We consciously chose not to write a review immediately after the first time. After all, everyone deserves a second chance, and ultimately, of course, it remains our personal opinion. We have now eaten the Kipduner twice and the Gyros once. What struck us most were the rather high prices. In itself, given the costs and the staff, that is naturally not surprising. But when you then have to search for the meat among your fries, it does become quite annoying. And unfortunately, that was the case three times in a row. For that price, in my opinion, you should be able to expect a bit more: slightly fewer fries and a bit more meat. Hopefully, something will be done about it, because at these prices, you would expect the ratio of fries to meat to be better balanced. We find it a shame, because eating something different from the norm is nice every now and then.

Delicious food and pleasant service

We ate here today. We ordered water, ice tea, steak at the Strandhuys, and surf and turf. In the end, we received a standard steak, so without fried onions, mushrooms, and bell peppers; that didn't matter much. However, we did end up paying for the steak at the Strandhuys. We were also not shown the receipt to check our food afterwards, but what we paid is incorrect.

Great beach bar with a fantastic view of the sea or lake. Friendly service.

We regularly order fries from Het Strandhuys to enjoy at home, and we are actually incredibly satisfied every single time. The staff is always friendly and welcoming: everyone greets you, the order is ready exactly on time, and should something ever go wrong, it is resolved immediately and without any hassle. And of course, most importantly: the fries are delicious every time, nice and hot, and nice and crispy :) Today I felt they deserved an extra compliment. With temperatures well over 39 degrees and a packed terrace, the staff are working incredibly hard. And yet, everyone remains just as friendly, you are served with a smile, and the fries are just as tasty as always! Hats off to the entire team at Het Strandhuys! You guys are amazing!

We had a delicious meal this evening after a day of boating in the Biesbosch. We hadn't made a reservation, but we were still able to get a table on the beautiful terrace. The service was friendly and quick. Perfect dishes for anyone looking for a slightly more upscale "quick" bite. We had the Greek style twice, a carpaccio salad, and for our son, just fries with a frikandel. Everything was delicious and there was plenty of food (a bit too much for the children, as usual).

We were here with our two children and had fish and chips, spare ribs, and pancakes. Everything was delicious and we really enjoyed it. The service was also very friendly and attentive. Beautiful location right on the beach – we felt very comfortable and would love to come back!

Visited the Strandhuys again after a long time. Just for a drink. Almost all tables were reserved, and that on a Sunday morning at 11:00. We were still able to choose from two small tables in a corner. Ordered a fresh orange juice and a cappuccino. I found the juice very watery; that might have been due to the oranges, but it didn't feel fresh. The cappuccino came from a machine. For €9.65, that's nothing to brag about. We just walked to the cashier to pay ourselves because no one came. The atmosphere was fine. It is a pity, though, that we weren't offered a spot by the water, even though we only came for a drink.

My partner had a burger menu and that was fine, but my goat cheese salad was a joke. 3 COLD mini slices and two minuscule strips of bacon. I also had to search for the dressing with a magnifying glass, and let's not even talk about the pine nuts, or rather, the lack thereof. The lettuce tasted sour in bursts, which means it certainly wasn't fresh. When I expressed my disappointment, I was told that the goat cheese was never served warm; my suggestion that it would be wise to mention this on the menu (because then I would NEVER have made this choice) was brushed aside, and I was told I should just go INSIDE and tell them. It is sad to speak to your guests like that. It should be clear that this visit left a bad taste in my mouth, and not even because of the sour lettuce.

Fast, friendly, staff also speak German or English, we were very satisfied.

The food is delicious, especially on a summer evening. Just not when it's very windy; you're better off sitting inside then. You can certainly find genuine Burgundian conviviality there. The service also deserves a huge compliment. See you soon, for sure.

We had a good meal. There was a wait without a reservation, so it's best to book in advance! You sit with a sea view. The service is friendly and efficient. The spare ribs were excellent! Overall, it's rather pricey, but recommended.

I have been here often, but it is a mess now; there are only young people working there with no work experience. If you ask them something, they don't know anything and have to fetch a colleague who does know how it works. The beer glasses there are dirty; you walk to the bar, they wipe them with a cloth, and the bar boy says it won't get any cleaner. So I walked to the tap along the bar and just rinsed the glass myself.

Very nice and cozy place to eat in Bergen op Zoom Where you can enjoy a good meal. The service is very cheerful and very polite. Hope to come here again on my bike stopover

Generous portions and tasty, friendly service

We ate at your place last night; things we noticed: - Wine glass not clean, lipstick from the previous diner :-( - Toilets messy with toilet paper on the floor everywhere, planted toilet seat. The toilet paper was missing from the toilet roll holder in the toilet. - Very noisy table of people from Brabant behind us on the terrace, who were screaming while having a conversation with two tables away...very disturbing. - Carpaccio starter (16.50 euros) is served without bread? Strange.

The location by the water is very nice. Unfortunately, we are no longer satisfied with the service. The last 2 times were worthless. We constantly had to ask to order something ourselves. The ladies were chatting happily amongst themselves, so several people had to start shouting. On June 20th, we had a children's party with 14 adults and 1 child. I, the grandmother, had to constantly clear the table myself; empty glasses, etc., were not collected. When you have so many people, the table fills up quickly. This was a big disappointment for all of us. I hope the ladies will pay better attention.

If you happen to be in the area, it is definitely worth stopping by for a meal. We were able to walk in on a Saturday and there was still a spot available, though it was already reserved. Was that a problem? No, not at all for us. We ended up having a delicious burger and then took a nice walk along the boulevard. Highly recommended.

Beautiful interior, cozy atmosphere, delicious food and friendly staff

Nice concept, a sort of brasserie but with a strong emphasis on fried food. Fortunately, however, it doesn't feel like a cafeteria. The atmosphere is good: friendly service, reasonably spacious layout, and the acoustics are pleasant too.

One of the best dining spots in the region, a prime location, but above all delicious food and very friendly and hospitable young staff; they deserve a TEN. 👍🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Very disappointing experience. I arrived at the restaurant at 8:15 PM, while the kitchen does not close until 9:00 PM according to the opening hours. Nevertheless, I was told that the kitchen was already closed and that I could no longer eat. This is misleading for customers who trust that the stated times are accurate. A restaurant should be able to serve guests until the kitchen closes or clearly communicate if the kitchen closes earlier. Unfortunately, I left empty-handed.

For years, the coziest spot on the Binnenschelde. Friendly and professional staff. Very large selection. Food and drinks in a prominent location. Plenty of free parking. Reasonable prices. You always run into familiar faces there. Extensive beer selection. A great place to hang out. Highly recommended! Enjoy the very best atmosphere.

It had been a long time since I ate at the Strandhuys, but it was a good choice again. If you want a quick bite to eat of good quality and a reasonable price, this is the right place. We went to the movies afterwards and it was already a nice start to our night out. Very nice and helpful staff. Waiting for your food was just right and the fries with stewed beef were delicious. I doubt a little whether it was really homemade because I tasted similar stewed beef at Sligro the week before. But nevertheless, very tasty. 😋 I forgot to take pictures, but that will happen next time because we are definitely coming back.

The fries are really delicious, but the 'homemade' stew is downright disastrous. Taste it before you serve it to your customers! Too much thickening agent, very tasteless, and only one 'meat thing' to be found. Actually, I just hope this isn't *really* homemade. If so, send the cook to cooking class. The rest of the staff is top-notch.

The food was not good. The kibbeling was practically burnt. It was way too tough. When I indicated that it was inedible and told them to show it to the kitchen, everything went into the trash very quickly.

We came here for lunch, after being told to seat wherever we wanted, we had to wait 15 minutes to order drinks and get the menus. The cola came already opened, had not the color or taste of Coca Cola and didn’t even came with ice. After another 20 minutes waiting for someone to come take our order, we decided to pay and leave, as we didn’t wanted to wait another 30 minutes for the food.

We had lunch there and the service was super friendly and fast. They have an extensive lunch menu and delicious food.

Extensive menu, delicious food and good service and a beautiful view

A beautiful location and lovely, attentive service. The culinary side is much less so. It's essentially a refined cafeteria in terms of dishes. So, lots of fries and a generous amount of greasy sauce on the plates. Recommended for those looking for a pleasant location but don't have excessive demands on taste and the presence of local, healthy ingredients.

A chip shop, atmosphere like a chip shop but fine for sitting inside. In the summer, it is nice to sit on a beautiful terrace by the water. Well organized for picking up ordered food 👌🏼 The fries are very tasty!

With the fries with stew, you had to search for the meat, and it didn't taste like stew. The fries were soft and the grizzly was too hard.

Why a chip shop! It's a restaurant where quality and service are paramount. The location is fantastic. The service is top-notch, and the flavors are a definite plus, proving it's not just a chip shop!

Delicious food in a beautiful location

Plenty of choice and good food. But... Waaaaaaaay too many fries. Hardly anyone could finish them, and plates were constantly being cleared away half full, and all the fries were thrown away. That's really unacceptable these days. Instead, give everyone half the price and offer to order free fries for big eaters. It's a real shame, bad for the environment, and bad for the entire potato and chip industry chain to throw away so much.

Just called to ask if there was any room for tonight, and they told us they were completely booked and we should stop by, hoping there might be a spot left. Just got a text from my parents, who happened to be eating there, saying it wasn't busy and there was still plenty of room. It's a bit odd that they told us on the phone that they don't have any room.

Snack bar and restaurant. Very friendly staff who are happy to help. Both the restaurant and snack bar were busy. Excellent menu with very reasonable prices. Highly recommended!

Surf and turf was very tasty. The schnitzel was a bit disappointing. No complaints about the amount of fries. They were more than enough. A bit too much, actually.

Great location. On a lovely boulevard with a small beach. The service, food, and drinks are also excellent.

For a bite to eat out without breaking the bank. Reasonable prices, simply excellent food. It's actually a very clean, cozy cafeteria with a lovely terrace and very friendly staff, who, despite the huge crowds, keep smiling and don't lose sight of anyone. Truly impressive!

The chicken was fried very hot which made it super crispy.

We had a lovely time sitting in the sun by the water. The food was disappointing, though. The menu says "Vienna Schnitzel," but it's definitely not that; it's more like a piece of chicken breast. Such a shame! The burger was better, although the bun could have been baked a bit shorter.

The atmosphere and staff were friendly. The snitzel was a pale imitation of beef steak; it didn't even resemble it. The loaded truffle fries were delicious, but the burger buns were much too hard and crispy. Therefore, I wouldn't recommend either dish.

Highly recommended if you're craving fries but don't want to sit at a snack bar. They do everything right, it's clean, the staff is friendly, and the food is delicious with excellent value.

Made a reservation because you expect it to be busy in nice weather. And it was. It was rather surprising, and a real shame, that the waterfront was closed off?!? That's why you book at the beach house; delicious food by the water while watching the sunset. The food was good, and the service was very helpful, so an additional salad was possible. 😀

Great place to eat. Friendly service. The food is excellent, plenty of choice, and the price-quality ratio is good. A little gift for the kids with the children's menu, from a claw machine, absolutely fantastic. 👍 Update 2025: Still delicious food and a great place to visit.

The food was delicious. It's a shame there weren't enough umbrellas, and I found the fact that smoking is allowed on the terrace rather disgusting. Unfortunately, that's why we left quickly.

The food was delicious, I actually wanted dessert, but unfortunately, that didn't fit. Today, July 13, 2025, two years later, we went for dinner again. The food was still good, but unfortunately, I didn't get around to dessert again. Because there were people smoking on the terrace next to us, I don't understand why this is still allowed.
