Rude staff and owners, you should really be ashamed and you are absolutely not catering people but small business owners!!!

The bathroom is paid, there's no Wi-Fi, I asked to charge my phone and they charged me €2.50, and I also asked for two Aperol Spritzes, which didn't taste like Aperol and tasted like two Aperol Spritzes. I'm really sorry, but it's the worst bar ever.

Ugh... where to begin? We were here in mid-August to celebrate a birthday. The waitresses are truly fantastic; nothing is too much trouble and they really go the extra mile. The manager, on the other hand, was anything but professional; loud, unfriendly, and incapable of resolving a minor issue (a child throwing sand) in a normal way. Yes, the kids were naughty, had to apologize, and we offered the affected children a drink and an apology. It turned out the manager had also added a drink to her bill, even though only two of the four glasses had anything left. Again, naughty kids were our problem, so you lovingly offer them something, but the fact that the manager/owner then pretends to offer new drinks while also helping herself is truly remarkable. We won't be going back.

I experienced a person getting yelled at for supposedly ordering something "wrong". The staff started screaming and yelling at the poor guy and shouting I quote: "Why dont you want to eat it? Just because it tastes bad?! Yo have to pay it!". The discussion was very annoying and in our opinion very rude on the staffs side. This restaurant is not recommendable even though it has a very good view.

A complete scandal. Two people spend €29 on two drinks. Then you have to pay €1 each to use a "clean restroom." Two extremely rude women who rented the restroom tell you this is normal. We'll never come back here again.

I had to pay €1 per toilet visit on top of the bill, while the restaurant prices at this establishment are already higher than all other establishments in the same category. I was also spoken to unfriendly by a staff member (I think it was the owner). The rest of the staff, however, were very friendly.

If you pay over €88 for an order for two people, you have to pay for the restroom. It's beyond words: you get an expensive bottle and can't deposit it "for free" while sitting on the terrace. What should I do? Put it on the floor. I paid €1 for each time I had to use it, but that simply means no tip. It's a shame, because the sangria and food were delicious, and we normally tip generously. So, where's your focus in business?

This place reflects everything that's wrong with Scheveningen right now. Eating out on a warm summer evening, in a 75% empty place, where the restroom attendant mumbles that you owe her money to pee, and where the (otherwise friendly) staff starts clearing things away at 8:30 PM. Too bad. Next time, back to Zuiderstrand.

Ordered a dish for 10€ delivered one for 30€ and blamed us that we ordered the wrong dish, although we even pointed the menu. And the 30€ dish was dry and hard to eat.

The wrong food was served and after an argument the owner started shouting at me and was extremely rude.

What a disappointment... The food was tasteless and the prices were completely out of proportion. €10 for a cocktail that tasted like nothing, a real waste of money. For the same money, you could go to the next door, where you'd at least get something tasty. I'm definitely never coming back here.

First and the last time! Food it is ok, nothing special. Beach Chairs x 2 Preis 35 Euro, for Restaurant guests to use a Toilette 1 Euro. I find it too much.

Friendly staff, delicious, and reasonably priced breakfast. Don't be fooled, though: drinks are not included. So, with two fresh orange juices and a few coffees, it'll easily add over €20.

Sat down to have some drinks/coffee. Couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw I have to pay an extra 1 euro 20 cents to have oat milk instead of cows milk,!, that is just stealing in plain sight. For 1,20€ I can buy almost a whole one liter carton of oat milk from Albert Heijn! The worst was being asked to pay ONE euro for using their toilet even though we had sat there and ordered drinks. Paying a euro to use the restroom is obscene, especially if you’re a paying customer.

The location is fine, but Van Dobben's bitterballen are 8 in the photo, but they added that you only get 7! So, only 7 bitterballen are on the plate when there's actually room for 8! Terrible!

It was pouring with rain. There were maybe three tables occupied in the restaurant. The children were screaming. We stood under an umbrella so I could put the little baby in the carrier. The waitress came running over and asked for our order. After we said we were just taking a quick break because of the screaming baby and wanted to leave right away, she sent us away very briskly and rudely. It didn't bother her that we couldn't put on our jackets.

I would recommend this restaurant to my friends and acquaintances. Simply excellent!

First of all, the location is great, right next to the pier. That wasn't our reason for eating here (the kids needed something quick). The food was okay but could have been better, and the prices were steep. The atmosphere inside was very nice; we sat outside (plenty of shade), and it seemed a bit dated and less decorated. The staff was friendly and quick. I also saw the sign that restrooms were chargeable, but with a bill of over €80 for two sandwiches, two children's meals, and a round of soft drinks, the restroom should have been included.

We had a delicious meal yesterday with a large group. The young man who helped us was super friendly. I think his name was Gregorie. We'll be back soon.

Highly recommended! We ate there every morning and twice for dinner/lunch. The staff were very friendly and attentive. A fantastic view. The price was reasonable, too. I highly recommend the fish (cod), the mustard sauce, and the veggie burger. We'll definitely be back on our next vacation!

👍🏻 - Pleasant restaurant with a terrace overlooking the sea and adjacent play areas for children. As a family, we felt very welcome and were served very friendly, in German. We didn't have to wait long for our food, and the children, as well as us adults, enjoyed it very much. We think the price-performance ratio is completely reasonable. The menu is clearly laid out and is available in Dutch, German, and English. They charge €1 for the toilet, but this is standard at every local restaurant. We were completely satisfied.

Absolutely loved Grand Plage! The food was delicious, the view of the beach is unbeatable, and the staff were super friendly and attentive. Yes, the prices are on the higher side and the wait can be a bit long, but honestly, it’s totally worth it for the setting and quality — you’re paying for the whole experience, not just a meal. And about the paid toilets, I actually appreciated it — they were really clean, which is rare for a beachside spot. Definitely recommend if you want to treat yourself by the sea!

Unfortunately, I have to deduct half a point because I found the drink prices very high and the restroom fees a bit inappropriate, even for paying guests. Otherwise, I found everything very appealing, relaxed, and delicious, and the staff was also very friendly. The huge construction site on Boulevard (2025), on the other hand, isn't very nice, but that's not the restaurant's fault.

Food is good but the menu in Dutch doesn’t correspond with the English one; staff were friendly. Also what bothered me is that the toilet is paid even for the clients. 1 euro when I paid at least 70 euros per order, that’s not normal.

What a good, nice place. Not exactly a theme, but just a good homely atmosphere.. Very nice, enthusiastic service. And you can place your order via card and QR code.

Very relaxing place. The drinks service was super fast and the food came soon after we ordered. The staff were always present and helpful.

We ordered 2 drinks and a Kibbeling drink snack. The kibbeling just didn't taste good. There were hardly any herbs on them and the pieces were too large to be fully cooked on the inside. This was the worst kibbeling I had eaten. When the bill came it turned out to be a main course. While we had explicitly indicated on the menu that we wanted the drinks variant. Their response "Oh sorry. That will be 35 euros." After that I couldn't even go to the bathroom without paying again! Way too expensive for what you get. And then also ask for extra money if I want to change my baby.

Super cozy place on the beach with a sea view! The service was great, fast and friendly! The breakfast was tasty and plenty of it. We will definitely come back here again!

A location, so prices are high but they fit this place. What is indecent, however, is that guests are charged €1 per visit to the toilet, even if you are demonstrably sitting on the terrace. It gets worse...our young man of 7 years old was in dire need and was allowed to go himself, but was sent back by those two Benidorm Bastards. Hey, you feel very confident about keeping a child out. After this report to staff, it was confirmed that everyone, including a child, must pay one euro for toilet visits. Paid, no tip and left never to visit Grand PLASage again.

Unfortunately, we only discovered the Grand Plage on our last evening. The food was the best we had in Scheveningen. Everything was just great. We felt very comfortable and we will eat here more often on our next vacation.

I have experienced it several times now that the owner conducts her business meetings in the restaurant, where you as a customer can hear everything in a disturbing way. "If we were allowed to open 2 weeks longer then...." super disruptive for customers. I am also a businesswoman myself, but I would never approach it that way. I wholeheartedly wish this start-up the world and certainly want to help them get positive reviews, but I really said something about it today in the hope that they will change things. It's a nice thing, but this disturbing factor is currently going around everywhere. This also explains why we were the only guests in the restaurant. By the way, the service was top notch and so was the quality of the food. Only the price of the food per main course is 7-10 euros above the prices of the other clubs, due to the fact that they are a start-up.

Very bad service, rude waiters, takes hours to get food or even drinks and could not pay after asking for the bill the 5th time. Awful

After a pleasant day, something terrible happened to us when we were just having dinner at this cozy beach bar. My 6 year old grandniece went missing, what a terrible panic. But Patricia, an employee of the beach bar, immediately came to the rescue and asked my niece for a photo of the little one, which she posted on an app of all the beach bars, the police were called and all other emergency services were called in. And after an endless search of more than 1 hour and 20 minutes, the employee came back with the good news, she showed a photo of the girl and yes, it was her, we were so happy. And of course our food had become cold and Grand Plage said you will all get a new meal. Very sweet and so nice how they helped us. And the food is definitely recommended, it was delicious and enjoyable, thanks again Patricia! Ah, now it turns out that my other great-niece left her newly received ball with you due to all the commotion.

Food is very mediocre, especially for those prices.

Overall a very disappointing experience. We had to wait 15 minutes to even order, despite me asking three different waitresses. Then it took another 25 minutes for our drinks to arrive. Then we waited no less than 53 minutes for 7 bitterballen. When we asked where our order was, they simply said it was 'normal' for it to take an hour. No excuse, no solution... just wait. Definitely not recommended!!!!!!

I can only agree with all of the previous 1/5 reviews. We had to wait forever until we could order. The Aperol is a ready-made one on the bottle. There were 7 of us, we all ordered food and only 5 got their food. Of course we asked... twice. Unfortunately, the missing food still didn't come. Unfortunately no one came to pay. We then went in and asked to pay and we didn't want the missing food anymore (after a total of 2 hours). Then a very heated situation began. The boss wanted to settle the bill, we asked to cancel the 2 missing dishes. After a discussion, the boss simply turned around and walked away. Then the boss came and started screaming at us and waving wildly in front of us. Yelled at us that we should take the food now, it was ready now (it was with the prawns, they were ordered in batter and there they were in oil, like in another review!!) But we really didn't want to eat the wrong food after 2 hours. She kept screaming and screaming that we wouldn't understand her. I really thought I'd catch one right away. We really just wanted to pay the amount that was left. But that was hardly possible because you couldn't get a word in edgewise in her anger. That was so incredible. We can sign all reviews of 1/5 stars.

We waited more than 45 minutes for the drinks, even the bitterballen arrived even earlier. Once the drinks arrived, they had poured completely different flavors of ice tea because they had run out of ice tea green. But ice tea peach is really something else and the kids don't like it. So sent back. Then we waited another 10 minutes for alternative drinks, which didn't come, then we really had to leave. You pay in advance, it was a lot of hassle to get the money back. Also pay a euro for the toilet, yes also as a customer, because it is run. Ridiculous, absolutely not recommended.

The service doesn't even deserve one star. After 45 minutes and calling the waitress 12 times, we left without ordering. Never again.

Just had dinner with the family for 100+ euros. I walk to the counter myself for a cup of coffee. I am rudely shown the door by the owner. "I really don't have time for this." Last time I came here. Burger was also McDonald's quality for almost 25 euros.

I got the goat cheese sandwich and its one of the best things ive ever had. Even the salad wax perfection. Our waitress was so nice. I ate everything on my plate and id travel back to de pier from the uk just to eat it all again. The prices arent great but for the area its pretty standard. Veggie options are decent. Extra bonus as they definitely give you what you pay for with all the ingredients being lovely and plenty

The food was delicious, but the terrace was a bit messy. If you go out to eat and drink somewhere and the bill is 100 euros, you are not going to pay another euro for the toilet. Not even because the reason is that it is managed externally and would therefore be extra clean. Been to many places on the boulevard and almost everywhere there are just neat toilets that you do not pay extra for (processed in the margins is better 😉 Furthermore, the food was absolutely fine, although quite expensive, but that is the case almost everywhere. Here a frikandel with curry costs 6.50 euros A white bun with herb butter 8 euros, olives 7.50. In the photo 50 euros for 2 wine, ice tea or cassis, two frikandel with sauce and a white bun with herb butter and olives. I was only shocked by the price of the frikandel

Omelets well done (oh yes, beach quality) Service is nice. My 3 year old daughter had to go to the toilet and you were half barked at to pay without getting a word in between (presumably the infamous Patricia). Very friendly and welcome. If this had happened earlier, I would not have ordered food and drinks. It's a shame that this happens in the catering industry.

Rude customer service by this old lady.

Helped by a very friendly lady. She also thought along with us and gave us good advice about certain choices and wishes. The food not only looked good, but tasted good too. We ordered shrimp croquette, spare ribs menu, crispy chicken burger menu and sea bass fillet menu. We enjoyed our food very much. And also important: toilet use was free for customers.

Worst place, demands tips and then throws you out because you stay seated for a while after having an overpriced drink. Blonde patricia, very sneaky. No wonder it was so empty there.

We were there today as a group with small children and encountered very unfriendly service. We finally left because it was repeatedly made clear to us in an unfriendly manner that we were in the way. Sorry to other friendly forces there, but we won't go there a second time. In addition, even though you are a guest, you have to pay 1 euro for the toilet, which is not cleaned.

Careful: toilet not included even for costumers... I really think that it is not okay, that you have to pay 1€ per person to use the toilet after paying >30€ for a snack and drinks... Food was ok, service was young but friendly. There was an error with my food order but the menu said Breaded Gambas and I got Gambas aioli without me noticing. I ate it and the ticket later said €16.50 instead of €9.50. The boss came to the table and wanted to tell me it was the same instead of blaming me for eating it and wanting to split the 6 euro difference. Which I found stupid. And then the waitress takes it from the earnings. Mistakes can happen and it is simply outrageous how the boss reacted like that. That's why no support for the boss. 👎

Furthermore, I think the owner provides a very nasty, annoying, unfriendly service, her name is Patricia! whether or not to consume, you just have to pay for going to the toilet or just to wash your hands! A different kind of experience. The obviously new waiter took the order in a friendly manner. I pointed at the menu to be sure so he wouldn't make a mistake. The food was brought and I asked the waiter again if it was the right thing, to which the waiter replied positively several times. However, the bill showed an inflated incorrect price, which was vehemently and very rudely demanded by the manager. Finally, with a lot of shouting, she called the police, the owner pushed my partner, and after an hour of discussion we were able to pay the correct amount. Incredible. I have never experienced something like that. The owner's answer is once again an impudence and an absolute distortion of the facts. It's pathetic when you can't admit your mistakes. This has obviously been the case with several customers in the past, and that's very surprising when it's always the same pattern. Luckily, we have a video that proves the real process.

I had a delicious breakfast there. The boulevard is being improved. This means you are closer to the sea. People are warm and hospitable. I come there regularly and I will continue to do so.

Super cozy tent. Also looks clean and well cared for. Nice meal. Waldkorn chicken. Friendly staff. It's great that the toilets are clean. Even on busy days (even if you have to pay something, I'm happy to pay for it)

We were there to end our holiday and chose the Grand Plage for dinner because of its proximity to the beach and the optimal play opportunities for our children. We weren't disappointed. Our waitress was very friendly and always had a cheeky saying on her lips. The food looked very good and everyone enjoyed it. The portions were always sufficient. We ordered a main course for the children, as the children's menu unfortunately didn't have anything suitable to offer. The schnitzel with fries was divided into two plates without any problems. In my opinion, the optimal location and the overall ambience also justify the relatively high price for food and drinks. Anyone who gets involved in it has to be able to live with it. We were able to skilfully skip the often criticized 1€ toilet coin. Enjoy it!
