service was extremely fast (perhaps a little too fast ;)), within 2 minutes of arriving there was a super nice waitress at the table. The food was really great, I haven't had such a good meal in a long time and the presentation was not bad either. Price-quality ratio was also very good, we will definitely come back here.

Geweldige ervaring. Was heel lekker en omdat ik had vermeld dat mijn echtgenoot die dag 80 was geworden hingen er bij onze tafel balonnen en een vlag met 80. Bij het toetje kwamen twee dames zingend en met een brandend feest fontein naar ons toe. Wat geweldig om dit mee te beleven vooral ook omdat mijn echtgenoot niet wist wat ik geregeld had en de dag van zijn leven heeft gehad. Heel hartelijk bedankt voor deze geweldige verrassing

Food was very tasty, definitely worth it. Service was friendly but not very fast and there were a few big shouts which made it a bit noisy.

Very nice service. 2 of the 3 guests with celiac disease and really thought along and looked along very well. When in doubt, even call the chef. We were able to enjoy the wonderful day special without any worries. This one didn't even make the photo as we had already eagerly started tasting ;)! With or without special dietary needs, you can certainly enjoy a delicious meal here.

Dear girls. Delicious food and the atmosphere is fantastic.

Great service, but had to get the menu myself. I had my son with me who just walked around quietly under my supervision. I took it out of the way when full and warm trays arrived. After more than half an hour, a lady (employee) came to me very irritated and said that she did not like my son running loose. I get the memo. But the tone in which this lady said it is really unacceptable. I ate the last bit of my lunch feeling bad and left the restaurant as quickly as possible. For me the 1st and last time at Staal.

Very tasty cafe. We were there at lunchtime. It is recommended to reserve. The food is very nicely prepared and tastes very good. However, the menu is in Dutch. The staff is very nice and attentive. Only to recommend.

We regularly ate remotely during the lockdowns. Now had lunch on location for the first time. We'll do this more often. Been regularly now, often for dinner. Excellent menu, and regular nice Chef Specials.

A high tea that was excellent. Service attentive, but it's a pity that no alternative was offered for the soup. So basically 4 1/2 for service.

Heerlijk gegeten, gezellige sfeer en goede service. Meer heb je niet nodig toch?

Erg leuke locatie om lekker even te lunchen (in ons geval). Erg vriendelijk personeel en het eten smaakt goed. Enig minpuntje is dat ze bij het raam tweepersoonstafeltjes hebben taan met direct daarnaast hoge plantenbakken. Dit is best wat benauwd, helemaal als er bediend wordt.

Te weinig personeel en sommige die er liepen keken nou niet bepaald vrolijk. Hightea viel ietwat tegen voor het geld dat we ervoor moesten neertellen. Voor mij geen 2e keer meer.

Eten en drinken is erg lekker en je zit gezellig binnen.

Super gezellig en lekker eten top restaurant

Een heerlijke high tea gehad bij Grand Café Staal. Binnen was een tafel gedekt, maar ivm het mooie weer wilden we toch liever buiten, dat was geen probleem. Meerdere hartige en zoete gerechtjes kregen we voor ons neus en verschillende soorten thee. Zeer vriendelijk en gezellig personeel. Met een goed gevulde maag en een lach op ons gezicht gingen we weer naar huis. Heel erg bedankt!

Heerlijke lunch. Wel vreemd dat pas na het bestellen van een derde kopje thee (van verschillende mensen) je pas kon kiezen uit de theedoos. De eerste twee kregen geen keus alleen een zakje Earl grey
