Het Grote Broertje in Grave

Great, accurate, friendly service. Despite the big crowds at Pentecost, we are still alert.

I don't know if it was due to the social deal promotion, but it started well with a nice soup, which could have been a little hotter, but oh well, after that it quickly deteriorated. Chicken burger really wasn't good. Way too big, overbaked burger bun with a frozen, not crispy, chicken burger and some sauce, a slice of pickle and a slice of cheese. The fries were so salty, something we had already heard, that they crackled from the salt, not from the fries, which were soft and greasy. Well, dessert is the chef's specialty, personally I'm not a fan of chipolata, but hey, that's personal. All in all, it wasn't that bad anymore. Staff were nice and attentive and atmosphere nice too, so shame about the food.

Very friendly staff, nice spot on the square, all dishes fresh and made with care for a very reasonable price.

The food was delicious, the soup could have been a little better, the rest was very tasty.

Social deal vouchers, 19 Euro for a 3-course choice menu. The waitress indicated that carpaccio and steak required an additional charge. Ordered: 2x carpaccio, 1x steak, 1x chicken satay. The carpaccio was tough and covered with a lot of truffle mayo. The steak was almost black on one side and cooked medium instead of the requested medium-rare. After a comment about the rather black steak I was told that the inside would be perfect...I didn't feel like arguing at that point. When asked if everything had been satisfactory, I again indicated that the steak was burnt and overcooked. When paying, I was asked again if everything had been satisfactory... by the same waitress. Of course, the surcharge for the steak was simply charged. I don't understand why a chef would even serve a burnt piece of meat. Furthermore, I do not understand why my complaint was heard without an appropriate response from the chef/manager. If you want to build a reputation you should approach it differently. In short, not recommended!

Unfortunately, my experience at restaurant Het Grote Broertje in Grave was disappointing. The food seemed to have been damaged by the freezer and was probably (partly) heated in the microwave. The staff, although friendly, seemed too young, inexperienced and forgetful. The interior was chaotic and overcrowded, almost like an overcrowded Xenos store. In addition, the food was overly salted and lacked decent vegetarian options. All in all, a disappointing experience.

Cozy atmosphere in a nice restaurant in the beautiful town of Grave. Invited by friends. Sharing Dining.

We had a walking package, first coffee and cake (also gluten-free, very nice!) which was very fine and delicious. After the walk through Grave, we sat down for lunch. This was quite a challenge, for us as visitors and for the staff, in terms of crowds and coping with this busy situation. There was 1 cook and the terrace was completely full. The service remained very friendly. Finally, after about an hour we got soup, which was tasty. And after another hour of waiting, our ordered salad arrived. Actually, the lovely weather made it too busy for what the staff could handle. We arrived for lunch at 2 p.m. and left at 4:15 p.m....price/quality ratio was excellent.

The food itself was fine. Had a hot chicken sandwich this afternoon. The ladies who serve really don't understand what working in the catering industry is. As a catering professional, this makes my heart cry. Tables that are empty and dirty for ages. Reason for me not to return. Shame about this thing.

Delicious meal with social deal. Only comment, they could come by for drinks more often. But other than that it was tasty.

We were 12 people and that is really too big a group for the big brother. Ordering the food alone took almost 10 minutes. The system also did not work properly. We really had to go through everything two or three times. Food was not served at the same time. Plates not nicely laid out. Steak not prepared as requested. Extra order of fries only delivered after the plates were empty. Dessert with warm cherries, dessert with lukewarm cherries. Children's dessert with surprise was surprisingly large compared to the adult dessert Dame Blanche. Young staff and staff shortages. Food was fine for the most part, but we won't be back here. There are really better places to eat with a larger group in Grave or nearby. Lunch with 3 people a while ago was fine.

Very special decorated restaurant, friendly smooth service, delicious food. The 12-hour menu could also still be ordered at 3 o'clock!

Enjoyed Shared Dining tonight!!! We dined extensively in an attractive atmosphere and enjoyed a wide variety of dishes. The staff is very friendly and because we sat at the back of the restaurant, we also had a view of the kitchen, nice! If I could give one little tip, I would -more from a hygienic point of view- would like to see a fork or spoon for some dishes (for example to scoop up the chicken satay or boeuf bourguignon). The Big Brother is definitely recommended, we will definitely come back!

A bit annoying trying to sell drinks

Had lunch with a friend. Unfortunately not a good experience. A toasted sandwich on a sandwich but with very little toppings...look for the cheese and look for the ham...and unfortunately also tasteless.

Bought 2x 3 course menu via social deal, starter bread board and breaded chicken was very tasty, main course took a long time, in the end we both got the surf and turf, unfortunately the shrimp had swum away and were just there with my partner 2 small shrimps and 3 and a small piece. We clearly indicated this to the waiter, but in the end we had to pay the full price. not to be repeated

Service very friendly. Starter very tasty, but the main course was pitiful. We both ordered surf and turf. On my plate exactly 2 shrimps and on my partner's 3 and a piece. Not much surf if you ask me. After we have indicated this, we still have to pay the full amount. Very strange when people at the same table receive a different amount (little!).

Had a super fun High Tea this afternoon with friends. We sat upstairs in an attractive spot at an oval table. Dishes were super tasty 👍❣️Definitely worth repeating. Nice location friendly staff

Very unfortunate, had a delicious meal a few times. Went yesterday for a high tea, which was really worthless, very little and nothing home made. Some purchased products on a bowl and that was it. It was definitely not worth the money

2e kerstdag wezen eten met een grote groep bij Het Grote Broertje in Grave. Wat een gezellige avond hebben we gehad! Lekker gegeten, vriendelijk personeel en een prettige sfeer. Ik kom snel nog een keer!

Kerstavond hier gegeten en eigenlijk best teleurgesteld over de kwaliteit van het eten. Keuze uit 35 gerechtjes, maar dat is dan wel inclusief voor - en nagerechten. Bijvoorbeeld: het stoofschoteltje was lauw en daar werd ook heel lauw op gereageerd, fish & chips mag de naam vis niet dragen, kiprollade is een plak worst en het ijs was grotendeels gesmolten toen het werd geserveerd. Het personeel is wel vriendelijk en de ambiance is leuk. Al met al hadden we voor een dikke €40 pp hogere verwachtingen en rijden wij de volgende keer geen 180km om bij het grote broertje te eten.

Mijn eten was heel erg lekker. De fish van de fish and chips was niet lekker op de foto is te zien dat de 'kibbeling' erg bol is gefrituurd en op de foto bij fish and chips staat een 'lekkerbekje'

Een geweldige locatie met super gezellige bediening. De lunch was gewoon top. Heerlijk soepje, net genoeg en de broodjes zal en carpattio waren heerlijk. Gaan er zeker nog een keer naar toe.

Het eten eenvoudig maar zeer goed klaargemaakt. De sfeer is gezellig. Dit hebben we nodig in Grave

Het eten was wisselend sommige gerechten waren wel lekker. Sommige gerechten waren echt niet lekker. Daarnaast was het personeel wat naast ons pauze aan het houden waren zeer irritant.

Met 4 personen shared dining. Heerlijk gegeten, snelle bediening, enthousiast personeel en gezellig interieur. Genoten! 🤩

Mooi concept met leuke keuzes van de menu kaart!

Leuk historisch pand, op een pleintje in Grave. Via Social Deal geboekt. Eerst via knooppunten een wandeling gemaakt en daarna een heerlijke lunch.

De Aziatische kippensoep was heel zoutig, en de smaak was zeker niet Aziatisch. En mijn zusje en ik waren de enigste klanten.

Heerlijk met z’n vijven geluncht na een koude fietstocht. Opvallend is de vriendelijkheid en de relaxte sfeer in een erg gezellige ambiance Top. Marian

Goed gegeten. Mooie aanbieding via Social Deal. Alleen zaten we voor de rust wat achteraf (bij de keuken) en werden we zodoende door de bediening vergeten. Had het idee dat de bediening geen vaste ruimte had waardoor alles door elkaar liep. Moest zodoende 3x vertellen dat we voor Social Deal kwamen. Ook het keukenpersoneel stoorde zich aan het feit dat eten niet gehaald werd, nadat ze gebeld hadden. Moet echt beter georganiseerd worden!

Leuke ervaring 2-gangen lunch ( soepje en broodje / salade) social deal - gegeten vandaag - aardige ambiance en aardig personeel.

Lang geleden dat ik zo lekker een avond heb gevuld. Leuke ambiance, goed concept en stuk voor stuk lekkere gerechten op tafel gehad. Zeker een aanrader en zeker tot ziens!

Lekker gegeten, beetje knorrige bediening.

De lunch is smaakvol en mooi geserveerd in verlengde van het interieur, aankleding van wanden en plafond … top ! Bediening aan tafel vriendelijk en correct. Volgende keer zeker dineren in de avond.

Gezellige plek, leuk sfeervol ingericht. Vriendelijke bediening, vlot. En lekker gegeten. Vooral het toetje vonden we fantastisch :)

We kwamen hier vanmiddag met de bonnen van Social Deal; lunch, warme drank met gebak en een wandeling. De serveerster bracht ons de menukaart en vertelde duidelijk waar we uit mochten kiezen met de Social Deal vouchers. Vervolgens kwam ze niet meer bij ons aan tafel. Uiteindelijk na een half uur wachten besloten om zelf maar onze vinger op te steken met de vraag of we onze bestelling door mochten geven. Het duurde erg lang voor ons eten uiteindelijk arriveerde. Smaak van het eten was prima maar niks bijzonders. Dressing van de salade waren ze vergeten. Na de lunch gevraagd om de route voor de wandeling, bij dezelfde serveerster. Ze gaf aan deze te gaan halen binnen. Helaas vergat ze ons opnieuw en heette ze nieuwe klanten welkom, waarna ze even later weer bestellingen hier en daar ging opnemen. Uiteindelijk besloten om zelf maar naar binnen te lopen en de route te regelen. Na de lunch zijn we de wandeling gaan doen, waarna we terugkwamen voor het gebak en de warme drank. Serveerster heette onze opnieuw welkom, waarna ze opnieuw niet meer aan tafel kwam. Helaas ook nu uiteindelijk besloten om maar zelf onze vinger op te steken. Al met al jammer van de slechte service van de serveerster. Ik begon me ook steeds erger te ergeren aan haar stopwoord; "Zekers". Wanneer je vroeg of je wat mocht bestellen, was het "Zekers". Bij de vraag of we konden betalen; "Zekers". Zo ging het aan elke tafel, wat we konden horen. Als je dan al wat geirriteerd bent door de slechte service, werkt dat ook niet mee. 😅

Leuke sfeer, vriendelijke bediening en lekker eten, en ze hebben Texels Skuumkoppe, heerlijk biertje👍

Lunch was prima verzorgd! Stadswandeling was geweldig om te doen. Goede kaart en veel informatie!
