What a nice place this is! Very tasty and good food. We had the tasting menu. We had 5 courses and everything was equally delicious. Meat was delicious and tender. The forest mushroom soup is also really tasty. Everything tasted super fresh and was clearly prepared with a lot of love. The owner and the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. We really had a great evening. We will definitely come back here!

We ate here last Thursday and Sunday evening. The staff were friendly, the owner was a pleasant, spontaneous, and hospitable person. The food was delicious. We'll definitely be back.

Ate here with two friends. Nice interior, friendly atmosphere. Delicious food, bread board, spare ribs and waffle with fresh fruit. Very nice staff, with whom you can quickly make contact and make a joke. Nice beers and wine. And not unimportant, older people can understand each other well here......even without hearing aids. Hope to come here very often.

Heerlijk en gezellig gegeten met onze vrienden. We zijn weer zeer gastvrij ontvangen. Een half uur omrijden meer dan waard.

It was a very pleasant surprise. The service was incredible, extremely friendly and very attentive. We had 2 small children with us, who were always nice and careful, even lending us crayons and offering waffles and potatoes. We ordered several types of meat, always well served and very well prepared. Without a doubt, a restaurant that is well worth it!!

While the service was very nice and the ambience is full of life we were utterly disappointed by the food. For +/-20 there is a vegetarian and chicken stew. One would think that with only 8+ items on the menu it would be, at least, a good stew. Not at all. The vegetarian stew was bland and sad. The chicken stew was basically just chicken pieces with lots of soja sauce (no spice by the way). While presented in a nice oven pot, it's clear that both were not made in the oven. Both plates resembled food that an amateur made quickly at home. It was not worth the price in the slightest. You get a small portion, and with dry fries to share. I am surprised that this restaurant has such a good rating. We were honest with the staff about this issue and nothing came out of it. Thus the unfortunate reason for this bad review.

Super friendly and they take food allergies into account very well!

Super gegeten en wat was het allemaal heerlijk.. De proeverij als je met iets groter gezelschap ben ,raden we dit aan.. Vanaf de soep tot aan het dessert echt top.. Komen zeker nog wel een keer terug 👍

Very cozy bistro with delicious Texel beer on tap. Het Poorthuis was rented for a friend's birthday so I haven't eaten there yet. The festive snacks that we were served by the enthusiastic team during the evening were truly a taste of more to come.

The owner is very hospitable and a real star in the kitchen. It is a small restaurant which makes it particularly atmospheric. You really get value for money and the portions are more than enough! Nice service. We will definitely come back here!

Ate here twice last week. Very pleasant service. Excellent preparation of the various dishes... We ate a Poorthuis plank of diamond tenderloin, venison steak and salmon. The second time Carpaccio, Chicken Satay and Beef Tenderloin. Dame Blanche and Cappuccino were delicious. We would love to come back again!

I had a friends party there for the second time now. Definitely a catering establishment that I would like to visit again. The will and passion to make the guest feel first is there.

How lucky we were that there was still a table available. What a great restaurant. We opted for the tasting and were completely surprised. Rarely have you had such a delicious and casual meal. Met vrienden bijkletsen en hapje eten. Uitgekomen bij het Poorthuis. Een super gezellige avond gehad. Heerlijk eten, goede bediening en veel sfeer. Gekozen voor proeverij. Heerlijke afwisselende voorgerechten gevolgd door een plank met 3 soorten vlees als hoofdgerecht. Eigenaar kwam vragen of we nog wat extra vlees wilden, waar maak je dat mee. Nog wat spare rond en heerlijke zalm bijbesteld. Alles was lekker, zou niet zo kunnen kiezen wat lekkerste was. Tot slot nog assortiment met toetjes en van het huis een limoncello. Sfeer op terras was gemoedelijk/gezellig. Topavond gehad!

Geweldig! Too quality food and meat cooked to perfection. The waiters were also extremely nice and helpful. The surprise from the chef ( lemon cheesecake) was the cherry on the cake. 100% recommend.

Delicious food. Sat for over 3 hours and enjoyed a tasting 👍 truly one of the better restaurants in Wageningen. Excellent service with a lot of personal attention. If you still have room left, one of the delicious waffles is also recommended 👌

Delicious food! Surprise menu, where we laughingly asked if it was the "left-overs". Lots of nice starters... With a beautiful plank of beef, diamond tenderloin and deer steak as a main course. Definitely a place to go back to.

The food was very tasty and good, but this is a place with little space and many tables, so it quickly becomes very loud and you cannot hear each other well. I recommend that the owner attach sound-absorbing foam under the tables, this helps enormously.

As always, a delicious lunch! The owner and his wife are wonderful hospitable people. Nothing is too much for them.

The food was nice and the (somewhat pushy) service okay, but it all seems too much for the owner. The table next to us (a group of friends of 15 people) was publicly criticized by the manager immediately upon arrival. They might have talked too loudly. It was extremely embarrassing and exaggerated how the man let himself go. And anything but hospitable. It became very quiet in the restaurant and the atmosphere was completely gone from then on. You almost didn't dare to talk anymore.

I often eat here and it is always very tasty and pleasant. The spareribs even come close to a religious experience for me! (Yes, I understand there are religions that avoid pork - cool, that's more for me 🤘) By far the best in the wide region :) But the other dishes are also always very tasty and well prepared. Very pleasant atmosphere and good choice of drinks. And the Wageningen Waffle is a must if you can still finish a dessert after all the above ;) Make sure you reserve in time because they fill up quickly (and quite rightly!).

Open again and still very good food. We recommend the Tasting, eating all evening and trying a little bit of everything. Don't forget to have one of the waffles, very tasty. Especially with bacon :)

Walking in the shopping street, my eye fell on the terrace. Just a quiet place and still nice to people watch. I was in the mood for a 33n egg roll and it's not on the menu, but it was still delicious and delicious. Tasty salad also next to the bread. My other half's satay was also delicious. Cozy restaurant, friendly service. Good quality food, had very good chicken satay and fillet steak. Dessert, warm Wageningen waffles with fruit, ice cream and whipped cream, is also highly recommended!

Had a very nice dinner. Had a starter and a main, was more than enough food and delicious. Only note is that the staff was slightly too helpful, asking us if everything was okay just after someone else had asked the same.
