We had a delicious meal and the service was super friendly.

Very mediocre restaurant. Ambiance from 40 years ago. Portions very small. Tomato rice a soggy ball. I ordered a Fileto. Beef tenderloin with pepper sauce and fried potatoes. What I was served were two leaves of curly lettuce that didn't look fresh, with brown edges, 2 small pieces of meat of approx. 80g each. And then the pepper sauce and fried potatoes. Pepper soup and deep-fried potato cubes... it had nothing to do with sauce or fried potatoes. My partner ordered the Akropolis. Again, a very small portion with hard fries and a soggy ball of tomato rice the size of a large bitter ale. The beef tenderloin with this dish was full of tendons. Didn't finish it. So... to wash it all down, we ordered a Coke Zero. That was brought to the table in a small, flat glass, and the Jupiler was served in a Hertog Jan glass, but we won't dwell on that. I wouldn't call it a restaurant. If you like paying too much and don't care for good food, then I would go here. To end on a positive note: the tzatziki ordered later was not charged, and there was nothing wrong with the service.

After so many times, I picked it up again this time. This didn't go quite right this time, probably due to staff vacation time. After calling, it was handled well and we will definitely go back.

Ate here again after a long time. The meat is still served on cold (unheated) plates and gets cold quickly. Meat on a bed of gyros stays warm a little longer. If you are a fan of hot meat, Akropolis is not recommended.

A cozy Greek restaurant that has been based in Oosterhout for quite a few years. If you don't deliver quality, you have no right to exist. Akropolis, however, does: good Greek food in a cozy atmosphere and at good prices!

During the week the food is great, but last Saturday it was terrible: cold soup, cold gyros, small bowl of fries, no salad (we even had to ask for it). No, if you go on a Tuesday, delicious fried potatoes on your plate, just like the salad. There is nothing to complain about regarding the friendliness of the staff; they remain friendly and polite, it is just a shame that they possibly cannot handle the crowds on a Saturday.

Unfortunately, it was a disappointment for us; the starter and main course arrived too quickly one after the other, even though we requested some time in between. The meat was undercooked and the taste was also disappointing. Fortunately, the service was good, as the issue was resolved well. We heard several people saying to each other that they felt the food came too fast. When you go out to eat, you generally want to take your time and enjoy your meal.

Delicious food, lovely atmosphere, although the benches were a bit hard. We had the three-course menu, with plenty of options and affordable.

One of the best Greek restaurants in the Netherlands. Super good meat dishes, super polite service, a real family restaurant. Not like Irodion, where they ask three times if you want a drink. Beautiful decorations inside. Small but lovely! Definitely recommended!

Cozy Greek restaurant, and we thoroughly enjoyed the Greek tasting. It was great with the kids, who were able to join in the meal, as it was quite a lot. Friendly service.

Today we took a trip down memory lane. This is because we've been married for 12 and a half years. In the evening, we had a lovely Greek meal with our family. We met 25 years ago at Akropolis. I worked there, and my husband kept picking up a friend (the bartender), which often meant I had to work late. Eventually, he worked there for a short time too, and the spark ignited at Pandora (for those who still remember this wonderful pub). I have such fond memories of this beautiful, authentic family restaurant! With Soula, who always works incredibly hard and passionately in the kitchen, Kiriakos, who provided the necessary entertainment and fun. Waso, who helped out as a waiter on weekends, and of course, Dimitri, who, as the owner, not only worked in the kitchen and served, but also provided plenty of conversation, drinks, and then went out with us. Eating here now with our family and seeing that the atmosphere is still so good is a real relief. We had a truly delicious meal, and Number 39 is highly recommended! Although my daughter prefers number 30, the salmon, and my husband prefers number 62, the Hermes dish. In short, all of this made me realize I need to eat here more often. See you soon!

Good food in a small but atmospheric restaurant

The service was excellent. The lady was great. Unfortunately, the food wasn't good. The portions were small. The food took 55 minutes to arrive. The fish and gyros were unfortunately cold. The third course was okay. I definitely wouldn't go back.

The food is reasonable but not worth repeating. If you order a Giros dish you get a portion that an average children's menu would laugh at you hard. When I got home I prepared something small to supplement the gnome portion.

Had a lovely meal at Akropolis tonight. We ended up here via a voucher from the Wonderbox. A present from our daughter. We really have to compliment all the staff at Akropolis. Handing in the voucher was a drama because it wasn't entirely clear to me how and what. The staff had the patience of a saint waiting for the correct information and when the QR code from the Wonderbox didn't work afterwards, they were still patient. Everything was resolved perfectly. We will definitely come back here!!

Had to wait a long time for food. Not everything was to my taste. When ordering, they didn't say that the starter and my main course had the same sauce. That was a shame.

Somewhere in the 1990s, Akropolis Senior thought that an authentic Greek interior should consist of columns and implemented this in extremis in his restaurant. In other words, you step into a piece of Dutch-Greek history here. However, the fact that this makes me laugh somewhat does not mean that I did not have a good evening here. On the contrary, the service was a bit young, but very attentive and friendly and, and that's what it's all about, the food was above expectations. If the chef manages to keep the chicken breast tender so you don't have to drown it in the tzatziki, then you know the grill master knows what he is doing. The rack of lamb was also beautifully pink and with a fine edge of fat on it. So yes, the ambiance is somewhat old-fashioned (and therefore beautiful), but the food was very good for a good price. And that can no longer be found everywhere.

A nice decor and a friendly owner, nice atmosphere. 2nd visit here. First time fine 2nd time a shame. Small portions (mixed grill) lukewarm meat white portions dice fries taziki without garlic? No rice no salad. Portion of fries with it poor quality it seems like everything has been cut back on. Then raise the price but don't let it be at the expense of the quality!!! Dessert small scoop of ice cream from a teaspoon.

That evening, the restaurant was very busy. We arrived around 7 p.m. and hadn't made a reservation. A table was available, which was nice. It took about 20 minutes for someone to come to our table for the first time, which we thought was quite long. After ordering our drinks and food, we did get our meals quite quickly. However, we wanted a second round of drinks, and after repeatedly addressing the staff, they took care of this. When our drinks arrived, a glass of beer spilled onto our table, which was also on the counter. My pants were completely soaked. No effort was made to remedy this. The floor was dried, but our table and my pants were ignored. We used our own napkins, but this wasn't enough. No effort was made to resolve this issue. It's a shame, because the food was very good.

We had dinner here on Sunday. Without a reservation, I walked in spontaneously. Very nice, cozy place. Nice, truly Greek decor & atmosphere. We were helped quickly and very friendly by the young but polite staff. We had a delicious, large self-composed dish with 3 types of meat of your choice each and another large portion of gyros. This together with tomato rice (could have had a bit more flavor) and fried fresh potatoes. And a bowl of cabbage salad and a large portion of Tzatziki. Unfortunately, € 1.50 is charged for a portion of mayonnaise. The meat was tender, very tasty and deliciously grilled! Beef tenderloin yummy! Rest too, by the way. More than enough too. We had a great time. We found it to be good value for money. Delicious fresh food for a fair price. Recommended.

Takeout food was cold, and fried potato dishes were replaced with small fries without consultation. The tuna salad tasted like everything but tuna. The salad was like supermarket salad without the olives, and the vine leaves were cold.

Al weer een aantal jaar geleden dat we hier waren. Akropolis. Heerlijk gegeten ook dit keer weer. Gekozen voor 2 totaal andere gerechten dan normaal. Vooraf een feta in bladerdeeg en een salade die we meteen konden gebruiken voor het hoofdgerecht! Daarna voor mij de Special Giros, In witte wijn gemarineerde kleine stukjes vlees gesneden van het spit in een romige pikante champignonsaus, Voor mijn man de Tiganaki, Verschillende soorten vlees in een roomsaus met gesmolten kaas. Beide gerechten waren werkelijk heerlijk!! Als nagerecht koos ik voor de Frapé, erg lekker, moet ik wel zeggen dat ik hem in Griekenland sterker vond. Ik hou daar wel van. De droge witte huiswijn was ook super lekker. De sfeer is gezellig Grieks, en zo ook de bediening. En een geheugen!!! Toen wij jaren geleden daar waren hebben we enorm gelachen (lang grappig verhaal heel kort) omdat we even dachten dat iedereen naar huis ging. De eigenaar(?) wist dat dus ook nog.. daar hebben we het nog even over gehad. Tja.. men wil natuurlijk ook wat negatiefs lezen.. nou, als ik dan echt iets moet noemen... dan miste ik de peperoni in mijn salade!!! Dat vind ik zooo lekker en die zat er geen in. Dus, wij kunnen wel zeggen, we waren hier niet voor het eerst en zeer zeker ook niet voor het laatst. (bij leven en welzijn dan).

It's not what it used to be. The portions have become a lot smaller and you used to get red rice with it. Now a few pins of fries. Ordered a mint tea. Was on the menu with honey and lemon. I was given a small glass full of brown mint leaves, had to ask for honey and the response was Oh then I'll have to see if we have that and I came out of the kitchen with a container. Baklava was extremely hard and chewy, not what we are used to in the past. Service was extremely slow, I even hesitated about going somewhere else for dessert. Too bad I was always a fan of this Greek, but the next time we are in Oosterhout we will eat somewhere else.

The portions have shrunk a lot compared to the years before corona. Quality of the meat still very good. Side dishes have been significantly reduced or omitted. Chicken seems to be half of what it used to be. Per target, the prices do not increase much, only if a 10 year old eats a donut at home after a starter, main course and dessert... Unfortunately, the desserts (baklava and chocolava) seem to have been reserved on our plate straight from Aldi. Tasteless, not handmade or fresh. It's better to get an ice cream at the via via

Excellent Greek restaurant in the center of Oosterhout. The menu is fairly extensive. The quality of the food was generally good. The portions are not that big for a Greek, but they are sufficient. The staff is friendly and service-oriented. It is very dark inside and it was quite cold near the window. The chairs and tables are not exactly comfortable. The atmosphere is good. The choice to put together your own dish was surprising and will definitely make us come back again. We take for granted the search for a parking spot on Saturday evening (allow half an hour, including a walk to the restaurant).

Went there tonight after a long time due to... corona. But that was also the last time. It was always perfect, but this owner wants to quickly recoup his corona loss. We had reserved a table by the window in advance, but when we arrived we could choose all the tables except the window because they were already occupied. The starter was served on a plate with the pieces missing. And there were 10 mussels in a tomato sauce for 9.50. The main course (mix grill of 22.50). What I had trouble eating before corona now looked like a children's menu. No fries on the plates as we ordered, but 15 fries in a bowl to share with 2 people... you can make unlimited use of the beautiful salad buffet that is included in the price...... ....but yes, the buffet is there, but there is nothing in it. We skipped dessert, we preferred to go home and put something to eat on the table.
