Had a great pizza here with my family in the late evening. Owner is very friendly and outgoing, answered questions about the area and was helpful. Food was good, pizzas are large for one person.

Be aware that, like many restaurants out here, when the hours say until 9 o'clock, even for a single person in the rain, they are likely to turn you away saying they are full, or out of food, an hour or more before that. So go early or have a plan B. Otherwise, is very convenient and casual if you're in the marina. There are enough choices for variety, even if you are staying several days. I highly recommend it and will be back for more items on the menu as it was hard to choose and so good. I had to try the tender, not overcooked, BBQ style pork baby back ribs, with biger hand cut fries and salad. The next day, I had the enormous fresh Bacon Cheeseburger with homemade crispy onion rings, not pasty ones out of a bag. The burger was perfectly done, and in addition to onions and tomatos, it had cucumber slices. We Americans could learn something here. It's why I love to travel. The host and owner can be very welcoming. both speak English as well. A cozy atmosphere with great music played softly and not intrusive to conversations. Pet friendly. even though I don't have a pet, I love that they are welcome. Water bowls for your dog. Lots of choices for alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

A wonderful place to relax, the staff especially the owner are super accommodating. For those who don't speak the best English, no problem. You can also order in German. We were here 2 years ago, this holiday and will definitely be here again when we come back to the area.

Petit resto vu sur le port, serveur très sympa, nous avons pris 4 plats differents tous très bons. Frites et salades pour accompagner aussi délicieuses ( les gambas, les moules, le porc pané, le Burger) La face extérieure ne donne pas envie mais ne vous arrêtez pas à ça, rentrez et bon appétit !

The restaurant doesn't look very cozy from the outside, but it certainly is inside. Cozy place and excellent reception and service that immediately makes you feel welcome. There's nothing wrong with the food. Nothing excessive, but no nonsense, just good dishes. The prices are okay. Tip for people with a small stomach: It is no problem at all to order a small portion or to share a dish. We will definitely come back!

Het Zandhuis is definitely worth a visit. After the renovation it got even better. The food is first class and the owner occasionally works magic on site and in the kitchen. A special moment was when the owner made my 2 year old son shine, without any magic. We will definitely come back often as we feel very comfortable here.

An insider tip for super delicious food... we were very satisfied and enthusiastic... even if the restaurant is rather inconspicuous, you are in good hands here for delicacies, plus very nice staff who understand many languages... Top!

Wir waren sehr positiv überrascht. Von außen hätten wir es auf den ersten Blick nicht gedacht…. Wir haben Burger gegessen, die einfach super lecker waren. Das war der beste Burger den wir bis jetzt gegessen haben. Die Bedienungen waren alle sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich. Preise sind für diese Qualität von Essen super okay. Wir können es definitiv weiter empfehlen und werden wieder kommen.

Herman and Petra are amazing hosts. This is a clean, fun, friendly restaurant right by the beach. Very kind attentive staff as well. Inside table seating, bar seating, patio seating and terrace seating. They really have it all. Their food is very good. I dined here several times over a week. Pizzas were amazingly good and the mussel dish so very good! Full service bar with very fair prices. They really make you feel welcome and at home here. No pressure, no fuss, just lots of smiles and amazing hosts. I looked forward to returning each night for dinner, I felt so welcome. Top marks, do not miss out on this one! 1 min walk to the lovely beach. Thank you again Herman and Petra for making my time in IJmuiden so much better having met you both.

Herman, Martin, and the whole family were incredible people. This gem is magical! We went as a couple the first night, and as a family with our dog the second. Both evenings were Lekkar!!! Everything from taste, price, atmosphere was perfect. But it was really Herman and his whole team who made this incredible for us. A sampling of amazing Dutch beverages for me, delicious stracciatella for my wife, Pizza and magic for the boys, and a welcoming bowl of water for our dog. Recommend for all, will return!

Ein tolles Restaurant mit einem sehr freundlichen Inhaber der auch deutsch spricht. Unser Hund hat sofort Wasser bekommen ganz ungefragt. Ich hatte den Burger mit Speck und Spiegelei es war fantastisch vor allem mit frischem Grillfemüse. Sehr lecker.

Waren Gestern mit Freunden im Restaurant, Service war super, die Burger und Pommes waren sehr gut. Würden jederzeit wieder dort essen.

This was some of the absolute best food I have had in my life, and the service was absolute class as well. I have had worse food and worse service at Michelin restaurants, this is how overwhelmingly good this restaurant was. We had the mussles and the pizza, the latter was cooked in a wood oven - and both of them were just amazing! I have nothing but praise for this place and these people, may God keep them open for a hundred more years!

Wow! Wir waren begeistert! Von außen unscheinbar aber innen sehr stilvoll eingerichtet. Der Kellner war super gut drauf und sehr freundlich. Das Essen war echt super! Selten so ein leckeren Burger gegessen! Großes Lob an die Köchin, die auch die Inhaberin ist.

Waren abends top Essen und sind sehr zufrieden und positiv überrascht. Von außen sieht das Restaurant sehr unscheinbar aus, wären fast dran vorbei gelaufen. Drinnen sehr freundlich begrüßt und lecker gegessen. Das Personal sehr freundlich und aufmerksam, die Preise für die Lage absolut ok und das Essen war wirklich sehr lecker. Prima lokatie, gezellige sfeer en vriendelijke mensen.

Wir waren in unserem Urlaub zweimal dort Essen! Der Chef ist einsame Spitze. Wir waren mit unseren Kindern (13 &6) dort und wurden sehr herzlich (in herrlichem Rudi-Carell-Deutsch)empfangen. Nebenbei ist er auch noch Zauberer - das Highlight des Urlaubs für unseren Sohn.:-) Das Essen war lecker und die Atmosphäre sehr nett. Wir können eine absolute Empfehlung für Familien aussprechen!
