Great place. We've been coming here since it opened. The quality of the food is always good. Friendly and competent staff. Top-notch place.

What I want to give 5 stars for is that they really took my gastric bypass into account! Smaller portions that were actually even a little too much, but I was able to make my husband a bit happy with that. Really super well taken care of and arranged!

A delicious lunch in a cozy restaurant! The highly recommended option is, of course, the Marron tart, which certainly suffices as a sweet lunch!

It was very pleasant to sit outside in the summer and watch the fountains. We only had coffee and cake and enjoyed the weather while our child played in the fountains.

We spontaneously went for lunch in Hoogeveen because we were looking for something to do on our rainy holiday day. After consulting Google for a child-friendly spot, this one quickly came up. And we really enjoyed it. The food was delicious. The staff was very friendly. There was a nice little kids' play area. Highly recommended 😄

We had a delicious meal and drinks here. Good atmosphere and service. The only downside I found was that no vegetables or salad are served with a dish. You have to pay an extra 3.50 for this. It was said that this is due to a lot of vegetables being thrown away. On the one hand, I understand this. But for a bill of 100 euros for two people in an hour and a half, I find this a really weak excuse. If a certain vegetable or salad doesn't appeal to you, surely you try something else? Because of this, it left a strange aftertaste.

On May 23rd, we had a wonderful time sitting on the terrace and enjoying the exquisite 4-course asparagus pairing. We were early, but that was no problem; a spot was found for us on the crowded terrace. The service was extremely attentive and truly made an effort to keep the pace slow between courses—after first asking us how we would like it. And the dishes themselves were original and very tasty. We had a fantastic evening.

Despite a request to close the doors, I left them open. The draft carried cigarette smoke inside as well. In the end, I just closed the doors myself.

The sushi is not as good as it used to be - hardly any sauce and the quality seems less too - this has happened in the last 12 months, possibly less. The double Dutch coffee is recommended if you have a sweet tooth but the amount of caramel and caramel flakes they usebia highly variable - when it’s busy you get less flakes which is very annoying. In the summer on a good day the kids can have a lot of fun with the water fountains outside on the square.

I went here on a date because someone recommended it. It was genuinely the finest restaurant experience I have ever had. The food was truly delicious; they pay close attention to whether you have any allergies and even ask about them if you request it. I had the bread board, pork tenderloin, and some ice cream. The best dinner I have ever had. Excellent service, amazing food, and a warm, calm atmosphere. I definitely recommend it, though I wasn't the one paying, so do keep that in mind.

Beautiful restaurant, tasteful decor, and comfortable chairs. I dined alone before a theater performance at De Tamboer, so I was there before the crowds. Around 7:00 PM it was pleasantly full; I would recommend making a reservation. It's nice that there are different seating areas; a couple of friends were sitting at a high, long table, and next to me was a large round table with female friends on a date. Behind me was a separate room that creates a bit of a private atmosphere when dining with a large group. I got a nice table, and the service was very friendly and helpful. For starters, the pomodoro soup, which was very flavorful and portioned just right. After that, the vegetarian tasting platter: risotto with cheese, roasted cauliflower with green herbs, and a unique interpretation of a cheese soufflé. For me personally, it was a bit too heavy; I left the two pieces of cheese on top of the risotto, and the cheese soufflé was a bit on the greasy side, but all in all, a flavorful dish. Unfortunately, there was no time left for dessert, but there was a very wide selection, something for everyone. The homemade pastries looked appealing. I would definitely go back again; a nice start to a cultural evening out.

Last Sunday evening, we had a delicious meal at Grand Café Marron with a party of four. From the starter to the main course, everything was excellent and of good quality. As the icing on the cake, two of us tried the tiramisu, and that was also very tasty! The service was prompt and very friendly, which made the evening complete. A lovely atmosphere and definitely worth coming back for. Highly recommended!

We ordered the burger, which initially seemed very disappointing because the plate was very large and the two onion rings looked a bit sad... (too bad you only get two) But we got a good piece of meat, which was well-cooked and very filling 🫶🏼 The cheese, jalapeño, and pickles on the burger made it perfect! Upon arrival, we indicated we wanted a quick bite to eat. The staff said it wasn't a problem. After a few minutes in the lounge area, we were quickly seated. Unfortunately, the staff wasn't attentive after that. It took twenty minutes to get a menu for our quick bite, and after ordering, we still hadn't had our food for an hour. The service was terrible, and the staff even started criticizing each other in front of us. It was a real shame.

Boxing Day with three people Sharing Dinner at De Marron. It was delicious, lots of different small dishes, tasty wine, and the service is very friendly. We sat there for over 3 hours and enjoyed ourselves.

On Boxing Day, we dined at Marron in Hoogeveen, and it was a wonderful experience. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and of excellent quality. Everything tasted excellent, and we truly enjoyed our meal. Furthermore, the staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and hospitable, despite the busy holiday season. We felt welcome and well cared for. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxed, which made the evening complete. This was definitely one to repeat—we'll definitely be back next year!

Lovely atmospheric restaurant. Excellent food. Not a very extensive menu. And good service. It's just very noisy inside. They try to compensate for that with music. But if you're with a group, you can barely hear each other. Very nice for 2-4 people, but not very enjoyable with a larger group.

Marron offers a varied menu with a balanced selection, the entire menu clearly presented on 3 to 4 pages. We had a very delicious mustard soup as a starter and a lovely veal steak. The building is tastefully decorated with subdued, yet atmospheric lighting. We were given two small appetizers as an appetizer, which were very well received. So much so that we even received two more when we asked our waitress – kudos for the free service! The Snickers 2.0 dessert was also delicious. The food, ambiance, and staff were excellent. Highly recommended, worth every euro. We will definitely visit Grand Cafe Marron again!🙏

The nachos were very bland, and the pulled chicken that came with them was very dry. The fries arrived 10 minutes later than the rest, and they were almost cold. The glasses weren't all that clean either. The service was very dull; the people weren't very spontaneous. I'll never come here again!

Always good and enjoyable at Marron; this time I ordered a generous drinks platter and several other snacks. I drank mocktails, specialty beers, and wine...in short, I spent a lot of money at Marron. I had dinner with my girlfriend last night. The food was good and the service friendly. My girlfriend absolutely loved the dessert. The price was a bit high, but the place was cozy.

Main courses don't come with any vegetables as standard. So you pay €33.50 for a tournedos just for the meat. I find the price-quality ratio poor, even though it tastes great. The fries are a bit overcooked.
