We contacted the restaurant today, May 23, 2026. The plan was to have dinner on a Monday with a small group of 5 to 7 people. Our mother is turning 100. Unfortunately, they were closed on Mondays. The group was just too small to open. We understood completely. They even helped us look for another location. After ending the conversation, we were called back later by the owner. The gentleman thought turning 100 was so special and wanted to open especially for our mother as a congratulatory outing. But Mom is having health issues. So, unfortunately, it was not possible, and the group was also small. A wonderful gesture from ZieZo. It was really great that we were called back. Good luck with your hospitality establishment.

A superb restaurant. We had a delicious meal. You could tell that a lot of attention had been paid to the starter, main course, and dessert. Presentation matters, too. As seniors, we appreciated that the portions of side dishes were not too large, but were topped up if necessary. This prevents waste. The service and atmosphere were top-notch: calm, cheerful, and relaxed. You felt at ease immediately. We were regularly asked if everything was to our liking, etc. Conclusion: if you are in the Hoogeveen area, this restaurant is highly recommended. We will definitely be back again.

The food was delicious and delivered quickly. They were able to accommodate my allergies well; I could tell they had experience with this, as it was handled with such care. The portions were more than sufficient for us.

At first glance, Hoogeveen does not have a bustling city center. But when we looked for a place to eat on Saturday evening, everything turned out to be well-filled. We ended up at Ziezo via Social Deal. Genuinely friendly welcome and service, also for the pets! We chose the ravioli and pork tenderloin with a bread basket beforehand. Prepared with care, nice and hot, and beautifully served. We had a wonderful time sitting and eating.

The atmosphere inside is austere. It was cold, and we weren't the only ones bothered by that. Guests who arrived later were served earlier. The ham was supposed to be served with honey mustard sauce, but it was minimal, and the ham itself was dry. We reported this, but nothing was done about it. In short, not recommended.

There were two of us, and we were in a bit of a rush because we had a train to catch. When we asked if that would work out in terms of time, we were helped incredibly kindly and were able to sit down immediately. We had a delicious meal, with a nice amount of vegetables in the side dishes alongside the meat and fish. Thanks to the quick service, we were able to eat leisurely and enjoyably, and then catch our train. Thank you for the friendly service!

Ordered for 35 and gave a tip. More fries than meat. The loaded fries with chicken thigh, chicken teriyaki, had hardly any meat, and the loaded fries were rock hard and didn't have any seasoning.

There were two of us here. We chose the 4-course menu. The food was nice, but nothing special. I did miss some raw vegetable or salad with the shrimp in filo pastry to give it a bit of freshness. The roll with herb butter we ordered was dull and rather flavorless. The French onion soup was more of a bouillon with a bit of onion and could have used a bit more salt. A piece of bread with gratinated cheese would have been nice (as is fitting with French onion soup). For the main course, we both chose the beef steak. It was wonderfully tender. We could order unlimited side dishes (roasted potatoes, salad, and vegetables) if we wanted more. The grande dessert wasn't particularly special, but it was tasty. All in all, a reasonably good meal.

Just good food. We had the 3-course menu for 27.95. Schnitzel with onion, bacon, and mushrooms. Roti rolls as a starter and a Grand dessert. Everything was tasty and the plates were beautifully presented.

I took my girlfriend out for dinner for her birthday. The ladies were very friendly and welcoming. The food was also very tasty. And...it was just nice and warm there :-) It's a shame I don't live in Hoogeveen anymore, but I will definitely recommend it to other people from Hoogeveen or the surrounding area.

The food was tasty and the portions quite generous. The staff was friendly. We had to wait quite a long time even though only 3 tables were occupied; later on, more people were seated. No one came to ask if we wanted anything to drink. We waited an hour for dessert and still no drinks. We decided to mention this anyway – a major minus point. What I found even worse... it was very cold inside. The heating is in the ceiling and blew some warm air every 15 to 20 minutes... for about 30 seconds. There was another man complaining about it, and we also asked if it could be a bit warmer. He said he would do that, but we didn't see any sign of it; we sat in the cold for 2.5 hours.

My wife [vegetarian] and I [non-vegetarian] enjoyed a delicious 4-course menu at ZieZo here in Hoogeveen on Christmas Day. We were nicely welcomed. The "boss" was also responsible for the service. The interior looked neat again and the toilets were clean. That's how it should be, but....... you sometimes come across things differently. Before we left, I complimented the cook and a female server as well. Finally, the "boss" Harald himself of course. We will definitely come back again. Thanks for all the goodies. Ordered fries and stew for 3 people. It was more like a bowl of fries and lots of cheese, stew was hard to find, just like the sauce that goes with it. Price ratio seriously incorrect, €41 euros for fries with cheese and 5 pieces of meat?… So we will never order from here again

Wonderful restaurant in every respect. I came here alone but immediately felt welcome. I had a choice of several cozy tables. The service was super friendly and interested. I chose some vegetarian options from the 3-course menu: beet carpaccio with goat cheese and ravioli with mushrooms and peppers. Both dishes may sound simple but were surprisingly tasty! The side dishes were also very tasty: potatoes, vegetables and a small salad. My nut allergy wasn't a problem; there were excellent alternatives. The grand dessert was a sweet treat! Recommended in Hoogeveen! I will definitely come back!

The first time we ordered here, and also the last time. The loaded fries were limp and mealy, with little "filling". The stew should have contained carrots, but it was nowhere to be found. The meat on the Ziezo loaded fries was dry and tasteless. The salad had a very sweet honey-mustard dressing that was not indicated on the menu, which was a shame for our friend who cannot tolerate mustard. But the worst was the "Italian sheet cake": one small square slice of puff pastry. The filling itself was ok, but the fact that it costs 20 euros is really bizarre. It did come with (weak) fries and extra vegetables, but those vegetables were smothered to death in butter and bitter (dead fried) rosemary. All in all a huge disappointment, especially considering all the good reviews.

Hello, usually I don’t write reviews, but this time I will. I have nothing to say against lady waiter, she was okay. However, besides that, it was awful experience. To start with starters, it was very mediocre. It took them forever to bring main dishes, and when they brought them, it was very very bad. Moreover, it was so cold inside , we had to sit in the winter jackets, and in the bathroom, there only cold ice water. On top of that it was surprisingly the most expensive restaurant of this trip. Usually there is three of us, and for us it usually go under 100€. but here we spent 145€. We didn’t take any deserts, I think you understand why. Enough is enough. I waited to leave this place as I soon as can. Please don’t listen to your wife, who said it’s very nice restaurant, because it has nice google raiting, let’s go there. Only because she mentioned, that it’s a nice place according to google maps raiting. I want to make clear, that this place is not nice at all. I would say more, one the worst money spent ever in my entire life. I can continue forever, but I made my point.
