I was a bit disappointed; the cream cake was a bit dry. Apple strudel had nuts in it, but it did have a fresh, tart apple flavor. Two coffees and three pastries were €20. Yes, everything is getting more expensive.

Great lunch café! Fast and friendly service! Espresso was good strength and the right texture, cappuccino nice and hot, rice flan was excellent, and the brie sandwich with honey and walnut was delicious. In short, you deserve 5 stars. Highly recommended!

Late Monday morning, when Heerlen city center wasn't yet bustling, I had a delicious sandwich. The sandwiches are classic, but that's exactly what I like. The staff was very friendly. The restrooms were also clean.

Very delicious breakfast and the prices were reasonable. The staff was especially helpful and service was great.

Either you are a baker, or you are in the catering industry. If you have a terrace with about 20 tables, I think you are a catering industry. The opening hours (8 a.m. to 4 p.m.) are clearly not tailored to this.

Today we had lunch at the German Bakkertje again. When we arrived on Saturday lunch time, a table was occupied. The service was young but sufficiently motivated. We ordered a healthy baguette and a brown ham/cheese roll and two cappuccinos without having studied the menu. It didn't take long before we were served the food. A satay stick with a lifeless piece of cucumber and some popcorn as decoration. The popcorn was tough and tasteless so that was not a positive addition. The roll tasted as it should taste and the cappuccino was okay!. When paying, I did get the thought that I had also paid for the other table 😳. Normally I rarely ask for a receipt but now that I had paid €28.50 at the cash register, I wanted to check. Outside I asked my partner!, what do you think I just paid?. When I told her €28.50, the indignation was great. Dear German Bakery unfortunately this was my last visit.. Dear reader you have been warned!.

Vandaag weer eens een poging gewaagd om hier een lunch te doen. Bij ons voorlaatste bezoek toen eea nog betaalbaar was hebben we op de vraag of alles naar wens was aangegeven dat de popcorn die als bijlage naast je broodje ligt smaakloos en taai was. De eigenaar meende dat wij het fout hadden want deze werd dagelijks vers aangeleverd door de bioscoop op de hoek. Vandaag dus na een geruime tijd weer eens een poging gewaagd. De bediening was jong van leeftijd maar netjes en correct. Een stokbroodje gezond en een bruin broodje ham/kaas inclusief twee cappuccino besteld zonder kaart!. Het werd opgediend met de bekende saté prikker met een futloos schijfje komkommer inclusief popcorn. De popcorn was als toen taai en niet smakelijk. De kwaliteit was zoals je verwacht dus niks bijzonders. De zaak was opvallend leeg voor lunchtijd met twee bezette tafels incl de onze. Gelukkig viel de popcorn bij onze tafelburen ook niet in de smaak 😅. Bij het afrekenen mocht ik €28.50 aftikken. Tja… dat prijzen veranderen oké maar €28.50. Duitse Bakkertje jullie zijn op de verkeerde weg en als dit zo blijft ten dode opgeschreven.. Ik kom hier niet meer lunchen

Nice place, fast service and friendly staff. We had a delicious meal. The sandwich with mango spicy hummus, is recommended.

Price-quality ratio is not okay. You get a 'baguette', read: small sandwich for almost €10!! Way too expensive

Leuke kleine zaak, prima vegetarisch broodje, lekkere rijstevla met kersen en verse taart. Fijne koffie. Vriendelijke bediening.

First the good news: the dirty and normal Chai latte were perfect. I ordered a sandwich with grilled vegetables last Wednesday. I expected a warm sandwich but it was cold. Ok may be my expectation. But the grilled vegetables consisted of 4 strips of carrot!!! Really ridiculous. The rest tasted fine (a little raw spinach, humus, pomegranate seeds) but it was really too poor for words. Unfortunately no photo was taken. The staff was friendly. They would pass it on. Too bad… I won't be going back anytime soon…

First wait 10 minutes to order... there are barely 10 people... Then you finally order your food, your eggs have been waiting on the counter for a few minutes... eventually they bring it and you still have no cutlery... 10 minutes later you get your cutlery and your food is cold! My sandwich was of course half finished before I had my cutlery... and then the amount of egg....🥴 And we weren't the only ones with complaints.... And then we're not talking about the price...

A wonderful bakery with delicious sandwiches. You can also sit inside and the atmosphere is very pleasant. The employees are very friendly and helpful.

German bakery, but certainly not German prices. Sandwich was okay (certainly not more than that) but almost 9 euros for a brown triangle with toppings?? Poor price-quality ratio.

Friendly staff and reasonable coffee. However, our Tyrolean apple cake, which was priced at 1.75 euros, was charged as 4.20 euros because we ate it with coffee. For that money we got a plate with it...

Nice and friendly service. Good quality food. Sandwiches and breakfast or pastry and beverages.

Thursday Caribbean day was busy again in Heerlen. There were enough people here to clean up and work in the kitchen. So well organised.

"Broodje schnitzel" was just some poorly baked chicken on bread. Very disappointing. The service was quick. We should have gone across the street.

Delicious German sandwiches and a cozy terrace. However, the service is a bit slow when there are many people.

Super nice people and good service and quality

Picked up lunch for myself and 7 colleagues. First day that the website was up and running, which was not yet 100% functioning. An employee answered the phone nicely and helped us well, sandwiches were ready at the agreed time and we all received a slice of fresh cake as a thank you. Delicious! Good service, very friendly staff and tasty sandwiches. We will definitely come back again! :)

Good food, just the size bit small regarding prices. Bread could be a bit more for 2 people. But clean, nice location and kind service.

Gebak wordt slecht geprijsd, dus je moet masr afwachten wat je ervoor betaald. Vooraf navragen! Chocoladetaart was niet te eten, super droog maar het personeel liet weten dat het vers was en het zo hoorde dat droge, het zou komen door de laagjes biscuits en de koeling . Hier gaan wij nooit meer terug. Koffie was lekker maar duur en een kleine kop. Zelfs het kruimelgebak was hard en droog

During my break I went for a to-go egg salad sandwich, but was faced with a 20-minute wait. The lady standing in front of me had already waited longer and had another meeting to make. She also informed newcomers that she had already been waiting for 30 minutes and advised them to keep in mind that this service is not ideal for a quick bite. In addition, it is important to know that you must explicitly ask for a napkin, otherwise you will not receive it.

Absurd prices and lousy quality, not a good combination. Apparently people here want to get rich while sleeping, but not at my expense. Last time I come here.

Used to be good, but not anymore, recently tried again, but the sandwich was not fresh, there was a stick in the sandwich and a dried out cucumber on it. The rest was not fresh either, except for the brown bun, which was fresh. In the summer of last year the display case was full of wasps/bees/flies on the cake.. We said something about it then, but the lady in question responded soooo laconically.... We were perplexed... We're not going anymore. If you present your products this way, Then you're not doing well... The male service was very friendly by the way!

White grilled chicken sandwich purchased at the atmospheric sales point, which is an open window next to the entrance. Sandwich was nothing special, packaged in a paper bag for €5.95. Was really disappointing, there are much better alternatives in the city center.

Healthy sandwich for €7 is so small and pathetically filled that you are still hungry afterwards. Chicken sandwich €10! Ordered drinks but forgot to deliver them. Can happen. But price-quality is really out of control here. They call it grabflation. Don't come back again.

It would be better to call the sandwich healthy and the sandwich minimal. For 6.95 I expected a little more toppings.

Given the proximity to the Aachen region, German bakers are certainly familiar to me and I was positively surprised to encounter a 'German' baker in Heerlen, just as there is a German Kickartz in Vaals, for example. Unfortunately, the positive surprise is somewhat disappointing: The sandwiches are often of mediocre/poor quality (very dry). The vegetable toppings (lettuce) are also not too fresh and again very dried out. A high-quality, high-quality German baker could really make a difference compared to the meager 'Dutch pistolets' that are often offered in Dutch chains.

De jongeman was heel vriendelijk maar de oudere dame stond er precies tegen haar goesting. Het gebak is heel lekker. De koffie vond ik wat verbrand smaken. Het is er gezellig om te zitten en veel keuze

Wit broodje spek en ei was nat en taai. Leek te zijn nat gemaakt en opgewarmd. Broodje van gisteren?

Smakelijk ontbijtje. Erg lekker en zeer compleet en eerlijke prijs. Altijd vriendelijk.

Weinig tot geen bediening ( mensen liepen weg voor of na bestelling omdat het zo lang duurde) tijdens jaarmarkt. Resultaat lauwe cappuccino.

Na regelmatig bij de overburen te gaan lunchen, vandaag gekozen om eens wat nieuws te proberen. Kan niet zeggen dat het een succes was. Ik vond het binnen niet erg hygiënisch, zeker als je naar de tafels keek. Het broodje kon ermee door maar in de toekomst gaan we weer gewoon naar de overburen terug.

Eerste keer bij het Duitse Bakkertje. Prima ontvangst, afwikkeling wat minder. Wellicht doordat alle plaatsen bezet waren, maar toch van belang dat iedereen bestek en een servet ontvangt.

There were about 10 people working there, none above 20 years of age. The food selection process wasn't easy even in Dutch. The payment process was ridiculous. You couldn't pay the serving staff, instead you had to join a queue of other leavers and off-street shoppers for bread and pastries. I stood there for about 10 minutes as only one of the 10 seemed to have been given the responsibility of looking after the till. I guess they relied on my honesty in telling them what I had ordered. The poor system of paying opens opportunities for dishonesty. I don't think I'll be back again.

Lekker eten en je zit er gezellig.

Gebak zelf was erg lekker maar ook duur en de bediening was zeker niet vriendelijk te noemen. Ga wel naar een van de vele andere.

Hele gezellige zaak met heerlijke broodjes en een heerlijke muntthee. Bediening is super vriendelijk . Aanrader is het broodje met gehakt!

Lekkere broodjes en tosti's. Ik vind alleen de prijs aan de hoge kant. Maar het was wel heel lekker..

Drukke zaak met heerlijke belegde broodjes en mooi punten gebak. Wel wat aan de prijs maar het geld meer dan waard.

Ondanks de drukte werd onze lunch erg snel gereserveerd.

Lieve bediening, lekker gebak en belegde broodjes. Wel een beetje jammer dat bijna alle broodjes de zelfde garnering hebben. Prijs is ook normaal. Ligging is centraal

Klein gezellig lekker en zeer vriendelijk personeel.

Zag er "Bagels and Beans" achtig uit. Niet echt een hartelijke ontvangst van het personeel maar voor een kop koffie en een punt vlaai leek het ons voldoende. Plakkerige tafeltjes en een beetje een smoezelig. Koffie was goed en de vlaai ook oké. Clubsandwich van mijn partner werd een tosti maar daar werd wel netjes excuses voor aangeboden.

Bij aankomst in Heerlen hebben we hier eerst een kopje koffie gedronken. Niet met een punt vla zoals ze dat hier blijkbaar noemen. Als Hollander wist ik niet beter of zulk gebak heet een vlaai, maar dat bleek een misvatting. Ik heb het opgezocht en hier wordt het een Limburgse vla, (plaatselik ouch vlaoj, vlaaj, flaaj of vlaam geneump), in 't #Nederlands vlaai, ies e typisch Limburgs gebak. Weer wat geleerd. De koffie smaakte trouwens goed en de bediening was ook goed.

Lekkere koffie en goed stuk gebak, vriendelijk personeel, lekker in het zonnetje, wat wilt een mens nog meer?

Voor een lekkerekop koffie,broodje,baguette of een boerenboterham kun je er goed terecht. En redelijk in prijs
