They really need to hire more staff for busy times. The staff is completely exhausted. We did indeed have to wait a long time for everything, but we weren't in a hurry. We came specifically for the cheese fondue, but of course, it wasn't available. We weren't even told until fifteen minutes later. How are we supposed to know when the fondue will be available? Does it even exist? I had a "coffee special" for dessert, but it was absolutely undrinkable... The pizzas and pastas are delicious, though! I would definitely come back for that. It was absolutely freezing in the restaurant, though. Half the tables were wearing coats.

What a disappointment. We waited far too long for our food. After over half an hour, I politely asked where it was. Instead of an apology, the food was then thrown down on the table with a lack of interest, accompanied by the message: "This was ordered 7 minutes ago." Frankly, it felt rather disrespectful. As a customer, you just want to be treated normally, especially when you've been waiting so long. This whole experience immediately made the food taste much worse. We won't be back again. Such a shame.

Bad experience at Happy Italy Nieuwegein We had a particularly disappointing visit to Happy Italy in Nieuwegein. We waited 1.5 hours for our food. To our frustration, we discovered that our order had already been sitting in the kitchen for over 20 minutes, meaning the food was delivered to our table cold. The staff was also unfriendly and repeatedly told us the food would "be here soon," even though we could see it had already been ready and cooling. When asked later if it tasted good, I honestly said it wasn't and explained the long wait. They then said half of our order would be deducted from our bill. However, at the checkout, it turned out this hadn't been done, meaning we still had to pay the full amount for cold food. Because of the long delay, we didn't have time to eat dessert, which made the visit even more disappointing. In short: poor service, cold food, and unreliable checkout. No more Happy Italy Nieuwegein for us.

We visited the Nieuwegein branch today. We were 5 minutes late due to slippery roads (we arrived by scooter). So, 5 minutes after our reservation time, we were told our table was "already gone," which we found strange. After half an hour, we finally got a table after others who arrived later had already been let in before us. Okay, we finally ordered food at the table using the QR code, because asking what you want is absolutely unacceptable. We had to wait an hour (!!!) for our food, and when it finally arrived, the pizza was ice cold. The staff came to collect the food with a grumpy look and no apology, and after fifteen minutes, we received the proper food. It wasn't warm either, but it was better than the last time. Definitely the last time for us.

My recent visit to this restaurant was utterly disappointing. From the moment we arrived, my girlfriend and I faced long waits despite the restaurant being quiet, and a rude welcome from a grumpy woman behind the counter. Her lack of customer service was striking. While the pasta was okay, the tiramisu fell short of expectations – a simple mound of cream stuffed into a cheap plastic container. The fact that there was only one waitress led to long waits for orders. Communication issues due to language barriers made the experience even more frustrating. My "caramel coffee," which I was assured was a latte-like drink, turned out to be a horrible instant coffee. It was brown water with a dollop of whipped cream on top – ridiculous, and you pay 5.30 for it. To my dismay, I was charged for both the inedible coffee and the replacement latte, despite the promise of a "switch." When someone offers a switch, you assume it will be replaced, not added to the bill as an extra. The grumpy woman at the counter was rude and refused to correct the charge: of course, she didn't have to pay because "I think the coffee is disgusting," she said. But I'd be surprised if anyone actually liked that cup of cat vomit. After some discussion, we couldn't reach an agreement, and another employee was called. The other employee's intervention didn't resolve the issue. She couldn't do much about it either. Look, I don't want to be difficult about money, but then I had to pay 9.20 for a simple latte... All in all, this experience ruined the end of a pleasant evening. I hope they quickly teach their staff what customer service means.

I see lot of negative feedback for service however we visited this restaurant on 8th Nov. Staff behavior is pathetic especially the old lady in reception. We have requested lady if we can change our seat to upstairs but she directly said NO. we wanted our kid to play at upstairs but unfortunately we can not go upstairs. If this is the behavior of restaurant staff then we should not go next time I hope you can review your staffing and service process, as the lack of timely service and communication left us with a negative impression despite the good food.

I've been here many times in the past, and my wife has even left a few good reviews. Although the food was never particularly special, it was fine. The atmosphere is good, and it's especially nice with children that they have somewhere to play. Unfortunately, the food has become more simplified, and the quality of the ingredients has deteriorated. While the old pasta con polpette was fine, the new "meatballs" are really not tasty anymore. The ham on my son's pizza also tasted very cheap. I'm giving it 3 stars mainly because I hope things will improve.

When we entered, everything looked fine. However, we were helped by a woman who seemed completely out of it. She was very rude and didn't make eye contact. We wanted to order, and I grabbed the menu to see what I wanted. The woman simply walked away, "because we didn't know yet," even though we had already called her over. The food wasn't very tasty; it lacked flavor. While ordering desserts, she listed the ice cream flavors because ice cream was included in the deal. After we asked if there were any other desserts, I asked her to list them again, and with the most rude attitude, she simply said, "I already listed them, so you should have listened." I was so shocked and wanted to hurt her, but luckily my father stepped in and politely said he'd forgotten too, so he appreciated her mentioning them. Besides the food being terrible, the service is incredibly poor. If you're not happy with your job, at least pretend you are.

We had a lovely evening, and we were hungry, so we popped into Happy Italy. When we arrived, we got a table right away. It was a bit loud with all the children. We ordered food, and it arrived in half an hour. It was really delicious. But when we went to pay, we overpaid for three things. Eventually, we sorted it out with Bruno, and we might get our money back, but that's not guaranteed. The service would be better, but otherwise, we'd just lost €30.

We arrived at the restaurant, thinking we'd have a nice night out with friends... but the waitress greeted us without a word, in an irritated mood. I was quite taken aback. Afterward, we wanted to take a small child upstairs to the playground. Soon, we were approached by an older woman who told us she wasn't a babysitter, even though we never left the child alone. Then we went to order, and it took over 20 minutes before we could order. After we placed our order, we had to wait another 30 minutes for our food, even though we'd only ordered three dishes. When we finally got our food, the Magherita pizza had almost no cheese and was hard. Finally, we were greeted with a grumpy ending by the woman who helped us pay.

"Happy Italy - The Fast Italian" is beautifully written on their pasta signs, but I've never experienced it as slow as this weekend. We ordered, and after waiting 45 minutes, we went to check on the food. Oops, something went wrong. Apologies, a free drink, and our order being made so quickly. A full hour after arriving, we were finally able to eat. The food itself was fine. The free drink was nice, but not once did anyone come to ask if everything was to our liking. Probably because they already knew the answer. When we paid, the (older) lady said nothing, just a "Is that correct?" after we'd double-checked the receipt. I don't think she was particularly enthusiastic, because her whole body language gave it away. Even worse: the customers sitting upstairs came to pick up their orders from the kitchen and bring them to their tables upstairs... I later read in the reviews that long waits are common here. If I'd checked them earlier, we wouldn't have gone there. If you're short-staffed, fix it!

A disappointing chaos. Yesterday, we went for dinner with a group of 32 people. We had made reservations in advance. The reserved tables were immediately available and clean. It was supposed to be a festive end to a family day, but it turned into a disappointing chaos. There were far too few waitstaff and kitchen staff. Orders were served incorrectly. The first two pizzas weren't served for over 45 minutes. Only after waiting for over 2.5 hours did the last members of the group receive their pizza orders. And in the meantime, the entire group was forced to wait. The suggestion was made to go to the McDonald's next door... The pizzas were large but sparsely topped. Several had burnt crusts and a black crust. The pizzas were served on large, unheated plates and quickly went cold. We wanted to finish the meal with dessert. It all took so long that we had to return. All in all, a disappointing chaos.

We decided to grab a pizza. We arrived at 5:00 PM and ordered, got our food at 6:30 PM, and then waited another 60 minutes for dessert. We wanted a quick bite to eat after a day of hiking. We were greeted immediately upon arrival and shown to a table, and our drinks were taken immediately. I wanted iced peach tea but got sparkling... Meanwhile, I ordered drinks using the QR code, which I never received, but it was included on the bill. The service itself wasn't very enthusiastic either. There was a girl speaking English who paid little attention to the guests, wearing sweatpants, and a slightly older woman who was anything but happy and, in my opinion, did everything reluctantly.

Went for dinner again today. It was pleasantly busy, but it was a real shame that one girl, who did a perfect job, had to work the entire floor, and you had to wait over two hours for everything. In the end, the girl had to scoop the ice cream herself because everything was taking so long. She apologized a hundred times, people upstairs were getting irritated, and a couple of them left early. It's getting worse. The pizza was good, it was delicious, but the time wasn't right. When you point it out, they make a joke about it at the cash register. How funny, but they lose people because of this. Oh, and about that summer iced coffee, what a disappointment! It tastes purely like milk with a touch of caramel, and then you pay €5.30 for it. What a disgrace this was. I wanted to grab a bite to eat last Sunday. The average person waited two hours for their food. Due to understaffing, it was unbearable, but almost every table was full. I ended up canceling my order and going to the Golden M, where almost everyone who had left was also eating.

We entered, and all the tables were covered with empty plates and cutlery. We sat down and had to order via the QR code, which was no problem. It then took another 45 minutes for just the starter to arrive; we hadn't had any drinks yet. We'd already been asked twice if we'd ordered, but the bar staff were still calmly pouring glasses. Very poor service, and a restaurant I'd be ashamed of if I were the staff.

It all takes a very long time (1 hour and 15 minutes) before you get your food. There were three of us and my food arrived 15 minutes later. We had to wolf it down because we had an appointment (we were there at 4:45 PM), so not at the busiest time of the day... very poor!

Not great, we waited a very long time for our food. Ordering with a QR code wasn't great either. Seriously understaffed. The waitresses were making pizzas. Our ice cream had been waiting for a while...and then we had to get it ourselves. The food itself wasn't bad, but it wasn't what we've come to expect from Happy Italy.

Happy Italy... today was anything but "happy." We had a reservation and were given a table upstairs...a half-set table for 8 people, so we had to grab cutlery from another table. After our first drink, we didn't see any service. We got our appetizer right away, and then we waited over two hours for our food. Everything that could go wrong went wrong. Other guests' pizzas were getting cold, people were getting up from the table to leave... "English-speaking staff" didn't know what to do with the guests who walked out. People who finally got their food took it back with them. It was cold... We come here very often, but unfortunately, everything was ruined for this evening with 8 people. My children were already past their prime, and the fun was over for us too. We waited over fifteen minutes to pay, because there was no staff here either. What a shame for such a nice place that we used to visit so often.

Happy Italy: "The Fast Italian" that isn't so "fast." We like going to other Happy Italy locations because you can get delicious pizza or pasta quickly. We go here when we're on the go or when we don't feel like cooking. Our experience at this location was a bit different. It was still early and the restaurant was practically empty. Yet, it took fifteen minutes for us to get our drinks and sandwiches. A "please" wasn't allowed; it was casually placed on our table. Our pasta arrived half an hour after our sandwiches were finished. The food was excellent, but when we wanted ice cream after our pasta, we waited another fifteen minutes. Our plates were neatly stacked on the table; it was clear we were done. We approached a waiter, who then calmly walked on and started washing the dishes. I decided to walk over to him. He said he'd be right there, but after waiting another fifteen minutes, we decided to skip dessert. When we paid, the waiter asked if we'd like an ice cream after all. We told him we didn't want to wait so long, but we didn't respond. He seemed to care more about his female colleagues than about the guests. An older couple who took a moment to review the bill (which turned out to be incorrect) was met with rolling eyes from the same waiter. We found this quite disrespectful. We really don't mind waiting a bit when it's incredibly busy, but I think those six tables with four waiters on the floor weren't too bad. An apology for the wait would have been appropriate. This isn't the "fast Italian" we're used to.

We went here for the first time today after a day out. Unfortunately, it was a disappointment. We were allowed to sit upstairs. No problem, nice and close to the play area. Because of a tired child, we opted for just a pizza for everyone. We waited 40 minutes and then asked if they could check our order and if they hadn't started, we would pay for our drinks and leave. She didn't return, but coincidentally, a colleague arrived two minutes later with the pizzas (he initially went to the wrong table and served them there). The pizzas weren't as good as we were used to (we go there often in Tilburg), and the fact that they only admitted they were understaffed when we asked when our food would arrive was especially disappointing. Two pizzas, one children's pizza, and three drinks came to €50.

I recently visited your restaurant and wanted to share my feedback. While we enjoyed a delicious meal, the service experience was unfortunately disappointing. We waited quite a long time for our initial order, and when we tried to order soft drinks for the second time, my son asked the waitress three times but the drinks never arrived. It appeared that there weren’t enough staff to manage service efficiently. After waiting, we had to leave in order to pack our luggage and catch our flight. As we walked to the register, we saw the waitress finally bringing two soft drinks — but by then, we no longer needed them. I explained the situation, but the drinks were still included on our bill. The waitress told me to speak to the front desk to have them removed, and after talking to three different people, I ended up paying the full amount to avoid further delay and stress. I hope you can review your staffing and service process, as the lack of timely service and communication left us with a negative impression despite the good food. Good customer service is just as important as the meal.

Strongly discouraged takeout. Worst service we've ever had. TLDR: We were there for 45 minutes to pick up something. The pizzas were cold when we went. We had to wait another 10 minutes when we arrived at the agreed-upon time, no problem. As soon as they were ready, we were told the vegan desserts we'd ordered weren't available. We had to choose from the other non-vegan desserts at the same price. We couldn't get a refund, nor could we get anything else vegan. After a few more minutes with the pizzas in hand, we asked how long it would take: 15 minutes (eventually 25). We asked if they could keep our pizzas warm, so they placed them near the oven. How warm does something stay if you place it near an oven at home? Exactly: not. After 25 minutes, we went to someone else to discuss the situation, and the desserts arrived shortly after. The cold pizzas tasted quite good, better than the discount pizza delivery places. The tiramisu, however, was worse than the cheapest one at a supermarket (almost all cream and no soaked ladyfingers), and the sweet pizza was very salty. Service: The person who "helped" us seemed utterly indifferent, and there was no consideration on several levels: 1) no timely information about the food. 2) no viable alternative (something vegan). 3) no refund if delivery wasn't made. 4) no information about the long wait time. 5) no proactive effort to deliver the food properly (i.e., hot). 6) no effective solution for the aforementioned when you ask for it. 7) no consideration for the inconvenience, such as a drink, a better dessert, an apology, or anything.

It was too busy with too few staff! One girl at the counter and the tables downstairs. Drinks were served quickly, but the food didn't arrive in 5 minutes, as advertised. The food itself was fine. But then there was a very long wait for the table to be cleared and the ice cream order to be taken. And there were 3-4 of us waiting. The excuse was that it was full. That's nice, but actually too busy with too few staff. We left without ice cream, which was actually included in the Social Deal. Too bad.

Third time here, the food was fine (especially the pizza, the risotto was a bit disappointing). The service wasn't great. We had drinks at the start, but during the main course, it was impossible to get their attention to order anything else. At another table near the children's play area, a glass containing a drink fell into it. The staff saw it but didn't do anything. After asking, someone came to sweep up some glass, but not all of it, leaving some next to the path to the play area. The ice cream took a very long time, and the order wasn't picked up downstairs (we weren't the only ones this happened to).

It might be a bit too noisy for sensitive people, as some families with small children are seated upstairs. Orders can be placed via QR code or with the server. The appetizer arrived after about 10 minutes. Bruschetta: The bread was too hard, the tomato pieces were quite tasty, but the tomatoes weren't fresh. The pizza was quite good, with a thin crust in the middle and firm edges. The restaurant is okay, but the prices are on the high side, but still okay.

Don't eat here! The pizza we ordered seemed pre-made, made with regular flour (not suitable for pizza dough), hadn't rested, hadn't risen, was raw inside, the toppings were soggy, and there was far too much. The only thing I asked for was basil on my pizza, which I didn't get. We did get Turkish bread, from the Turkish owners, with a bottle of vinegar that said "Crete" on it—God knows why. One star is still too many, but that's the lowest we can give. We didn't eat the food because we feared for our health, but we did pay. We ended up going to McDonald's.
