Great location. Party? Small or large. This is highly recommended.

After a long walk at Slangenburg Castle, we had a nice meal here (with wife and dog outside in a heated room).

Wow!!! Those pancakes!!! Real bacon with rind, fried hard with apple...heavenly.

For the Slangenburg Summer Days, there was a colorful collection of stalls and products. We received a friendly welcome from two staff members. There was a wide selection of stalls and it was very pleasant. Parking was well-organized with traffic controllers and was free. There were also vintage cars on display. In short, a relaxed "party."

Took a safety course from HAK. Had a particularly good morning brunch. Plenty of choice. Too many to list. 🔝 TOP. Highly recommended.

The terrace and playground for the grandchildren are especially nice.

We walked a varied Klompenpad trail in this beautiful area. It's a historic industrial area that has largely been reclaimed from nature. We stopped for a coffee and continued our journey, a great opportunity to grab a bite to eat, drink, or both.

Enjoyed a delicious cup of coffee, apple pie which is highly recommended, good and friendly service and a nice environment to stay in 👍👍👍

I didn't find the food that special

Review Fred and Helma's wedding and birthday party on August 16, 2025. We had a fantastic party, everything was arranged in collaboration with them, and all agreements were fulfilled. The service was excellent; glasses were always full. The food, hot and cold, and the ice cream and pudding buffet were more than excellent. Compliments to everyone. DJ Tonny Magendans also deserves a big compliment for the atmosphere he created, making the party complete. Eleven children also had a great time in the playground, with the animals and the inflatable castle with a slide. Once again, everything was more than perfect, and thanks again. A beautiful location in Gaanderen in the Achterhoek region. Easily accessible via winding roads through stunning scenery.

I always enjoy coming here for delicious food and drinks on the cozy, old-fashioned terrace. The staff is friendly.

As a family, this left us with a very bad taste! We recently had a 'after-party' here after our mother's funeral. First of all, the order was wrong (instead of luxury sandwiches, there were simple sandwiches with cheese and ham). When I just came in after the funeral, I kindly asked if (as agreed) the doors could be opened so that we could also sit on the terrace, the owner snapped; 'No, that's not possible, because the soup hasn't been served yet and besides, instead of 90 people, there are 145, count it! ' With the final bill, this gentleman charged the full price (of coffee, currant loaf, soup and sandwiches) per person, while many people only had a cup of coffee. This made it an enormous amount, in which he absolutely did not want to accommodate us. So absolutely NOT recommended for a gathering around a funeral, very cold and very money-hungry!

Great food, after the main course we literally had to look for someone to pay, it all took so long. Too bad

Wij hebben als gezin hier een hele nare smaak aan overgehouden! Onlangs hebben wij na de uitvaart van onze moeder hier een 'nazit' gehouden. Allereerst klopte de bestelling niet (i.p.v. luxe belegde broodjes waren er simpele broodjes met kaas en ham). Toen ik net binnenkwam ná de begrafenis vroeg ik vriendelijk of (volgens afspraak) de deuren open mochten om ook op het terras te kunnen zitten, snauwde de eigenaar; 'Nee dat kan niet, want de soep is nog niet geserveerd en daarnaast, i.p.v 90 personen zijn er 145, tel maar na! ' Bij de eindafrekening heeft deze meneer de volledige prijs (van koffie, krentewegge, soep en broodjes) per persoon doorgerekend, terwijl veel mensen alleen maar een kopje koffie hebben gedronken. Dit maakte het een enorm bedrag, waarin hij absoluut ons niet tegemoet wilde komen. Dus absoluut NIET aan te raden voor een bijeenkomst rondom een uitvaart, zeer kil en heel geldbelust!

After a cremation, a visit to 't Onland is definitely recommended. Even if a lot of guests arrive at the same time, (almost) everyone quickly gets a first drink

We had dinner here last Saturday. We had agreed a lot in advance, but it seemed like they had lost our appointment note. Everything was wrong. The starter. The snacks for the kids And the after dish. Everything was different than discussed. We had to wait a long time between each course. I wouldn't plan a dinner here again anytime soon.

Had lunch, nice location, just a shame about the limited lunch menu. Management didn't really feel like it

Not worth repeating. We were completely ignored by the staff so we had lunch elsewhere.

A cozy Inn with rooms where you can also eat well, drink, give parties, at different locations, such as birthdays, weddings and other parties. You can't sleep there yet, but maybe there will be a sleeping area in the future. It could happen. Highly recommended. Close to beautiful hiking trails and a TOP location.

Delicious food as always. It was quite busy, we saw 3 large groups in the hunting room, upstairs room and hall and then in the cafe where we were also all tables were occupied. Delicious tomato soup and baguette with delicious herb butter, super tasty and easy to spread. Afterwards, despite the large groups, the main course arrived on time, including a delicious, well-cooked steak as it should be. Then had a delicious dessert. There were only 2 nice people working there, very friendly, even on that evening with so many guests. Everyone was satisfied except for 1 table, which was unjustified, which you could also see from the other guests who were sitting there. She even made up things that were not offered.

Had lunch. Food was good. Only cold when the door opens. It was about 5 degrees outside.

Cozy "old-fashioned" place to eat and drink. Perfect opportunity for parties. Spacious free parking spaces. Also an ideal place for a walk in the wooded neighborhood.

Very cozy and there is something for everyone, even for kids

Had to wait at the bar for over half an hour because something went wrong with the reservation. Then a group of 9 people arrived after us who had also made a reservation, and they had to wait more than an hour for a spot. A lot went wrong when taking orders; Menus were not taken, only 1 basket of bread was brought (for the 5 of us), and the glasses were carried on the side from which people drank. Furthermore, the food was good and the atmosphere is great. However, the service did reduce the experience, which is a shame.

The cafe is a bit dark but cozy. Had nice coffee. The apple strudel was almost perfect!

Kwaliteit prijs verhouding is slecht. Voor deze prijzen mag je betere gerechten verwachten. Gebakken aardappelen uit een zakje met een paprika achtig smaakje halfgaar en lauw opgediend bijvoorbeeld.

Service very poor... after a long wait I ordered at the bar. Had 1 drink then waited a long time again.. service just didn't show up anymore, very special.

unfortunately had a bad experience. After waiting almost 1.5 hours we only had something to drink and a starter. the herb butter came from the freezer and was not spreadable. asked for a new one, but that took so long that we gradually 'smeared' it in hard form, which of course didn't really taste like it. the waiter blamed the cook for not serving it. other visitors who arrived later than us had already finished eating when our main course finally arrived. When I said that we had to wait a very long time for the main course, and I suggested that we get a round of soft drinks on the house, I was ignored and told that it was almost coming. I had the stuffed zucchini to avoid white carbohydrates, there was some kind of transparent sweet sauce draped over it... It would be to your credit if something like this were served loose instead of tossing it on top, even though this is not mentioned in the description of the dish. At checkout, nothing on the house was given as compensation and that was the end of the matter. I replied that I did not think this was decent treatment, and the waiter said that he had done nothing wrong, that he could not compensate us for the long wait and that it was simply very busy and that there was a lack of staff. €79.00 for a mediocre dinner for the three of us, I will definitely not be coming back here. very unfortunate.

Had coffee with apple pie/waffle. When we had barely finished it, we were asked if we wanted anything else to drink. Not so nice, paid immediately and left again.

Had a nice BBQ in one of the outbuildings. Old-fashioned cozy atmosphere.

I had lunch with family members, which I thought was very atmospheric, and the weather was nice, so it was nice to sit on the terrace.

We sat comfortably in the cafe with tea and cake. Cozy atmospheric spaces between the trees. Good and friendly staff. Outdoor playground for the children and ample parking. I will definitely come back here again.

half uur op terras gewacht om bediend te worden, uiteindelijk maar gegaan. zelfs niet eens wat te drinken kunnen bestellen. leek erop dat er te weinig personeel was. en het was notabene pas 17.00 uur

Food here is excellent. The beef carpaccio is very good and very tasty. The steak is perfectly cooked and wonderfully tender. Ditto the pork tenderloin. Side dishes also sufficient. There was almost nothing left but it was enough, so no waste. Afterwards our party at this location was nothing but praise. Nobody lacked anything. Top location!

Had a nice birthday celebration, was able to serve myself from the bar and drink food from the restaurant with BBQ well taken care of

Be prepared for very long waiting times. You are not welcomed, you have to wait endlessly for (and ask for) the menu yourself, then wait a long time for the food. Then wait in line to pay. Be sure to allow 2 hours for a simple lunch. This is absolutely not worth the wait or service.

Nice place to have a nice meal, either for a snack or for dinner. Due to the busy weather (nice weather and Sunday) we had to wait a while for the order, but that is of course no problem and we fully understand.

We celebrated our 45 years of marriage at the Onland in the haystack and received nothing but praise. Greeted kindly upon arrival and everything was immediately discussed so that there were no ambiguities. We had agreed that we would do most of the work ourselves, but the service really went above and beyond, everything was cleared away immediately and the service was very alert. Compliments to the chef/kitchen, all guests and we ourselves ate with taste and there was more than enough for everyone. So it really deserves all the stars.

Beautiful hall complex, ideal for family parties. The play area for children is a big plus.

Heerlijk geluncht op de helft van de pieterpad route..

Heb er al eens een bruiloft gevierd en nu hadden we een jubileum feest. Gewoon Achterhoekse gezelligheid. De ober loopt z'n benen uit het lijf om te zorgen dat je niks te kort komt. Zoals het hoort in t oosten van t land! Stamppot buffet was prima. Warme snacks en koude hapjes ook top...

Hele fijne locatie, als restaurant maar ook voor huur van verschillende zalen, met eigen terras! Heerlijk eten, maken hele mooie buffetten, warm en koud. Ook leuk voor kinderen: er is een grote buiten locatie met speeltoestel, springkussen, kabelbaan, water/zand speelplaats, mini kinderboerderij, gebruik van kinderfietsjes, trapkarren skelters.

Gezellige plek. We waren er voor de Slangenburgse Nazomerdagen. Niets genuttigd, maar zag er goed uit.
